This is more of a curiosity thread than anything else, but since the PS3 launches tomorrow in the UK / Europe (or did it launch on the 15th...blasted alzheimer's!) and since there appears to be a ton of British & European forumers here, I was wondering if any of you plan to get a PS3. Your thoughts / feelings about the launch? Will you get one ASAP? Will you wait until the price falls? Do you even care about Sony anymore? Will the PS3 conquer all in five years? Etc, etc. Share your opinions / thoughts / feelings in this exclusive thread! ;) ;) I should get back to studying...

I learnt my lesson with the launch of the PS2. I got one via catalogue on launch day, set it all up and booted up Ridge Racer 5. Played it for 10 minutes and then stuck on the demo disc that came with it. Never played Rubbish Racer 5 ever again. I was however stuck playing that demo disc for a few months until there was finally a decent game out. I think it was Dynasty Warriors 2 But that was the only game that was of interest during the first 6 months of owning it. So when the 360 came out i waiting about 5 months after launch and picked it up for about £113 ($221.76) with GRAW and Oblivion. But once i was bored of them, there was a selection of games to pick up that i wanted. Its now what im gonna do with the PS3 (as long as some good game IS gonna come out) and possibly the Wii
I NEED A WII *sounded funnier in my head than on screen*
it was actually pretty amusing. I know how you feel, im dying for a WII (didnt somebody actually do that?) as for the PS3 the price has scared me off, i will leave it two years so it'll be £200 cheaper and have more than 6 games! Until then, the 360 is an awesome console!

Interesting fact. My cousin owns both a PS3 and a 360. In the car wreck I was in last week he had both of them in the truck. Both of them flew a great distance. The 360 works.

Yeah. It's kinda halfway funny. We lost the power cord, so for a few days he was all depressed. Once we got a power cord and he hooked it up, he was dancing 'cause it worked.

I never buy consoles within the first month or so of release. The first batches nearly always contain some hardware of compatibility faults that aren't noticed until they go on retail. As for the PS3 in general. I don't see any reason to buy it right now. I've got a 360 and I can't see that it's really ahead of that system and it doesn't have the novelty/interactive value playing on the wii has... just seems like an overpriced console that came out too late. Besides, the xbox has the Halo franchise (obviously) which makes the decision to get one over the other even easier.

The reason that I decided to buy a 360 rather than order the PS3 was that the 30 has much more exclusive titles that I'm interested in, and most of the games that I'nm interested it are being released for both anyway. Just thought, there's no need to pay £200+ just for better graphics.
