Why he never dreamt about main eventing, nobody will ever know. He seemed content where he was. That was until a close friend of his died. At the funeral, his friends father spoke elegant words about how his son had been an expert in his field and had been headhunted for a new job just weeks before his tragic death. The hall were filled way over capacity and at the back stood Adam. It was at that point that a revelation struck him. He wasn't happy where he was and decided to do something about it. He quit his job, moved out of home and headed to London. He spent the next month decided exactly how he wanted to be known and to train up in certain areas. A large guy, Adam decided to learn the art of strong style wrestling and just how to be a heel. Clarity
Wednesday 17th June 2006 Today would be the first time that i step in the ring.... About a week ago i phoned all the smaller promotions and begged for some work. And much to my surprise five companies would give me a try. It was only a verbal contract so they could drop me at any moment but it was still work. Five companies however would be a little bit too much for me. If they each put on one show a month it means that chances are one show is gonna overlap. So i picked three: Mid Atlantic Wrestling, New York City Wrestling and Coastal Zone Combat Wrestling. The first two would be kinda near each other and CZCW said they would fly me out if i could always put on good matches. Today rolled around and i reported to MAW. Im apparently up against a guy called Eddie Howard for a share of $750.. Lovely. It was time for my match so i stepped out from behind the curtain to face the crowd.. All 69 of them..... I dont remember all that much about the match. I just remember it was long, almost half hour in length apparently. Eddie Howard charged at me the moment i got in the ring and hit his finisher at some point.. Somehow i managed to kick out of it.... I got up, took a breath and decided it was my time.. We danced around the ring for a while and i managed to hit him with an implant ddt.. But he wouldn't stay down.. Followed up by a fishermans suplex.. Still nothing, another implant ddt and he still kicked out in time... So i did the only thing i could. I hit another implant ddt and tried a pin again... Either he felt sorry for me or he just didn't have enough left because i got the 3 count and won my debut match. That was some feeling i can tell you. I headed backstage and some of the locker room greeted me.. They liked what they saw and thought i could be big here in MAW. Karen Killer came up to me, thanked me for coming and gave me my share of the purse: $600 Coming up: Adam Phoenix heads west

Clarity
Monday Week 1 July 2006 I was still buzzing from my debut win almost 2 weeks ago when i got a call from CZCW. They wanted me for there next show.. It would be an opening match and the purse was tiny but it was still experience and exposure for me. So i agreed and headed west to compete there. Turns out i would be facing Masked Couger tonight. He came out first and the crowd all seemed to be cheering and i promptly followed him. There were no cheers or boo's, just mild disinterest in me. The bell rang and Couger came at me, and right from the start i knew this was a mismatch. Im a strong style wrestler, this guy was bouncing all over the place, coming off ropes and ducking under me.. I must have looked like a hulking giant trying to swat a fly.... Everytime i managed to get a few moves going, he ducked out the way, got around me and started on me again.. He knocked me down and jumped onto the top turnbuckle. I managed to pull myself up just as he went for his... what did he call it... High Rise Couger Pounce. And he missed.. Looked very painful. I started working on the fallen Couger with some holds and i could sense he was slowing down. All i had to do was keep this up and i could win.. But.. Alas i got kocky... I wanted the crowd to cheer, boo, heck do anything to acknowlege i was there. I went to hit him with the Animalistic Spear, but as i charged towards him, he jumped to his feet and hit me with a thrust kick.. I went down... for i dont know how long... and the next thing i know he has gone for the High Rise Couger Pounce. He connects and i didn't have the energy to kick out the pin. After the match the ref helps me up and carries me out the ring and i sit there in the locker room after suffering my first defeat. Coming up: Rematch

Karen Killer comes up to me and announces that tonight im going to be in the opening spot in a rematch against Eddie Howard. The city apparently so nice they named it twice. I caught the red eye from california after my match yesterday to get to my first NYCW match up. I got there and met up with Johnny Martin. Clarity
3 of 5 Monday 1st August 2006 I spent the next few weeks earning some cash waiting tables and working out down the gym. I wouldn't know until the start of August when i would next wrestle and that uncertainty had to be countered by a second job. CZCW called me very early on the first day of August. Tickets were gonna be at the airport if i could make it to the show. A quick phone call to my job feigning illness and one flight later, i was at the venue. CZCW had booked me against Matt Sparrow, a rookie highflyer with apparent suicidal tendancies. I informed them that i wasn't a high flyer myself but they seemed adamant that i face him in the opening spot of the show. I came across a decision this week which may have consequences on my career. MAW told me that the show was going to be on thursday this week promptly followed by NYCW telling me the exact same thing. Two shows far to far apart to appear at both. Whatever show i didn't choose would surely look down at me and possibly not book me again. However fate gave me a helping hand. MAW called back as usual to let me know who and when i would be on the show. Karen told me that there was no space on the show for me this week and that she would try get me on the next one. That just left NYCW. I wouldn't have to pick between them. NYCW called up the next day. They informed me that they didn't have a space on the show for me either... Huh.. I went from double booked, to not working at all... Coming up: Cycling (actually true this time)
