Also blame that bastard Keef Moon for making me want to write a WCW Diary as good as his WWF Diary! So I am going to be implementing a week on week off system... This week (Starting Wednesday and ending Wednesday) is WCW Week and next week will be TXW Week... This is not a long drawn out Backstory like I wish I could do. I cannot modify history to help WCW. The only thing I can do is make stuff up that I think would be good for WCW... Even the TV Title could go to Glacier! In a special Tag Team Title Match the NWO goes for the Tag Team Titles again as there team of Scott Norton and Buff Bagwell (Viscious and Delicious as they have named themselves) take on Scott and Rick Steiner! This match could definitally be a plus for the NWO as they have could add another title into there orginazation! The Living Legend Larry Zybysko has a special challenge for the Starrcade Pay Per View concerning Eric Bischoff! tristram Posted March 22, 2007 Share Posted March 22, 2007 Good luck with this one mate, it's a well known fact that I'm a WCW mark through and through and love all WCW diaries on these boards. You've picked a pivotal moment in the ultimate history of WCW, right then, at that moment, WCW was [B]smoking hot[/B], if you can turn over the younger stars into main eventers you should be well set. Imagine how good WCW would have been from that point if, the main event at Starrcade was properly booked and Sting went over clean, Bret Hart was used properly and they actually used the massive pop's he was getting following the Montreal Screwjob to his advantage, and the likes of the eventual Radicals, and Chris Jericho and Raven had have risen to the top in the next year or so as their talent demanded they should have. One other thing I love from this period is the international stars who worked for WCW, Masahiro Chono, the Great Muta, Tenzan, Magnum Tokyo, Juventud, Rey Mysterio Jr, even some of the less well known ones like Ciclope, Super Calo, El Dandy, The Villainos, Hector Garza, Silver King and the like... Really appreciate that. Obviously I can't be too nice as you're the mortal enemy for being WCW '97 when I'm WWF '97! I find it funny that your Nitro event was held in the same arena as my Wrestlemania! I was a huge WCW fan and was considering doing this exact diary. Even though your appear to have killed a rivalry I liked around that time (Raven/Benoit) you've made a good start and using the correct people. I hope you make the transition gradual so it means when guys like Eddie and Benoit do get over it will mean more. I also really hope Sting wins properly at Starrcade unlike the ridiculous booking of Starrcade '97 in real life. Man, it seems like I'm giving you a list of demands! So far on the Starrcade card is: WCW Heavyweight Title Match: Sting vs. Hollywood Hogan A fued that has been building up for over a year now! This will be there first meeting in the ring since a while ago! This match could very well be the most vital match in WCW History! Representatives Match for Control of WCW: Larry Zybysko vs. Erich Bischoff If Larry wins Eric must give WCW back to well WCW if Larry loses though he will be forced to serve Eric Bischoff to do whatever... You know both men will choose huge representatives to battle this war for them! Speaking of the Flock! Perry Saturn has made his decision on the Starrcade match and has decided that Chris Beniot has to earn his TV Title shot! Saturn also says he will be taking on a flock member as it will be Chris Beniot vs. Billy Kidman! In a Number One Contenders Match for the US Title Diamond Dallas Page takes on Ultimo Dragon! DDP has claimed he is the peoples champion but based on Ultimos perfomance from last show he is no pushover! To save-face from last weeks less than ten minute loss to Dean Malenko Eddy Guerrero has made a challenge to any cruiserweight on the roster to wrestle him in non-title action... Will Dean Malenko have anything to say about this!? Eric Bischoff has announced that his new team has had contractual visas and cannot yet debut... Each week we at the Wrestling Buzz choose our Match of The Week out of all the promotions in the world and tell you our thoughts on it... After looking over each and every promotions TV Show and results of the past few weeks we have awarded WCW the match of the week which featured Ultimo Dragon and Curt Henning... Dragon and Henning have never met in the ring before and Dragon is someone who a lot of fans did not expect to put on a wrestling clinic but he did. After about 28 minutes of pure wrestling excitement the fans were exhausted but knew that they had just witnessed something spectacular. The Steiners came out of the crowd which the fans ate up! Rick and Scott came in from the crowd and instantly jumped the duo as the fans chanted in with glee! A very good technically solid match-up between two teams that hopefully can meet again down the line. Nagata and Rick Steiner got into a strike battle that many fans will someday call Legendary! In the move of the night that Steiners did a Double Team Frankensteiner when Rick held Nagata on his shoulders and Scott jumped off Regal who was on all fours and connected with the Frankensteiner on Nagata! This of course finished off the new team of International Currency... Somewhat Familar Music hits and Booker T walks out to a decent pop but nobody is really sure how well he does in singles competition.... Booker and Eddy start things off with your usual cruiserweight moves until Eddy goes for a Hurricanrana that Booker reversed into a Powerbomb followed by a Knee Drop across his face. Booker then nails a leg drop followed by a pin for only a two count... Booker dominated some more until... Eddy raked Booker in the eye and hits a dropkick! As Booker is starting to get up Eddy runs towards the ropes and springboards off hitting a Wheel Kick... Eddy locks in a Sleeper-Hold and Booker is down... Booker fights up but Eddy wrestles smarter than Booker and slams him down a Sleeper Slam! Booker and Eddy continue there in-ring battle until Eddy nails a Springboard Hurricanrana and looks to be going for the Frog Splash! Dean Malenko runs into the ring and tells the referee that Booker T has Brass Knuckles in his trunks... Dean looks like he is about to leave as the fans wonder why he just ratted out Booker T for his arch-nemesis but Malenko hits the ropes causing Eddy to crotch himself... Dean then grabs Eddy and nails him with a Superkick and then leaves... The referee discovers nothing is in the trunks of Booker but he cannot call for a DQ since he did not see anything. Eddy then starts to get up with Booker T hovering over him... Booker T grabs him and slams him down with a move the WCW Announcers have labeled the "Book End"... Ultimo Dragon comes out and the fans are popping for him pretty good... Dragon and DDP start things off with a handshake like wrestling should be started off with... They lock up and DDP overpowers Dragon and showboats a little bit before they lock up again... Ultimo gets the advantage with a rolling Armbar that the fans ooowed and aaawed for... DDP reverses and both men are soon on there feet again! DDP and Ultimo then go into a series of reversals that the fans love... DDP goes for a clothesline... Ultimo ducks... Ultimo goes for a spinning kick... DDP jumps up... Ultimo attempts a kick on DDP... DDP catches the Kick... Ultimo goes for an enziguri... DDP ducks... Ultimo lands on his feet... DDP spins Ultimo around and goes for a clothesline... Ultimo ducks and attempts a Neckbreaker... DDP reverses out of it and hits a DDT!!! DDP and Ultimo are now both down after the exhaustion factor kicks in and both men try to make it to there feet first.... Ultimo rises and nails DDP with a Superkick for a good two count fall... After more wrestling and making each other look like gold Ultimo goes for his famous Asia DDT that he cannot hit for some reason... He says that he is proud of what his old buddy the Heartbreak Kid did to him and he could not have had it any other way... Hart's music hits to the loudest pop of the night as he makes his way to the ring... Before any technical wrestling could even think about being started Hart storms the ring and clotheslines Bagwell and Norton out of it and immidiately attacks Scott Hall... No love loss here folks... Hall and Hart then begin to brawl until Hall hits his Fallaway Slam out of nowhere shutting down Hart's offense early... Hall mainly dominates the match with his size and uses moves to keep Hart down like stomps to the legs and working over his head... Hart keeps trying to pull of moves but either the NWO cuts him off by distracting the ref or Hall cuts him down with something... Hall has Hart in a headlock late in the match and Hart reverses it into the Russian Legsweep! Hart goes to the second rope and hits the Elbow Drop he has made famous... Hart waits for Hall to get up and nails a flying forearm that Tito Santana would envy... Hart then locks in the Sharpshooter and waits for Hall to tap... Hall trys to make it to the ropes but Hart locks it in and it looks like Hall will tap out! Hart looks pleased but suddenly the referee calls for the bell for no reason! Hart looks at the ref saying "NOT THIS **** AGAIN" but the ref says "Twenty Minutes Brother"... The announcer grabs the mic and says "The Twenty Minute Time Limit has expired therefore making this match a draw!"... He demands that Hart be released since that is his representative... Thats right on Starrcade Bret Hart vs. Scott Hall for the FATE OF WCW!!! After a huge Nitro last week some things have been set up for an already huge show this week! Live in the Main Event will be a special one on one WCW World Heavyweight Title Match pitting WCW Champion Hollywood Hulk Hogan going on one on against Lex Luger!!! Luger and Hogan have had some absolutely awesome clashes and this will be no exception... Will Sting make his presence known though? The rest of the night will be huge as well as WCW seems to really have the Tag Team Side of its Product heating up as we have not one, not two but THREE huge Tag Team matches... Match one pits Cruiserweight Champion Eddy Guerrero and Das Wunderkind Alex Wright against the Number One Contender Dean Malenko and Booker T... After Booker got a huge win against Cruiserweight Champion Eddy last week there is one thing for sure this week... REVENGE!!! Also quite enjoying seeing the "other company" being run in the same time period as my own diary, if you were running the WCW on my game I'm sure the Monday Night Wars would be as alive as ever. I don't know if you've seen/are using anything like this, but here is a list of past WCW PPV cards. Also I have realized how hard it is to book such a good roster and not leave anyone off with only one Two Hour TV Show... God I cannot wait for WCW Thunder to arrive in my game lol... Starrcade should start quite the hot-streak for everyone in WCW... I know its a hard buildup with only one TV Show but if you can do it so can I... my roster may be slightly better though :P I recently learned the mistake (As you will soon see) of not running a show in the UK unless you have a bunch of UK talent because Hogan vs. Luger got a Bish rating which I would normally expect a match of that magnitude to have an A+ Rating because of who is in it... A few fans in the crowd recognize Candido from his WWF Run as one of the Bodydonnas... They tore into him! Goldberg and Jericho made seperate but equal (Not a racist joke like my WWE Diary swear to God!) entrances and the fans popped hugely for them! Goldberg and the undersized Christian started things off with a tie up and Goldberg man-handles Christian throwing him across the ring! Christian gets up and gets into the face of Goldberg and they tie up again... Christian hits Goldberg with an Armdrag and jumps up on the Top Rope taunting the fans... Goldberg is waiting for him and hits him with a huge kick! Goldberg then waits for him to get up and nails him with a Powerslam... Christian is reaching for Candido and Goldberg tags in Jericho! Candido and Jericho come in and Jericho instantly nails an Enziguri on Candido... Candido sells it perfectly only like Candido can... Jericho waits for Candido to get up and Jericho goes for a Dropkick!!! Candido dodges it and hits Jericho with a Clothesline! Candido then locks in a Sleeper on Jericho and the crowd gets behind Jericho... Jericho makes it up and hits Candido with a Backsuplex and goes for the pin... Candido kicks out... Jericho brings Candido up and gets hit with a Brainbuster by Candido for his troubles... Christian is tagged in... Christian charges at Jericho but Jericho nails his Enziguri again and tags in a HOT GOLDBERG!!! Scott demands to know who his opponent is and who they are facing at Starrcade... Bischoff comes out and says they probably don't recognize these two guys but they are easily the best Tag Team in the United States... The Dudley Boys... Bubba Ray and D-Von Dudley!!! Bubba Ray is the man who has to face Scott and they start things off by just purely brawling!!! Bubba and Scott have a good chemistry to them so it added to the match... They mainly focused on power moves and not really doing anything special but all the moves were stiff and the fans loved it... The finish came when Steiner hit a Lariat and it looked like that match was over... D-Von Dudley came into the ring though and helped out Bubba Ray by nailing Scott with a chair in the head... Ref calls for DQ as this match has fallen apart!!! Rick attempts to come in but D-Von nails him too... Bubba yells to D-Von an all to familar line of "D-Von... GET THE TABLES!!!"... D-Von grabs a Table and they grab Scott and nail him with a Flapjack/Cutter Double Team they call the 3D according to Bischoff. However as soon as DDP's music hits and Ultimo and DDP came out the crowd went ****ing insane! DDP and Henning started off the match and things were quick with strikes, reversals and slams everywhere. DDP hit a Piledriver and Henning quickly got the Hot Tag into Nash after this... Nash did not touch DDP and told DDP to tag into Ultimo Dragon! Dragon and Nash get into the ring and Nash went for his running big boot which Dragon ducked and hit Nash with a Spinning Wheel Kick to the back of the head! Nash got up pissed off and went for a Chokeslam... Ultimo reversed it into a kick to the face!!! Nash looks even more pissed and goes for a Powerbomb!!! Ultimo reverses it into the Hurricanrana for a believable two count as the fans look on in amazement of Ultimo's ability! Nash and Ultimo then begin to fight again and Nash hits the Big Boot out of nowhere to a chorus of boos! Nash tags into Henning! Henning and Nash then work over Ultimo and nail him with a Hart Attack Double Team Move!!! Ultimo got beat down for a while until he hit Nash and Henning with a Double Clothesline and tagged in DDP!!! DDP came in like a house of fire and did a lot of good until Nash cut him off quickly with a Chokeslam... They work over DDP until DDP gets the tag back into Ultimo!!! They start to attack Ultimo but Ultimo cuts them off with a Double Dropkick on both men!!! DDP charges the ring but gets hit with the Fishermans Suplex and Nash goes to the Top Rope to attempt some move!!!! Ultimo Dragon charges at Nash who is on the Top Rope and looks to be going for the Hurricanrana... Henning moves DDP out of the way and Nash nails a Jumping Sitout Powerbomb off the Top Rope on Ultimo!!! Match is over Nash pins Ultimo. After the match Nash gets on the microphone and tells the fans that Eric Bischoff told him before he came out for this match that him and Ultimo have a match one on one on Nitro next week!!!! The fans look on shocked as Ultimo cannot even get up from the match yet!!! They then bash Great Britian and Beniots music hits.. Benoit walks out alone with a mic and says Davey Boy cannot make it to the ring with him tonight... The fans look on in shock and look really pissed off about this.. He says instead of making it to the ring with him tonight he is already beside the ring! Saturn and Raven look for him in the crowd but cannot find him... Davey Boy is shown crawling out from under the ring and he runs in and nails them with a Double Clothesline to jump-start the match! Davey and Benoit look great as a tag team (Kind of British Bulldogsish to tell you the truth)... Basic match with all of Saturn and Raven's key moves and the other teams moves... Match finish is the thing to be talked about because Bulldog had Raven up on his shoulders getting ready to Powerslam him but Raven pushed him into the Corner and Davey hit it and tripped over Raven allowing Raven to roll him up with his feet on the ropes to end the match! After the match Davey Boy and Benoit tried to get revenge on the Flock but Kidman and Hammer ran down and attacked Benoit and Davey... Kidman set up a chair and Saturn nailed the Death Valley Driver onto it on Benoit and Raven hit the Raven Effect on Davey Boy as the fans booed them out of the ring having screwed over there hero! Things started off hot and heavy with Malenko nailing Alex Wright with a series of uppercuts followed by a series of Snap Suplexes into different submission moves... Pretty much making Alex his bitch Then Guerrero and Booker T got into the ring and all hell broke loose as they did a bunch of cool cruiserweight stuff making Booker T look even more like a legit threat to other divisions than he already is!!! Badass! Wright and Guerrero ended up getting the Big V in this match though when Alex hit a Firemans Carry into Stunner on Malenko followed by Guerrero coming off the top with the Frog Splash! Regal's answer was Chris Jericho who came out to a very loud pop based on his performance earlier! I like how you're progressing it by going further than just plug the nWo *cough*unlike Bischoff*cough* I guess though this highlights why I haven't transferred over to TEW07. I know there's a lot more strategy involved these days, but some of the segments you booked should have and would have rated infinitely better than they were in TEW. That's why I've not ventured out of USA at all on mine, I'm gonna wait until my roster is as popular in the rest of the world as it is in the US. Execept maybe one or two non-ppv UK events, which I would love to do being a Brit myself, and I honestly think we have amazing fans over here. I doubt Christian Cage would be NWA Champion now if it weren't for the UK fans, as we popped hgely for him while he was still with the E and just started up the "Captain Charisma" thing. Still, it was a good show. I get the feeling though that this will be deceptively hard, as the balance on overness, age and talent is hugely misguided in WCW, and will take a while to fix. I mean they get C to B ratings but still its hard to book an A+ Show (My popularity in a lot of regions is A+ for some reason) and expect me to not use a lot of the midcard guys... I think the best thing to do would be to go into the editor and lower down the popularity in some regions so building it up would be a lot easier... Who would ever want to edit popularity lower but me of course lol... Preview up soon... This Nitro should be the best one I have had heading into Starrcade... Hammer then made his entrance but before he could get into the ring Benoit jumped him... Benoit jumps start the match with a Double Axe Handle off the top rope sending Hammer to the floor who was just trying to get into the ring... Hammer gets up but gets met with a Baseball Slide by Benoit that has the fans popping! Benoit of course is not the usual suspect to outpower a guy of Hammer's size... but he did... Things went back and forth for a while but Benoit wrestled smarter than Hammer which paid off... Hammer went for a Leaping clothesline that Benoit ducked and Benoit hit the Dragon Suplex at the 5:21 Second Mark to pretty much make Hammer his bitch! However Davey Boy got his roar of approval from the Iowa fans as well... Kidman and Davey Boy had a you fly and I will outpower you battle which actually was the best formula as they definitally outdid Hammer's match... I wont include Benoits name because he is not as bad as Hammer is... Highlight of the match was Kidman going for a Moonsault Plancha and Davey Boy catching him and throwing him out of the ring very quickly as the fans looked on in shock... Kidman hit a Missile Dropkick that sent Davey Boy to the ground at one point and then went for the Shooting Star Press. Raven jumped up on the apron and somewhat distracted Kidman whilst distracting the referee allowing Davey Boy to get up and nail Kidman with the Powerslam... OFF THE TOP ROPE for the win! Raven somewhat laughs until the lights in the boiler room go up.... Benoit gets in Raven's face and says he already has one partner... Jim the Anvil Neidhart.. and his other partner is someone special from Raven's past! [/SIZE][/FONT] Rating: E+ Time: 6 Minutes [/CENTER] [SIZE="4"][CENTER][COLOR="Navy"]Ultimo Dragon vs. The Giant[/COLOR][/CENTER][/SIZE] [CENTER][FONT="Arial"][SIZE="2"]The Giant comes to the ring to a chorus of boos for rejoining the New World Order... Ultimo Dragon comes out to a loud pop and immidiately goes into the ring... The Giant being the gentleman he is tells Dragon he can have the first shot... Dragon goes off the rope with a Shoulderblock that does not move The Giant... Giant says he can have another one if he wants it... Dragon goes for another Shoulder block but instead goes up into the Hurricanrana position and lays into the Giant with hits to the face that sends him down... Basic back and forth David vs. Goliath match that the Giant had control of for most of the match... In other words it looked to be a squash... Dragon kept making some good comebacks with innovative moves such as some karate kicks and dropkicks and usual Luchadore stuff... Ultimo came off the Top Rope late in the match but Giant caught him in the Chokeslam position... Giant set Ultimo on the Top Rope and climbed up there with him... He grabbed the Choke and looked to be going for another Slam! Ultimo grabbed the Giants head though and flipped backwards hitting a super Asia DDT (Sliced Bread Number 2) and pinned Giant in an upset win that shocked the entire wrestling world! After the match when the Giant looked angry and was about to get up Ultimo Dragon ran outside of the ring and grabbed a chair... He swung at The Giant but the Giant caught the chair with his hands and looked to be going for a shot of his own... Ultimo started to run away and the Giant chased with the Chair up high until Ultimo was cornered... Ultimo jumped onto the Top Rope and cameback with a Spinning Judo Kick to the Chair which hit Giant's face and Ultimo ran away quickly smiling at his big win! This is ridiculous you just made the NWO look like Hore**** by having the Giant lose to Ultimo Dragon... Nash: Curt I can explain... Sting is then shown in front of the door and he closes the door shut and puts a Fork Lift in front of it knowing that Hogan is about to have his match next and the NWO cannot do anything about it! Rey Jr. came out and the fans had no clue what to think of him since he is kind of a little guy... Hogan and Rey locked horns early in the match and Hogan looked like a legit badass picking on a 14 Year old boy! Rey however fought back after some shoulder tackles done by Hogan and hit Hogan with a huge Dropkick that had him go out of the ring! Rey then hit a Suicide Con Hilo on Hogan that the fans ate up quickly and everyone was chanting for Rey.... They sent the match back into the ring and Hogan controlled most of the match! Hogan hit his key moves and made Rey look weak! At one point Hogan attempted to send Rey into the corner but Rey reversed it by sending Hogan in... Rey came off of the opposite corner with a Dropkick and then set Hogan up on the Top Rope... Scott Hall and Kevin Nash then hit ringside having Hall distract the referee and Nash run in and nail Rey with the Jacknife Powerbomb for the tainted win on Hogan's behalf! Eric: Interesting you should ask Mach well simple our funding is paid for by sponsors and so all Jericho did was with Zybysko bought a Timeslot on our sponsorship commercial time and did his show... Sorry Macho: Sorry isnt good enough... Jerichslow better watch his mouth or the elbow will be going into it... OOH YEA SNAP INTO A SLIM JIM!!! [/SIZE][/FONT] Rating: B- Time: 3 Minutes[/CENTER] [SIZE="4"][CENTER][COLOR="Navy"]Jim Neidhart, Larry Zybysko and Bret Hart vs. Scott Hall, Eric Bischoff and Buff Bagwell[/COLOR][/CENTER][/SIZE] [CENTER][FONT="Arial"][SIZE="2"]Before the match Eric Bischoff was shown and he found the forklift in front of the NWO locker room and moved it... Bagwell, Hall and Bischoff came out to the NWO Theme to a decent ovation... Nothing big but you know hey Hall is no Hogan... Hart, Zybysko and Neidhart came out in matching Hart Foundation gear and to the Hart Foundation music that the fans just ate up! Hart, Hall, Bagwell and Neidhart did most of the wrestling seeing as how well you know Zybysko is old and Bischoff cant work... Hall and Hart have no love loss and Neidhart and Bagwell seemed to have developed a hatred after last weeks simultanoues attacks! Basic tag match that really had nothing special going on with Hall and Hart really making the match Main Event worthy... Bischoff did his kicks, Bagwell strutted the stuf, Hall wrestled, Hart made Hall a star, Neidhart looked good and Zybysko was Zybysko... Finish came when the NWO hit ringside and distracted Hart and Neidhart... This allowed Hall to hit the Outsiders Edge on Larry Z for the tainted win! Afterwards the NWO (The Dudleys, Macho Man and Kevin Nash) handcuffed Hart and Neidhart to the railing and Hogan came down to ringside and hit the Leg Drop on Larry Z and demanded that Larry forfiet the match at Starrcade!!! Then.... THE LIGHTS WENT OUT!!! Sting appeared in the ring and smacked Hogan in the face with the bat and locked in the Scorpion Deathlock... The NWO attemped to charge ringside but The Steiners, Chris Jericho, Rey Mysterio Jr and Ultimo Dragon hit ringside making sure they couldn't... Hogan tapped out for 10 seconds before Sting let go and then... THE LIGHTS GO OUT AGAIN! Hogan is shown crying in the ring with a sign in front of his face that says "Six Days..."...
