From ECW.com
In what has already been an incredibly eventful week for wrestling, yet another bombshell has rocked thousands of fans. On Saturday Night, ECW broadcast a controversial angle, in which the World Heavyweight Champion, Raven, made reference to Sabu's race and supposed religion. As a result of overwhelming complaints, the hit international TV show Blood, Sweat And Beers has been taken off air. "Frankly, this is ridiculous!" said Raven "Sorry to break it to you, but Sabu ain't called Sabu in real life, he ain't Indian and he's nothing close to being any form of sheik. He was born in Detroit for crying out loud!" When asked if he thought his comments could offend Muslim viewers Raven replied "I am truly sorry if you think I went out of my way to upset anyone. However, this is ECW and the whole company works on a premise of pushing the envelope!" Despite Raven's protest, CBS insists that a verbal warning was given to ECW officials before the show was broadcast that specifically asked for the content of the angle to be toned down. So, some may consider it no wonder that the network showed little hesitation in axing ECW's flagship show, an action that will, surely, lose the promotion countless fans.
BREAKING NEWS. TNA SIGNS HUGE ECW STAR!! Steve Gerweck In a stunning move that has shocked the wrestling world, Total Non-Stop Wrestling (TNA) has signed former Olympic Gold Medallist Kurt Angle away from ECW. This comes as a huge surprise to many as it was said that Kurt was happy in ECW. Upon further digging, we at Gerweck.net have found out that Kurt was very upset with the angle involving Raven and Sabu in regards to the racial slurs that got them kicked off of CBS. Kurt was always against the more racy angles in wrestling and it is well documented in the past. Kurt’s first contract offering in pro-wrestling came from ECW back in the early 90’s. After attending the show and seeing the infamous Crucifixion angle that night, Kurt decided against joining the company. He then went to the WWF where he had a lengthy run until they started running some of the raciest angles in wrestling history (they held a necrophilia angle involving Triple H dressed up as Kane with the so called corpse of someone Kane was reported to have murdered). Kurt left them and then returned to a more toned-down ECW. Now once again Kurt has reached his limit with yet another wrestling company. It turns out that Kurt’s contract was due to expire in a couple of days and it was assumed that he would resign with ECW. However when TNA heard of Angle’s unhappiness, they jumped at the opportunity. We will have more on this breaking story as it develops and we hope to get a word with Kurt Angle as well.

Jeff Jarrett to take legal action against ECW? by Dave Meltzer Today, it has become clear that the new and exciting upstart brand, known as TNA, has hit financial difficulties before even holding their first show. The initial injection of funds into the company, provided by Panda Energy, was supposed to be matched by the National Wrestling Alliance. However, after careful reconsideration, it appears that the NWA are only able to invest half of what was originally agreed. This means that, due to the huge money sum that was offered to Kurt Angle, TNA are desperately seeking some extra finance. To make the situation even more chaotic, it appears that it is coming from ECW, the very company that TNA are in direct competition with. You may ask "How?" In the form of a lawsuit. Because Jeff Jarrett, while working for ECW, was not given the number of pay-per-view appearances that were promised in his contract, he has grounds to sue his former employers for Loss Of Earnings and Breach Of Contract. If he were to succeed, this would not only supply TNA with the money they need but would also deal a potentially crippling blow to the competition!
