XellenceOfXecution
Sweet, DBG! Sounds like some good improvements, especially the local promotion types, and I look forward to all the new moves! You are the man! You know you are! Midnightnick
Awesome Ghost, can't wait for the moves to be added. And I always put ASW as Sports Entertainment. A promotion where the owner's son has to be under a different name? Easily WWE style.
That Crazy Guy
Wow. You must really like Sabu after all this. I actually feel honored what I somewhat helped the interest, there. Everything sounds great, D. Boon. Awesome job.
D. Boons Ghost
Ah, Shucks! Frankly, I'm just glad you musketeers are still enjoying this. Here is the latest data set. I haven't had the chance to get too far into testing it, but it sure starts off nice. I really dig the first week of signings - especially by the AWA; Backlund gets a new lease on things, as it should have been. And yeah, Dwight - you did inspire me to at least look into Sabu more. I happened upon about 5 matches of his not too long ago and came away greatly impressed by a couple of the bouts. At the very least, I can now make an informed opinion on the guy. While I do not grok that style of wrestling, I have so much respect for The Sheik that it is impossible for me not to appreciate Sabu - especially when Sabu breaks out the Sheik's mannerisms. It doesn't seem to happen very often - but in this one cage match against Jerry Lynn, Sabu literally became Farhat. I found that particular match wildly entertaining, heh. Take care! Xenodracon
I'm sure this has been mentioned somewhere in these 30+ pages, but I do love Ted the wrestling bear. Surprised no one has done a Dynasty journal for him yet.
captainlou
You're probably right about the wrestling magazines playing a role in the overness gained by some/most of the wrestlers. I used to read a wrestling magazine and it was printed on a monthly basis and usually came out in the middle to late part of the month. captainlou
Just wondering how those tweaks are going to the movesets and whatnot. Are you planning to reduce the number of cards for some of those promotions? I ask because I'm getting close to finishing 1984 in my Lyger diary and I'd like to update with the best possible version. Also, in a game I'm playing with Rookie to Legend, ASW and PPW keep cancelling touring shows due to a lack of workers. Is this because they are Garbage promotions? Anyone else had this problem? Maybe some more Garbage style workers are needed? Anyway, love the changes so far and anxiously awaiting the next step! It's probably due to the size of the promotion and the number of wrestlers on the roster. After looking at the promotions there are many scheduling conflicts and the wrestlers, at least the human controlled one anyway, is asked to go to the bigger territory. Take care! the thing with Sabu is that he was a damned good wrestler, who started taking more and more crazy bumps, and as a result, his body broke down REALLY fast. i've seen interviews with him where he talks about how he did a crazy bump in ECW, and Paul Heyman was like "did you see the crowd go nuts for that?? do it again!" and each week, the ante got upped, until it became impossible for Sabu to do anything other than something insane, because if he tried to actually wrestle, the crowd woulda crapped on it because they ewere expecting something else, namely, a guy slowly killing himself. Checkmate
I didn't notice it until today because I don't come across the move very often, the descriptor for "Headbutt to the back of the head" has you headbutting yourself.

Checkmate
No problem at all, man. Actually you have Afa to thank, was tagging with him in my awesome Greg Gange career.(Yes,I started a greg Gagne career,he's getting pretty good, the highlight has been WWF falling to National size and naming Andy Kaufman as Head Booker.) D. Boons Ghost
Not sure if anyone would be interested - but I am in the process of assigning the TEW05: DOTT worker profile pics to Wrestling Spirit: DOTT. The newer pictures seem to look a lot nicer, imho, if only for the conforming aspect. I'll be uploading the results/data to my site. At the very least, I'll be able to get the stuff off of PC Pages. Thanks!
captainlou
D.Boon, I have a table top wrestling game that I had bought back in 1984. One of the wrestlers had a gimmick and his ring name was Dr. Red Fang. The gimmick was that he was a dracula-like count from Transylvania. Have you heard of him or seen him while you were researching this terrific DOTT?
D. Boons Ghost
Heh - right. I can not remember the name of that game - Superstar Wrestling, or something like that? I ordered that game back then, as well. Ended up being horribly disappointed. I had made a game that my group of friends used to play that was a lot like Wrestling Spirit, actually - a pen and paper system that broke down wrestling movements into turns; move damage charts, strength v. weight charts for slams and such, 'desparation chances' - for when trying to save your stunned guy, even Kevin Sullivan's hypnosis - lol. I saw that SW game in the Apter mags and figured it had to have been better than the one I made. I was wrong. Not to disrespect it, as I know a ton of people have fond memories of that game. But I disliked it so much, I sent back the second set they sent to me in error. Heh. Not that I was an honest 13 year old, mind you. Anyway, about Dr. Red Fang: Supposedly, it was the game creator's dog. He created an entire character around the mutt that was his poking fun at the Sullivan devil angles in Florida - though this one, as you said, was from Transylvania. It's actually really funny, when you consider how many people have wondered exactly who was this cape wearing madman.
captainlou
No wonder I have never heard of him! Thanks for the info. I'll give my 2 dogs (part samoyan/part springer spanial) an extra treat in "honor" of the mysterious Dr. Fang. I'm sure that by now he is in doggie heaven. Today the pooch would have been around 147 in human years. Considering that WWE is pushing the nightmarish "Boogie Man" you would think that the "Transylvanian Count/Vampire" gimmick would be tried next. D. Boons Ghost
I corrected the first post links, but for those interested, here are the new links to the D.O.T.T. mod for Wrestling Spirit. Main Files: DOTT.zip Logos: logos.zip Belts: belts.zip People1: people1.zip People2: people2.zip People3: people3.zip People4: people4.zip Moves1: moves1.zip Moves2: moves2.zip *the wrestler profile pics come from the TEW05 DOTT scenario. As some of the name structures were changed, a few of the profile pics might need to be reassigned.
captainlou
I don't know if you have added them to your list of tag teams but during the late '80s there was a tag team named Strike Force in the WWF. The team comprised of Rick Martel and Tito Santana. I know that they weren't listed in the version that I have gotten from you last year. D. Boons Ghost
Thanks, Cap. And I guess this is as good a time as any to announce that D.O.T.T. will be making its way onto Wrestling Spirit 2 upon release. Hopefully, those of you that enjoyed this scenario will make the jump with us and continue to support our efforts in celebrating the kayfabe period. Thanks!
