  1. The best advice I could give to keep a game realistic is, just because you CAN do something, doesn't mean you SHOULD.

Here's an example. If I'm playing as AEW in a real world mod, there's a ton of great talent that was released from WWE in April or whenever. Rusev, EC3, Gallows and Anderson, Slater, etc. Now I CAN sign all of them, but I shouldn't. That would make me look like WWE lite if it were real. Just try to look at everything through the eyes of a wrestling fan and/or reporter.

I had a five year puroresu game that I put an insane amount of time into. I booked tournaments exactly how I would expect them to play out. I had years long story archs of wrestlers overcoming adversity. I could've been more "gamey" and signed top tier talent and just booked however I wanted, but I quickly learned through previous games that the most fun I've had is when I book realistically.

I love this. I always have the least fun in TEW when it feels ‘gamey’ and when I start making ‘gamey’ decisions, so will definitely keep this in mind. Cheers!

It forces me to slow down and actually plan storylines and angles instead of just gaming for a score.<p> </p><p> <a href="https://drive.google.com/file/d/1l3jNWsjdlGleVtEKJZHrv6z_9-S8GuOw/view?usp=sharing" rel="external nofollow">https://drive.google.com/file/d/1l3jNWsjdlGleVtEKJZHrv6z_9-S8GuOw/view?usp=sharing</a></p><p> </p><p> is an example i did just today. instead of a normal Promo - Show Open angle that i have, i wrote out the whole thing with the authority making a match for a #1 contender.</p><p> </p><p> i try to do this for at least one angle and one match per show.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> This is great. I reckon you’ve totally changed the way I’m gonna play the game there. Thanks so much for sharing!</p>
  3. What do you all do to make your game ‘realistic’? For example, when playing a real world mod I’ll follow the booking that happened IRL for at least the first month to replicate the ‘settling in phase’ when someone starts a job in reality, meaning I’m not only taking over from a real point in history but am able to sit back and watch the current plan unfold and plan my own adjustments and improvements.

What do you do in-game to make the whole experience feel more realistic, especially with RW mods?

Do you play theme music? Create entrance specific angles for each wrestler? Do you only hire wrestlers that worked in the company IRL? Would love to hear your ideas and things that work for you!

  4. You're not wrong. I keep asking myself "Does this sound too rude, or like weird complaining." But I feel if I don't try to mention my issues, they may be overlooked because they are indeed small problems.

Like one of the people said to me in a private message "People are looking at the pattern on the plate and ignoring the meal on the plate." I keep repeating that the main game is absolutely great! I will keep praising those aspects. I care deeply about the game because for the last 7 years it has (And I know what I'm about to say will sound really lame & stupid) really changed my life! Something about playing TEW has always helped with my nervous energy & anxiety issues. Gave me a feeling of control that no other game or thing ever really could. It sounds stupid but this is in no way be just slagging a game because I want to be a jerk. I want the game to be the best it can be.

I try to be as fair & balanced with what I say, but I also sometimes just type it out & don't think if it sounds like TOO much.

I totally feel that man - this game has helped me in similar ways and I know everything people are saying only comes from a good place and wanting this awesome series to be even more awesome. It’s really important we mention issues and share our concerns, I just sometimes worry about the tone we drift into (often accidentally) and the fact there’s one dude with all of this on their shoulders. I’m just so grateful this game even exists ha! Take care man.

  5. I get that we all love this game but some of the replies and the ways people talk about Adam and his work are nothing short of entitled. Compare this to WWE’s 2K series. You can tell Adam truly cares about the quality of the product and I have faith that he’s doing all he can to make it as good as possible as quickly as he can. I’m not saying we can’t make requests and give feedback but surely we can all remember this is mainly one dude making a computer game that gives so many people lots of happiness and enjoyment. Especially in the current circumstances, a little bit of kindness and consideration of the human behind the game would go a long way I reckon!
  6. This is just an observation, but I'd say about 95-98% of responses that are positive and how the person loves the game are from people that are "new members", which tells me this is probably their first TEW game (maybe 2nd).

Most the people that are having negative reactions are "low minors" and up, which tells me they've probably been around TEW/EWR a lot longer.

This makes me wonder if us "vets" aren't giving the game enough of a chance or that the "rookies" don't understand the issues we are talking about. (The truth is probably somewhere in between.)

Just an interesting observation I've made through the past 50 pages or so of text.

This doesn’t seem like a helpful observation. As a few others have said, I’ve been playing and lurking since the EWR days but just never felt compelled to setup an account until now. Don’t think using how many posts someone has on a message board to separate where someone’s opinion might be coming from is that helpful.

Big, big fan of this game and think it’s the best in the series so far.

Torrie vs Kat should be able to be rated well in the right product definitions, but it shouldn't be capable of hitting top scores because, no matter how good the rating is, it still probably isn't a "good match."</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> This feels absolutely spot on to me.</p>
  8. Can anyone offer any help on why in my converted 1994 RW mod I’m getting 6-8 workers turn up too drunk or high to work and being sent home on every show? I’ve made sure they don’t have Heavy Drinker, Heavy Drug User etc but no improvement. I know it was the 90s and there was a lot of that going on but it’s making it unplayable having 6-8 top guys sent home every single show. Thanks in advance for the help!
  9. Seeing a lot of hate on the UI which I can see to a certain extent but nowhere near as bad as many are saying. BUT, the gameplay is incredible. So many brilliant quality of life fixes and you can tell this is built for long term play. Thanks Adam and the team, very happy with this and can’t wait to see where it goes with patches etc.

Thought it’d be a nice idea to share the new additions people love or are getting enjoyment out of to balance out some of the toxic comments. So, what are you loving about the game?
