Does Puroresu = Japanese Pro-Wrestling? Do you have an all Japanese Mod? If it's already posted, probably can find it with just the name. I just don't know what one would call it. I'm not just interested in Japanese Wrestling, but anybody that has insight on any specific place (UK, Europe, Mexico, etc.):-)

I have a question! What's the current status of the women's promotions? I'm going to be in the Far East in February and figured I'd try to catch some shows. I know about Ibuki (being the HUGE Mariko Yoshida fan I am) but not much about any of the others since GAEA and AJW went under. And since you would probably know best, what's the real difference(s) between the women's promotions?

I personally would also go see JWP, as Tsubasa Kuragaki is one of my favourites.

I've got a question that's sort of related. Can you (or anyone else) read Japanese? And if so, what do these two bits of writing mean? (well, i'm assuming that's Japanese writing. Could be Mandarin or Spanish for all I know! ;))
Are any Japanese feds sports entertainment a la WWE?
This is where it gets interesting ;) First your have HUSTLE, which isn't actually considered a wrestling promotion in Japan. It has over the top heavy storylines 'sports entertainment' aspects, with very little actual in-ring wrestling. It's not for everyone Then you have Dramatic Dream Team, which is, in a way, a rip-off of the WWE. Sanshiro Takagi, is the owner, and does commentary for Smackdown! on Samurai TV! The promotion doesn't take it's storylines seriously, and neither do its fans. It's one giant comedy promotion with some awesome wrestling in it. I mean, how can you take a Snake God trying to poison the whole promotion seriously? Or hell, Touro Owashi being molested by she-males so he can withstand the gay antics of Danshoku Dino for their KO-D Openweight Title fight! DDT I love greatly.
What is the obsession with masked wrestlers?
Generally masked wrestlers are in promotions that take heavily from the Lucha Libre style. There aren't as many as in Lucha Libre.
Who are your top-three male wrestlers (Japanese) and why?
Interesting question. Do you mean for talent, or do you mean for drawing power, or overall? Right now, Masahiro Chono is the biggest draw. He is basically the Hulk Hogan of Japan. He is talented, can work a match, helps book NJPW, and draws, draws, draws. After that, it gets weird. Misawa, Kobashi, Nagata, Fujinami etc. will draw no matter what, or where they are at. Then you have juniors. Liger draws everywhere. Yeah. There are heaps of talent and draws. UNDERTAKER: That looks Chinese to me, and I can't read it so well anymore :( If it's japanese, I have no hope. Japanese takes heavily from Chinese anyway.

I had started a thread about good wrestling videos on Youtube. Since no one has replied there, maybe someone can suggest a few that I could watch that are on Youtube? I've watched Kenta vs Kenta Kobashi and I watched Bambi vs Tsubasa Kuragaki and I watch Samoa Joe vs a young Japanese guy who beat Joe with an armbar after Joe had had the best of the match I think is was Masao Yohtei or something like that. If anyone knows any that are on Youtube that I should watch, please suggest them.
