So there we were, the first PPV of my reign done, and OK it wasn't the greatest, but at least it keeps us moving in the right direction overness wise. A new champion crowned, a new No 1 contender, even if Nemesis kept complaining that it should have been him and not Eric Tyler, reminding me constantly that he has a title run in his contract before next December.... so that will be approximately Week 4 of November if he doesn't shut up and let me get on with things my way! ;) Danger Zone TV is no more for now, it is replaced by weekly PPV's called (unimaginatively) Weekly IMPACT :p, while we wait for February to roll round and Phil can officially negotiate us a new TV deal, probably with the POP network, who have expressed an interest in having us on board. From my point of view, having the weekly PPV's gives me a little more room for manouver (sp?), as instead of having to cram everything into an hour, I decided to make IMPACT 90 minutes long. Happy New Year to all you DAVE fans out there :D

Monday Week 2 January 2006 Well a very pleasant meeting this morning with Phil and Nemesis. Not surprising really when the company accountant popped his head round the door early on and informed Phil that with the much bigger live audience, thanks to the show being officially a PPV, and also the PPV buys had meant that we were looking at approximately $200k extra income per week. I always find that that kind of news tends to make the boss a little happier, don't you? DAVE The Weekly Impact on PPV (at Evanovich Riverside in Tri State) Thurs Week 2 Jan 2006 Attendance 8500 The show open with a short hardcore tag match, in which the New Jersey Devils improve their ranking by defeating the McWade Brothers. Rating C+. Cat Jemson leads her clients, the Animalz to the ring, where she issues a challenge for a re-match to the tag champions, the New Wave. "And its not just any old match we want - we want to face you in a cage match at Counter Culture. Rating B-. On hearing this challenge, Adrenaline Rush storm out to Phil Vibert and demand that they get the next title shot, not the Animalz. He refuses, telling them that they have to beat the New Jersey Devils first to have any chance of getting their hands on the New Wave. Rating C+. Kurt Laramee comes out for his Brass Knuckles semi final, and tells everyone that he is not gonna lose to some jumped up Mexican priest like Pablo Rodriguez. “This title is for real hardcore Americans,” he boasts. Rating B. Pablo Rodriguez proves to have far too much in ring ability, and easily defeats Kurt Laramee to advance to the final, despite various attempts by Kurt to cheat. Rating B-. Phil Vibert announces that he's made another match for the Counter Culture PPV, where we will see the Unified Champion, Johnny Martin, take on the official No 1 Contender, Eric Tyler for the title. Rating B+. As Phil walks out back for a moment, he comes across Nemesis and Chris Caulfield arguing about Johnny Martin's interference supposedly costing Nemesis the No 1 Contenders match at Back in Black. Chris also accuses Nemesis of attacking him last week, which Nemesis denies. Phil tells them both that he has an idea how to sort this whole situation out. Rating B+. Next we see a rematch from the first round of the Brass Knuckles tournament, between Joey Minnesota and Art Reed. Not as good a match as last time, but still the same result, as Joey hits the Empire Spiral for the win, to prove his recent successes were no fluke. Rating B-. Shawn Gonzalez comes to the ring and says that he has no intention of facing Eddie Peak tonight. Rating B-. But Eddie suddenly appears through the crowd and attacks Shawn….. Rating B. …..before yelling to a referee to get down to the ring, where he makes short work of Shawn, pinning him easily. Rating C+. In a match made last week by Phil Vibert, Adrenaline Rush push their title claims with a victory over the New Jersey Devils. Rating C+. Phil Vibert gets back in the ring and announces that the main event tonight will be a repeat of last week’s match between Nemesis and Eric Tyler against Johnny Martin and Chris Caulfield. However to avoid any more count outs or DQs, the match tonight will be a street fight! During this match, we saw Joey Minnesota run in and attempt to get some revenge on Acid, who he obviously felt was the main reason for his loss earlier tonight against Hells Bouncer, but Acid shrugged him off and still picked up the win by pin, with his feet on the ropes. Rating C+. As Acid celebrates, he is challenged by Joey Minnesota to face him ono on one at Counter Culture. "What on earth are two guys that big doing on the top rope?" asks Phil. Rating B. Scout and Teddy Powell face off in singles action. After both their partners get involved in the match, Scout finishes it with a shot from the tag title belt to Powell’s head. Rating C, thanks to these two having zero chemistry. Rating C+. Eddie Peak comes to the ring and calls out Big Cat Brandon. As the Cat gets to the ring, Eddie slides out the other side and retreats through the crowd to the back. Rating B. Doug Peak and Wolverine come out to the ring for their singles match. The match is a hardcore affair, with Wolverine eventually having too much stamina for the exhausted Doug Peak and wins it with the Maul, with the main surprise of the match being the lack of interference from anyone! Rating C+. However, this changes after the bell, as Eddie and the New Wave rush the ring and join Doug in attacking the defenceless Wolverine. After a short while, Adrenaline Rush run out to make the save, since Big Cat is obviously unable to after his earlier beating. Matches announced for Counter Culture PPV on Monday Week 1 February 2006 Unified Title Match: Johnny Martin (c) v Eric Tyler - Eric has picked up a victory over Johnny recently, albeit in a tag match. Which of these two veterans will be standing tall at the end of the night? Hardcore Match: Nemesis v Chris Caulfield - Nemesis blames Johnny Martin's interference on behalf of Chris at the last PPV for costing him the title shot, he now wants to get some measure of revenge against Caulfield. Chris believes Nemesis attacked him backstage a couple of weeks ago, so he is looking for revenge for that too. Brass Knuckles Match: Hells Bouncer v Pablo Rodriguez - a contrast of styles, with the high flying Pablo facing the monster in this final match of the tournament to crown a new champion, after Eddie Peak was stripped of the title back in December. Bryan Holmes v Shawn Gonzalez - the former Unified champion was not content to be left off the card. Gonzalez answered his open challenge. Will Holmes' confidence be justified? Tag Title Match in a steel cage: New Wave (c) v The Animalz - the Animalz have delayed taking their re-match after New Wave beat them at the last PPV. This feud seems to have developed, and both Adrenaline Rush and the Peak Brothers have got involved recently. Joey Minnesota v Acid - Acid cost Joey his semi final match in the Brass Knuckles tournament, and Joey returned the favour by costing Acid a match that same night. Who will win when they face off one on one? Predictions and comments welcome

Unified Title Match: Johnny Martin (c) v Eric Tyler - Martin has the makings of a champ that could last a while. Hardcore Match: Nemesis v Chris Caulfield - I always end up feuding these two in my games, with Caulfield always winning. It's that Dreamerness of him. Brass Knuckles Match: Hells Bouncer v Pablo Rodriguez - The Bouncer is on a roll, and Pablo isn't going to stop him. Bryan Holmes v Shawn Gonzalez - I never thought Holmes fit in with DAVE compared to Gonzalez. Tag Title Match in a steel cage: New Wave (c) v The Animalz - The Animalz don't stand a chance. Joey Minnesota v Acid - This is the pick I'm least likely right on, but I feel Acid can pull this win. Rob, this is a great Diary and I'm glad to be a loyal reader.
