Alec_Burkhardt Posted December 31, 2006 Share Posted December 31, 2006 Because a number of people had sent Apupunchau PM's with lists and said they would be unavailable over the holiday weekend, he's put the draft on hold for the moment. I'm not certain when exactly he intends for the drafting to restart. So far, we've managed to complete the first six rounds, although we need to find a replacement for Gadzaman (who hasn't selected since the first round) and both Screwus and Goldenskillz still have their sixth round pick to make. With only three lists I'm pretty sure we can restart now. One question about the Gadzaman issue - if we don't find someone to take over the promotion, how are you going to handle who gets to pick Matravers? I don't have any ideas as to what would be the fairest methods, but I'm fairly certain he's somebody just about everyone would like to have on their roster. Alec_Burkhardt Posted January 1, 2007 Share Posted January 1, 2007 Drafting two promotions (of different sizes) is what we ended up with back in the '04 Cverse draft - largely due to a lack of interest (only 10 or so people iirc) and people dropping out (including the original starter of the draft, which is when I volunteered to take over). I've actually been thinking about perhaps trying to do that again, perhaps towards the end of January. But these drafts do take a considerable amount of time, and losing people along the way is a definite problem. And the holidays certainly added to the issue this time. As I posted way back at the beginning, it's certainly not unusual for each round to take over a day, meaning a draft of 25 rounds is going to take about a month. Not a lot that can be done about that other than a major format change for the draft. And that would likely make it very difficult to even get enough people to hold a draft. Well, Goldenskillz' turn is almost up, so I guess we'll just muster on and wait to see what Apupunchau wants to do to deal with losing people. I'm gonna leave his and Gazdman's spots as blanks because numbers not divisble by 5 make for weird numbering. Anyone either of their rosters is a free agent not hirable on a written deal but when we get to PPA they will be available, which means [B]Adam Matravers, Sean McFly, Nemesis, Bryan Vessey, Hell Monkey and Dread[/B]. It'll be a boon to all the promotions as as these are all great workers however each wrestler can only be signed to 3 differnt promotions so choose carefully.
