1.
Funny enough, my question is also along the same lines of navigating popularity loss from matches.

I'm planning a "wrestling league" style company inspired heavily from FIFA and soccer leagues. With that, I'm intending for a fair amount of draws but wanted to ask what effects that has on popularity and momentum.

Should I still be prepared to use the "keep strong" note to protect some of the more over talent? Or would them going to a draw with a less popular superstar not have a negative effect on their popularity?

Same style question for momentum. Will a draw be a step closer to neutral momentum (helpful for wrestlers with bad momentum, bad for ones with good momentum) or does it not get factored in and have an effect?

Thanks for the inspiration and thanks Arber for the logo/banner!

  3. I'm glad you're enjoying the discussion TSS. Do you have any of your own reads and opinions to add? I always worry about you now.

My most clear reads are townie ones on you and Zergon. Pretty confident on those.

Below that I'll include Rabbitman who is much more active and playing very differently than our scum game together. If that's an intentional deception, kudos, but I see it as now he only has this thread to talk in. :p

As far as who are scum: It's hard to really dive in on scum hunting until you can find one mafia member but once you find one, it gives a more clear path forward.

But to give some names, it's mostly the "kinda quiet" ones that I feel like I don't know a lot about. TBP and EP are technically the two lowest posting currently active players but I feel like their posts have provided some insight into their role/reads.

Eliphas and Emark are a step above them in activity but I feel like I know less about them. That could be on me, I might have missed some posts! But if not, I feel like it's a safe spot to be in. Not putting much of a target on yourself but not being the least active. But I mean with my activity this game, that is definitely pot/kettle. Mostly just pointing them out and seeing if they'll respond and how.

This is good, quality work. I'm linking it (rather than quoting) because quoting it messes up the quotes within. Good job hellshock, very impressive.

What are your reads at the moment?

And to a different point: With my vote, I'm going to stick with Leion and eliminate the very likely cult member. But I think the continued conversation/investigations going on are a good call for figuring out a potential route for the next day phase and putting pressure on people to keep staying active in the thread.

  5. A lot of deaths. Not as much as Blue's night of chaos but still, a lot of dead people.

DJ flipping cult means yeah, Leion is cult as well.

Had a moment and skimmed through past day phases and noticed something that gives me a strong town feel on Zergon. Him and Destiny are definitely trustworthy to me at this point.

I doubt EP would come out and say he sees himself in the write-up without being under pressure if he was seen killing in it. I'm going to sleep now but will get the ball rolling on this phase before I go. Vote: Leion

Yeah, feel like this is the right course of action. Eliminate a clear cultist and potentially finish off that entire team. Then I assume we just have an SK and a Mafia to worry about.

    Vote: Leion

  6. I'm not being coy. I am sure I TRIED to use it, but I still have it because it wasn't needed. I was going to try to ress lukes, I have a 50/50 shot of it working. I seen him ressed and thought I did it at first, but I now know that my ability wasn't needed, and so I still have it.

Oh. Can you still use it then? If so, maybe try it on Leion. Brings back a power townie and proves you're actually on town's side.

  7. Wow, big developments that I got the chance to read up on.

I'll give DJ some time to explain/argue once he gets back but at this point, it feels like that might be the right path for this day phase. He makes a fair point about being an easy "alignment switch" target but it's hard to go against a guilty result on an investigation especially since it isn't clear that there even is a alignment switching role in the game.

  8. After a double shift. I have napped, but EP is still kind of the tired.

What sort of weirdo sleeps? :p

    But fair. Since you're here:

    Vote" Eternal Pheonix

Care to chime in some thoughts. Even if they don't help, just how you feel about the general lay out of the game, maybe something about a write up, anything. I'm sorry but being gone the entire day phase and popping in to say..Someone should have told me the game started, then disappearing again doesn't sit well with me.

  9. Based on game size 3 or 4 scum/mafia as was previously stated.

Going by game title at least 1 dragon and 1 demon.

Then if the monstrous creature isn't the dragon or demon we're looking at yet another non-townie.

6 or 7 out of 17 which is now down to 15.

Normally I'd say that ratio feels a little scum heavy but with revivals at play, I tend to agree with it.

Yeah, I'm not going to think about "Chimera" or all the other things it might be. I feel that's a dragon. The Mod Liked being a Dragon, so did he like his team mate as well, give him another shot at being one? TSS, you that dragon again?

Nah, Ray is lame and randomizes roles instead of just picking favorites. Still got a fun one though.

  10. Hey, I'm here. Saw some suspicions my way for being quiet but yeah, Zergon pointed out that I'm not going to be as active as usual in this one.

For me "not as active as usual" sometimes means only 10 posts a day, lol. But this is a real less active than usual. Still, I'll be keeping alert and see what I notice.

Lukess and Leion both gone early surprises and doesn't surprise me at the same time. They're both very skilled and often end up getting taken out early because of it. I didn't catch any role slip/hints so I think it was more based on the poster, not the role. Feel like they both, Leion especially always die earlier than they should!

No reason for me to highlight why I'm getting townie vibes from people but getting a pretty okay townie feel from Destiny. Smaller one for Zerg. So, that's nice.

Hellshock, how many scum do you think there are in this one? And how many of them are mafia?

  11. I agree with the thoughts mentioned earlier about there potentially being 2 SKs. I get that vibe from the D0 writeup, with the second one "not yet awake". We'll see if that's just flavor and it is awake by N1 or if there may need to be some conditions hit for the wandering mind to get focused.

    Hi, TSS.

    Hi Destiny! :)

@Bak, we'll have to wait and see if we can get to see alignments when someone dies (or if it is delayed until they can't be revived or not at all all game).

  12. I'm here too, yay me! ME! ME! ME! :p

Just want to take a moment to emphasize the game specific rules:

*A graveyard discord will be available for those who have died. However dead players must wait 1 phase to be invited in case they are resurrected.

Good luck reviver person, if you're town.

Breaking this next part down into bullet points:

*Some characters and creatures will be tougher to kill. Those players can functionally be assumed to be protected once each night. When a kill is said to bypass protection, that means it by passes 1 instance of protection.

*If a character that is tougher to kill is also protected, it may still survive a kill that bypasses protection. If a character is targeted by more than 1 kill in the same night, a protection will only protect against 1 kill. So stacking protections may be wise for particularly valuable members of the town. (EXAMPLE 1: a player is protected twice, and targeted by a kill that bypasses protection. The player lives...EXAMPLE 2: a player is tougher to kill, and targeted by 2 killers in a night. The player will die.)

So it's a little different than some past games. As co-dragon with Ray we had a "get out of death free" card to use for only the first time one of us died. As mafia godfather I had a "you can't die until one of your team members does" which worked infinitely until that condition was met.

Reading this, I'd assume there's a mixture of both in this game. One-shot "make yourself tougher for tonight" as well as permanent "you'll need 2 kills to actually die" roles.

I'm curious if that only applies to night stuff given that town's main weapon will always be lynching. Either way, a lot of questions that I'm interested to see answered as this game plays out. Fun to actually be a townie again for once, too.

I like that wrestlers will have individual sales numbers but I'm hoping that merchandise might precede pop. I would love to see someone I planned to be a solid midcarder start moving merch, forcing me to push him and profit or stick with my gut on him.

I think it'd be an interesting tag/trait for a worker to include when we're allowed to start suggesting them. Someone who earns disproportionately more than they should at their current popularity level.

Might make it worth keeping a negative influence that is low on the card and not the greatest worker if they're just damn good at selling merchandise and the company needs the money.

  14. Yup, my bad. I think I pretty much 100% screwed up the game for the town. Between that and my choices for my ability that didn't seem to work out.

It didn't help that I was already feeling kind of anxious that day. To not only choose but completely screw it up means that I think I'll be out for at least a game at this point.

I think you're being WAY too tough on yourself in this post.

    1. With the rabbitman vote, there was a lot of pressure on you, MoT, Lukess since it was only you 3 making the call. A mislynch on D3 wasn't the end of the world and then, after the night phase party, Rabbit was given a strong town lean by most.

    2. Your power connected a townie and a scum, which was the goal. In fact, DJ even messed up once or twice and posted scum chat stuff in the mason thread. Luckily he either deleted it prior to Derek b seeing or it worked for both chats. Your plan was accurate, it just didn't help that both Derek and DJ are smooth talkers and trusted each other.

  15. Your welcome, I had EP kill bluestar. DJ had me fooled.

I thought Derek was the bus driver and blocked him last night to make him kill you

You were the biggest blessing (blue kill) and pain (...pretty much everything else) to us this game! :p

I was certain you were Scarpa scum and arguing it until I was blue in the face in scum chat. You just saw through our team too well. And yeah, have Derek kill me and we would have been in a much worse spot.

You saw through my posts pretty much all game, knew the right moves to make, and just got unluckily stopped or not trusted by enough people when you were trying to make them in thread or at night. So kudos!
