Post Your Best Cards Here...(I can't buy an 'A')

Recommended Posts

Playing as CZCW, I just had my best show ever. I was really happy with this one... Dark Match: Jeremiah Moose defeated Marc Speed -- D Main Show: Burning Exile defeated Flying Jimmy Fox -- D+ (For some reason, Exile doesn't click with nearly my entire midcard. I was hoping he'd be able to have a good match with one of them. No, he can't.) Thomas Morgan defeated Angel De Mexico -- C- Remmy Skye defeated Snap Dragon -- B- (These two are in the middle of an awesome feud.) Insane Machine defeated Citizen X -- C Plague defeated Fox Mask to retain the Xtreme Title -- B- Matt Sparrow defeated Ultimate Phoenix to retain the CZCW Championship -- B- OVERALL: B- That's the best overall card I've had so far with CZCW. (But I don't have a whole lot of time to play, sadly. I've been playing this game for just over 3 weeks now and am only in Week 3 of March, 2007.) for the record, the best match I've put on with CZCW so far as been B+ rated, Plague vs. Insane Machine.

Well, since it's back... Even though I'm drowning financially, my GCG run has been quite successful critically. I've managed a few really good shows, but my best was... GCG Glory Daze Tour (Thursday) //Dark Match// Shotaro Ikina & Naonobu Murkami def. Barry Griffin & Henry Bennett // C+ Gotta make Ikina earn that $4000/month somehow, I guess. //A NOTPW-Style Exhibition!// Dark Angel def. Frankie Perez // B Not a bad second match in GCG for P-Dawg, who's been a great talent trade for me considering his price to match quality ratio. //Gaijin Showdown//American Rules// Pistol Pete Hall def. Bulldozer Brandon Smith // B+ Very impressive debut for Smith, who with absolutely no overness in the country managed to pull out a B+ match. I hope I stay in control of GCG long enough to give Pete the title, god knows the old man deserves it. //GCG Openweight Title RE-Match// Takayuki 2000 (c) def. Jimmy Cox // A I had hoped this would be a good match, but since they've never hooked up in my game yet I was surprised at just how good it was. Cox isn't a spectacular worker by any means, but he's got chemistry with like half my roster. //Special Tag Team Challenge// Hiroyasu Gakusha & Kiminobu Kuroki def. Masutaru Kataoka & Harumi Okazawaya // C+ A disappointment, considering Gakusha vs. Katakoa for the title got me an A*, but perfectly acceptable wrestling for GCG. //Main Event//30-Minute Time Limit Exhibition// Toshiharu Hyobanshi def. Yasuhide Tayama // A* Wow, and these guys have no special chemistry notes either; their first meeting drew a B-. Hyobanshi must be working hard to get back in my good graces after his match with Gakusha at Parade of Champions flopped. Final Show Rating: A As you can see, plenty of quality wrestlers available to GCG - their problem is strictly financial, and I'm now a month away from going into debt despite raising to cult size. Guess my booking style is more suited to a bigger promotion, where the aim is card quality rather than conserving money =)

I've had 2 A shows with TCW. TCW Presents Total Championship Wrestling (Week 4, February 2007) Rick Law def. Madman McMahon (Larry Wood) (B+) Puerto Rican Power def. Grunt (D-) Jacob Jett def. Ice Man C.A. (B-) Burning EXILE def. Texas Pete (B-) Jack Attack def. American Buffalo & Giant Tana (B-) Tag Team Specialists def. Rebels With A Cause, The Darkness Warriors & The Tokyo Express (B-) Gengis Rahn def. Rhino Umaga (B-) The Machines def. The Young Guns to retain the titles (B) Jack Avatar def. Liberty (B-) Wolf Hawkins def. BLZ Bubb (B-) Tommy Cornell def. Ultimate Phoenix (B+) Troy Tornado def. Ricky Dale Johnson (A*) Comments: I was kind of amazed this show got an A rating, though, I pretty much credit it to the last 2 matches. Though, the opener was far better than expected. Oh, and I just have Burning EXILE on a short term contract, he's not written or anything. TCW Presents Total Championship Wrestling (Week 1, March 2007) (DARK MATCH: Rhino Umaga def. Ice Man C.A (B-) Ultimate Phoenix def. Burning Exile to retain All Action title (B+) Puerto Rican Power def. Texas Pete (D) Jacob Jett def. Chance Fortune (C+) Rebels With A Cause (Frankie Perez, Remmy Skye) def. American Buffalo & Giant Tana (B) Wrestling Machine #1 def. Liberty (B+) The Tag Team Specialist def. Jack Attack (B-) Bryan Vessey def. Wrestling Machine # 2 (B+) Troy Tornado def. Madman McMahon (A) Jack Avatar def. BLZ Bubb (B) Wolf Hawkins def. Gengis Rahn (B+) Tommy Cornell def. Rick Law (A) Comments: This one made a lot more sense to me. Bryan Vessey made his first appearance off of the talent trade I got him in (I was getting sick Cornell's crazy owner goals, so I started this game as the owner, traded Cornell to PGHW.) I was kind of amazed at the Troy Tornado/Larry Wood A quality match, though, Troy Tornado has definitely been my MVP to this point, and Larry Wood hasn't been a slouch either. Oh, and the reason why there are so many matches on these cards is due to the poor stamina of a lot of my workers, and I save the bigger longer matches for PPVs.

I began my game as a created NECW (New England Championship Wrestling). It was local and ended up going bankrupt in mid 2006. It took a few months for me to sign anywhere since positions hadn't opened up. Mexico Premier Wrestling Federation had a head booker position open and I snagged it! It's currently December 2010. It took me until March 2010 to get a TV deal and I just signed a PPV deal in October. It's been a long time coming. Anyway, this is my PPV card I just booked exactly a month ago. Oscar Golden and Nigel Svennsson def. The Dragons, B rating. (I edited Nigel so he could work in Mexico) Fearless Blue def. Xavier Reckless to retain the Campeon de Lucha MPWF title, C- rating. Luna Libre (Luna Ligera and Luna Oscura) def. Latino Kings to retain the Campeones de Parejas MPWF titles, C rating. Ash Campbell def. Jared Johnson, B rating. Al Alborotador Seguro, El Bestia Purpura, and El Serpiente def. El Hereoe Mexicano, El Orgulloso, and Daredevil Aero to retain the Campeones de Trios MPWF title, C+ rating. Black Eagle def. Amazing Fire Fly, A rating. Logan Rodzen def. Arthur Dexter Bradley to retain Campeon de Herencia de Mundo MPWF title, A* rating. I ended up getting a 0.07 buyrate and an A overall show rating. Which is 0.01 up from my October PPV, so I'm progressing.

You seem to have picked up every reasonable new worker there is. :) Oleg, Nigel, Alicia,... You even have that jolly freelancer with'em, Burning EXILE. But wow, seeing how you guys pull off A-ratings like fries on a stove, sort of speak. In my games, the AI only rarely pulls off A-cards, and only has a handful of A* matches. I myself only managed a C+ card with ROF in its first 3 years (which is imho pretty decent), and a B+ card with 5SSW in year 2(?). Here it is. It was during a closure show of the Jan Tour in 2008, attended by 1600 (didn't arrange PPV yet 'cause I wasn't Cult yet). Pre-Show: Ikuko, Shiori & Yoko def. Ochiyo, Kinuye & Kuniko D -Umeko Hotta def. Chitose Ariwara C -Otsune Tsumura def. Tomoko Nagatsuka D+ -Mitsu Ariwa won a battle royal for the All-Asian Title (participants include J-Ro, DEVIL, Yuna, and more mid-level crap) C -Thunder Hike def. Nene Ebina B -Kit Hatoyama def. Crusher Ichihara C -Kiko Sakakibara drew with Saeko Hiroyuki B- * Sensational Ogiwara def. June Butler retaining the World Title A Not that good at all, but my best one anyhow. :) Another B+ was a regular tour show in front of 942 only : (januari 2007) Pre-Match?: Huntress def. Chitose C- Saori def. Saeko C Nene def. Megumi B- DEVIL def. Suzanne Brazzle B Yuma def. Connie retaining All-Asian Title C All Business def. The Rainbow Girls retaining Tag Title C June def. Sensational B Kit def. Joanne B Crusher def. Thunder retaining Worlds Title A
You seem to have picked up every reasonable new worker there is. :) Oleg, Nigel, Alicia,... You even have that jolly freelancer with'em, Burning EXILE.
Rip gave me a block that i can only hire people B- or higher in basics, so anytime someone enters in the wrestling world i snatch them up if i can. i've only managed those two A shows but i've pulled in a ton of B- to B+ shows. i think the A matches have to do with chemistry, the fact that i have a few guys known nationally, and that most of the time i do get an A match, both guys have some decent momentum and are insanely over in my home turf. i keep a notebook spiral where i write down every match that is B- or higher, notes on who has good chemistry, and i write down who has bad chemistry. i use that to determine what match ups will be good, and what place on the card they will have. it's very helpful. i've been pulling in a few A - A* matches lately, and i think i may be able to run a card with just those matches and promos from the guys with A popularity in the mid atlantic, i'm going to see i actually run a perfect show.... probably not, but it's worth a try.

I've had two B rated shows as WLW, one of which was the tour finale of my last tour of the year, so it was quite a way to end the year. Other promotions are the best things that can happen, as 5SSW went under in January 08(Something I may have had a hand in... *smirk*) and GCG tragically fell from grace, and since then I've introduced the WLW World Level Queen title, and I have a women's division which is more or less the flyers of 5SSW, Alicia Strong, JRo, and Kit. My main event scene has been boosted by the signings of "Super K", Hiroyasu, Marlowe and T2K from GCG. Hell Monkey and Marlowe saved a subpar card with an incredible B+ main event which I just threw together for the star power of it and ended me with a B- overall.

Well...the thread calls for "Best Card", not "Good Card". So here's mine: Primal Rage d. Jacob Jett D+ Cameron Vessey d. Battle Sakata D Doug Peak d. Frankie Perez D Champaign Lover d. Larry Wood for the WEXXV King of the Death Matchs Title C Ryu Kajahara d. Adam Matravers for the WEXXV Warriors Heart Title C- Card Rating: C- I can't remember now but most of these were Hardcore matches and the Champaign Lover/Larry Wood fight was a Japanese Barbwire affair that went on awhile.

Sorry to bump this, but I uploaded an image for another thread so I'll upload the other while I'm at it. Maybe not potentially the best card, and I know is ain't hard to put together, but hey :). Good enough imo. (my 2nd best ever prolly since the 'best card' says another show was supposedly better)

I must admit it is doable to have McFly have good matches without any overness in Japan. But trading Miwa... I AIN4T POSSIBLE I TELLS YA !!88!!!8 J-Ro and Sensational can indeed work in Japan (few years playing in the Cornellverse and I kinda figured that out, thanks for the credit, or not), but the crowd is gonna crap on in-ring women in WLW. Change the product settings? Last time I looked, this game is a booking game, which makes you, the player,... the booker. That's right! And I doubt you can change the product without losing a lot of fans (but again, I must admit, that prolly happened since there are only 1000 of 'em left for an event of that size, pretty low indeed). You can also be owner yourself, yada yada... Still, Jezus, drop the offense man. You're making such a big deal out of out it. Don't be obsessed by correcting whatever mistakes someone is making on a friggin' board. Judging by the written 'tone' of my post I wasn't asking for your opinion on the matter, and was just joking, really. So plz, take no offense in this FuelFan, you're doing a great job. ;) @ Thriller: I didn't change anything. Normally, only do a few segments, most of them hyping main event calibur matches in storyline settings, and you'll normally get +B-ratings for segments.

And I'll admit, I've used the editor a mere two times, once to change woman's to integrated(Koji is a grumpy old man and won't let me change it in game) and to end Kudo's contract, and as such, I felt it wasn't really right to call it WLW anymore, so therefor, I changed the name to "EXODUS Professional Combat Troupe" (Check out the journal, I'm currently in the middle of writing out the roster highlights, but after that I'll have things rolling smoothly. Haha, I didn't take any offense, thanks for the response Blackman, good to see someone's reading. And how did the show get a B+? Did you not see the slammin' main events? =P
