Ramfan77
Eastern Michigan (2-3) @ Evansville (2-2) Yet again, we have more talent than EMU and we have a 7 point edge in the betting line. Will Carter dominate again and can Riley have another good game? 1st Quarter 11:19 We get down the field, but settle for an FG. 3-0 Purple Aces. 7:13 Their offense gets down the field as well to get the field goal back. 2nd Quarter After a quiet 1st quarter, we finally got a break. They shockingly faked a punt of 4th-1 from their own 41. Now we get it in good field position early in the 2nd quarter. 6:58 We went 3 and out, and then they go down the field. We thought we'd stopped them, but their kicker connected from 51 yards away. 6-3 EMU. 0:05 Gonzales makes a field goal on a nice 2 minute drill for us to tie it up at halftime. However, they have outgained us 174 to 104 so far. Carter is only 9/19 for 52 yards 0 TD 0 INT. For a big-play QB, we expect more than 6 yards a completion. However, Riley has 33 first-half yards, which is a decent start for him. 3rd Quarter 8:49 They get 1st-G at our 8, but settle for a long FG after two penalties. 9-6 EMU now. 2:22 Finally a spark for our offense--when we convert a 4th-1 at their 41. We are now thinking points. 1:16 Gain of 16 to Patrick Combs and we are in field goal range. 0:00 We make a 29 yard field goal to tie the game at 9 after 3 quarters. 4th Quarter 14:27 We intercept them at midfield and in good position again. 11:37 Gonzales hits from 40 yards as we grind into field goal range. 12-9 Purple Aces. 9:23 The defense is winning the game for us now. We recover a fumble at our own 46. Again, we start in good field position. 7:12 We get picked at their 12 yard line. We could have put it away there. 3:48 3rd-2 from our 42 is coming up. We would love a defensive stop here. 3:34 Loss of 3 on a sweep and they punt. We take over at our 6 yard line. Two first downs could run out the clock here. 2:45 Gain of 14 for Dana Riley off left tackle and we are feeling more confident. 1:46 We have to punt after our 3rd-9 pass only picked up 5. 1:16 A shanked 25 yard punt puts them at midfield--and their kicker has already hit from 51. However, our main focus--don't give up something deep. 1:01 37 yard pass, and they are at our 13. We need a stop now. :41 3rd-3 from our 6 coming up. We need a stop here BADLY. :22 Incomplete pass and they knock through a field goal. Overtime 19 yard TD pass for EMU--the first TD of the game, and Carter needs to respond. Gain of 6 to Carlos Short on first down. Gain of 2 for Dana Riley off Left Guard. Screen to Dana Riley gains 11. We are at their 6 for 1st and Goal. Dana to Patrick Combs gains 3 yards. Riley loses a yard on a HB counter. Riley gains 3 yards--4th and Goal from the 1 coming up. Short-yard QB Stephen Mckenzie scrambles and GETS THE TOUCHDOWN! 19-19 and we head to 2nd OT. We get backed up off a penalty and then have to go for it on 4th-16. No good. They get a TD and win 25-19.

Ramfan77
Evansville (2-3) @ Central Michigan (2-3) This should be an easy win over the CMU. However, after last week's cough up against another Michigan team. We are 7 point road favorites, but Carter needs to get some points for us to win. 1st Quarter 13:17 They return our punt for a 66 yard TD! However, they blow the XP and we lead 6-0. 12:52 Carlos Short fumbles after a nice catch and they get it at our 41 9:40 They knock their punt out at our 3 yard line. 9:14 Gain of 51 from Short to Carter, and we are in their territory. 2nd Quarter 108 to -4 total yard edge for us but they are ahead. 11:13 They get an FG though they have only 28 total yards. 9-0 CMU. 10:58 Kickoff return to their 15 yard line and we are in the red zone. 8:45 We convert on a chip shot field goal to make it 9-3 CMU. We would have liked to get more from that opportunity. 3:24 Crucial 7 yard throw to reliable Dana Riley on 3rd-4 from their 17. 3:04 10 yard TD pass to Riley and we lead 10-9. 1:27 We get it at our 38 with 1:27 left and 3 timeouts. We are looking to get in field goal range. :05 We got to field goal range but Terrell missed right from 38 yards out. Carter has 253 passing yards, but only 10 points for us so far. 3rd Quarter 10:47 60 yard CMU TD pass and 2pt conversion. 17-10 CMU. 6:51 After a good shutdown, we catch a short punt and return it to their 44. 5:01 We get in field goal range and knock it through. 17-13 CMU now. :57 25 yard pass to TE Ismael Perry on 3rd-17 and we are in field goal range. :00 We connect on another field goal to narrow their lead to 1 after 3 quarters. We have double their total yards, but the lack of a running game is making us impotent in the red zone. 4th Quarter 14:41 We pick off a pass and take over at their 33. 12:39 We turn it into a 40 yard field goal try but it is wide right. 9:11 They get down the field, largely on a 49 yard pass and they make a field goal to get back up 4. 8:44 Carter picked and they take over in the red zone. 8:17 We intercept them in the red zone to stay alive. 6:14 Shanked. Only goes 24 yards--our punt, and they get it at the 30. 3:43 They then miss a 37 yard FG try short and we will get one last chance. :54 Our 4th-10 from midfield falls incomplete and it is over. And at 2-4, our season is pretty much over as well. I will be having the CPU sim out the rest of the games--I can't take losing to teams like this all the time. Will we be better next year? One thing is pretty clear, Riley with 87 potential should be a better back than he was today. (less than 2 YPC) Carter is still an intriguing player 28/61 360 yards today, but only 1 TD. Unbelievable lack of TD's considering all the yards and big plays he made.
