It gets to a point were if you have too many grades you may as well go back to percentages!
That's exactly my thinking. Imagine you have EVERY grade split evenly: A+ = 95.1-100 A = 90.1-95.0 A- = 85.1-90.0 B+ = 80.1-85.0 B = 75.1-80.0 B- = 70.1-75.0 C+ = 65.1-70.0 C = 60.1-65.0 C- = 55.1-60.0 D+ = 50.1-55.0 D = 45.1-50.0 D- = 40.1-45.0 E+ = 35.1-40.0 E = 30.1-35.0 E- = 25.1-30.0 F+ = 20.1-25.0 F = 15.1-20.0 F- = 0.1-15.0 Or something along those lines... Why bother. You could just go to a 1-20 scale and achieve the exact same results, with a lot less headache (Divide rating by 5 round everything up to the nearest whole number). It's the scale Sports Interactive uses for their games (CM & EHMt that I've personally seen), and it manages to satisfy players whop absolutely need to have a numerical value to everything, and it works ok.
