Undertaker666
Looks good bud, i've had the Nothar armor stuff for a while now but have never got round to actually trying anything with it. That one wouldn't necessarily have to be off-topic though as he could quite easily be a character in TEW. :)
Clarity
Thats pretty sweet. I think i better book a day soon to get some poser work done. Im lagging behind

Undertaker666
Trell, did you end up buying Bryce 6? If so, put some of your characters in Bryce and play around with the lighting and textures as it can make a good render into a great render. This is my soldier guy in Studio, just look at the difference putting him into Bryce made. Trell
yea, I bought it, can I import him if I made him in poser?
Undertaker666
Good question..........................? lol Just had a quick look at the Export options in Poser and you can export your model as a 3D Studio Max file (.3ds) and Wavefront Objects (.obj), both of which can be imported into Bryce so you shouldn't have any problems. Undertaker666
Have you tried changing any of the material properties in Bryce yet? It's great for that sort of thing so you could change the sword/helmet into gold, steel, silver, or anything else that you might want to. :)
Trell
I have no idea how to do any of that stuff in Bryce :( , I hope to figure alot of stuff in it soon.
Undertaker666
If you're not sure, just ask! I'm not as well versed in Bryce as I am in Studio but I do know my way around a little. 1. Click on the object whose material you want to change. 2. Click on the "M" button next to the object. 3. In the top left you'll see a window with a sphere in it, click on the uppermost arrow connected to that window. 4. Scroll through the available materials, choose the one you want and click on the Tick button. 5. *optional* Change the colour, transparency, metallicity, reflection strengths etc. by moving the sliders. 6. Click on the Tick button and your material will be applied. If your objects are grouped together (one click selects them all) you can do one of the following: 1. Click on Objects from the top menu and then click on Ungroup and then go to the previous steps. 2. Hold down the CTRL key and right click on a grouped object you want selected, a pop-up menu will appear, click on the object you want and go to the previous steps. This way has the advantage of keeping all your objects grouped so if you moved your guy with the sword then his sword would remain 'attached' without you having to select it aswell. Hope this helps! :)

wooodaddy
Oh, but I'm so intimidated by you guy's master works, that I couldn't get anywhere close to anything as good as what you do... did I mention that my patience would probably run thin anyway.... Clarity
If thats the way you feel i would check out Trells work in the ON topic render thread. His work rapidly improved from newbie to better than mine

Undertaker666
Everyone's got to start somewhere. It's just like anything else, the more you practice, the better you'll get. I doubt Michelangelo (not the turtle :p) could have painted The Last Judgement as his first ever painting. :)
Trell
believe me, before I got Poser 6 and really messed around with it, my stuff looked very bad, like taker and clarity said it just takes practice
wooodaddy
cool, I shall try it very soon, thanks again...:)
Clarity
I reckon Michelangelo (THE turtle) could have painted it straight away

Trell
Wow, I really like how you did that pic, I have to sit down and figure out how to fully use Daz, I am still having trouble with the changing of the Sword Material.
Undertaker666
Thanks, but the way that picture looks is due to the wonders of Bryce moreso than Studio. The figure's exactly the same as before, just posed differently (in Studio) and with the lighting changed (Bryce). What're you specifically having trouble with changing the material? If you follow the steps that I listed earlier you can't really go wrong. Unless one or more of the steps is unclear? (I'm currently working on what is fast becoming my 'ultra' picture, stay tuned ;))
Undertaker666
It's still work in progress but here's what i've got so far.
