- Geoff Borne is the new UCR European champion, beating Wonder Boy. - UCR bring in former head booker Herschel The Hammer, and also former ELPF "star" Haiti Voodude. - In a lovely piece of business, UCR fire Herschel The Hammer and Haiti Voodude just a day after signing them. What did they do? (...) - Frank De Pain wins the UCR European title off Geoff Borne.
Some crazy stuff going on in UCR. What's Captain Hero smoking? Two women winning the tag titles, the Evil Henchmen still together (in my games, #2 always gets paired with Dark Falcon during the first week) and the European title steadily wandering down the card (or did these guys actually rise up)?
I'm really loving the whole dynamic of the wars between SWF and TGC. It's playing out quite nicely. TGC went ahead, SWF slowly died but now their on their slow rise back to the top? It'll be interesting to see how the next couple months play out for them, as it could make or break whether there they last a lot longer. How are they doing financially through the whole mess?
They're both absolutely loaded, it'd take a decade of bad results for them to lose their current fortunes.

July 2008 Week 1 - Yoshimi Mushashibo kicks off the new PGHW tour by defeating Nobuatsu Tatsuko for his fifth PGHW Glory Crown. - Kawashima and Koiso win the PGHW Glory Tag Crown back from Bennett and Kwakami. - CZCW are launching a new team with two of their under-used wrestlers, The Wild Riders of Jeremiah Moose and Marc Speed. - Chris Caulfield is the unsurprising choice to take over from Nemesis as head booker of DAVE. He's still out injured by the way, so he'll be booking with amnesia. It'll be like Memento....with wrestlers. - Elmo Benson beats his tag team partner Groucho Bling to claim the vacant Shooting Star title. - The WLW Shot Stealer title changes hands for the one millionth time (well, OK, maybe not quite that many), with Silver Shark becoming a three time champion by beating Insane Machine. - Tommy Cornell gets another A grade match, this time with Rick Law. - The Magnificent Mark beats Mayan Idol to become MPWF champion. - DAVE sign ex-SWF and current CZCW champion Valiant. Week 2 - Pat Deacon joins DAVE too. - Emma Bitch is now a three-time NOTBPW Women's champion, beating Tamara McFly. - Black Eagle, flushed with his DAVE successes, turns down a contract extension from CZCW. - The Natural and Catherine Quine split up. - Remmy Skye doesn't follow Black Eagle's lead, he does re-sign for CZCW. - SWF put on two good shows to raise themselves right up to International level again. They skipped National level due to the fact that they still had good popularity outside of America from the time when they were Global. - Ricky DeColt beats Alex DeColt to win the CGC title, his first. - Troy Tornado apparently wants to go to Japan. - Eagle Kawasawa, long-time GCG worker, turns down their contract extension. - Squeeky McClean re-signs with SWF, and it's a written deal, so it looks like they're out of their dark period at last. - SWF steal Jack Giedroyc from DAVE. He was one of the few DAVE men on a written deal, but it was about to run out. Looks like SWF are going to play dirty. Week 3 - Dan Stone and Eddie Chandler get an A grade match for NOTBPW. - SWF make more signings, and the big one (literally) is Bruce The Giant, a former two-time champion of theirs. Nevada Nuclear, Mick Muscles and Jim Force all make their returns to the promotion. - Honest Frank, who has been toiling away with RIPW for ages, gets a call up to the main SWF roster. Two other signings are made; Cat Jemson and Brains McGhee, both of whom are current DAVE managers. - Roger Dodger, current USPW, NYCW and CZCW worker, is signed by SWF. - Lead Belly, who has made it all the way to the upper midcard, wins the SWF North American title for the second time. - Mainstream Hernandez, who is currently a DAVE midcarder and CGC main eventer, is signed by SWF. That seemed unlikely back when the game began. - Cornell and Hawkins pull out an A for TCW. - On the heels of Mainstream's defection to SWF, CGC have him and his partner John Maverick drop the tag titles to Ryan Powell and Joey Minnesota, which is a good tag team. They'll be known as Team Thunder. - Super Falcon wins his fourth UCR European title from Frank De Pain. Week 4 - Ex-TCW man Harry Allen is heading to SWF. - Joining him will be Ash Campbell, who has apparently decided not to stay with DAVE without his dad in charge. - USPW sign Primus Allen, "The Rookie Monster". - Oooooh....Phil Vibert won't be happy. For the second time, Kurt Laramee has jumped ship to SWF! - Carlos Gonzalez finally gets signed, he's heading to MPWF in Mexico. - The Incredible Koyama, the man of a thousand WLW title wins, finally gets the Universal championship, beating Koji Kojima. - Joss Thompson, former UK star, wins the CGC Canadian title off John Maverick. A potential challenger might be Captain USA, who has just been signed. - In an enormous shock, GCG have voluntarily decided to allow former two-time champion and main young star Toshiharu Hyobanshi to leave. BHOTWG and PGHW must be rubbing their hands with glee. - UCR are on the brink of bankruptcy. - Kimitada Ohishi, former WEXXV star, is about to retire next month. - Texas Pete becomes a five time TCW International champion, beating Aaron Andrews. - Sam Keith's kids, Matthew and Greg Gauge, enter wrestling. Unfortunately their dad has no power with SWF anymore. August 2008 Week 1 - T-Rex is signed by USPW, who he used to work for before heading to SWF last year. - Suzue Katayama ends Wanda Fish's run as AAA champion which had lasted a fantastic two years and one month. - Kit Hatoyama wins the 5SSW All-Asian title from Gorgon. - Shiori Jippensha is signed by 5SSW. - Jack Giedroyc debuts for SWF with a loss to Lead Belly. - It's a bonanza of new TV shows, with six making their debut next season. BHOTWG, PGHW, WLW and INSPIRE in Japan all get new shows, and TCW and SWF both have new shows in the US. - GCG and NOTBPW debut new shows too. - Sgt. Bubba Lee West joins DAVE, which is a just reward for his good performances with USPW. - Matthew Gauge is joining CZCW. - John Maverick of CGC will be touring with GCG, and he'll be alongside Cameron Vessey and Adam Matravers. - Greg Gauge signs with DAVE. It didn't take long for Sam's boys to get work did it? Week 2 - Shawn Gonzalez is leaving NYCW, and so will leave both their main title and their head booker position vacant. - Eddie Chandler beats Shane Nelson to get his NOTBPW Unlimited Action title back. - Masaru Ugaki beats Joshua Taylor for the PGHW International title. - Hell Monkey wins the WLW Universal title off Koyama, who was a flop as champion, managing just two defences. - The Great Hisato turns down a 5SSW contract offer, and so will leave the head booker position. He saved them from bankruptcy twice, so he did good work. - Jaguar Endo is fired by 5SSW, as is Shiori Jippensha, who only got three matches. - USPW sign the big guy, Gargantuan. - Bruce The Giant makes his SWF re-debut on pay-per-view, beating Squeeky McClean. - DAVE sign SWF duo Robbie Retro and Darryl Devine, both of whom were only on PPA contracts thanks to SWF's fall. - Mike Watson beats Raul Hughes for the INSPIRE King Of The Fighters title. - Buddy Garner beats Dread for the PGHW Historical Japan title. - The Natural is now a three-time TCW All Action champion, he's beaten Robert Oxford. Week 3 - Grandmaster Phunk has turned down USPW's contract offer, and will be leaving in two weeks. - California Love Machine has been signed by SWF on a development deal, so he'll be down in RIPW. - Raku Makuda and Dragon Assassin have formed a tag team in 5SSW, and beaten Yuma Maruya and Kiko Sakakibara for the titles. - Sammy Bach finally gets a DAVE singles run, beating Black Eagle for the Brass Knuckles title in a three way dance with Shawn Gonzalez. - Matt Sparrow decides to leave NYCW. He had so little impact on the promotion that I didn't even realise he was there. Week 4 - PGHW hit back-to-back A's again; Mushashibo over Kunomasu and Bryan Vessey over Tatsuko. - Hardcore Killah and his odd-couple tag partner Warren Technique beat Phenomenal Excess for the 4C tag team titles. - Derek Frost and Dark Angel, who have been teaming together a lot recently, beat McFly and Nelson for the NOTBPW tag team straps. - SAISHO bring in SUKI, but not under a development deal. - Crusher Ichihara is now a record-tying eight-time 5SSW champion, beating Thunder Hike. - Larry Wood blows out his knee, and is out for a month. He's currently working for WLW. - Bart Biggz, DAVE midcarder, joins CZCW on a verbal deal. - CGC's Lee Rivera, who has been lost since his partner Shane Nelson left, starts working for NYCW too. - The Tag Team Specialists get the TCW tag belts back from The Darkness Warriors. - Li Bingci of INSPIRE will be touring with BHOTWG. - Cameron Vessey is let go by NYCW. - Big Cat Brandon headlines DAVE's latest TV show by beating Guide and Scout at the same time. - One of NOTBPW's TV shows come to an end, voluntarily. They have two others active. - PGHW end their latest tour, as do INSPIRE and WLW. September 2008 Week 1 - Vin Tanner gets a DAVE contract extension. - Toshiharu Hyobanshi, who was expected to spend his entire career with GCG, will be on the next BHOTWG tour, which is a huge story in Japan. - Another CGC midcarder, Nate Johnson, is also heading to NYCW. - Gonzalez has left NYCW, so the head booker position is vacant. - The Great Hisato is also now out of 5SSW, so that's two vacancies to fill. - Eagle Kawasawa is a good addition to the WLW roster. - Koki Ishibashi is returning to WLW, albeit only on tour. - Hotstuff Marie and Bobby Thomas of CGC are apparently now enemies. - MPWF make the bone-headed decision to release Gino Montero, who has risen all the way to their main event. - Angry Gilmore is going to be touring with WLW. Incidentally, his earlier PGHW tour was a success, full of B graded matches, with the best being a B+ with Bryan Vessey. - In something of a shock, NYCW appoint Bart Biggz as their head booker. He's only 27. - Japanese legend Hito Ichihara is the new head booker of 5SSW. - Toshiharu Hyobanshi makes his long-awaited BHOTWG debut, and beats former GCG colleague Jimmy Cox in a B- affair. Week 2 - The BHOTWG tag titles, vacated after Shingen Miyazaki didn't come on tour again, are captured by The Rebellion in a match against another set of former champions, Samoan Machine and Everest. - Jack Bruce gets his first ever TCW title, beating Texas Pete for the International title. - Elsewhere, Nevada Nuclear beats Elmo Benson for the SWF Shooting Star title. Mainstream Hernandez debuts on the same show, losing to Marc DuBois. - Jay Chord has joined NYCW. He had a terrific tour of WLW earlier, putting on B grade matches despite being totally unknown. - Johnny Martin exends his deal with USPW. - Shooter Sean Deeley beats Sean McFly, which is both a shock and an A grade match. On the same show, Jana Marie Bowen beats Emma Bitch to win the Women's title. - Bruce The Giant is actually involved in a decent match for once, against Remo and it gets a B-. He then goes one better on SWF's next PPV, going to a B with Rich Money. - Fox Mask wins the RIPW title in a three way dance with Mikey James and Mario Heroic. California Love Machine debuts earlier in the same show, beating Aristocrat. - Scout will be touring with WLW. - Hitomaro Suzuki, former INSPIRE rookie, wins the BHOTWG Openweight title, his first ever title. - Rolling Johnny Stones is now a two-time 21CW champion, beating Joey Beauchamp. - Angel Takudome is brought into 5SSW. Week 3 - Fumihiro Ota beats The Natural for the TCW All Action title. - SWF surprisingly fall back to Cult size after an absolute dog of a show, which had the sole redeeming highlight of Jack Giedroyc winning the North American title off Lead Belly. The culprit seems clear - every time Bruce The Giant has headlined, the card has sunk to a C+ or worse, and that is killing their popularity, as they need to be hitting B or B+. The fact is that Bruce's popularity has taken a hit from his time in USPW, and he can't headline shows like he used to. - Of course, with the fall, SWF need to do some more firings. Brett Biggz, Grease Hogg, Mick Muscles, Honest Frank, Roger Dodger and Ash Campbell are the unlucky few. - USPW sign Valiant. - Ouch. UCR try to hit the UK, but only draw 300 fans. Their attempted expansion into the UK is actually going very well other than that slight anomoly, they've just tried it at a bad time due to the economy, and are paying dearly for it. - Elemental II beats Kiyaru to become an eight time Junior champion in BHOTWG. - Guide will be touring with INSPIRE. - Steve Frehley is still unemployed. He may be pricing himself out of the market, as only really TCW can afford him. Week 4 - Davis Wayne Newton is having a bit of a surge; after months of being unused by NOTBPW, he's having plenty of matches, and has managed to rise to Lower Midcard status. At one point I thought he was going to remain a jobber for them until he retired. That said, he's still yet to win a professional match, either with NOTBPW or his former employers USPW. Frankie Perez is suffering in his place though - he's now the company's jobber, and is having even less matches than DWN was. It wasn't long ago that Frankie was one of the major young talents in the US. - Groucho Bling wins the SWF Shooting Star title again, in another show that gets a sucky C grade with Bruce main eventing. - Japan now has D grade for economy and industry, its healthiest state since the game began. Nearly all the areas are in, or about to hit, a period of prosperity. That's good news after the dark days of 2007 when everywhere was slumping. - Shane Nelson beats Eddie Chandler to reclaim the NOTBPW Unlimited Action belt. - Leo Price wins the 21CW UK title from Rod "The God" Todd. - Cherry Bomb signs an extension for AAA. - Byron becomes a five time UCR champion by beating Captain Hero. There's only one day left of the month though, so whether they survive long enough for him to defend it is another question altogether. - Koki Ishibashi is doing very well in GCG, to the extent that he's now high enough up the card to start getting world title shots. - I may have spoken too soon; 38 year old Koki Ishibashi has just announced that he is to retire next month, one day after I wrote the previous sentence. On the plus side, his final month will see him on tour with the promotion he's most famous for working for, WLW, so maybe he and Koyama can win one last set of tag team titles together. - Alysian Scottsfield is also retiring. He's 51, and has been unemployed for a while now. - UCR are given one more month to survive. - Edward Cornell, Tommy's cousin, enters wrestling.

I dunno about anyone else but I think it's kinda cool to see the AI make so many boneheaded decisions (MPWF releasing Gino Montero, 5SSW releasing Shiori Jippensha, SWF letting Bruce the Giant anywhere near the last 2 matches of a show, UCR trying to expand while in financial peril, NOTBPW dropping its best worker to upper midcard, etc). Makes the game more accessible for a wider range of playstyles, I think.

Yay for SWF! Finally recovering from the screwjob, only to screw themselves :p They need a new headliner, or someone who can carry Bruce. I'm surprised that Farrah, being a good booker, hasn't noticed the trend between Bruce The Giant main events, and bad shows ¬_¬. Also, yay for C-Gonz finally getting hired.
- Chris Caulfield is the unsurprising choice to take over from Nemesis as head booker of DAVE. He's still out injured by the way, so he'll be booking with amnesia. It'll be like Memento....with wrestlers.
Well he wouldn't be the first booker in pro-wrestling history to book a show that makes you wonder if the event you watched the week prior ever actually took place. ;)
- OK, so a tiny variation from my initial plan, I am doing some editing after all. The reason is that nobody has taken over MHW due to a lack of owners in Mexico. As a result, I'm giving unemployed Mateo Iglesias the skills to take it over.
I'm at the end of July 2008 and only just spotted this... May I ask exactly what changes you made to Mr Iglesias in order that I might make the same..? EDIT: Or does anyone else know what stats are required to make the AI consider someone a potential owner?

October 2008 Week 1 - Owen Love beats Shane Nelson for the NOTBPW Unlimited Action title. - Frank De Pain wins the UCR European title for the second time, beating Super Falcon. - Magnum KOBE beats Toyokuni Hardcore for the WLW Street Fighting title. On the same show, Inao and Koyama drop the tag straps to Nariaki Hitomi and Ketsueki Karasu. - Yasunobu Masuno loses the BHOTWG title to Konnojo Horri, who becomes a three-time champion. - Youngster Tsurayuki Kamachi becomes the new WLW Tap Out champion, beating Fugunaga. - UK Dragon and Blood Raven will both be touring with PGHW next month. - WLW and GCG worker Toyokuni Hardcore is out for a year with a shattered elbow, which is sad as he was just beginning to establish himself. - Wael Hossam of INSPIRE, who had just been booked to go on tour with PGHW, is also a long term casualty of war, he's out for eleven months with a torn rotator cuff. - The vacant NYCW Empire title is won by American Machine, who beat the new booker Bart Biggz in the main event. On the undercard, Steve Flash finally loses the Tri-State championship, and the man to beat him is Jay Chord. That's Jay's first pro title, and I suspect the first of many. - Former INSPIRE champion Billy Russell takes his injured colleague Wael Hossam's place on the PGHW tour. Week 2 - Hitomi and Karasu don't hold the WLW tag titles long, they've already dropped them back to Fukusaburu Inao, who is this time teaming with The Tic. - Madman Boone, no stranger to injury, is out for a month with a knee injury. - Scout signs a contract extension with DAVE. - Matthew Gauge, current CZCW midcarder, is signed by MPWF too. - Enrique Merino is the SOTBPW champion again, beating El Demonico. - Tommy Cornell and Wrestling Machine #2 put on another A grade, ending a dry spell for great matches in the game world. - As an indication of how loaded with talent NOTBPW, Zeus Maxmillion has just announced that he wants to work in Japan. This is significant as his overness is A grade all across Candada, and yet he is only a midcarder. That means that the upper midcard and main eventers are even more popular. - Joss Thompson loses the CGC Canadian title to Joey Minnesota, for his second reign. It's a poor business decision for CGC though, as hours later Joey announces he has signed a written deal with TCW. - Eddie Peak and DAVE fail to come to terms, and so he is leaving the company. Week 3 - So much for the planned Ishibashi and Koyama tag reunion; they face each other on WLW's latest show. Elsewhere, Insane Machine beats Silver Shark, who is carrying a minor ankle injury, for the Show Stealer title. - Robert Oxford wins the TCW All Action title from Fumihiro Ota, the day after re-signing with the company. On the same show, Aaron Andrews beats Jack Bruce for the International title. - BHOTWG's Hitomaro Suzuki ruptures his spleen and is out for two months. - Kiminobu Kuroki drops the GCG Openweight title to Koki Ishibashi, perhaps as a retirement present. You'd think if GCG can give him a gift, WLW would, but he has lost most of his matches with them since returning. - GCG have risen to Cult size, a world away from a few months ago when they were on the brink of bankruptcy. Week 4 - Edd Stone and Dan Stone produce an A grade match for NOTBPW. With PGHW not on tour, there's been a lack of A matches recently. - Kinnojo Horri makes a defences of his Burning title against Toshiharu Hyobanshi. That's not a sentence that looked likely when the game began. - Greg Gauge follows his brother Matthew to MPWF. - Eddie Chandler gets another NOTBPW Unlimited Action title run, beating Owen Love. - Dark Angel is out for a month with a knee injury. - GCG sign SUKI. - A good day for Joe Sexy; he beats Jack Giedroyc for his fourth SWF North American title, and then announces that he has also signed for CGC. He'll be remaining with SWF, as he was under a verbal deal following his last set of contract negotiations. - Larry Wood joins GCG. - Shane Hannigans loses the MOSC Blood & Beer title to Bruiser. - Koki Ishibashi has his final ever match, and he loses the GCG Openweight title to their new signing Larry Wood. It's a poor show otherwise, and they are now really struggling with match quality without Pistol Pete or Hyobanshi. Gakusha and Kuroki are not miracle workers. - The Specialists become six time CGC champions, winning the vacant tag team straps; Joey Minnesota had been one half of the previous champions with Ryan Powell. Joey's other title, the CGC Canadian title, is won by Joss Thompson. - Cornell and RDJ get another A for TCW. - GCG end their tour. - Koki Ishibashi is now retired. He ended up with two WLW Universal title reigns to his name, four WLW tag reigns, and one reign each with the WLW Tap Out title and the GCG openweight title. - NOTBPW legend Alysian Scottsfield is also now retired. - Punisher Paul Hughes enters wrestling. - UCR finally go out of business. Towards the end they were very poor, with only really Byron providing any sort of star quality, so I can't say I'm too sad to see them go. Europe is now totally devoid of promotions, and with only 21CW and MOSC left in the UK, it's getting mighty quiet around that part of the world. November 2008 Week 1 - Team Dynasty 2000 win the Elite Tag Team series, beating Raymond Diaz and Joshua Taylor in the final. That's the fifth time that Mushashibo and Inukai have won the tournament. - Inao and The Tic lose the WLW Tag titles to UK Dragon and Haru Kurofuji. - Dark Eagle is going back to GCG, this time under a verbal contract. Arjen Van Den Leyne will be joining him on the roster. - GCG, INSPIRE and 5SSW all have new TV shows coming up. - Joining Dark Eagle in GCG will be Black Eagle (perhap a new tag team?), who will be on tour with them. Fellow DAVE star Big Cat Brandon will also be coming with him. - Incidentally, staying in Japan, Koki Ishibashi is now working for WLW as a manager, under a verbal deal. - Guide beats Sammy Bach for the DAVE Brass Knuckles title, his second. - You knew it would happen! Rip Chord's MAW sign his son, Jay Chord, to a contract. - The MHW booker spot is open, as Marcos Flores is moving on. Week 2 - NOTBPW rise to Global size, making them the second biggest promotion in the world behind TCW. Expect a raft of new signings. - A bit of a shocker for SWF; they were in the middle of negotiating with main announcer Peter Michaels, and TCW swoop in out of nowhere and steal him. That's both of SWF's main starting announcers who are in TCW now, as Duane Fry went during their first fall. - Troy Tornado beats Wrestling Machine #1 to win the TCW world title for a second time. - Stephanie Hazel beats Jana Marie Bowen to claim the NOTBPW Women's title. - A surprise is revealed by TCW; Wolf Hawkins, protege of Cornell, is being allowed to leave. - Bobby Thomas becomes the latest CGC man to be taken by NOTBPW. - NOTBPW put on two A grade matches on their latest PPV, although not back-to-back. One is Owen Love beating Sean McFly (who is dropping further and further down the rankings despite his great matches) and the other sees Johnny Bloodstone beating Dan Stone. To complete the "rookies beating veterans" vibe, Duane Stone wins the Canadian title off Jeremy Stone in the main event. That's his first title run. - Staying with NOTBPW, they sign John Maverick from CGC, perhaps to re-form his team with Eddie Chandler. The other third of Elite, Dan DaLay, is still unemployed. - Darryl Devine becomes the new DAVE champion, beating Big Cat Brandon and Scout in a three way dance. He's also a SWF competitor remember. - Lee Rivera is heading to NOTBPW too, as they continue to assemble the greatest Canadian roster ever. - Steve Grayson, former NYCW champ, is coming to MAW. Week 3 - The Awesome Kiyaru begins his fifth Junior title reign in BHOTWG, beating Elemental II. - Sam Keith beats Joe Sexy for the SWF North American title, which is surprisingly his first run with that belt. - Fumihiro Ota beats Robert Oxford for the TCW All Action title. - CZCW put on one of their best shows ever, which is actually better rated overall than a lot of SWF's recent efforts. Fittingly then, it's headlined by SWF cast-off Valiant. - Brendan Idol has started dating Sara Silver, his RIPW colleague. - Brett Biggz joins DAVE, and yes, they do re-form The Biggz Boyz! - American valet Charlene apparently gets into trouble with the police for speeding. It certainly wasn't to get to a show, she's yet to actually work a show since the game began. Week 4 - 4C rise to Regional. Hey, they'll be ahead of CGC soon! - UK Dragon is out for a year with a shoulder injury. The WLW tag titles get vacated as a result. - Koyama and Inao, AKA Kiss This, win their third WLW tag team titles. That's seven separate reigns for Koyama. - Youth Energy, formerly of CGC, reform under the NOTBPW banner and lose their debut bout together. Shane Nelson is now teaming with both Lee Rivera and Sean McFly. Greedy. - Texas Pete gets the International title again. Why Tommy, why? - Bruce The Ratings Killer...er, The Giant, wins his third SWF world title from Skull DeBones. The last time he held it, the year was 1995. - Elmo Benson joins 4C on a verbal deal. He's still with SWF for reference. - William Hayes and Masayuki Shiga pick up the vacant PGHW International tag team titles. - BHOTWG end their latest tour, as do INSPIRE and WLW. - Lisa Bowen, Runaway Train's daughter, enters wrestling. He's unemployed by the way, so plenty of time for father daughter bonding. - CGC, now that they've had most of their talent stolen, finally manage to get a B- show, the first time since the game began they've gone above a C+. Unsurprisingly, this is because they did the entire show around the DeColt boys, with the only exception being a Gilbert Brothers tag team victory for the vacant tag titles. - Looks like TCW are shuffling the pack; as well as Wolf leaving, Alex Braun and Charlie Thatcher have not been offered contract extensions either. Could Braun be heading back to DAVE? - Zimmy Bumfhole's contract is up for extension. Hopefully he won't decide to commit the same career suicide that his brother did. Randy was last spotted sinking without trace in the NOTBPW midcard. December 2008 Week 1 - Bad news for young TCW superstar Aaron Andrews; a spinal injury has put him out for over a year, just as he was about to hit the main event. It's not been a good month for the former Lady Killers, Andrews and Hawkins. - Jay Chord debuts right into the MAW main event, teaming with The Mean Machine in a losing effort against the tag team champs, the A* Alliance. - BLZ Bubb is out for four months with a head injury. What's going on in TCW these days, everyone seems to be getting hurt. - Kiko Sakakibara and DEVIL Karube win the vacant 5SSW tag team titles. They'll be called Team Slaughter. - SOTBPW make it to National size, a first for a Mexican promotion in my experience. They should be able to sign up the mass of wrestlers who said they were too big for the lucha promotions before now. - Zimmy Bumfhole turns down SWF's offer, making him a very hot free agent. - Hell Monkey joins INSPIRE on a verbal deal. He gets around, doesn't he? - The Biggz Boyz make their DAVE debut as a team, losing to JD Morgan and Black Eagle in the main event. Later that night, Bart signs a contract extension. - Robbie Retro signs for CGC on a verbal deal. SWF seem to be sharing half their roster these days. - Hyosuke Kokan, who only returned to action for BHOTWG from a long term injury three months ago, is not offered a new contract and so will be unemployed by 2009. Week 2 - SOTBPW expected spree begins; Champagne Lover, El Critico and Nicolas Lopez all return to lucha prime time. Champagne used to be in the promotion, EC and NL are both ex-OLLIE men. - TCW sign Eddie Peak, who was bound to attract their attention. - Magnifico is the latest SOTBPW signing. - Groucho Bling drops the SWF Shooting Star title to Nevada Nuclear. How long until Bling and Benson are off to their original home of NOTBPW? - Gino Montero is signed by SOTBPW, in a great move. - Joe Sexy joins 4C on a verbal. Who would have thought 4C would have ended up with Sexy and Benson on their roster? - Groucho gets his Shooting Star title back from Nuclear Nevada. - PGHW put on another A grade show, the second since the game began. It was headlined by an A* match between Mushashibo and Tatsuko, and had Inukai and Bryan Vessey going to an A draw in the semi final position. Vessey, incidentally, has had about 6 A grade matches in the past 6 weeks, and may be a late contender for wrestler of the year. - Joss Thompson loses the CGC Canadian title to Nomad. CGC are a mess right now. - Johnny Bloodstone says he'd like to go to Japan. Bloodstone vs Mushashibo (drool). - Masaru Ugaki drops the PGHW International title to Ryoma Muruyama. - Since the death of UCR, European Independent shows have started happening, and they're not bad considering how much talent is available. - The Biggz Boyz have another DAVE match together, this time beating Tank Bradley and Vin Tanner. - CGC get another B-. Apparently realising that they are in the running for the most boring promotion of the past two years has spurred them on. Now they just need to sign some good workers, as their roster is pretty awful thanks to NOTBPW. Week 3 - Mushashibo gets his third A (or A*) in three weeks; apparently he wants to make sure Vessey doesn't rob him of his Wrestler Of The Year award. - Whippy The Clown beats Eddie Chandler for the NOTBPW Unlimited Action title. - Greg Gauge is off to tour with WLW. - TCW sign Zimmy Bumfhole. Randy should probably consult with him for any future career advice. - Saeko Hiroyuki beats Kit Hatoyama for the 5SSW All Asian title. - Matthew Gauge will be on the next INSPIRE tour. - Sayeed Ali joins NYCW. - CGC get a C- for their latest big event. It's clear what their issues are; they can put on really good TV shows because they can load them with the DeColt boys, but anything more than three matches and the lack of quality on the rest of their roster is brutally exposed. Their latest show had twelve matches on it, and even Joe Sexy debuting couldn't save it. - Chalk up another A for Mushashibo. Think I'm exaggerating how good he has been this year? He's had 56 matches so far, is *averaging* an A grade, and has 31 A grades, and 3 A* matches. Week 4 - Alexander Robinson breaks his nose in an incident with a crocodile. - Mito Miwa beats Yoshimi Mushashibo to claim the PGHW Glory Crown for a second time. - Guide and JD Morgan beat the Biggz Boyz to keep their tag titles on DAVE's final PPV of the year. - Toshiharu Hyobanshi announces that he is now a freelancer. Still no return to GCG yet though. - In TCW, Genghis Rahn beats Texas Pete for his third International title. Joey Minnesota also beats Ota for the All Action title. - Guide will be touring with WLW next year. - Frederique Antonio Garcia is main eventing some SWF shows now, fighting Rich Money. That's an odd couple. - Akima Brave will be touring with INSPIRE next year. - One more A for Yoshimi before the year is over, 24 hours before the New Year begins. - Giant Brody enters wrestling. - On the very last day of the year, Zimmy's contract with TCW begins. - Alex Decolt becomes a five-time CGC champion, beating his brother Ricky. - Mystic Dragon suffered an overdose, and was clinically dead for a while. Although he has survived, the damage is severe, and he is reduced to stats in the E grade level. He's only 22, but it seems his career is as good as over. Top 25 Wrestlers Of 2008 1. It seems like Sean McFly just can't get a break this time around the cornellverse. In my Dynasty game he is divorced from Victoria, left NOTPBW so he can job to the TCW main eventers, including Liberty and BLZ Bubb, and despite being in the match of the year for a 2nd straight year and having same quality of matches, dropped from 5th in 2007 to not even in the top 100 in 2008.
12. PRIDE Koiso
Yeah! It's about time he thought about leaving PGHW, surely? You could be main eventing by now, Yasu!
Young Wrestler Of The Year 2008 - Wolf Hawkins
It's a testament to how damn good he is, that he's still considered young :p By the time he's in his prime, his stats will be sick. Unless he gets injured a lot or joins NYCW.
I've noticed that Adam keeps mentioning that workers are stating that they want to work in other countries but after playing over a year's worth of game time I've yet to see this. Where exactly does this appear?
My guess would be the Internet. That's where most stuff like this appears.
My guess would be the Internet. That's where most stuff like this appears.
Yes, that's where it appears. Interesting that only one American (meaning company he works for) wrestler is in the top 20. No one else even cracked it.
