M 2 DA H
I downloaded it and went to set it up but it says i have a newer version. But still it says when i click on it: "Run-time error '-2147024770 (8007007e)': Automation error The Specified module could not be found." I don't know what to do, i also downloaded some of the other updates but it says i have newer versions of them so there is no need to install. Adam Ryland
Sorry to hear that. We seem to have about 6 or 7 people per game who get this, and I don't know how to solve it. It must be that some sort of dependency is missing, or some setting is different to everyone elses - unfortunately I don't know of a way to find out what it is, as it must be specific to those few PCs, not the game itself. EDIT - Just did some more research to see if anything new popped up, please try installing java 1.42 and restarting your machine (taken from this topic). Incidentally, do you have EWR or TEW on your machine, and do either of them work? EDIT - Found this as a description of the problem "Specified OLE object is registered as an in-process OLE server (.dll file), but the .dll file could not be found or loaded.". Did the installation process cut out before the end, as that might explain why the DLLs are not registered? You could try the solution to the last point in the FAQ, that might work. I will try and install java 1.42 now and see what happens. Adam Ryland
OK, if that fails I have another idea, where we'll go through each of your DLLs and see if we can spot one that is missing. But that's a last resort as it could take ages and isn't guaranteed to prove anything.
M 2 DA H
I'VE GOT IT WORKING!!! or should i say you did. lol I tried this and it worked:
If that doesn't work, click Run from your Windows Start menu, and type: Regsvr32 scrrun.dll (and press enter) Regsvr32 quartz.dll (and press enter) Regsvr32 dx8vb.dll (and press enter) Regsvr32 ovscombo2d.ocx (and press enter) Regsvr32 ovsbooleancontrols.ocx (and press enter) You should now be able to play the game.
Thanks alot dude, lets hope i really enjoy the demo and then i can buy the full version.
