DAVE Counter Culture PPV (at Plum Park in Tri State) Mon Week 1 Feb 2006 Attendance 12137 The show opens with a video showing all the goings on in both the Nemesis against Chris Caulfield feud and also the Unified Title feud between Johnny Martin and Eric Tyler. Rating A. Phil Vibert and Mitch Naess next talk about the upcoming Tag Team Title re-match between the New Wave and the Animalz, which will take place in a steel cage. Rating C+. Tag Title Match (Steel Cage): An exciting match, which looked like the former champions would regain their titles early on, until Wolverine accidentally knocked out the referee, just as his partner, Big Cat Brandon made his escape from the cage. The New Wave mounted a comeback, smashing Wolverine head first into the cage, busting him open badly, and then climbing over the cage to attack Big Cat and throw him back into the ring through the cage door. They then double teamed him for several minutes, during which time the referee came round, and was able to see Guide make his own escape to retain the titles. Rating B-. As New Wave celebrate on the ring apron, Adrenaline Rush run down to the ring and attack them, throwing both of the exhausted champions repeatedly against the cage, before standing over them, holding the tag belts aloft. Rating C+. Backstage, Emma Chase approaches the McWade Brothers, who have been watching the Tag Title match. “Do you want to be in big matches like that?” she asks them. “Of course.” “So you need me as your manager then – and I will get you into events like this.” Rating C+. Emma spots Hells Bouncer walking past and approaches him as well, asking him if he would like to have a pretty girl like her walking down to the ring with him each night. Rating B+. Out in the ring, we have Joey Minnesota against Acid, a match which came about when Acid cost Joey his chance in the Brass Knuckles tournament. Joey got a measure of revenge, when Acid was DQ’ed, thanks to Art Reed getting involved and attacking Joey from behind. Unfortunately for Art and Acid, the referee spotted him and declared Joey the winner. Rating B. Acid and Art Reed argue all the way to the back about Art’s botched interference. Rating C+. Hells Bouncer knocks on Emma’s dressing room door, and when she answers, he tells her that he accepts her offer to be his manager, Rating A. Emma invites Bouncer into the dressing room to discuss tactics for his Brass Knuckles match, closing the door after them to stop the cameras seeing. Rating A. Brass Knuckles Title Match (hardcore): Hells Bouncer becomes the new champion, when he beats Pablo Rodriguez, following interference by Kurt Laramee. “Why did he do that?” asks Mitch. “Pablo beat Kurt earlier in the tournament, I guess he wanted some revenge,” answers Phil Vibert. Rating B-. Once the new champion gets backstage, he and Emma are greeted by the McWades, who spray Hells Bouncer with champagne to celebrate his title win. “Looks like the McWades are part of Emma’s little army”, says Mitch. “Not so little now,” replies Phil, “she’s also got Doug Peak and Bryan Holmes on her books, don’t forget.” Rating B+. Nemesis is backstage, and he tells Chris Caulfield that tonight will be the last time that the Hardcore Icon sticks his nose in his business. “After tonight’s hardcore match, you won’t be in any fit state to wrestle for a while.” Rating A. Next we have the match resulting from Bryan Holmes’ open challenge last week, which was taken up by Shawn Gonzalez. In an exciting match, which swung both ways, Gonzalez eventually picked up the victory when Doug Peak was spotted by the referee, handing Holmes a pair of brass knuckles, which he used to knock Gonzalez out, and the match was ended by DQ. Rating B+. Eric Tyler is backstage in front of the camera. “Shine that belt up nicely Johnny, I want it to look good round my waist for the photos after the match!” Rating A. Phil Vibert talks up the following match, the hardcore matchup between Nemesis and Chris Caulfield. Rating A. Yet again, we have two wrestlers who don’t click. Despite this, the two tried hard to put on a good show, using a variety of weapons to attack each other, as Nemesis dominated most of the match with Caulfield, before finishing him off with a Nemesis Arrow through a table. Rating B. A video is shown of the feud between Johnny Martin and Eric Tyler over the Unified Title, during which time the ring is cleared of all the weapons from the previous match. Rating A. Unified Title Match: Johnny and Eric put it all on the line for the title. Back and forth it went, even spilling into the crowd at one point, with the referee having been knocked out. Just as Johnny was beginning to get the upper hand, Nemesis came flying out from the back and hit the Nemesis Arrow on Johnny on the outside, as Martin was preparing to climb the ropes to frog splash the semi conscious Eric Tyler in the ring. As the referee came round, Nemesis retreated halfway up the ramp, and grinned to himself as the referee made the slow 10 count to count the champion out. Eric Tyler wins the match, but Johnny Martin retains the title. Rating A. As Tyler came round, the referee raised his hand in triumph, but once Tyler realized that he had not won the title thanks to Nemesis, he rolled out of the ring and went eyeball to eyeball with the laughing Nemesis. Tuesday Week 1 February 2006 So we've decided to move our weekly meetings back a day from now on, what with PPV's being on a Monday. "Well that was a very nice PPV, Rob. Congratulations!" said Phil. "Thanks Phil, its just a shame that Chris and Nemesis didn't click, cos we had several emails from fans saying that they were really looking forward to the match. They even said that they reckoned that that character on the TV wrestling cartoon, Tommy Dreamer, is based on Chris!" "Well I guess that makes me Raven then," laughed Nemesis. "So the next order of business is to sort out a TV show for next month?" "Yeah, we've got the POP network meeting us on Friday to sign, and i've been in contact with several other networks to see if we can get a better deal in the meantime." Matches announced for Weekly IMPACT Thursday Week 1 February The McWades are in action for the first time under Emma's management, can she turn them into a force in the tag division? Hells Bouncer (c) v Tank Bradley (Brass Knuckles Title Match) - Bouncer makes his first defence of the title he won at Counter Culture. Bryan Holmes v Shawn Gonzalez - a rematch from Monday. Can they manage a clean match this time, without any interference? Eddie Peak v Chris Caulfield (hardcore match) - who is the master of hardcore?

DAVE The Weekly Impact on PPV (at Evanovich Riverside in Tri State) Thurs Week 1 Feb 2006 Attendance 8500 Backstage we see Emma Chase handing over a wad of cash to Kurt Laramee. “You did well last week, if you ever need any help from us….” she breaks off as she notices the camera, and heads out to the ring. Rating B-. Emma comes out with her newest clients, the McWade Brothers. She tells the crowd that these two monsters are going to take over the tag division, and that is starting right now with a demonstration of how good they are. Rating B. The McWades go 1-0 under Emma's guidance by defeating Hell Monkey and Darryl Devine with a handful of tights, just when the youngsters seemed like they might pull off a shock victory. Rating C. Phil Vibert announces that due to Doug Peak’s interference on Monday, tonight there will be a rematch of Bryan Holmes against Shawn Gonzalez. Rating B. Next is Hell’s Bouncer’s first defence of his Brass Knuckles Title, against Tank Bradley. In a quick but violent hardcore match, Bouncer makes a comfortable defence, finishing things with the Damnation Drop. Rating B-. Shawn Gonzalez is walking backstage when Bryan Holmes jumps out and lays into him, throwing him into various walls and technical apparatus. Shawn is eventually left lying in a pool of his own blood, down and out. Rating B. Adrenaline Rush are sat with Mitch Naess backstage. They talk about New Wave, reminding the champions that they were the ones left standing tall at the end of Counter Culture, and that’s exactly what will happen when the champions get in the ring with Adrenaline Rush. Rating C+. Phil Vibert announces a match for next weeks show, it will be Joey Minnesota v Acid again, but this time there will be a third wrestler in the match, Art Reed, seeing as he wanted to get involved at Counter Culture, thus making it a triple threat match. Rating B-. As Vibert leaves and goes backstage, he comes across Pablo Rodriguez yelling at Kurt Laramee, telling Laramee that he cost him the Brass Knuckles Title against Hells Bouncer. Vibert tells the pair that if they have a problem with each other then they will have to settle it in the ring right now. Rating B. Pablo and Kurt put on a very good match, with both men having periods of dominance. Whenever Kurt got a shot in, he seemed to glance towards the ramp, as if expecting some help. Eventually Pablo got the upper hand, and it ended with a pinfall victory for the Mexican. Rating B. Henry Lee comes out to the announce table and tells Phil Vibert that Shawn Gonzalez is going to be unable to fight Bryan Holmes after the earlier attack, but that he, Henry Lee, wants to take his place and get some revenge on Holmes for his friend. Phil agrees to allow this. Rating B+. A video of the controversial end to the Unified Title match is shown, where Nemesis seems to deliberately cost Eric Tyler the title. Rating A. Eddie Peak comes out and says that, in case anyone has forgotten, he is the king of hardcore, and that Chris Caulfield is not in his league – as Nemesis proved on Monday, and that he, Eddie will give Chris the same treatment tonight – if Caulfield is man enough to face him. There is no reply. Rating B-. So, Eddie introduces the next segment, a bikini contest between our 4 divas, Emma, Melanie, Phoebe and Cat. Surprisingly he announces Phoebe as the winner, which does not please either the crowd or the other three girls, who all expected Emma to win. Rating A. Bryan Holmes defeats late substitute, Henry Lee, after once again, Doug Peak gets involved, distracting the referee which allows Holmes to nail Lee with a chair. Rating B-. Cat Jemson, still wearing her bikini, is backstage with Eric Tyler, who is in a very bad mood. He tells the world that both Johnny Martin and Nemesis are going to feel his wrath, and that as far as he is concerned, if Nemesis wants to get involved that badly, then he will beat both of them in the same match. Rating B+. Our main event is a hardcore match between Eddie Peak and Chris Caulfield. Chris seems to still be feeling the effects of his defeat by Nemesis on Monday, but still battles Eddie with his usual weapons. However it is all in vain as Eddie shows the older man that he really is a sick, sadistic person, hitting the Peak of Perfection onto a chair and then using the ropes for leverage in making the pin. Rating B+. OVERALL RATING = B. 2399 PPV buys.

Do you want the good news or the bad news?" "Good first." "Well we've signed a 3 season deal with Los Deporte Hoy, for a Sunday night, which covers all of Mexico and also South West USA." "Well that IS good, I wasn't expecting them to say yes, I only contacted them on the off chance..." "Which brings me to the bad news. I received an email from the POP network this morning, and apparently they had heard about this new show of ours on LDH, and they are a little concerned that we are trying to run before we can walk, and so they have decided to postpone signing our TV deal until they see how the show on LDH goes. So we are stuck for another three months without TV coverage in 90% of the USA." Oops, my greed in trying to get two TV shows has backfired on us. Looks like another three months (at least) of weekly PPVs. Good job the quality of the shows seems to be going up, otherwise Phil would really be annoyed with me. :(

DAVE The Weekly Impact on PPV (at Plum Park in Tri State) Thurs Week 2 Feb 2006 Attendance 12750 Teddy Powell is walking towards his and Sammy Bach’s dressing room, when he is jumped by the New Wave and badly beaten, and then dragged off towards their dressing room. Rating C+. We cut to Emma Chase’s dressing room, where she is getting ready. Rating A*. Joey Minnesota, Acid and Art Reed face each other in a triple threat match, which ends in a time limit draw, despite Joey controlling most of the match, apart from when Acid and Art eventually decided to work together for a short time. Rating B. Sammy Bach is seen backstage, looking puzzled and clearly searching for someone, presumably his tag partner, Teddy Powell. Rating C+. Emma Chase comes to the ring and tells the crowd that they saw last week how good a team the McWades are – and that there is no-one on the roster who can beat them, so she is issuing an open challenge for anyone stupid enough to step in the ring with the two monsters. Rating C+. Sammy Bach comes to the ring alone for his singles match, where his opponent, Guide is waiting along with his partner, Scout, both looking smug. Rating A. And we finally get some good chemistry between two wrestlers!!! :D As Johnny raises the title belt above his head to the cheers from the crowd, Nemesis races out, slides under the ropes and as Martin turns, he lays him out with a Nemesis Arrow, and then continues the beating, until pulled away by several officials.
Go Joey Minnesota! Never seen him, or Lover used in a DAVE promotion before, looks awesome.
Glad you're enjoying it. Lover starts with a high B grade in hardcore (along with high everything else!) and Joey starts with a mid C+, so they can wrestle that kind of match if necessary, although it kind of wastes their other talents. Imho, a good wrestler can still do really well in a hardcore promotion, similar to how someone like CM Punk is gonna be a star in ECW (although I do realise that the current ECW isn't really hardcore as such)

Imho, a good wrestler can still do really well in a hardcore promotion, similar to how someone like CM Punk is gonna be a star in ECW (although I do realise that the current ECW isn't really hardcore as such)

DAVE The Weekly Impact on PPV (at Plum Park in Tri State) Thurs Week 4 Feb 2006 Attendance 9750 Phoebe announces our opening match: The Animalz v The Samoans (Rhino Umaga and Samoan Machine). Rating C. Not a lot to say, a regulation tag match which ends as expected with the experienced Animalz defeating the debuting Samoans. Rating C+. Cat and the Animalz laugh at the McWades and Emma, and tell them that they need to actually win a serious match before they deserve to get in the ring with a team like them. Rating C+. Phoebe announces another tag match. It is Adrenaline Rush v New Jersey Devils. Rating C+. Again, no surprises in this one either, as Adrenaline Rush easily defeat the Devils by submission. Rating C+. After the match, there is a mass invasion of the ring, and it boils down to an 8 man brawl with New Wave and the McWades attacking Adrenaline Rush and the New Jersey Devils. Rating C+. Melanie Florence shoots some t shirts to try and get the crowd somewhat interested in being here. Rating B. Phil Vibert is in the ring, and announces that he is fed up with Bryan Holmes keep using his stable's numerical advantage against his opponents, and so is turning the tables on him, and is putting him in a handicap match at March into Battle, against Henry Lee and Shawn Gonzalez. He also says that Acid and Art will face off right now. Rating C+. Art Reed picks up the win, while blatantly cheating, leaving Acid furious at the loss. Rating C+. Phil Vibert now announces that he has sanctioned a best of seven series between Eddie Peak and Chris Caulfield, starting at the PPV, since the crowd loved their previous matches so much. Matches announced for March into Battle PPV on Monday Week 1 March 2006 Pre Show Match: The McWades v The Samoans - Emma has chosen the new boys to be the Canadians next victims, while the Samoans search for their first victory in DAVE. Brass Knuckles Title Match: Hells Bouncer (c) v Hell Monkey - Emma's man will again be looking to make his huge size advantage pay. Tag Title Ladder Match: New Wave (c) v Adrenaline Rush - Scout and Guide have had the upper hand in singles competition, but will the ladder match suit the high flying style of Sammy Bach and Teddy Powell? Triple Threat Match: Joey Minnesota v Acid v Art Reed - these three men have had problems with each other recently, who will come out on top? Handicap Match: Bryan Holmes v Shawn Gonzalez and Henry Lee - Holmes has enlisted the help of both Doug Peak and the McWades over the past few weeks to outnumber Henry and Shawn. Tonight the shoe is on the other foot, but for how long? Best of Seven Hardcore Series (Match 1): Eddie Peak v Chris Caulfield - the "Hardcore Assassin" meets the "Hardcore American". Eddie has won both their previous encounters, but with this series starting tonight, will Chris manage to find a victory from somewhere? Unified Title Triple Threat Hardcore Match: Johnny Martin (c) v Eric Tyler v Nemesis - last month's PPV main event saw Eric Tyler face Johnny Martin, but thanks to Nemesis' interference, Tyler only won the match by count out and therefore did not win the title. Now all three men are in the match, and all of them have been involved in each other's warm up matches. Who will walk away with the biggest prize in DAVE at the end of the night? Predictions, comments and criticism welcome.
