The headline is clear and undisputedly true, Danny Davis confirmed to the OVW staff that a few days before Wrestlemania he officially signed over the papers for the full buyout of Ohio Valley Wrestling to Vince McMahon and the WWE. As of today OVW is officially the property of WWE, however Danny Davis did declare that Vince McMahon confirmed to him that Ohio Valley Wrestling will remain alive and a WWE development promotion. It seems that WWE's plans for OVW are as follows; OVW will be the 4th run down on the ladder on WWE's inside system of talent placing. RAW brand is the top of the ladder, as it had been known for some time, with Smackdown and then ECW making up the other TV based brands. OVW will be the official 4th run as said, with a plan of changing current set up to run with a 1hr website only show, which is believed will be accessed more by fans than TV show could. DSW will of course be the starting out promotion within the system with fully intergrated training school set up. This in WWE's eyes will improve the talent that eventually gets on TV and the website only show of OVW is an idea that many believe will benefit wrestlers more so than TV due to avaibility. These are both thought to be used in OVW for a considerable amount of time unless creative requests them for a certain role/storyline/gimmick. With the roster movement between development and main brands people in WWE believe OVW needs to bring back a few hard working regular wrestlers to help the progression of those coming up from DSW and eventually going up to a main brand. Its believed Danny Davis suggested these two to be re-signed to Vince himself when he sold OVW to WWE as of their professional attitude and in ring work rate, surprising as it may be but it seems Vince actually took on board the advice, or maybe it was due to TNA offering them both contracts in past couple of weeks. [color=purple]<>[/color] With the numerous rumors following the developmental shake up recently its now thought WWE's Heat web show will be cancelled once they wrap up deals with the remaining world wide broadcasters of the show. With OVW debuting its new web show Excess in under two weeks, its thought that rather than keep using under used wrestlers from RAW on heat they will now being moving too and from OVW more often. The link of wrestlers wrestling future TV wrestlers will come in handy once brought up to a main brand, so we could well see whoever that isn't used on TV very often turning up in OVW instead of simply being on Heat if and when this situation occurs. [color=purple]<>[/color] To add to the increasing list of suprise releases in TNA, you can now add to that the name of Matt Bentley, or Maverick Matt as he has recently been going by. Many backstage aren't suprised by this as Bentley hasn't been keeping as in shape ever since his X div days and also despite liked by TNA officials they feel his look isn't fitting in with the Raven stable gimmick and he is too far gone to repackage once again. Early indications are that WWE might be interested in Bentley, who is related to HBK Shawn Michaels, but they prefered his Michael Shane look and feel to that of his more recent work, so its all about how much Bentley wants the job really to wheather he gets signed. Following this huge news, Johnny Ace also faxed another statement over to us only moments after we recieved the intial news, that being an update on wrestlers that will be joining OVW. Ace was pleased to announce for us that Brent Albright, Seth Skyfire and Chris Cage were all coming back to the promotion, whilst also confirming that Sonny Siaki will be arriving in OVW shortly. Johnny Ace was eager for us to announce this news as soon as could be done due to the pure talent he believes that Steel has, the new OVW Troubleshooter even went on to say that this new arrival could very well prove to be the Ace in the pack. In other roster developments Johnny Ace has informed us that the following wrestlers will be leaving the OVW roster; Jake Hager, Pat Buck, T.J. Dalton, and Wyatt Young. OVW is WWE's actual developmental territory, has been for several years I believe.[/QUOTE] Nope, OVW is actually an independant promotion ran by owner Danny Davis, in 2001 they struck up links with WWE via Jim Cornette (who still holds some sort of share in promotion) to become part of the WWE's developmental program, to which now its become the official primary training ground for WWE, but basically no at this moment in time Danny Davis owns and runs OVW. Its a case of something benefiting both sides, WWE have a place for new wrestlers to learn the ropes and experience actual wrestling with slight TV explosure, whilst OVW gets more attention than other small indy promotion as they have the use of some of WWE's wrestlers and don't have to pay the cost for the use of them either. I'd call it an extremely strong link between promotions, but WWE doesn't own it, which is often thought. :)

At this point in time its expected all of them will be assigned to OVW upon arrival, as all are seen as capable and have decent enough in ring experiences behind them. [color=purple]<>[/color] According to a backstage source there will be a Russian revolution of sorts on RAW in the coming weeks, we have be specially treated to Vladimir Kozlov lately in ringside interviews and he is expected to debut soon. Not long after debuting he will be joined by a tag team; consisting of Boris Alexiev and Mr. Strongko, who'll be under going a name change no doubt. Alexiev & Strongko have been listed on the RAW house show cards in order to get used to working on the big stage, Kozlov is in line for a Lesnar sized push if rumors are correct with Vince being extremely high on him, this could hinder Rodimer who had been looked at for moon sized push. [color=purple]<>[/color] It was announced on ovwrestling.com that Sonny Siaki would be arriving in OVW soon, well it seems that Harry Smith and TJ Wilson will both also be moving in that direction, with a selection of other wrestlers heading the other way to DSW. With OVW being looked as a Heat replacement they want to reduce the number of not ready guys from OVW and send them down to DSW and the same theory with the better talent in DSW. My next WNE report should answer a couple of mssing men questions from current roster. I'll also post a title page, as well as divas, tag teams and staff bit, before debut show. Will probably do an updated rosters page every couple of in month game time, just to keep everyone up to date like on roster situation, as changes fairly often in OVW with call ups to main brands etc.... Of course I've taken some of the girls down at DSW onto the roster as I feel that basically they are ready for a better level, so not all have debuted yet, but they will over time, as well as one other that I'll use, not to mention the occasional WWE diva visit. I'll be honest I was going to scrap the women's div but I'll now i've moved a few about I'll see how it goes, can't hurt. I'll be posting a title page, tag teams and staff bit over the next couple of days, just to make sure everything is nicely set for debut of Excess. Either way huge money troubles, for now, can be put to bed as everything is aimed towards growing rather than cutting back. So for now they are expected to be on the road for at least six months but many believe that this is another gimmick that can only go so far and they could be back down in OVW sooner rather than later. [color=purple]<>[/color] It appears that Dean Hill's OVW future could be on the line as Vince McMahon is said to want a younger face to lead the announcing for OVW. He hasn't even heard how good or bad Hill is, just based from looks and age alone Vince see's this as a position in need of changing, also as Hill isn't likely to be called up to RAW, SD or ECW. Hill could still remain in WWE's system with a move down to DSW most likely. Its thought Vince wants Todd Grisham to take up the role, one cause of his younger feel and secondly to keep learning/training for a possible main brand lead announcer role in future.
