DougieVol Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 In Gridiron Glory, we have the playoff system in place. What's better for prestige - making the playoffs and losing in the 1st round or making a mid tier bowl and winning? Does it matter for different prestige level schools? My team is an above average prestige - 65 I think. Would it be better for my team's prestige if I made the tournament and lost in the 1st? Or make a bowl like the Outback bowl and win?
Miral Posted March 30, 2007 Posted March 30, 2007 Win one more game to become bowl eligible and then tank the rest of the season. That's what the other ACC teams' advice is. :D
DougieVol Posted April 22, 2007 Author Posted April 22, 2007 Now that I'm in the playoffs against Florida, I'd like to find an answer. I will probably lose, so which is better for prestige: Losing in the 1st round of the playoffs or Winning a top tier nonplayoff bowl game? I'll either finish 10-3, winning my division, losing in playoffs or I would have finished 11-2 winning my division, winning a bowl
Arlie Rahn Posted April 24, 2007 Posted April 24, 2007 It's fairly similar, but I would say winning the bowl is probably better than losing in round 1. That said, winning a playoff game would be much better than winning a mid-tier bowl. Plus, you get credit for your ranking.
