Zobeto227 Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 In my game both TCW & SWF have fallen to "cult" level in a matter of 3 months despite the wrestling industry being at an A and rising!! TCW is on the verge of losing both of their TV shows since they aren't getting the kind of ratings that they should be supposively... and im sure SWF will soon follow. Has anyone else had this happen?! Both companies are practically falling apart! This is crazy.
shipshirt Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 I've had it happen with SWF. They were putting on C and C+ level shows so they lost popularity. I don't see anything wrong with that. They can rise again, just need to put on better shows.
Rob4590 Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 It happens in nearly every game. Most of SWF's main eventers are rubbish (so get dodgy match ratings), their talent lies in the midcard (who aren't over enough to get great ratings), while TCW only has 4 or 5 decent workers (TC, Wolf, Troy and the Machines). Give it time and TCW especially tends to rise back up (unless NOTBPW steals their stars!)

In my game for instance TCW stole Rich Money, Jack Bruce, Skull DeBones, and Remo from SWF while the latter were still at Cult level, and they never truly recovered. Angry Gilmore was their sole bright spot, and then he too departed for NOTBPW recently, so SWF's fate is pretty much sealed unless they pull it together fast (and get a TV deal again!). TCW and NOTBPW are almost always the Global powers as the game evolves - while PGHW can match them in show quality, their hopes of breaking out of Japan seem relatively slim.
AfRoMaN36 Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 Thats whats happening to wCw in my ratings war game. For some reason, they seem fixated on putting on shows in Puerto Rico. And after getting horrible ratings, their overness dips. After a while, I got bored of the wCw killing themself and I just shot up their rating in Puerto Rico myself...... yet still if they arent putting on terrible shows in Puerto Rico, theyre doing it in the states. And Im handing a beating over to wCw. Im sure soon enough, they'll drop in size and die a horrible, Russo-less death.
alden Posted March 24, 2007 Posted March 24, 2007 i usally play as swf and i have not had it happen yet......i usally get around b- to b+ shows *i have yet to get any a's yet.....but i still stay at the same level........i usally stay at b in all the areas except the west coast *which always seam to go down to b-*

Generally speaking, most human players look to reverse SWF's roster dilemma (by getting many of the talented midcarders into the main event) which can stop the bleeding, sometimes before it starts. But yeah, it's fairly common to see SWF fall to cult. I've seen TCW maintain at least once but they generally drop too.
alden Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 i actully keep the title on runaway train for a long while.....i always tend to get good ratings with him.....right now i have him as undefeated champion and the title prestige is at like 92%. I am going to have him finnaly drop the title to christian faith *as he is the second most over person on my roster* plus runaway has gone through all my face main eventers.

He aint no A* across the board but if you use him right he gets mad ratings, because his overness factors into most everything you do as an entertainment fed. Train vs. Bruce/Faith/Gilmore/Keith have all managed to get A's and even though he isn't as entertaining as others his segments still get A's coz he is so popular. But yeah the AI probably puts him in like 1 hr ultimate submisions or something ;) TCW always seem to recover on the back of Cornell and SWF lose all thier guys as they don't want to work for a promotion so small, some tour in Japan but most just sit around umemployed till TCW rise back up and create the unstoppable machine, see Adam's Watchers Journal :p

I've just never gotten decent results with him as a central focus. Maybe I'm just stuck on wrestlers who can actually, oh I dunno, wrestle? Bruce the Giant is a similar example. Sure he's popular, but in the ring he's reminiscent of a burning sewage plant (at least in my view). Running SWF, I usually get fantastic results by working Angry and Remo and such into the main event. Gilmore, Remo, Bruce and Faith are enough of a core to build around. I turn Train into Jack Bruce's bodyguard (ala Christian and Tomko) while leeching his overness to Remo and Angry (and Marc DuBois and, when I can get him, Hell Monkey) while letting him squash the women in 'WWF Superstars'/Umaga debut fashion.
ColtCabana Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 This also happens with the WWE in real world games. When I play as another promotion it kills the realism.

alden Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 train i think is a perfect example of a good entertaiment worker....it is not like he is big scott smack bad but he is no stone either...he is super over and that is what counts ;)....i put him in overness segments and always tend to get b or b+...i have gotten maybe one or two a's with him but never a a*...infact i don't think i have ever gotten a a* segment.
