One question on the in-season recruit visits. Is there a certain number each season, or is it dependent on how many home games a team has? It would give an very slight edge to a team with 8 home games, versus 5 or 6 if that's the case, though not sure how much a difference that would really make by the end of the recruiting season.
You can have one player visit per home game.
It would give an very slight edge to a team with 8 home games, versus 5 or 6 if that's the case, though not sure how much a difference that would really make by the end of the recruiting season.
That's true, but if you schedule players for 8 home games and win 5, you will be actually losing a bit on the 3 you recruited on games you lost. So, I don't think it would be a major factor - still, it makes sense to be smart with your visits.
It seems as if you are a poor team like FIU and you have a home game against a good team like Miami or Florida that it would not benefit you to have anyone visit because you will probably lose. Is this correct?
That is correct. You really only want visits on games you will win. Still, if it's against a marquee teams, it will probably be a net "zero" in that you will lose interest for losing but gain a bit for playing a top team.

I know as a recruit I'd be impressed if say Rice, had Texas visiting and played them tough and had a reasonable chance of winning.

Are there any advantages for a mid program to schedule a top prestige team? I don't know if there's not why would you schedule a tough game. The board wants wins, do you make more money if you go on the road to get creamed? I have asked this before, but it was on last year's game ond was wondering if the beta version was different.thanks

Arlie I have seen some poll abnormailties. I have added 48 D-1AA programs to my 1-A file. Wtih all the 1-AA schools having a prestigue of 10-15 and a conference prestigue of 5. ACC, Big East, Pac10, etc.. is a 1 prestigue. Week 12 #2 Northwestern State (La) (cpres: 5, prest: 15, SOS: 146, rec: 10-0) #13 Pitt (cpres: 1, prest: 60, SOS 43, rec 10-0) Week 16: #2 Northwestern State (La) (cpres: 5, prest: 15, SOS: 133, rec: 11-0) #3 Notre Dame (cpres: 4, prest: 70, SOS: 76, rec: 10-1) #4 Pitt (cpres: 1, prest: 60, SOS 37, rec 11-0) I noticed a checkup logic near the end of the season, where Pitt started to climb the polls really quick the last 5 weeks, But I dont see how a weak team, from a weak conference was ahead of them. Also NWSt only beat one team that was not from a conference with a prestigue of 5, and that was South Florida (3-8). I think the conference prestigue should have a little bit more of a factor in the polls, but that might be the reason why we where seeing a 3-4 Michigan team ranked #8 in the old verson? But i guess this would be a double edged sword becuase Notre Dame would be SOL to an extent since the Indep is a cprest of 4. Maybe SOS could be the key to it.

The conference prestige values in the table only dictate conference movement. Because of what you stated, the "GDCS" automatic bid flag is the only factor that impacts conference standing in the polls. So, if a team from a league with a GDCS auto bid is "tied" with a team from a league without (by tied I mean similar factors for polling), the league from the GDCS auto-bid league will be rated higher. I'll do another check on logic before releasing today's beta though.

ok that makes sense, I am making the file to be a based in 1989. With all the old bowl tie-ins (ie Rose Big10 vs Pac10; Cotton, SWC, Orange, Big 8 etc...) With this I have 4 BCS bowls setup. One of the Bowls gets #1 vs #2, the other 3 bowl games are files up with the 6 conference champions from the Div1-AA conferences I inserted into the game. None of the normal big conferences (ACC, Big 10, Big 8, Pac10 etc...) get auto GDCS bids.
