Tripps04 Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 I just saw this on www.wwe.com. Huh interesting.
mystic Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 crap, you posted it before I hit the submit button. why do people call when I attempt to post?
Mtm2k6 Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 That sucks. :( MNM was one of my favourite teams, and Mercury had soon excellent matches with Hardy recently. And how the hell can you leave Flair off of Wrestlemania??
Sensai of Mattitude Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 Huh, no "We wish him the best in all future endeavors..." Maybe he's done something to upset WWE.
Tyler Gadzinski Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 it did say come to terms on his 'immediate' release .. maybe he failed another drug test.
PeterHilton Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 Yeah, I'm sure it was something along those lines.
Actarus Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 At best, we can only speculate as to why he was released, unless he or WWE gives us more information. Poor guy; I'm not the biggest Mercury fan, but I think he has good potential to achieve a have a decent career as a pro wrestler, and he may surprise me and achieve even more. WWE makes weird releases sometimes, but this one surprised me, in that for the past few months double-double-E has been putting together MNM on a whim whenever they needed a heel tag team to job on both Raw & Smackdown. Heck, they just wrestled on the last Smackdown! I wish him the best, and hope he lands on his feet somewhere. Wonder if TNA will go after him...

With only one hour of television time, the odds of Mercury seeing any focus at all in TNA are poor at best. At least in ROH he'd get on the show, even if it was only in a Scramble Match. The WWE seems to keep a close eye on ROH as well so if he does well there, it could even mean another shot in WWE for him if he wants it.
jagilki Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 I don't believe a word of this (yet). Here is what somebody posted on another message board. Note, I don't believe it (yet)... Just posting, 'cause if it's false... Ha ha... If it's real... Er... damn.
There was an incident backstage at Raw this afternoon, which resulted in Joey Mercury being fired and Stephanie McMahon being taken to a local hospital. Details are still coming in, but the early word is that Mercury snapped when the creative team told him that he and his partner Johnny Nitro would not be appearing at Wrestlemania 23. Not much is known, but word is that Mercury charged at Stephanie McMahon, knocking her into the side of a desk. He was immediately restrained by the rest of the creative team, and fired on the spot. Vince McMahon is said to be furious at the harm caused at his daughter, who had to be taken to a Chicago hospital for evaluation. Mercury may face criminal charges and possible jail time if WWE decides to follow through
I'm sure more details will surface soon enough. Shame that this means the end of MNM, one of the few successful tag teams that have any sort of worth in the WWE at the moment. Score another hit to that division I guess. I'm sure TNA will be on the phone soon enough.
MightyDavidson Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 Depends on wether that bit about Mercury taking a run at Stephanie McMahon is true or not. If it isn't then he's got a shot at being hired by TNA or ROH. If it is then I can see Vince doing everything he can to make sure Mercury ends up in jail or at the very least, unemployed.
jagilki Posted March 26, 2007 Posted March 26, 2007 Well, like I said, my source on that is... very not good. I won't believe it till I see it from somewhere halfway reliable. I just posted it, cuase like I said, if false... I find it funny, but if true... Damn.
KevBone Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 I haven't read that anywhere, so, yeah, I'd definitely take that report with a grain of salt.
lovestruck420 Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 I am completely unaffected by this news.........
djthefunkchris Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 I posted on the other thread, didn't realise there were two, however same thing bassically. I actually liked this guy, and thought his future would be bright. I prefered him over Nitro for sure. Out of all the worker's released over the last few months, this one caught me by surprise (only one I care is gone). I don't think it will hurt them at all (he has not been in as much as out anyways), but personally, I wish he wasn't gone.

PeterHilton Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007  Ohnwell, wrestling epicenter ....to clarify: THAT is not a credible site. And having checked their "story" I was suprised to see that "Dave Meltzer will have more information" since this story doesn't appear anywhere on Meltzer's site or his newsletter.
Bad Luck Brett Posted March 27, 2007 Posted March 27, 2007 Bryan Alverez has just reported Mercury was released due to the wellness policy on F4online.com, I'll take his word over most other sites. Link
