January 2008 Week 1 - Warlord Pain beats Giant Redwood for the USPW National title, his second. - Remo's contract has come up for renewal with SWF. - With an eye on GCG's situation, a new addition has been made to 1.3 in which cash-strapped promotions go into a "lockdown" mode. This is where they go down to the bare minimum of workers in order to try and stop bleeding money. The results are immediate, as both GCG and ELPF go into lockdown. GCG get rid of SUKI, Henry Bennett, Namboku Makuda and Takesi Umehara. ELPF fire Roberto Milano, Wael Hossam, Kalu Owusu and Herschel The Hammer. - Nevada Nuclear wins his first SWF title, beating Calamari Kid for the Shooting Star title. - Falling to just $2,000 in their account, 5SSW hit the panic button; out go Otsune Tsumura, Saori Nakadan, Chitose Ariwara, and Connie Morris. Nakadan was a former world champion for the company. All four jobbed out on their final night with the company. - Shawn Gonzalez is the new head booker of NYCW. - The Great Hisato takes over as 5SSW head booker, and will hope that with the emergency firings of yesterday, he can take them back to profit making. - Gonzalez makes his first signing as NYCW booker, hiring Dazzling Dave Diamond. - Luis Montero Jr and Phoenix II are now enemies behind the scenes of OLLIE. - Painful Procedure didn't hold the TCW tag team titles long, they drop them to The Tag Team Specialists (Joel Bryant and Robert Oxford), who start their third reign. - ROF sign Ali Bloxsome. - Mayan Idol becomes MPWF's new champion, beating last year's Mexican wrestler of the year, Soul Taker (18th in the top 100). - Silver Shark loses the WLW Show Stealer title to fellow masked man, UK Dragon. - GCG fire Yoshii Shiomi, as they continue to search for ways to stop losing money. Week 2 - Kiko Sakakibara wins her third 5SSW All-Asian title, beating June Butler. - Texas Pete inexplicably gets his third International title, pinning Jack Griffith. - Looks like Nemesis woke up; Ash Campbell, his son, is DAVE's newest recruit. - Steven Parker and Persephone split up. - Brett Biggz beats Nevada Nuclear to win his third Shooting Star championship. - Thug beats The Highland Warrior to become the new MOSC champion. - Takayuki 2000 gets his GCG Openweight title back of Shotaro Ikina. - Shawn Gonzalez's debut event as NYCW head booker is a good one; the company was averaging a D+ event in 2007, his first one is a solid C, headlined by his own failed quest to get the Empire title off Stevie Grayson, and a solid Steve Flash vs Cameron Vessey match on the undercard. - Such is the lack of depth on CGC's roster that Gargantuan, who is only at E+ popularity in the country at the moment, is already a midcarder and is in the main event of some TV shows. If it wasn't for the DeColts, John Maverick and Mainstream Hernandez, CGC would basically be dead in the water. Week 3 - Well, we could be in for a very busy week. From my testing, plus posts around the forum, I've decided that it's too easy for promotions to rise, especially to the point where there are multiple global federations. So, I've altered the code to make it a little tougher. The changes will appear in the 1.3 patch for everyone else, but as this game is always played under the most up-to-date game possible, it's is very likely that as soon as I go to the next day, a handful of promotions will fall in size to match the new requirements. It should also mean that the promotions who have been putting on very poor shows (in particular CGC and USPW spring to mind) should find themselves losing popularity rather than simply maintaining their existing levels. - Crikey...well, that shook things up. This may take a while to go through. - The big casualty is SWF, who have dropped all the way to Cult. You may think that is a bit harsh, but they're actually down to C+ popularity across North America, and have been putting on some pretty weak shows for the past six months. As you'd expect, this has triggered panic at Eisen HQ, and there's a raft of firings; Mick Muscles, Mikel Alonso, Andre Jones, Knuckles, Valiant, Shady K, T-Rex, Kurt Laramee, Nevada Nuclear, Jim Force, Dawn The Cheerleader, Duane Fry, and three referees. Well, those were the guys I'd have probably fired too, but there's a few guys in that list who would make excellent additions to other promotions, particularly Valiant and Nuclear. - GCG fall to Regional size, which frankly may end up saving them. Barry Griffin, Stuart Ferdinand, Morimasa Kato and Spyder Yakuta are all out. - NOTBPW fall back to National size, but that's not much of a drop for them, so only one referee is a casualty. - USPW deservedly fall to Regional size after their awful shows of 2007. Pete The Hillbilly and Patrick Cool are canned. - Remember, the bookers won't usually get fired (if they are going to get fired) for a few days yet, it'll happen when their performance is reviewed. The guys in question are Sam Keith (SWF), Victoria Stone (NOTBPW), Kazu Yoshizawa (GCG), and Danny Jillefski (USPW). - SWF look like they've decided to rebuild via the Bumfhole kids; Zimmy wins the North American title off Angry Gilmore. Both main singles titles are with the Bumfholes now. On the same show, Frederique Antonio Garcia beats Brett Biggz to win his first Shooting Star title. Incidentally, with all the dead wood gone, SWF put on one of their best shows for quite some time. The mass firings could be a blessing in disguise. - Over in 5SSW, Kiko Sakakibara and Yuma Maruya beat Butler and Nagatsuka to win the tag titles. - Joey Beauchamp beats Rolling Johnny Stones to win the 21CW title in one of the best matches in company history. - Mitsunari Fugunaga, who won the WLW Tap Out title during his last tour with the company but was forced to vacate it when he didn't return, wins the title for a second time. He beats Arata Yasuhiro. - Enrique Merino is the surprise new champion of SOTBPW, beating Pablo Rodriguez. Normally a tag wrestler, obviously they're trying new things to cover the gaps on their roster. - Alex DeColt beats his brother Steve to become a four time CGC champion. - Toshiharu Hyobanshi is the new kingpin in GCG, beating Pistol Pete Hall who managed 24 title defences. That's Hyobanshi's first title reign. - It looks like Mitch Naess is on his way out of DAVE. - TCW are quick to capitalise on SWF's fall; they take Dawn The Cheerleader, who was unemployed for a whole five days. - Fate beats Bobby Thomas for the CGC Canadian title. He was left without a partner when Insane Heat \ Destiny left for NOTBPW many months ago, it looks like he's being pushed as a solo star now. - Another ex-SWF worker ends up in TCW, and this time it's former announcer Duane Fry. Week 4 - Mastericco wins the vacant OLLIE title, his first reign. - SWF Supreme TV looks like it won't be on for much longer, their ratings have tanked since their fall to Cult size. They do have two other shows on the air though, and Supreme TV is only their secondary one, behind Snap Shot. - USPW American Wrestling, one of their two shows, is also looking like it'll be pulled. - Rod "The God" Todd beats Pit Bull Brown for the 21CW UK title. - Tomoko Nagatsuka, former two-time 5SSW tag team champion, gets released. - Sexual Aggression (Joe Sexy and Angry Gilmore) beats the Warriors Of The Deep for the SWF tag team titles. They've been two of the most consistent workers in the company, and deserve more titles. - Incidentally, now that SWF have dropped, there is the danger that if any of their top stars' contracts come up for renewal, they'll realise that they can jump not only to TCW, but also NOTBPW, CGC or DAVE, all of whom are on the same level or higher than SWF now! Christian Faith in DAVE? Runaway Train in TCW? It could happen. - It's the third Rip Chord Invitational, and a cracking event sees Mainstream Hernandez beat Steven Parker to win his second tournament in three years. - Spanish Superfly and Electo of MPWF are apparently now enemies. - Demon Spite, ex-USPW champion, is on his way out of the promotion. At this point, USPW would be far better off if the Demons and Lords Of War all left, as they're producing some awful matches, as you'd expect from guys their age. - Mexican Hardcore Wrestling opens. Mexico's industry and economy are both about to hit heights, so this is a great time to debut a new company. - Well, two out of the four bookers mentioned earlier lose their jobs; Sam Keith and Danny Jillefski are both removed from power. A new SWF head booker is always an exciting announcement, and my intincts are that we may seem someone controversial get it, perhaps even a TCW defector. - 5SSW end their tour. - MPWF midcarder Apprentica Jr is out for over a year with a head injury. - Gino Montero, son of the legendary Luis, enters wrestling. He's the future of lucha libre, and MHW should snap him up if they want a chance to thrive. February 2008 Week 1 - More trouble for SWF. Now their main TV show, Snap Shot, is also under threat. At this rate they'll be down to one monthly event soon. - Emerald Angel wins the WLW Universal title for a second time, defeating Koji Kojima. Haru Kurofuji wins the Show Stealer title off UK Dragon on the same card. - A real d'oh moment for USPW; after Grandmaster Phunk had been single-handedly working magic by taking Peter Valentine to C+ rated matches for most of the past two months, in his unsuccessful quest to win the title, the man to finally take the belt off him is...Giant Redwood. That's his fourth reign with the belt. - DJ Reason joins ROF. - Farrah Hesketh of AAA is the surprise choice to replace Sam Keith as SWF head booker. As a sign of how far the company has fallen, she's not even signed to an exclusive deal, they're sharing her with AAA and CGC. Well, on the plus side, she's better looking than Sam. - NOTBPW get a new show, called Passion. CGC will also be adding a second TV show, called Shockwave, which is also what DAVE's existing show is named. - SOTBPW announce a new pay-per-view deal. - SUKI is picked up by PGHW for their next tour. - Former GCG man Barry Griffin returns to the UK, to work for ROF. - Things are really picking up for GCG; since their fall in size and roster cut, they've slashed their debt from $100,000 to just $50,000. At this rate, they may actually pull off a miracle escape. - DAVE legend Johnny Martin is the new head booker of USPW. - Toby Juan Kanobi loses his UCR European title to Beast Bantom. - Not a good start for Johnny Martin; one day after getting the USPW job he is injured during a DAVE match, and is out of action for two months. He's made his first decision though - Lex Appeal gets the boot from the company. - The American Independent shows have suddenly picked up in quality, as all the ex-SWF guys are working it. Week 2 - SWF lose their Snap Shot show, the final one was headlined by a good Rich Money vs. Jack Bruce bout. - Peter Valentine breaks his wrist, but won't take any time off. - It's two shows down in two days for SWF; Supreme TV is also dropped following a show in Puerto Rico headlined by Money vs Faith. The two loses have sent SWF's prestige down to C+, they're really taking a hammering this year. They're now only level on prestige with DAVE, and a huge amount behind TCW, who are at A*. - Larry Wood wins the WLW Street Fighting title, pinning Magnum KOBE. - Jeri Behr wins the UCR Female title off Speedy Marie. - Runaway Train retakes the SWF world title, for the third time, beating Randy Bumfhole in the main event of SWF's latest pay-per-view. Incidentally, SWF are still putting on the highest PPV ratings in the world, thanks to the fact that they have an exclusive deal with the biggest provider. You can bet TCW would like to steal that from them. - Peter Valentine turns down a USPW contract offer, which may be the best thing to happen to them in a long time. - Genghis Rahn beats Texas Pete for the TCW International title. Things have been a bit quiet in TCW this year so far. - GCG veteran Naonobu Murkami is released as a cost-cutting measure. - Wonder Boy becomes a two-time UCR European champion, beating Beast Bantom. - Sadly, we're half way through the second month of the year, and nobody has hit an A grade match yet. Week 3 - Holy crap; you wait ages for one, and then two come along together. NOTBPW becomes the first promotion to hit back-to-back A grade matches on the same show, with Jeremy vs Duane Stone and Sean McFly vs Tim Westybrook both delivering big time. The show itself is only a B+, but it had to be inches from an A. - TCW are in on the act the next day, as Cornell and Wrestling Machine #2 hit an A too. The Natural defeats Steve Gumble for the All Action title earlier on in the show. - Donnie J is apparently invincible; he's still the CZCW champion, and is still defending it each and every month. - Koshiro Ino is back in BHOTWG, albeit on a short term deal. - USPW lose one of their TV shows, but end with a title change, as Sgt. Bubba Lee West, one of the few bright spots in the company, beating Warlord Pain for the National title. - Calamari Kid becomes a four time Shooting Star champion, beating Garcia. - Nate Johnson is the new CGC Canadian champ, beating Fate. - The first big contract to come up for renewal since SWF's fall is...Jack Bruce. Could he be soon heading back to TCW? - Guide wins the DAVE Brass Knuckles title, beating Shawn "Head Booker For Hire" Gonzalez. Week 4 - Another A grade match for NOTBPW, and it's a tag bout where Edd Stone and Sean McFly beat Dan and Duane Stone. - USPW lose their other TV show, leaving them totally untelevised. It's a notable event though, as Ash Campbell gets his first ever title shot (although he loses to Sgt. Bubba) and Warlord Pain rebounds from last week's loss to win the USPW World title off Giant Redwood. - Insane Machine, Larry wood, and Nathan Coleman are all confirmed for BHOTWG's next tour. - Joey Poison loses the 4C title in a three way dance to CZCW's Citizen X. Barry Kingman was also in the match. - The WLW tag titles seem to have been bouncing around a bit, although most were under my radar. Since Kojima and Kurofuji won them in April, they have gone to Eguchi The Amazing and UK Dragon, and Toyokuni Hardcore and Magnum KOBE. The latter have just dropped them to Fukusaburu Inao and The Incredible Koyama. - Ex WLW star Koki Ishibashi has resurfaced in Golden Canvas Grappling. - ROF kick out Ali Bloxsome, Billy Robinson, Don Henderson and Keith Adams due to financial trouble. They're down to $150 in the bank. Checking some other finances, GCG have brilliantly recovered from being $150,000 in debt at one point, and are now $77,000 in profit. - The beginning of the end for SWF? It's a very bad sign - Jack Bruce turns their contract offer down, and is leaving. That's a huge blow for them, and could be the first of many. The only big name who I can remember signing a long-term extension before the fall was Remo, so everybody else is presumably fair game for TCW raids. Incidentally, Jack's not even a main eventer, he's an upper midcarder, so if he thinks the promotion is too small, imagine what DeBones, Train, Keith and co are thinking! - DAVE bring in Rock Downpour, presumably to replace Mitch Naess. - Koji Kojima ends an unusually short title reign for Emerald Angel, becoming a four time WLW Universal champion. That's his ninth different WLW title reign. - A quick check on some of my favourites. Bulldozer Brandon Smith is now an opener for TCW, and is having regular matches, all of which are about at the C+ level. Ash Campbell is still struggling, both in USPW and DAVE. Davis Wayne Newton is having an absolute nightmare, and is stuck as a NOTBPW opener, and hasn't even wrestled this year yet. Cameron Vessey is slowly rising up the NYCW ranks. It's a very disappointing return given their collective talent. - Valiant returns to CZCW, his original home, after his RIPW\SWF exploits. Thanks to the exposure he got with SWF, he'll probably be able to go straight into the main event. - GCG are back on track; they're firing out B grade event after B grade event, and at this rate will be rising very soon. - GCG end their tour after a fantastic month. WLW are also now inactive for a while. - TCW end the run of one of their TV shows, and will make do with just two. - More financial warnings for ELPF, who look doomed, although with debts of only $16,000 they've at least got a chance to survive. - Primus Allen enters wrestling. March 2008 Week 1 - OK, so a tiny variation from my initial plan, I am doing some editing after all. The reason is that nobody has taken over MHW due to a lack of owners in Mexico. As a result, I'm giving unemployed Mateo Iglesias the skills to take it over. - Mito Miwa wins the PGHW Elite Series, his second, and the surprise is that it's Lee Bennett in the final again, for the second year running. - DAVE pull the trigger on Scout's solo run, as he wins the Unified title off Big Cat Brandon. Brandon had 21 successful defences. - Chris Caulfield is out for 5 months with amnesia. - The Powers That Be, the almost forgotten team of Tank Bradley and Joey Minnesota, win the DAVE tag titles. They'd been vacant since Martin's injury last month. - ELPF's latest show draws 83 fans, which is the final nail in the coffin for them. - Mateo Iglesias, with such a small helping hand, takes over MHW. - Pit Bull Brown gets his 21CW UK title back from Rod Todd. - Brave decision from new SWF booker Farrah Hesketh; Zimmy Bumfhole drops the North American title to Lead Belly of all people. It's extra risky as Belly's contract is up for renewal as of today. - Raul Hughes floors Arjen Van Den Leyne to win the INSPIRE King Of Fighters title for the first time. - Wrestling Machine #2, one of TCW's most consistent performers, beats BLZ Bubb for the TCW title. That may have been a reward for the A grade match he had with Cornell earlier last month. - Alicia Strong is back on tour with 5SSW next month. - DAVE re-sign Scout. - Toyokuni Hardcore, who has been busy over the past few months with INSPIRE and WLW, is now heading to GCG as well. - He's back; Yoshimi Mushashibo nails his first A grade match of the year, beating Kunomasu. - Black Eagle is off to tour with WLW next month. - GCG, apparently feeling that now they are out of financial trouble they can build their roster back up, also bring in WLW's Fukusaburu Inao and Kazuma Narato. - Wow, something of a shock; Phil Vibert's least favourite person, Kurt "The Traitor" Laramee is returning to DAVE following his SWF release. That's something that didn't seem to be on the cards. - Gino Montero apparently sneaked onto the MPWF roster without me noticing, as he has just won the secondary Lucha title from Atlantis Jr. It took him just a month to get his first title, and I think he's the only one of the Future Workers to have won a belt so far. - Marcos Flores is the new head booker of MHW, and he's already signed a few wrestlers, including Phoenix II and Inca Jr. Week 2 - TCW's TV show has an interesting main event; Wrestling Machine #2 beating Wrestling Machine #1 to retain the world title. It got a B grade. - The A* Alliance of Steven Parker and Ricky Douglas beat Natural Storm to win the MAW tag team titles. - Koshiro Ino is out of PGHW, having returned to BHOTWG. - Well, I called it; not only does Valiant return to CZCW as a main eventer, his re-debut sees him beat Donnie J for the Coastal Zone title. - PGHW Night Of PRIDE sees them replicate NOTBPW's feat of back-to-back A matches; Mushashibo over Kunomasu is the obvious one, but it is preceded by Inukai over Bryan Vessey. It's a B+ overall. - Champagne Lover will be touring with GCG next month. He's been with BHOTWG and WLW before now. - UK Dragon goes lucha, he'll be with MPWF on a verbal deal. - Eddie Chandler says he may go to Japan eventually. Since leaving CGC he's gone up to A grade overness across Canada, and is a NOTBPW main eventer now. - Dan and Jeremy Stone win the Ed Henson tag tournament for the second time in two years, and fourth overall. They beat Sean McFly and Shane Nelson in the finals. Shane and Sean are now apparently a regualar team too, which is good for Nelson. - Tetsunori Yasuda beats Ryoma Muruyama for the PGHW International championship. Week 3 - Jacob Jett takes the NOTBPW Unlimited Action title off Eddie Chandler. - PRIDE Koiso and Kozue Kawashima finally drop the PGHW Glory tag team titles after 24 defences, losing to Akinori Kwakami and Lee Bennett. - Gareth Wayne, late of WEXXV, comes to GCG. - NOTBPW have two title changes; Dark Angel beats Jacob Jett on his first title defence to win the Unlimited Action title, while Stephanie Hazel beats Melody Cuthill for the women's belt. - CGC bring Joey Poison back in, he left them in 2007. - Bad news for GCG, after such a run of positivity; Pistol Pete Hall has not signed a contract extension, and is on his way out. This is a guy who is averaging a B grade match at the moment, which is extraordinary. - SWF appear to be trying to destroy Jack Bruce's credibility; he's being used as a job boy for Lead Belly's North American title run. - Roger Dodger and Danny Rushmore are having trouble backstage with USPW. - Yoshii Shiomi wins the BHOTWG Openweight belt again, beating Nissho Yuasa. - TCW have not extended the deal of Harry Allen, the former four time All Action and four time Cruiserweight tag team champion. He shouldn't find it too hard to find work elsewhere though. - Apparently Geena The Warrior Princess is also about to pack her bags, UCR haven't re-signed her. - Over in MPWF, Gino Montero is having match of the night on almost every show. He's only 18. Week 4 - Maybe time to say good bye to another SWF worker; Steve Frehley, former world champion, has a contract up for renewal. - Tommy Cornell and Wolf Hawkins put on an A grade match on TCW's TV show. On the same night, different channel, Edd Stone scores an upset over Sean McFly to also get an A. - Shotaro Ikina is not getting a new deal with GCG. - Over in BHOTWG, Samoan Machine has reached the main event level, but loses his first ever world title shot to Masuno. - 5SSW are now out of debt, so well done to The Great Hisato. ROF in the UK have now dropped into debt though, although they appear to be the only promotion (other than the lost cause that is ELPF) in that state. - Not again. Texas Pete is now a four time TCW International champion, beating Genghis Rahn. - For some reason, Al The Hillbilly gets a contract extension with USPW. - Guide and JD Morgan are the new DAVE tag team champions, two wrestlers whose regular partners aren't around, beating The Powers That Be. - TCW's final pay-per-view of the month sees another A; it's Tommy again, this time with Jack Griffith. - In CGC, Derek Frost, who has been main eventing against Alex DeColt recently, gets the CGC Canadian title by beating Nate Johnson. - ELPF go out of business. - INSPIRE end their tour. - Ashley Grover and California Love Machine both enter wrestling. - Another one is going from SWF; Steve Frehley snubs their contract offer. He currently has A* popularity across the US, so he's got to be a prime target for TCW. - An interesting note; despite being wrestler of the year and the company's most consistent worker, Sean McFly is now only an upper midcarder, his main event place having been stolen by Eddie Chandler. - Hiroaki Nakasawa is now just 25 days away from being cleared to wrestle again.

Loving the changes. Really harsh on the Eisens, but that's a good thing ¬_¬ Frehley in TCW will be awesome. Still no mention of Carlos Gonzalez, which is strange considering his brother has now been head booker of two promotions, and NYCW would love to have a guy like Carlos curtain-jerking. If California Bump Machine gets a job before C-Gonz does, I riot :p

He's not been hired by anyone, and I don't think he's even broken the E+ grade barrier for any of his matches. I think NYCW are his most likely destination, as they picked up Cameron Vessey when he was in a similar position.
Its not really that the AI discriminates.. its just siming real life as best it can. How many times did you see back in the 90's Aja Kong or Mariko Yoshida take on Kensuke Sasake or Kenta Kobashi? Or any of the million WWE Divas take on Austin or Hogan? Short of intergender tags.. just dosen't happen. Don't blame Adam or TEW.. blame wrestling itself, heh.
First, my apologies for expressing my frustrations. It would seem that given the skill levels and lack of overness of many women's workers, that it would be a no brainer to sign them (cheap AND talented? Come on in!). But with the new 'women's wrestling' setting introduced by 1.2, that's not really possible from a game engine level. Your examples are off as AJW during its prime was considered nearly the equal of the male feds, in a country where wrestling mattered. Don't ever bring WWE into a situation where worker SKILL is of prime importance (WWE's divas have never had the kind of overness as their male counterparts and they've never had enough skill to put on a convincing match, with only 2 exceptions in the latter case, neither named 'Stratus' (Varon & Greenwald)). Plus, it actually works in the human player's favor the way it is now. An 'integrated' women's wrestling product allows a player to put on high quality matches at a low price, if in-ring skill is of prime importance to the promotion's fans. So again, I apologize. I can be prone to zealotry in this area. It's interesting to see that pretty much all of the promotions operate with somewhat bloated rosters (of varying degrees of bloat) and how much of an impact on the bottom line streamlining can have.

Wouldn't it make more sense for a new promotion to have an owner when it opens? It's a bit unrealistic, isn't it, for a MHW to open up, and then a few months later become 'owned'. Companies need a founder, after all. This might force the game balance engine to spit out an owner earlier in these cases, too...
It's important to note that games started with 1.3 won't have such a huge overnight crumbling of the SWF empire... rather, a slow decline that the AI might be able to reverse. Which means now, I want to see this done again from the begining and see what happened to SWF...
I second that! It will be interesting to see how the different promotions react when they start getting low grade cards and losing money. Perhaps they wont be so quick to job out some of the younger up and coming "stars".
The temporary version will be out tomorrow.
I can't wailt for this new version. I think it will make a bit difference. If TCW, NOTBW, and ultimately DaVE are usually going to be on the rise then SWF has to fall, at least a few notches. It will be interesting to see if they decline like WCW did. I am still concerned, however, that Sports Entertainment feds are at a significant disadvantage since entertainment skills seem to make little if any difference in the AI feds, which do not seem to run stories or angles and, moreover, since angles do horribly even with the right stills until a B- overness is attained, one cannot see how entertainment based workers can get over enough in the first place.

April 2008 Week 1 - NOTBPW start the month well; they're up to International level. This could be interesting, as they could theoretically grab a bunch of SWF talent, who got over in Canada thanks to SWF's old TV deals. - Heh heh...maybe Kurt Laramee's return wasn't too amicable. He lasted just a week before getting his wrist broken in a match with Matt Sparrow. Is "The Bird Man" Phil Vibert's secret enforcer? - Ex-INSPIRE man Claudio Burdisso beats Yoshii Shiomi for the BHOTWG openweight title, finally ending Nissho Yuasa's run of regaining it. - It only took sixteen months; AAA finally have a title change. Good Lookin' Bunny drop the tag straps to the Perfect Criminals, AKA Miss Mexico and Helen Bach. - UK Dragon wins the WLW Show Stealer title for the second time, beating Haru Kurofuji. - The Ivanoff Brothers get the 21CW tag team titles back from Leo Price and Johnny Stones. - Suzue Katayama, AAA star, will be on the next 5SSW tour. - Edd Stone claims that he is carrying NOTBPW single-handedly. Well, he does have an A-grade match to his name... - Ginko Kuroda comes into 5SSW, who are apparently rebuilding their roster now that they have money. - In an unexpected move, Johnny Martin will be leaving DAVE, who haven't re-signed him. The 38 year old USPW booker has been turning down loads of offers from TCW and NOTBPW over the past year, so he'll probably be heading to one of them. - NOTBPW sign former DAVE announcer Mitch Naess. - DAVE are giving a big push to Sammy Bach, who looks like he's their pick to become the next Unified champion. - There's a lot of contracts up for renewal all around the game world, the tastiest being Aaron Andrews in TCW. I can't see them losing a guy they've built up so well though. Week 2 - MHW hold their first show, and get a 1,000 sell out crowd. Already they're doing better than ELPF ever did. Marcos Flores wins the Universal title, while Miguel Marquez wins the badly named Television belt. The main event sees Dos Phoenix lose to Inca and Miguel Dominguez. - Shuji Inukai is out for the rest of the month with a knee injury. - Samoan Machine and Everest drop the BHOTWG tag titles to Chuichi Sanda and Ken Shimedzu. Miyamae is out recovering from a minor injury, and so wasn't on the show. - Arata Yasuhiro regains the WLW Tap Out title. - Aaron Andrews re-signs with TCW. - Enygma is frustrated, having spent an entire year out of the sport. - Sam Strong and Micky Starr are apparently no longer friends. The problems with USPW seem to be getting deeper. - Darryl Devine and Seduction are now engaged, while Sammy Bach and Emma Chase have split up. Sammy, you silly, silly man. - Kinnojo Horri regains the BHOTWG title from Yasunobu Masuno. It's his second reign. - Larry Wood drops the WLW Street Fighting title to Takesi Umehara. - Jonni Dyslexic and K'Lee Hawkins lose the ROF tag team belts to Luke Cool and Razor Valentine, who has apparently recovered from the trauma of leading ELPF into disaster. - Thunder Hike takes the 5SSW title back from Crusher Ichihara. She's now a six time champion. - UCR fire Mr. Evilness, Ali Bloxsome and Bam Bam Johansson. Over in 5SSW, AAA worker Tsuki Kawamata is also canned. - In an A grade match, Nobuatsu Tatsuko beats Yoshimi Mushashibo for the PGHW Glory Crown. He's now a two time champion. - Angry Gilmore is the latest SWF guy who could be about to leave. Week 3 - Pistol Pete Hall is now a free agent, his time with GCG over. - Crusher Ichihara has a kidney infection, and is out for the next month. - Shawn Gonzalez enjoys the benefits of being booker; he is the one to beat Stevie Grayson for the NYCW Empire title. - Rhino Umaga is off out of GCG, saying they're too small. - Harry Allen is now gone from TCW. - Captain Hero is UCR champion again, his fourth, beating Byron. Week 4 - Shane Nelson and Sean McFly, who were of course formed during the Ed Henson cup, defeat Edd Stone and Tim Westybrook to win the tag titles. This booking strategy may be back-firing though, as with Sean out of the world title picture, NOTBPW's events have been noticeably worse. - The Incredible Koyama wins the WLW Street Fighting title. - GCG lose Hidekazu. That's quite a few guys they've lost in the past two months. - TCW finally do the expected move; Jack Bruce has returned to the promotion. How long until Steve Frehley joins him? - On a related note, Angry Gilmore has re-signed with SWF after all, but it's only for a pay-per-appearance deal. - Randy Bumfhole is the next star whose SWF contract is up for renewal. Even if they get him on a PPA deal, I can't see it being long before TCW come calling. - Hiroaki Nakasawa is cleared to return...just. His back is a mess, he has an E-. That means that it'll effect his performances, and he's one injury away from being forced to retire. - Geoff Borne is the new UCR European champion, beating Wonder Boy. - UCR bring in former head booker Herschel The Hammer, and also former ELPF "star" Haiti Voodude. - In a lovely piece of business, UCR fire Herschel The Hammer and Haiti Voodude just a day after signing them. What did they do? - Mwahahah....Jay Chord enters wrestling. You know he's going straight to the top. May 2008 Week 1 - Hiroaki Nakasawa makes his big return, in the BHOTWG main event, against Yasuhiko Taira. It's a loss, but a promising B- rating, which shows he isn't going to let the injury slow him down too much. - Randy Bumfhole will be leaving SWF. What a blow, he was a guy they built from scratch, and has held every major title. - Tamara McFly makes it three NOTBPW Women's titles, beating Stephanie Hazel. - Double Shot lose the UCR tag titles to Inky and Ruud Van Anger. - SWF have lost their PPV slot on North America Prime Select, but have gotten a deal with a smaller company. This opens up the way for TCW or NOTBPW to get the biggest PPV ratings in the world instead. - Insane Machine is the new WLW Show Stealer champion, beating UK Dragon. - Mainstream Hernandez, who is becoming a huge star in Canada, turns down MAW's contract offer. Seems he may have gotten a bit of an ego. - Remo beats Lead Belly for the SWF North American title, while Kid Toma defeats Calamari Kid for the Shooting Star championship. - That didn't take long; less than a week after SWF vacated their PPV slot, TCW have snapped it up. They should now be able to put on the highest rated wrestling pay-per-views of all time. - Aaron Andrews caps his amazing rise in TCW by beating Texas Pete for the International title. - Joshua Taylor defeats Tetsunori Yasuda to regain the PGHW International title. - Bad news for WLW; Awesome Thunder is off to make movies, taking away their biggest star. Week 2 - Insane Machine and Kazume Narato beat Inao and Koyama to win the WLW Tag Team titles. - Kiko Sakakibara and Toshiharu Hyobanshi have split up. - DAVE Unified champion Scout is a surprise addition to INSPIRE's next tour. - PGHW finally get the coveted A grade show with the Night Of GLORY, primarily thanks to an A* main event of Tatsuko vs Mushashibo. - Takayuki 2000 loses the GCG Openweight title to "Super K" Kiminobu Kuroki. - Jeremy Stone becomes a five-time NOTBPW champion, beating RK Hayes. - Greg Boone is being released by NOTBPW. He's done nothing of note since the game began. Week 3 - Kazume Narato takes the same spinal injury that took out Nakasawa, and is gone for 14 months. He was working for GCG, INSPIRE and WLW at the time of the injury. Koyama now has six tag title reigns between two partners. - It gets worse for Davis Wayne Newton. He finally gets a NOTBPW match, and it ends with him losing and getting a concussion that'll put him out for a month. - Nissho Yuasa gets his BHOTWG Openweight title back, yet again, beating Claudio Burdisso. - Joey Poison is not getting a contract extension with CZCW. For such a good wrestler, Joey doesn't seem able to hold a job for very long. - By the way, Jack Bruce hasn't exactly had a storming start to his TCW career. His first match was a loss to Cornell, his second a win in a midcard tag team match, and his third is another singles defeat, to Jack Griffith. - Joey Minnesota wins the CGC Canadian title, beating Derek Frost. About time that Joey started getting back to solo wins. - Hiroyasu Gakusha beats Toshiharu Hyobanshi to win his second GCG World Heavyweight title. The two young stars get a B rating. - Randy Bumfhole gets picked up quite quickly after leaving SWF; two days to be precise. NOTBPW are the ones to sign him. That may not be the smartest move for him though, as he's only got C popularity in Canada, compared to A in the USA. Then again, NOTBPW have American TV coverage and tour there all the time, so he'll probably be able to rise extremely fast. - Bruce The Giant's USPW contract finally comes up for renewal, and there's no surprise that he's off as fast as he can. Now, he's over everywhere, so literally anyone could end up signing him. Warlord Pain's USPW contract is also almost up. - Runaway Train's contract is coming up for renewal with SWF. - Nemesis is the final big name contract that is up for renewal. - PGHW end their latest tour. - ROF have all but confirmed that they have one more show in them before bankruptcy. UCR might be following, they have been absolutely murdered by the weak European market this past three months. 5SSW have also slipped back into the red, but they've repeatedly survived that before, so there's no reason why they can't again. Japan and Europe are both in the toilet right now, but both are starting to come out of it. - Nathaniel Casino enters wrestling. - As expected, TCW's first pay-per-view with their new carrier hits a record 6.58 buy rate, although that is only 0.01 greater than SWF's biggest show. Still, it is a new record nonetheless. June 2008 Week 1 - Randy Bumfhole debuts for NOTBOW with a B grade match, losing to Johnny Bloodstone. - Kansuke Konda wins his second successive Best Of The Super Juniors tournament, beating surprise finalist Insane Machine. - Vixxen beats Raven Nightfall to win the AAA Top Contender's title. - Runaway Train rejects SWF's latest offer, and will be leaving the company. - MPWF are having similar problems, with Spanish Superfly and Soul Taker both on their way out. - Nene Ebina is released by 5SSW, meaning The Finishers tag team was very short lived. - Jay Chord will be going on tour with WLW next month. - Nemesis wants to go to a bigger promotion, and so DAVE will be losing their head booker very shortly. - Guide drops the DAVE Brass Knuckles title to Black Eagle, who is finally getting a push. - Joining Jay Chord on the next WLW tour will be former SWF champion Enygma, which is a shock. - Elmo Benson signs a contract extension with SWF, but it's a verbal deal. - PGHW apparently attempted a cheeky steal of Haruki Kudo, but he remained loyal to BHOTWG. Week 2 - Dan and Edd Stone provide another A grade match for NOTBPW. Edd has risen to A* popularity across the entire country now, and is possibly the most over person on the entire roster. Just twelve months ago he was just at C+. - Yasonobu Masuno beats Kinnojo Horri to begin his second reign as BHOTWG champion. - Angry Gilmore will be joining PGHW for their next tour, on top of his SWF work. That's a great signing for them, remember he was a big star for BHOTWG before he joined SWF. Former INSPIRE champion Arjen Van Den Leyne will be joining him on the tour. - The 21CW UK title continues to flip flop between to two men, as Rod Todd beats Pit Bull Brown to get it back again. - As expected, Runaway Train drops the SWF world title before leaving. It's to Skull De Bones, via a four way dance that also included Remo and Sam Keith. That's Skull's first time with the title. - WLW duo Bairei Yasujiro and Silver Shark both reject contract extensions from GCG. - NOTBPW's Shane Nelson, who last November was a CGC midcarder, has now gone all the way to NOTBPW main eventer, and is A* popularity across the country. He has announced that he'd like to go to Japan. Of all the surprise stars made so far, he may be the biggest shock. - Frank De Pain wins the UCR European title off Geoff Borne. - PGHW bring in former GCG star Pistol Pete Hall, on a written contract. - Mayan Idol will be leaving MPWF. None of the lucha promotions seem able to hold onto their talent these days. - A quick look at CGC reveals that they have yet to get above a C+ show at all. That's pretty bad given their roster. They continue to fall in popularity slowly, and are far behind NOTBPW now. - SWF are starting slowly rise. They were at C+'s across America following their fall, they now have turned half of them into B-. Being down to just one TV show, combined with the big loss of talent, has really made it hard for them to progress. TCW on the other hand are very stable at B's across America, and are starting to get the same for Canada too. They're actually above CGC in Canada now, and not that far behind NOTBPW. At this rate, TCW will go global before long. - In Japan, PGHW are slightly ahead of BHOTWG, although not by much, with INSPIRE, WLW and GCG behind them, in that order. Week 3 - 47 year old Robert Oxford is the new TCW All Action champion, beating The Natural. - Marat Khoklov is heading back to PGHW for their next tour. - Sgt. Bubba Lee West has turned down an NYCW contract extension. He's not done a great for them, but that's because he concentrates on his USPW work instead. - June Butler is not getting an offer from 5SSW, and so is off. She could wind up in AAA. - Chuichi Sanda and Shimedzu drop the BHOTWG Burning tag team titles to Jimmy Cox and Shingen Miyazaki. - Acid, who incidentally had a shocking 0-3 record during his time with INSPIRE, is signed to a written deal by NOTBPW, and so is leaving DAVE. The fact that he's a Canadian and so had the chance to return home may have been a factor. He never actually held a title in DAVE, which is odd. - Demon Anger is leaving USPW. Somehow he managed to not hold any titles while in the company. - MAW re-sign Paul Steadyfast, who has been a good champion for them so far. - Darryl Devine signs a PPA extension with SWF. Week 4 - The Awesome Kiyaru wins his fourth BHOTWG Junior title, beating Elemental II who managed 20 defences. - Moving to NOTBPW seems to have been a poor decision for the formerly white-hot Randy Bumfhole; he's only had one match since joining. - Joe Sexy's contract is up for renewal. - Kid Toma shatters his elbow during a match with Groucho Bling, and is out for a full year. He is forced to vacate the Shooting Star title. - Speedy Marie is once again the UCR Female champion, beating Jeri Behr, who managed ten defences. - Acid ends his stay with DAVE, who are now looking for a replacement. Jay Chord perhaps? - Nemesis ends his stay with DAVE, leaving the head booker position open. His final card is a decent B- effort, which is main evented by Big Cat Brandon regaining the Unified title from Scout in the match of the night. Ash Campbell, Nemesis' son, falls to Remmy Skye in the opener. Eddie Peak, who is still a main eventer for the company but hasn't done a great deal of note since losing his title, beats Jack Giedroyc in the semi-final position. - Ring Of Fire go out of business. Razor Valentine was on their roster at the time, meaning he's becoming an Angel Of Death figure for any promotion that employees him, he was ELPF owner too. - 5SSW are now out of debt again, while UCR are sinking deeper and deeper. - Animal Harker enters wrestling. - The TCW World title changes hands in a battle of ex-partners; Wrestling Machine #1 beats Wrestling Machine #2. On the same show, The Darkness Warriors become two-time tag team champions, beating The Tag Team Specialists.

I've just noticed, looking over all the touring companies, that maybe a slight change is needed when it comes to re-signing touring champions? It seems as though the majority of touring companies don't bother to sign their champions for the next tour, when there's no real logical reason why they wouldn't (i.e, the champion is still available).
- Angry Gilmore is the latest SWF guy who could be about to leave. - Pistol Pete Hall is now a free agent, his time with GCG over.
Bad news for SWF and GCG, great news for the rest of the world! Gilmore will no doubt do well in PGHW, Pistol Pete should go to BHOTWG or maybe DAVE, he'd no doubt be "the man" there. Pistol Pete > Nemesis.

I'm really loving the whole dynamic of the wars between SWF and TGC. It's playing out quite nicely. TGC went ahead, SWF slowly died but now their on their slow rise back to the top? It'll be interesting to see how the next couple months play out for them, as it could make or break whether there they last a lot longer. How are they doing financially through the whole mess?
