Danger Zone TV (at the McGaw Arena in the Tri State) Thurs Week 2 Dec 05 Attendance 5000 As the show opens, Phil Vibert is in the ring. He announces that, starting next week, there will be an 8 man tournament for the vacant Brass Knuckles Title. The competitors will be announced during the week. Rating B. He is interrupted by the entrance of Chris Caulfield, who demands another title shot against Bryan Holmes. He tells Vibert that he would have won the title back last week if the champ hadn’t cheated and got himself DQed. Vibert tells Caulfield that he will have to wait his turn, because he’s had his contracted re-match and didn’t get the job done. Rating B+. A video plays, telling the crowd about the career of the V Man, Vin Tanner. Rating C. Our first match of the night is a non-title tag team match, which pitts the champions, the Animalz against the rising stars, the New Wave. An exciting, even brawl ends in a draw when all four men are counted out whilst brawling through the crowd. Rating B-. The crowd start booing as a camera shows the former Brass Knuckles Champion, Eddie Peak, arriving backstage. Rating B. This is followed by a clip of his former manager, Emma Chase, lying in hospital, covered in bruises from the chair shot that she took last week. Rating A. Henry Lee beat JD Morgan in a poor match from these two experienced wrestlers. Rating C+. Our newest diva, Melanie Florence is shown getting ready for her first appearance in DAVE. Rating B. Phil Vibert gets back on the mic, and tells the crowd that the main event of the night will be between two former Unified champions, with Nemesis taking on Johnny Martin. He mentions that the winner of this match will join Eric Tyler, who won his match last week, in a multi way No 1 contenders match at Back to Black at the beginning of January. Rating B. Melanie is backstage, looking very nervous as she approaches Eddie Peak for an interview. He harshly cuts her off, and says that now is not the best time to try to talk to him, for her own benefit. Rating C+. Our main event suffers the same fate as most of the match ups in the last two weeks, as Nemesis and Johnny Martin prove to have no chemistry at all. The match is controlled by Nemesis pretty much throughout, and this continues until he puts Martin out of his misery with the Nemesis Arrow. Rating B. OVERALL RATING = B-. 136,048 viewers this week, again ECT are not happy about that.

Monday Week 3 December 2005 "So what are we going to do about these TV ratings then, Rob?" asked Phil. "Well it doesn't appear that we can do much at all at the moment. No one seems to have any momentum going, and our advance booking of the matches isn't boosting the viewing figures. The good news is that we've got a decent deal with the PPV company and I talked to them yesterday and they are happy for us to do some kind of weekly show, in addition to the main monthly PPV's. "And the new wrestlers?" "Well 2 of them fought on the pre show, and put in good performances. Most of them aren't that well known so we need to take our time and build them up a little before we let them beat Nemesis!" "No bloody indy wrestler is going over me," growls Nemesis, to laughter from Phil. And on that note, we concluded our meeting, and continued planning the next event. Matches announced for Danger Zone TV, Week 3 December 2005 Doug Peak v ...... Doug Peak v ...... (Brass Knuckles 1st round match) Don't know who the other contestant is, and he will probably win, but I can't think who it would be. Bryan Holmes (c) v Chris Caulfield (non title match) Love Holmes, one of the best to have on your team in the game in my opinion, although Caulfield gives me that Tommy Dreamer loyalty effect. Eric Tyler v Vin Tanner Don't like Eric Tyler too much, nor do I like Tanner. Just want to see if someone can use Tanner correctly and do it well for once.

Danger Zone TV (at the McGaw Arena in the Tri State) Thurs Week 3 Dec 05 Attendance 5000 A 10 man lower card, Battle Royal opens the show. Early casualties were Tatsukichi, Matt Sparrow, Art Reed and Kurt Laramee, all eliminated easily by Hells Bouncer. New signings, Hell Monkey and Darryl Devine were taken out by Acid and JD Morgan. Morgan himself was then eliminated by Bouncer, leaving the big man against Acid and Joey Minnesota, who had sensibly avoided a lot of the early action. Acid took to the skies as usual, but Bouncer caught him in mid air and unceremoniously dumped him out over the top rope, before Joey hit a dropkick to Bouncer's back, which took the big man over the ropes. Joey Minnesota wins. Rating C+. Phil Vibert enters the ring and announces that the board of directors has re-considered Chris Caulfield’s request for another title shot, but there are a few stipulations. Rating A. OVERALL RATING = B An improvement in our viewership this week, up to 157,727, but the network is still not happy.

Monday Week 4 December 2005 "So how are things shaping up for the PPV then?" asks Phil, at our weekly meeting. "Well there doesn't seem to be many matches that are fixed, but at least he's got the star of the show already booked," boasts Nemesis "Its looking pretty good actually, Nemesis. We've still got a couple of matches to clarify this coming Thursday on the TV show, but if you include the last two Brass Knuckles 1st round matches that will be on the PPV, then we've got a solid card. Add in a tag title match, the Unified Title match, and the No 1 contenders match, and there you go." "But no one knows who is in most of those matches - you've got to let the crowd know who they are paying to see well in advance, that's how you get the buyrate up." "Well I've got to disagree with you slightly there. At SWF, we only ever announced the full card a few days before the event, and despite both of our personal differences with Richard Eisen, you've got to admit that the guy does know what he's doing with regards to making money - and that's what SWF PPVs do - they make LOTS of money. So we will announce the full card next weekend after Danger Zone airs on Friday night, and see how it goes. Besides - if you are the star that you say you are, then everyone will buy the PPV already - since they know you are on it!" Maybe it's not the best idea to get in Nemesis' face this early in our working relationship, but boy, can he whinge? :p

This is good stuff! I can't wait until the next show. I particularly like the interaction between the bookers, especially Nemesis' input. It's funny to see a grown man like him crying about his 'spot' that he thinks he deserves. Can't wait for Back to Black, it's looking like it will be a packed card.

Monday Week 1 January 2006 New Years Day, a hangover, and I'm working. Not a nice start to the day to see those viewing figures, and it just got even worse when I opened my emails before the weekly meeting with Phil and Nemesis. "The show was poor, Rob, the viewing figures weren't good, and that's not all. I got an email and a phone call this morning from the network.." said Phil sadly. "Yeah I know. The show didn't go well, the guys just didn't produce good matches, but at least they didn't miss half their spots which several matches have had over the last month, which makes a change. But we needed to explain to the audience where the matches tonight in the PPV were coming from. I took a deep breath. "As for the viewing figures, I know that we've been dropped by the network, I got an email too, telling me that fact." "What are they emailing you for? They never sent anything to me when I was doing your job!" asked Nemesis. "I wish it had been the network that emailed me and told me. Unfortunately, it was Richard Eisen, and the email was somewhat patronising, so I think we can expect some kind of sarcastic comment on Supreme TV tomorrow night." "So I assume we are going with the weekly PPV's idea? Are we sticking with a Thursday?" "Yeah, that was the plan. At least on a Thursday, we seem to have everyone now available to work for us." "OK well that will do for today. You know I'm disappointed with the situation, but just make damn sure that tonight blows the roof off the arena, for all our sakes!" Well that went well ! (I don't think) That last line sounded awfully like a threat to me, and getting fired twice in the space of a few weeks isn't my idea of fun. Better get to work then.
