Austin begins by saying despite McMahon’s best efforts he retained the WWF Championship last week on Raw. He then moved on to The Undertaker. He said he knew The Undertaker wanted that WWF Championship, but he never thought The Undertaker would stoop so low as to become Vince’s lacky to do so. This immediately brings out The Undertaker to the stage who says that he is nobody’s lacky. He did what he did because he was told he would get a shot at Austin’s Championship at Unforgiven if he did. Austin says why wait for Unforgiven, he can open a can of whoop as on The Undertaker right now. Undertaker starts walking to the ring but is cut off by Mr. McMahon’s music. Mr. McMahon says to stop because The Undertaker and Austin will not be wrestling each other tonight. In fact, tonight Austin would be wrestling Triple H and that The Undertaker would be ringside as the timekeeper for the match. A*

Flash Funk defeated Ahmed Johnson. As Ahmed was setting up the Pearl River Plunge, D’Lo started making his way to the ring and Johnson released the setup to jaw with D’Lo. D’Lo turns around and heads to the back, but that was all Flash Funk needed to hit a big spinning heel kick and the Tumbleweed for the victory. C

Mankind is in the Boiler Room and is cutting a promo about Vader. Mankind says No Disqualifications and No Count Outs is just fine with him, in fact that’s Mankind’s middle name. In fact this boiler room looks pretty good, why not make it a boiler room brawl? Mr. McMahon says they can have their title shot, if they beat The New Age Outlaws tonight, and to get to the ring because that match will begin right now. C-

The Headbangers defeat The New Age Outlaws. The Headbangers target the injured ribs of Road Dogg all match. C+

Backstage Austin confronts Triple H and asks him how it feels to be Mr. McMahon’s latest pawn in his game with Stone Cold Steve Austin. Triple H says he is no pawn, and after he beats Austin tonight, he will beat Owen Hart for the Intercontinental title at Unforgiven and it will only be a matter of time before he beats Austin to become WWF Champion. Austin then punches Triple H, but Chyna quickly gets involved and the 2 play the numbers game on Austin until they are separated. A*

Owen Hart defeats The Rock by disqualification to retain the Intercontinental Championship when Farooq’s interference was seen by the referee. After the match The Rock and Farooq argued as The Rock was upset as he had told Farooq not to interfere. B

Jeff Jarrett defeats Ken Shamrock when Kama distracted the ref while The Rock hit a Rock Bottom on Shamrock allowing Jarrett to get the pinfall. B-

Vader is interviewed and quickly accepts Mankind’s challenge before going to the ring for his match. B-

Vader defeats Marc Mero with the Vaderbomb. B

Ahmed Johnson walks into Ken Shamrock’s locker room and says he can’t help but notice that they have both been having problems with The Nation lately and he thinks if they watched each other’s backs that it may help solve that problem. Shamrock says next week he wants to try that out in a tag team match against D’Lo and The Rock. B

Stone Cold and Triple H fight to a double count out. Both men play very loose with the rules from the opening bell. Towards the end of the match Austin dives out of the ring and attacks The Undertaker. Triple H follows and the 2 brawl on the outside while the ref counts them out. B-

Post match The Undertaker, Triple H, and Chyna triple team Austin until Raw goes off the air. A

Show Grade: B

Good start
