Doc Young
I'm not sure what i'm doing wrong, but my trainer (in the EXPERT OPINION Part) keeps saying my technique rating will keep dropping every six weeks. I've tried to re-arrange my workout and time regimen, but it always says that. Can anyone help? Does anyone know what affects Technique and what i may have to do different to gain instead of lose? Thanks. -Doc
Alecia
I ran into similar issues. I can manage to get my training regieme to a point where none of my stats reduce but only one of them will go up at that time. I have no idea how to raise technique. I can stop it going down by putting a large percentage into fitness training, however, it won't go up even for a light weight technician! Ever-so-slightly worrying. Especially when I train power 100% with a 100% fitness regieme and technique won't go down. Also I'm not certain on how the percentages work - seems that 100% into anything with someone who isn't sleeping and technique stays the same. The only thing that seems to affect technique is the fitness training and that only stops it going down. Confusing.
smartman
Basically, just find a breakdown where it won't go down because technique and speed improve just by wrestling. Power, stamina, charisma, and mic skills are the only ones you need to improve during training because everything else will go up just by wrestling. I've got my speed work set at 20 and tech at 15 with 42% of the time spent with the mentor as a regular wrestler and speed and flexibility at 15 as well, and both stay neutral. I'm almost a year in and both are in the 40's. Basically, just tinker with the sliders until you get the results you want, but one thing to keep in mind is that those 3 ratings don't go up unless you set that bar at 30%. Alecia
Not entirely correct. (Not sure about stats raising from wrestling so much; I haven't seen it!) Played around with my regieme/mentor sliders etc ... It took me a while, because I'm slow and rather stupid, but I got my technique up. Currently I'm playing with raising power, stamina, speed, saftey, mic and charisma all at once. :) Sliders are irritating at first but addicting after a while. I know some of the vets of the forum are probably sick of posts by newbies about training regiemes etc etc ... but I felt the instructions are a little vague for someone who isn't a wrestling fanatic. Maybe a sticky FAQ strategy area for people that don't know what road work and mentors are?
Briskout
It also depends what type of wrestling you chose at the beginning of the game, I believe. If you're a Sports Entertainer, it will be simple for your Charisma and Mic Skills to go up but harder for other talents, so you would have to put more time into it. Derek B
Speed and technique definitely improve from matches, but will be more likely to improve when facing people who have better/technique than you do. The general idea being that you learn from your opponents. In my game, I couldn't find a training regime that boosted my technical abilities above 60 but from matches, it has so far risen to the mid 70s and I'm not losing any technique from my regime. So if you're having difficulties improving, just hope you get to face better people to keep building yourself up. Derek B
XellenceOfXecution
(Not sure about stats raising from wrestling so much; I haven't seen it!)
I think what is needed is patience here. You won't see much of a stat increase just from wrestling if you only wrestle a few months. derek b is exactly right about the "facing better opponents" comment. Once you start to rise up the ranks in a given promotion, you will start to see a marked improvement in stats. Also, I'm not entirely sure, but it seems to me that the style and length of match you have has an effect on the stats. For example, if you wrestle a particularly long match, you will see an increase in stamina or if you wrestle some kind of hardcore style, you will see an increase in toughness. I'm playing a career as Vader with the awesome DOTT mod and his stats have greatly improved in a few months from facing superior opponents (and kicking their butts! ;) ). captainlou
You can also get your technique rating to increase by wrestling with tag-team partners who are more talented as well as wrestling against more talented partners.
Alecia
That sounds a fairly awesome system. Patience is something I have plenty of; I just get confused easily too. :) I suppose Adam doesn't want to tell everyone how it works in a delibrate way, it's kind of fun having things sneak up like that. (Confusing too) Now if I can just work out what enhancement talent and road work means I'm set. :D (I'm off to google I think)
Briskout
Enhancement Talent - If this was set matches, then this would mean you would lose to more over people often. Seeing as this is a shoot based game, it's just saying you're on the bottom of the ladder. Road Work - This has something to do with psychology/stamina. I'm not completely positive though.
