MAW Fundamentals

Recommended Posts

I left my office in CZCW, trying to catch if I missed packing anything up. I had been there such a short time, I highly doubt it, I barely unpacked. As much as I love CZCW and wrestling, it was not working out. The fans did not like my style of booking. As Cliff wanted to show his thanks, he talked to his old friend Rip Chord. As soon as he got off the phone, a big grin came across his face. "Be glad you don't have a family to move cross-country son." I brought a few talents from CZCW with me as they felt I could utilize them best. I was told as soon as I got over there, the Rip Chord Invitational was being run, so I hopped onto the plane and started setting up the card.

Grr... coming to this small business may get frustrating, but it'll raise my work ethic. I had to paste some pictures of the workers onto a ripped sheet of paper and make copies. No time to even put together a good ad. I got into Rip's office, and showed him the card and advertisement. He said they'd do for now, but I better pick my work up if we want to make it bigtime. Hopefully it will rival the other MAW (and I apologize, i took the first flyer idea from you, albeit mine is not nearly as good. Shortage of time, so I borrowed).

Rip Chord Invitational Welcome to the RIP CHORD INVITATIONAL!! Held at Stanley Hall, in front of 63 people. "Last year, you guys saw me win this title. Well, I am here to inform you that nothing is going to change. Line up 3 guys, 4 guys, as many guys as you want. Nothing is taking this belt off my waist." Mainstream Hernandez announces (F+) The first match of the tournament features Max Mayhem and reliable veteran Bob Casey. vs. This match was nothing special, as we see Max Mayhem defeat Bob Casey in just over 9 minutes by pinfall (E+). "Well that was a match I guess. Solid performance from the two men here today" Marv Earnest was saying. "Next up we hope this young man impresses you, as we booked one of our finest against an aged rookie." vs. [IMG]http://www.ubrnet.com/images/Dazzling%20Dave%20Diamond.jpg[/IMG] Des Davids v. Dazzlin' Dave This match was surprisingly good, as Des and Dave seem to click a little bit. Des had the athletic advantage though, and pinned Dazzling Dave in 7:44 (D+). "Well it seems there is a break in the wrestling action, as your tag team champions, Natural Storm, are ringside. "Well well well... Look at the crowd here to see us" DC is saying, to a pop from 60 or so people. "Do you think that... they came to see these belts (they hold up the tag belts) Around our waists, because I think so. I challenge anyone. ANYONE. in the locker room to try to take them from us. All of a sudden, music comes on... "That would be one of the bosses new signings, Vita. What is she doing out here?" "Fine, you guys want a challenge...? You got it. I have two of my boys in the back, and they will bring MAW to a NEW level of wrestling never seen before. Their first victims will be none other than you. (E , E-). "A new level of wrestling...? I don't think any of the guys in the back will take too kindly to that, but this should prove interesting none the less. Next up is another two newcomers trying to make an immediate impact on the company." vs. This match saw two new acquisitions, Dog Fyte and Kashmir Singh, give it their all. Dog Fyte just proved too much to handle for Kashmir, and made him submit in 5:13 (D). "Wow look at this matchup. This could have easily been the final. Watch these two work their magic in the ring." vs. This match lived up to the early "Match of the Year" billing. It was a back and forth battle, with Mean Machine almost scoring numerous pinfall victories, yet in the end Mainstream hit the Apparition #14 to secure his spot in the semi-finals (C+). "Lets get the semi final matches started, again between two talented workers that won previously today. Des Davids and Dog Fyte. vs. This match featured the two going back and forth, but it seems that Des Davids just didn't have it working for him in this match. Dog Fyte was able to keep him off of his game, and scored another victory, propelling him to the finals (D). "Next up, we have Mainstream and Max Mayhem, kind of a surprise entry in this tournament. Mainstream had a long match previously, so let's see if he's up to the challenge." vs. Randy Maxx looked to take the upper hand early, as this match was halfway decent. Mainstream proved too much to handle though as his skill took over the match winning it in 6:47 (D+). "Mainstream seems to be holding up on his promise. Now lets see who Vita's team is, as she promised that they would show us a new style of wrestling." vs. w/ Tag Team Title Match Thats... Thats frankie Perez! and Angel De Mexico! Wow, I never thought that they would team up, but that team has some skills!" Frankie Perez looked amazing in this match, but Los Combatientes weren't enough for the experience of Natural Storm, who barely walk away with their tag belts (D+). "And now, Ladies and Gentlemennnnnn. The moment you have waited for all night, the final for the RIP CHORD INVITATIONAL TITLE!!!!!" All 60 fans go crazy. vs. Rip Chord Invitational Challenge Title Dog Fyte proved a tough challenge for the reigning champion. Both combatants pushed each other to their limits, which is surprising since this is their 3rd match of the night. Having been through this once before though, Mainstream Hernandez again hit the Apparition #14 to pin Dog Fyte for the 1-2-3 and retains his title. Having to wrestle 2 more matches after having a C+, 17 minute match is tough. Dog Fyte also proved to be a good signing for me. Dave Diamond surprised in his performance. Natural Storm looked rough as Frankie Perez took them to town.

I walk into Rip's office and he has a huge grin on his face. "What are you thinking now" I dumbly ask. "I was reading on the internet that our show was a huge success and the critics loved it. While I was at it I got a webpage for us, as we are not just a local fed anymore. Use that whenever possible." Wow... We already went from local to a little larger area for audience. I only hope the success keeps rolling. "Rip, I'll leave the next card on your desk. Approve of it will ya, and I'll upload it as soon as I get it back" I said as I walked back to my office.

MAW Fatal Intentions Held at Stanley Hall in front of 66 People "Well now... look at all these people that turned out. I know you all heard that there was a big announcement I had to make, but first things first. Mainstream Hernandez, I would like to congratulate you on AGAIN winning the Rip Chord Invitational. You now get a chance at Steven "The Future"... Rip Chord gets interrupted though (B for the big announcement, B+ for him promoing). "Hold on, hold on. Steven Parker, The Future? You have GOT to be kidding me. Everybody in this whole damn place knows that Cameron Vessey is the only thing holding this company afloat, and I haven't even had a MATCH yet. These fans will know what I mean soon though, and don't even get me started on "Mainstream" Hernandez. That performance I saw last week was a joke." Cameron Vessey announces to some boos (D). "You insolent... Fine, you want to prove yourself? Be out here later, you'll get your shot at The Future. AND his tag partner. Let's see how much is just talk." Rip says, to the pleasure of fans (D-). Vs. "Trademark" Thomas Morgan and Antonio put on a surprisingly good match to open the show. It was a back and forth technical battle, with Thomas Morgan reversing Antonio's suplex hitting the Registered Trademark and scoring the pin in 11:23 (D+). After the match, the two shake hands as a sign of respect for a well-fought match (F-). "Well I'm sure hope everyone has learned not to interrupt their boss. Now back onto the subject. There was an important announcement I had to make today concerning the future of the company. That is I would like to announce that you will all see a six-man singles match for the NEW MID ATLANTIC POWER TITLE" He throws the microphone down to a pop from all in attendance (B). w/ vs. A decent match, but nothing special. Again we see Frankie Perez carrying the match, hitting Stan "The Man" Manna with the Perfect Parity to pick up the win in 13:21 (D-). "Next up we have a special youngster in MAW who wants to showcase his skills apart from his tagmate who has had his share of limelight recently." vs. Erik Strong seemed to dominate the whole match. Max Mayhem never got on the offensive, and at 7:36 Erik decided to end it with a Strong Sault (D-). "Next up is the Power Title Match! I hope this title starts out with a bang, because it is a title match. Eventually Primal Rage had the know-how and power to overcome all other men to walk away as the first ever Mid Atlantic Power Champion (D). Primal Rage celebrates his new belt (F). vs. The boss got his point across in this match, as The A* Alliance dominated Cameron Vessey. After an almost 6 minute beatdown they laid over him for the 1-2-3 and left the Second Generation Superstar down in the ring (D-). "And now a repeat of last month's MAW Match of the Year candidate, we see Mainstream Hernandez trying to prove he deserves a title shot against The Mean Machine." vs. Another match of the year candidate put on by these two. The internet was blowing up with praise about our tiny shows outshining big promotions and no bad words were to be had. We still have many more signings, as well as trying to get our hands on a few bigger names to carry us through the year. Stay Tuned MAW fans!! More news to come.
