Third Dynasty Attempt (Saves getting Corrupted :( )

Central Michigan (0-0) @ Colorado State (1-0) We are 15 point favorites in this game. We look to get another amazing Defensive game against another poor offense. We gave up 138 total yards to Arkansas State. 1st Quarter We get an 11 play 78 yard drive starting from our 6--and have a passing TD wiped out by offensive interference. Then we miss the field goal. A 6 minute drive with no points. Their next time isn't so lucky, as Edwards runs us into the red zone, and Lane gets the 1 yard TD plunge. 2nd Quarter They get a good punt return to start the quarter... They only had to go 30 yards for the Touchdown which ties the game at 7. Lane gets a huge 26 yard scramble on 3rd-15, and then finds Antwan Thompson in the end zone for a 16 yard TD! 3rd Quarter 14-14 now as they get a long pass and then a good goal line run in. We respond with an 11 play 85 yard drive, all on the ground, for a touchdown of our own. 21-14 Rams. 4th Quarter We start the quarter with a good drive and a 24 yard field goal. That makes it 24-14 Rams. We have outgained them 396-165. We have 3 potential 100 yard rushers today. A completely dominating performance by the Rams so far--if only the scoreboard were a bit better... They punt, and we get the game-ending 7 minute 17 play drive that adds a field goal but runs the clock down to 4 minutes. 27-14 Rams. We get another INT to finish them off. The defense came up with 7 sacks and 2 interceptions. Lane had an excellent game for an option QB. 8/13 92 yards 1 TD 0 INT. He didn't force anything and made a passing play or two when necessary...and he ran 12 times for 100 yards and a TD. He made plays happen on the ground and in the air. FB Robert Young got 14 carries for 117 yards, and Edwards gained 89 yards on 22 carries. A beautiful three-headed monster of a running game.

NOTE: (We play this game in real life tommorrow--except it is at their crappy stadium in Reno, Nevada. I was going to go to this game--even though I would have had to take an 11 hour shuttle bus to get their--but my roomate backed out  so I decided not to go either.) Nevada (1-0) @ Colorado State (2-0) We continue our tuneup before the real Mountain West season gets going. Today, we kill Nevada. We are favored by 16, and I think we will cover the spread. 1st Quarter We start the game with a 14 play 61 yard drive that picks up a field goal. This is Rams football, taking 6 minutes off the clock and wear down their defense. 6-0 Rams. They counter with an 11 play drive for a FG of their own, and as we start our 2nd drive, less than 4 minutes remain in the first quarter. 2nd Quarter Our next drive covers 65 yards over 10 plays ending in a 4 yard Daniel Lane TD run. 10-3 Rams. They get an 8 play 57 yard drive of their own, but we keep them out of the end zone. 10-6 Rams. We are happy with the offense, but their offense is running wild on our defense. We get a 56 yard pass, and turn that play into a field goal. 13-6 Rams. They get another drive, but we turn it back with a nice sack and hold them to a field goal. 13-9 Rams. Every possession of this game has ended in points, yet there are only 22 points total. What a strange game. 1:30 left in the first half, and we will try to get a 2 minute drive with stronger armed Juarez at QB. That didn't take long. We exploit their weak secondary with a 67 yard strike from Juarez to Quiroz. It's Quiroz first large gain of the season. 20-9 Rams. 3rd Quarter We finally stop them and force the first punt of the game. Juarez to TE Luther Campbell makes a 42 yard TD on 3rd-17. 27-9 Rams. Juarez was in because it was a long 3rd-down play. 4th Quarter Lane is hurt on a QB scramble. He is doubtful for 3-5 weeks. Ouch! Frank Anderson, the better running of the remaining QB's, will take over. Late in the game, Bryan Perkins takes off and goes 34 yards for a TD. This is one of his first good runs in 3 years as a Ram. 34-9 Rams now. 501 yards for CSU in the romp. Edwards with 74 yards and Young with 67 led 4 rushers with 40+ yards for the Rams today. We also had two quaterbacks (Lane, Juarez) throw for over 100 yards. The defense was a bit shaky allowing 300 total yards, but held them to field goals. In all, a dominant win for the Rams!

San Diego State (1-2) @ Colorado State (3-0) We are 4 point favorites, and normally I would worry about this game. However, SDSU has not been good this year, and we have been fantastic (#32 offense, #4 defense). We are +160 total yards a game versus our opponents. 1st Quarter We get the ball first and go 44 yards on 10 plays to set up a long field goal, which we make. 3-0 Rams. Our next drive: 13 plays, 97 yards! 14 yard TD pass from Anderson to WR Charles Davis for the TD. 10-0 Rams. 2nd Quarter We hold them to a 3 and out, and then we get an 11 play drive that got us into field goal range. 13-0 Rams. Anderson finds Thompson for a 48 yard completion with 31 seconds left, and we may score again before the half ends. Anderson then gets a 22 yard scramble. We get to the 1, but Anderson is then sacked, so we take the field goal. 16-0 Rams at the half. 3rd Quarter 322-77 total yards favor Rams so far  . What a crushing game for the Aztecs. Oh wait! I speak to soon, as they now hook up on a 66 yard TD pass and 2-pt conversion. 16-8 Rams. We answer their drive with a 71 yard 15 play drive ending in a field goal. 19-8 Rams. They get in field goal range, but the 47-yarder is wide right. Still 19-8, and with only 2 minutes left in the 3rd quarter, I think we can run them out of time. No wait! A ridiculous offside penalty give them new life. They go nowhere, but the field goal this time is good. 19-11 Rams, and this is a whole new ballgame, since we only lead by 1 possession. 4th Quarter Anderson has had enough of the close game, and finds Thompson for a 71 yard TD pass. 26-11 Rams. Then, best player on the D; SS Larry Daniels picks an Aztec pass and returns it 86 yards for a Ram TD. 33-11 now, and we are turning this into a blowout. We add one more field goal. Final score: Rams 36 Aztecs 11. We outgain them 551 to 276 in total yards. Anderson goes 14/19 221 yards 2 Touchdowns, and Anderson runs 9 times for 121 yards. What a great game for the backup QB. Also, Edwards and Young ran for over 60 yards each, and Thompson catches over 100 yards of passes.

Next Up: A VERY interesting matchup. UNLV (2-1) @ Colorado State (4-0) UNLV, while not having an overwhelming amount of talent, has the #2 defense in the nation, and #1 against the run. We have the #1 rushing offense in that nation, at 280.2 yards per game. #1 rush offense versus #1 rush defense. Should be fascinating. 1st Quarter We got 43 (mostly QB) rushing yards on our first drive as we got a field goal. 3-0 Rams. They get an FG of their own on their first drive. 3-3 2nd Quarter We collect a fumble deep in Rebels territory and get a field goal from it. 6-3 Rams. We add another FG to make it 9-3. That would be the score at halftime. We have 108 yards rushing at the half. Big play alert! They get a 42 yard pass leading to a nice drive. On the last play of the 3rd quarter, they get a 13 yard TD run. 10-9 Rebels. Our offense needs to produce more than 3 field goals to win a game. 3rd Quarter This section is left intentionally blank... the only thing that happened were punts. 4rd Quarter We get to their 10, and Anderson is then picked off. We quickly intercept them back, and then we hit Thompson with a 27 yard TD pass (2pt play is good.) 17-10 Rams. We hold them and get the ball at our own 1 yard line with 6 minutes left. We get to the 35, but Anderson fumbles it away. We then sack them, but they throw a 51 yard TD pass. We get it back in a tied game with 2:34 left. Gain of 40 on our first play as we fire complete to Quiroz. We get to 1st and goal and then run it 3 times in a row, but don't get to the end zone. We run the clock down to 28 seconds though before getting the game-winning field goal. They don't get anything in the final seconds, and we hold on to the 20-17 victory. A tight exciting game, we ran for 170 yards, but mostly from Qb's and they smacked our RB's in the backfield alot. We play an exciting style of game, I think, with our QB's rushing for 100 yards a game, and the option is fun. And our defense is quite good! I love this team, and we are 5-0 (2-0) now.

We are still in the 30's in the polls, but this week will change that. Colorado State (5-0) @ Utah (3-0) We are 4 point underdogs, and Utah has a solid team. They have a 79 rated OT. Luckily, DT/DE is our best defensive position. They have a good offense, but I think we can run on their D. Expect more yards and points than the average CSU game this year. 1st Quarter Utah strikes first with a rushing TD. They add another field goal after a long punt return. 10-0 Utes. We need to get going before they get too large a lead. 2nd Quarter It took us 25 minutes, but we got a stereotypical option Rams drive going, and Anderson plunged in from a yard out. 10-7 Utes. They make a 2 minute drive happen though, and kick an FG to make it 13-7 at the half. 3rd Quarter 10 minutes of offense success for both teams, but we don't get anything from our 70 total yards. They, however, add a field goal. 16-7 now. We get a field goal late in the 3rd after a nice drive. 16-10 Utes. 4th Quarter They get back down the field, and to our 5, but we hold them to a field goal. 19-10 Utes and we need something to happen fast. 19-10 them with 13 minutes left. We get to the 12, and then Commit 3 damned penalties, as we pick up 28 yards after arriving at their 12, and yet we still settle for an FG. It is unbelievable how clipping and holding both have to happen now. 19-13 Utes. They then get a 62 yard rush for TD, and this one is over 25-13 Utes with 4 minutes left. They add an FG and they win 28-13. They outgained us 462-235. Our defense certainly was poor today, but the blame lies with the offense commiting 8 penalties on offense alone, and Edwards gaining 33 yards on 18 carries. That doesn't work. We deserved to lose.

Ok, our perfect season is shot. However, we can still win the conference. We are very depressed this week, but we can still turn things around if we don't mope and get back to our winning ways. BYU (3-4) @Colorado State (6-1) We should steamroll. We are 13 point favorites. 2nd Quarter We have out-time possessed them 13 minutes to 3. We add another FG to start the quarter. 6-0 Rams. Another long drive, another field goal for the Rams. 9-0 now. Lane is 8/8 76 yards now--maybe I should throw more. 3rd Quarter We recover a fumble after a sack at their 10. We seek the killer TD now. Lane goes 10 yards for the TD! The 2-pt conversion is no good. 15-0 Rams. 22-0 CSU after Daniel Lane gets another 10 yard QB scramble for TD. What a game for Lane so far. 4th Quarter 22-6 (no 2-pt) as they complete a bomb pass with 58 seconds left. We are sad to lose the shutout but are VERY happy with the game. FB Young gets 16 carries for 128 yards, Lane gets 17 for 103 2 Touchdowns, and Edwards takes 26 carries for 91 yards. Also, Lane threw for over 200 yards and 75% completion ratio. In all, we achieved complete dominance in all areas of the game. 534 total yards for us, under 200 for them.

Colorado State (7-1) @ New Mexico (2-5) We are 8 point favorites, and the still unranked Rams will once again get an easy win. I know we have played bad opposition, but still, why can't we get a ranking. We are #21 in CPU rating, have the #22 offense, and #1 defense in that nation. We would be an irritating play for a major conference opponent anyway. 1st Quarter Daniel Lane is the starter today at QB, Lane and Anderson are both healthy again, though Quarez is still questionable for the game. New Mexico gets the only points of the quarter on a 42 yard field goal. We got more total yards, and a 60 yard drive, but a crackback block call took us out of field goal range on that drive. 2nd Quarter Lane still hasn't completed a pass yet 20 minutes into the game, going 0/5 so far. They then get a touchdown pass on a long 70 yard drive. We are in trouble now, though they missed their Xtra Point. 9-0 Lobos. We get down the field with a 13 play 91 yard drive ending in a 22 yard FG before the end of the half. 9-3 Lobos at the half. 3rd Quarter Momentum switches to start the quarter as we get a 5 play 69 yard TD drive with a bomb pass to Quiroz getting us in the red zone. Young then catches a 1 yard TD pass. 10-9 Rams. They then get a 12 play 56 yard TD drive and 2pt play and they lead 17-10. They beat our defense both on the ground and in the air. Our defense is far superior in talent to their offense, but our defense isn't making plays, and they haven't forced a turnover yet. We get a 16 play 72 yard drive, but Lane fumbles it away at their 5. 4th Quarter We then get a 10 play drive for 66 yards, but settle for an FG. 17-13 with 9 minutes left. 28 yard TD pass for them with 5 minutes left and they lead 24-13. What is up with us losing to New Mexico? They only have won 2 games this year. Now we get the ball at our own 6 yard line. The game hates us. 61 yard completion to Thompson on first down, and we are still alive! We go nowhere, and we have to try a 49 yard field goal with 2:31 left or go for 4th-9. We miss the field goal, and the Rams drop another game. A shocking and terrible loss. We are HUGELY dissappointed, and will not make it to the top 25 this year. We relied to much on Lane 13/24 210 yards 1 TD 0 INT, and Lane also ran for 113 yards. I thought this would be good enough to win, and Edwards added 83 yards as well, but we just couldn't get points out of the drives. Also, our defense needs to do better. 24 points to a bad New Mexico team? What is up with the D? We need to recover next week, so that this doesn's spiral into a season-killing event.

Air Force (4-4) @ Colorado State (7-2) We are 7 point favorites, and we will WIN this game. New Mexico was a fluke, at least that is what I have been saying all week to the team. Another loss here would be disastrous. We want a good prestige year, and we can still get to a decent bowl if we win out. 1st Quarter We score first with a FG after they fumbled away a punt and we got a short drive for the score. 3-0 Rams. AFA has a #9 overall recruit at HB on their team--their only good player--but he is eating our D alive. He leads them into field goal range and they tie the game. He is only a sophomore, and this transfer could be quite a problem for us over the next few years. He is rated (77/86). We are hoping he will go pro early, like Simmons did when he transfered here. We get another lengthy drive and add a 2nd field goal before the end of the quarter. 2nd Quarter Another decent drive for us, but our kicker snaps the 32 yard try hard left, and it wasn't even close. Their QB is 10/11 94 yards passing so far... But we hold their 60 yard drive to a field goal, by tackling a screen play for a 6 yard gain when it was 3rd-7. 6-6 tie now. We get a 15 play 65 yard drive after this...but again, only a field goal. 9-6 Rams. Their superstar RB then takes a screen 61 yards for a TD and they lead 13-9 at the half. 3rd Quarter After holding them to a 3 & Out, we get a 33 yard drive, and take a long field goal. 13-12 Falcons. Why can't my team score in the red zone?!? 20-12 Falcons now as they get a pass to their superstar RB for a short touchdown. Another long drive...another field goal. 20-15 Falcons at the end of 3. Edwards is averaging less than 2 yards a carry, so Lane has thrown 20 times now, and this isn't our offense. We need to run to win. No! The FG is no good. 20-12 still. 4th Quarter 4th-G stuffed at their 1!  We just SUCK today. Lane couldn't gain a yard on 3rd or 4th down! They then convert a crucial 4th-2 at our 30 with 9 minutes left. Their kicker is now 3/3 with 5 minutes left as they dragged down the clock and take a 23-12 lead. The kickers are the difference, as theirs in perfect, and ours is 4/6. If ours were perfect, it would be 23-18, and we would be doing ok. Instead, we need an FG, TD, and 2-pt conversion to tie the game in 5 minutes. 11 plays 80 yards Touchdown run for Lane, though we passed most of the way. 23-18, and we need a 2pt play now. Conversion is good on a 3 yard pass to Davis. 23-20, and we need an onside recovery. They got the onside with a minute left. Now we need to hold them--we still have all 3 timeouts. No timeouts and 11 seconds left for us. (Could the timeout system please be fixed--I should have 45 seconds left.) We get 2 incompletions, and we lose another shocker. The big fault lies with Edwards, for getting only 33 yards on 15 carries. We need MORE from him. :( . The defense was ok, not great, but we got almost 400 yards total offense, so we should have scored more than 23. Lane threw the ball 35 times today, which is way to many for our offense, but Edwards/Young got less than 3 yards per carry combined. Lane did complete 23 passes, but they were generall short. Also, come on kicker--4/6 is not good enough. 5/6 and we are in overtime...6/6 and we win. Damn kickers.

CSU (7-3) @ TCU (7-2) They are 7 point favorites. We need this game to get confidence before we play Colorado and then a bowl game. They have a better team than us, but their run defense isn't so good--and that is our strong point. 1st Quarter Our 2nd drive was quite eventful: 16 plays 67 yards. We got to their 4 where it was 4th-2. We went for it, since the team has been suffering from field goalitis in the red zone recently. Lane ran a QB sneak and got 2. Then Edwards got 1,-3, and 3. So we had 4th-G a the 1. Of course I have to go for this one too... And Lane dives in for the TD on a keeper. 7-0 Rams. 2nd Quarter TCU gets a 3 play 55 yard drive to tie up the game. After bad drives from us, TCU gets going again with a 72 yard drive. They set up 2nd-G at our 3. From there, their QB goes back to pass, and is sacked... Daniel Ferrell, a DE with 10 sacks for the Rams this season, now picks up the fumble and runs it back 94 yards for a TD!!! What a turnaround. We lead 14-7 instead of being down 14-7! We kickoff with a minute left, and a clipping penalty backs them up to their 15. They don't gain a yard on their possession, and they punt with 32 seconds left. They kick it 39 yards, but we return it 42 yards to their 12 with 24 seconds left in the half. Then, a rare event for this year's Rams: A passing touchdown. Lane to Quiroz for 11 yards and a score. We lead 21-7 at the half. It had been 7-7 with them at our 3, just two minutes ago, now we lead by two touchdowns. This is probably the best two minute turnaround I've ever seen in this game. 3rd Quarter We get the ball to start the 3rd, and we quickly move down the field and get a field goal. 24-7 Rams now. We get another long drive, and Lane finds FB Robert Young for the TD play. 31-7 Rams. We add another field goal before the quarter ends. 4th Quarter Lane flips another short TD pass to Robert Young. 41-7 Rams. Both sides add field goals... we get one more. Final 47-10 Rams!!! :) :D We only got 358 total yards and Edwards had a poor game (29 carries, 93 yards) average wise--but the turnovers were what made the game for us. The 94 yard Fumble return was incredible to watch. We need to carry this momentum into next week! Also, 3 passing TD's from Lane next week would be nice.

However, their top 2 linebackers, including a (76) rated one, are out, so we should be able to get a running game. 1st Quarter We get the first points on a 49 yard field goal. That drive was set up by a 21 yard Lane scramble. 2nd Quarter Both teams are struggling to move the ball, but the Buffaloes put together a decent 42 yard drive setting up a 40 yard field goal. We are tied at 3. We already had a 6 play 29 yard drive going, and then Lane found Quiroz for a 47 yard pass, and we go to their 4 yard line. David Lane then scrambles for the TD after the screen pass didn't work out, but Lane used his mobility. 10-3 Rams. They get two more field goals before the end of the half. We are still happy. We outgained them 150-137 at the half and have a nice 10-9 lead at the half of the Rocky Mountain Showdown. 3rd Quarter 17 plays--81 yards TD on 4th down and Goal for us. Lane gets a 1 yard TD on 4th down. Almost all on the ground for us. 17-9 Rams. No more offense for awhile, and then with 2 minutes left, on 3rd-25, we find Thompson for a 29 yard completion! What a play for us. 4th Quarter That drive leads to a 44 yard field goal try, but our usually good kicker leaves it short. That kick could have put the game out of reach. We potentially got in trouble with Lane fumbling it away at midfield. However, CU promptly threw an interception and we have it at midfield with 9 minutes left. Our kicker would get another chance to put this one out of reach, and he tried a 46 yarder with 6 minutes left. This one is good, and the Rams lead the Rocky Mountain Showdown 20-9. Colorado gets back down the field and get a 74 yard TD drive and a 2pt conversion. However, it took 4 minutes, and they are down to 2 minutes to get the ball back. They didn't even try the onside--so they must hold us now. We return the kickoff to our own 38, and then on first down, our FB goes 12 yards for a first down. We get to 3rd-9 but then Edwards gets 11 and we can run out the clock. We got just over 300 total yards, but 100 from Edwards and Lane, and almost 100 through the air. It wasn't a fantastic game, but it was very good, and we are happy.

MWC foe #6 Utah (11-1) will be in the playoffs with an intriguing matchup as a #5 seed against the #11 seed Ohio State (8-3) who is #12 in the country. I think this Utah team can win the national championship. We finish 9-3 (5-3) and get shafted, getting only to the Poinsettia Bowl against California (6-5). This Cal team does have the #20 offense and #10 defense in the nation though. They have lots of depth but no stars, in fact their top player is a (70 rated guy) which isn't so good, but almost all their starters are 60 plus. We are 9 point dogs, and I think we will lose, but by less than that. 1st Quarter We take the opening kickoff and go 77 yards on 14 plays, with Lane finding Thompson for the 13 yard TD pass. Lane is hurt now, but Anderson is a capable backup and takes over on a nice drive already in progress. 2nd Quarter We lead in total yards 124-19 after the first quarter. We are in scoring range again. Anderson finishes the drive with a handoff to Edwards who gets the TD run. 18 plays, 81 yards for us and it took 8 minutes off the clock! What a drive for us. Anderson is doing fine so far as the fill-in QB. We lead TOP 14 minutes to 4 now. Their next drive goes nicely, but a penalty backs them up to 3rd-Goal at the 24. However, they then get a 24 yard TD pass to get the lead down to 14-7. They get another long drive, but they miss a 48 yard field goal with 2 minutes left in the half. At least we will keep our lead at the half, but we our offense has run our of steam. Wow! We punt it away, but their QB then fumbles it away and we take it at their 33 with about a minute left in the half. Face Mask (15 yard variety) and we are clearly in field goal range now. We run out of downs, not time, and settle for a 30 yard field goal. The gift from the Bears gives us a 17-7 lead at the half. 3rd Quarter Cal gets an 85 yard drive to start the quarter, but we stuff their FB on 3rd-G at the 1. They take the 19 yard field goal instead of going for it. 17-10 Rams. We then drop the kickoff, and they get it at our 20. They then get a 20 yard TD drive to tie the game. They then had a 35 yard field goal try for the lead, but it is wide left. 4th Quarter We are still tied at 17, though they have outgained us, and our rushing game has not been working very well. They should be up by 10. They then get a 44 yard bomb pass, and then a quick TD run. We quickly turn it over, and they run the INT back for a TD. 31-17, and they would add another FG to make it 34-17 final. We played a good game, but Edwards didn't get enough yards (48) and Anderson ended up not being nearly as effective as Lane. Utah rolled over Ohio State 28-3, but dropped to #2 Alabama 34-23 to get knocked out. #2 Alabama beats #3 Tennessee in the national championship game, a revenge match as Tennessee won the regular season fight. We are happy with the year-- 9-4 should be good for our prestige. Sadly, many pieces of the team will not return... however, we lose: DE William Lambert (64)--13 sacks this season--26 as a Ram. DE Ray Robinson (55)--9 career sacks CB Freddie Brown (57)--10 career interceptions. CB Gerard Hicks (67)--The biggest loss for our team. He was our lockdown corner for several seasons, WR Kurt Quiroz (63)--177 catches 2323 yards 11 Touchdowns in his career. WR Antwan Thompson (63)--Was a nice juco player for us. Caught 600 yards and 4 TD's this year. WR Terry Waller (53)--was always around #4 WR. Caught 499 yards on 41 catches and 4 TD's at CSU. OG Robin Hurley (69) DE Daniel Ferrell (67)--13 sacks this year. DE Nicholas Jones (61) We lose almost all our of D-line this year. DT Jeffrey Green (59) OLB Alex Lugo (62) OLB Ron Milligan (58) SS William Shaffer (55) We lose 10 starters. That will hurt us...but the pieces of our rushing attack return, including our running back, QB's, 4 offensive linemen, and our Tight Ends.
Bowl Bound - 2010 Colorado State Rams Stats

Colorado State @ Ball State Week 1 game. We will warm up with a nice blowout of Ball State. We are 15 point favorites, and we can expect to win by at least that margin. Their team is horrible. 1st Quarter 11 plays 80 yards TD for the Rams, as new QB Davis goes 3/3 and Edwards gets 40 yards rushing and a TD. Ball State manages to come up with an 11 play 59 yard drive, but we limit their effort to an FG. Davis' first career carry goes for 6 yards, but ends in a fumble to Ball State. They get a TD off the short field and they lead 10-7 at the end of 1 quarter. 2nd Quarter Davis is hurt (probable 2-4 weeks) so Lane is back at QB. He comes on and throws a TD pass on his first throw of the year to Chas Robinson. 14-10 Rams. With 2 minutes left in the half, we intercept Ball State at their 30. We should get more points before the half ends. Edwards gets a beautiful 16 yard TD run. 21-10 Rams. 3rd Quarter So far, both Rams QB's have completed all 6 of their passes. The Rams passing attack is 12/12 for 109 yards and a TD! We would pass more, but Edwards has 71 yards and 2 touchdowns on 15 carries. We get another TD halfway through the quarter on another Edwards rushing TD, his 3rd of the game. 4th Quarter 31-10 Rams after we added a field goal. 31-17 after Ball State gets a 43 yard TD pass. Our secondary is not a strength on our team. Daniel Lane flips a screen pass to Leonel Herbert and it goes down as a 44 yard TD pass! 38-17 Rams now. Ball State races back down the field, and they get a TD but only 1 minute remains. 38-24 Rams. Our secondary is getting exposed. Their QB is 18/28 272 2 TD's, however, we have picked him off 3 times. 45-24 is the final, as Lane finds Cantu with a 49 yard pass, and then Edward gets his fourth TD, this time from 6 yards out. Edwards had 27 carries for 118 yards and 4 TD's, and our QB's threw for 200 yards combined and missed only 1 pass, with a 94% completion percentage for the game! We are thrilled. Yes, it was Ball State, but we were dominant.
