rjhabeeb Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 I always see people on here talking about having merged titles......can you do this??? how???? if not what is the point of buying out other promotions and taking there titles???
praguepride Posted March 20, 2007 Posted March 20, 2007 You retire their title and your title and create a new "merged" title.

Gigas Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007 not really. If your main event title was less than 80%, then yes. You can always reset your main event title to 80% though, and midcard titles to 70%.
Derek B Posted March 21, 2007 Posted March 21, 2007
I always see people on here talking about having merged titles......can you do this??? how???? if not what is the point of buying out other promotions and taking there titles???
Merging titles is done rather easily by simply having two titles on the line during a match. If there is a winner (without using the "cheap finish" note) then they will then be champion for both titles. After that, you can do a number of things. 1. Retire one belt and rename the other one the "undisputed" "unified" "merged" belt. 2. Defend them both regularly by continuing to select both titles. 3. Do nothing, they're just two belts held by one person. Also, buying out other promotions has a number of benefits. Obviously you can get their title belts, but you also get a small prestige boost for your promotion (as I happily discovered in my multiplayer game) and you've then got rid of the competition. Obviously this means that there are likely to be more workers available to you, perhaps some that you couldn't get before so that's always nice. All in all, it's kinda nice. Although I do wish I could steal the workers they have under contract. Seems stupid to get title belts without getting the champions to go with them. Or perhaps that only works when workers are under written deals. I wouldn't know, I've only bought out small companies. Derek B
