Adam Ryland
To recap: patches stop errors from happening. That means if the error has already happened, the patch won't "go back" and fix it, but it will prevent it from happening again.
NickC13573
So It WILL affect savegames, from errors?
Adam Ryland
It will stop save games from getting further errors, it will not fix errors already in them.
Sensai of Mattitude
Updated title lineages won't appear in existing save games though, will they?
Adam Ryland
Actually, interestingly enough, the CornellVerse title lineages are one of the very few files that you can add straight into a save game, as long as you are using the default CornellVerse and didn't do any editing prior to beginning the game. If you remind me on Monday, I'll explain how to do it.

James Casey
Will it effect titles that have already changed hands, or will the histories just be added in prior to any changes?

Know. That. My point was that something that works for the CornellVerse shoul work for real world mods, as well, because I'm pretty sure the game doesn't know the difference. Or does it? Not just that it works for the C-Verse, so I think it's just more about differing data rather than what sort of mod you're using.
