  1. How long should I be keeping people with Cold and Chilly etc momentum off of TV, on average, before it gets back to neutral?

Does sporadic appearances reset the drift back to neutral?

Really looking to see when it becomes more than 6 months? In which case it makes more sense to just release them and pick them back up later

You're supposed to keep them off tv? Well **** me I've been trying to feed them wins to get their momentum up too.

  2. <p>At the very least these people can be combined with the existing Celebs DB to flesh that out a bit (particularly if you mass edit them all to be on-screen personalities only). </p><p> </p><p>

Then you can import as many or as few as you want into your universe whenever you have a need for them.</p><p> </p><p>

Edit: If I feel inspired I might do some work on bios one of these days just to help out. At least speaking real-world wise it should be easy just to grab from wikipedia to give an idea of who some of these women are.</p>

  3. Bash @ The Beach 1994 (My first 100 card ever)

Used to play EWR back in the day (like more than 10 years ago), but haven't played TEW in a long time, so I'm considering this my first ever 100 card really.

Things you didn't see in the card history that add color, or that I just want to mention while I'm geeked-out on this:

    1) Brian Lee gets the pre-show victory because both Ricky Steamboat and Stan Hansen have offered to put him over in upcoming months. So he's due for a push I guess.

    2) Kimberly Page needs some angle-time to setup her turning heel. She'll be Bret Hart's manager when he debuts in a couple weeks. He's going to turn on Hulk Hogan in his debut match and become the 4th Horseman (along with Ric, Arn, and Hennig).

    3) Hogan/Flair is my big feud that I'm setting up for a payoff at Starrcade. This was literally the beginning of the feud.

    4) Toshiaki Kawada debuts as a babyface opponent for "Strong Style" (my puru stable featuring my other Japanese workers and one gaijin). Think like an invasion angle.

    5) Dean Malenko has held the WCW Jr. Heavyweight Title since winning the tournament for it. Takada is a member of Strong Style. This match also featured Jushin Liger running in and attacking Malenko, setting up their big match at Starrcade, which will be a rematch of their MOTY from 1993 in NJPW. I was able to pickup Liger since he was smuggling drugs and was released from NJPW.

    6) Horsemen attacking Luger was because Luger vs. Arn Anderson is another feud I have ongoing (that I wanted to prolong). Luger does a stretcher-job, hence Bockwinkel announcing the match is cancelled.

    7) Dustin Rhodes is getting a huge push. Both Sting and Arn want to put him over, and Cactus Jack is a Major Star who is leaving at the end of the month to go to WWF so I'm going to get Dustin up to Star/Major Star status.

    8) Shawn Michaels (US Title) is feuding with Brian Pillman, but I wasn't ready for a singles match there yet, and Warrior had nothing else going on.

    9) Yeah, I'm a guy. I threw all the pretty ladies I've got into a "Beach Bikini Brawl" Eye Candy match. (note - I also boosted their basic skills to the minimum level to avoid a terrible grade, since that kind of match getting a giant red grade would just frustrate my 18-49 year-old self). In-universe I like to think that it's been 12+ months since these ladies have been with WCW (with the exception of a couple of the new ones who I didn't touch their grades), and they were taught the basics of having a successful eye candy match (This is my way to counterweight the nerfing of Sex Appeal in the engine).

    10) Sting and Curt Hennig are feuding - part of the larger feud between the IV Horsemen and the babyfaces. Needed to wrap this feud up though, because Sting needs to get into his program with Dustin Rhodes over the next month. Shame, because these guys can freaking go.

    11) The Main Event was a singles match between Flair and Hogan that evolved into a tag match ("midway additions") when Arn came down to interfere against Hogan, and then Luger made a miraculous return from the hospital only for The Horsemen to pull off the win via a Figure Four when Flair took advantage of Lugar's injured leg.

  4. i'm playing as RIPW i'm in August of year one, nobody has graduated from the Supreme University, there suppose to graduate in August. Is it the first of the month or just some time during the month? Also i've got my merchandise department up to level 5 it says we can now sell individual merchandise for major star and stars but nobody is popping up as selling merchandise, is it because they're just not popular enough?

Takes 12 months before your first class will graduate. So August of year 2.

  5. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Jemal" data-cite="Jemal" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47811" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Hi, <p> </p><p> I’ve just started a new save after buying TEW 2020 and I’ve been trying to turn a worker face for about 33 segments now and “fans are now getting bored of it” but i’ve literally done every angle possible but the “handle changes” button doesn’t ever pop up?</p><p> </p><p> can anyone help me out? if there’s a particular angle I have to choose or if its an error in the game. Thanks</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> There's a "turn" road agent note - try tossing that in to make it happen. </p><p> </p><p> It'll also happen if you set him for a gimmick change too I think.</p>
  6. If you don't like the idea of paying him that much, don't. Let them sign him or release him. If they keep him, you have more competition.

But I want to crush them into oblivion. And I mean he can still go...his average match rating is an 87 and he has the current MOTY candidate with a 99. Just dropped the WWF title to Yoko a couple months back.

    *evil cackle*

You're right though. I could leave him there feuding with Yoko and Rick Martell and Cactus Jack. Decisions decisions.

  7. All the :D

    June 1994 WCW Roster Moves:

Out: Ron Simmons ($15k/month), Cactus Jack (going to let him walk to WWF, not going to pay him $115k/month just to be a brawler), Jesse Ventura ($75k/month)

In: Toshiaki Kawada ($65k/month), Bret Hart ($140k/month), potentially Macho Man ($220k/month - I hate the idea of paying this much for him, but he's unquestionably WWF's biggest star left so it should really screw them over).

  8. One thing I've noticed - you can copy & paste the angle text into an Excel file (or whatever kind of document) when it displays during the show. It's not the same, but if you want to keep it, and you are cool with keeping an Excel file containing past cards (like say for booking) then you can do that. I'mthe same way - there are definitely at least some promos that I "play out" in my head as I'm booking that you can't quite capture in the tiny text of the title.

Other than that, the only other solution is to play TNM where you can script out stuff like that and it will save. Of course it's other aspects are more bare-bones then TEW, so that is its own drawback.

  9. Quick update: I created a stable for my Japanese workers I'm bringing in, called Strong Style.

Managed by Terri Runnels, this heel group contains:

    Steve Williams (WCW Television Champion)

    Nobuhiko Takada

    Genichiro Tenryu

    Yoji Anjo

But...the crown jewel has just signed with WCW. It may require turning Steve Williams face and having him quickly beaten out of the group in order to make it work and give them a natural opponent, but I've just signed Stan Hansen to a 2 year deal to bring him back stateside.

Would be nice ideally to have Hansen take over that group, have Williams turn face and then feud with them (although he'll need some help), and then ultimately have him retire Hansen in 2 years time.

  10. May 1994 - WCW

    WCW World Heavyweight Champion: Warrior

WCW United States Champion: Shawn Michaels

WCW World Television Champion: Dr. Death Steve Williams

WCW World Tag Team Champions: The Steiner Brothers

WCW World Jr. Heavyweight Champion (formerly the WWF/NJPW Junior Heavyweight Title): Dean Malenko

    WCW Women's Champion: Debbie Malenko

International Wrestling Federation Heavyweight Champion: Ric Flair

Let's get the "WTF" out of the way first. I absorbed IWF out of Florida, and had Ric Flair squash their champion Jimmy Backlund for storyline purposes, hence why he holds that belt.

    State of the Belts

    • Warrior won the Word Title from Flair at Staarcade.
    • Michaels had been engaged in a feud with Rick Rude over the US Title that just finished.
    • Dr. Death has held the TV Title since November. He recently unified the WCW and IWF TV Titles (the IWF Title had a higher prestige actually so I wanted to shift to it) by beating the IWF TV Champion Al Perez.
    • Nobody has emerged to challenge Debbie Malenko for the Women's Title yet.
    • The Steiner Brothers have just moved back over to WCW from WWF, and defeated the Hayes/Gordy incarnation of The Freebirds to capture the tag belts.
    • Dean Malenko won a tournament for the World Jr. Heavyweight Title that finished two months ago.

The State of WCW (How we got here)

    • Hulk Hogan was the one who tricked Flair into getting matched up against Backlund for the IWF Title by saying he'd get a "World Title" shot even though Hulk didn't hold the World Championship. Hogan is currently managed by Rita Flair (African American valet) who's gimmick/storyline is that she's Ric Flair's secret, unwanted love child. Hogan has yet to hold the WCW World Title.
    • Flair and Hogan have not yet had a singles match.
    • The Undertaker joined WCW in November, and is already a major star thanks to some squashes and a memorable casket-match victory over Roddy Piper.
    • IV Horsemen (Heels): Flair, Arn, Curt Hennig, Ron Simmons
    • Malenko Family (Faces): Dean, Chris Benoit, Perry Saturn, Debbie Malenko, Boris Malenko (mgr)
    • The Alliance (Faces): Sting, Warrior, Lex Luger
    • The Ravishing Bunch (Heels): Rick Rude, Brian Pillman, Barry & Kendall Wyndham

    Short Term Plans

    • Ric Flair and Warrior to feud over the World Title. Flair has never pinned Warrior clean in a singles match - in fact their only previous singles match was at Starrcade when Warrior took the strap off Flair. Building to Clash of the Champions in June where Flair will get a victory in the return match.
    • Barry Wyndham is feuding with The British Bulldog - this will be wrapping up in April probably (been ongoing since February).
    • After this feud wraps up I may swing The British Bulldog back into the Tag Team ranks with The Dynamite Kid, who I brought back over from Japan.
    • Dean Malenko will have a short feud with Nobuhiko Takada to carry him through Clash of the Champions.
    • Steve Williams is beginning a "shoot feud" with Steve (Williams) Austin based around their name. Austin is actually more popular than Williams, so I'm hoping this can elevate Dr. Death despite him being an uncharismatic sack.
    • Luger and Sting will have feuds with Arn Anderson and Curt Hennig in various singles/tag permutations.
    • Others TBD

    Long Term Plans

    • Once Flair takes the belt from Warrior he will begin a 6-month program with Hogan leading up to Starrcade 1994 and the first clash between the two. Hogan should take the belt there, and then I may do an extension of that program to get the belt back on Ric via Rita Flair turning on Hulk (TBD).
    • Starrcade will also feature a rematch of 1993's Match of the Year as Dean Malenko defends the World Junior Heavyweight Title against Jushin Liger. Fired by NJPW after a drug-smuggling scandal, Liger was snapped up by WCW, who are keeping him off TV to let the scandal blow over, but have huge plans for the talented superstar.
    • The Steiners will be feuding with The Nasty Boys over the tag straps.
    • More TBD

  11. I am playing a 1996 mod as WWF. I had a similar situation at the start of 1997 where I could get a deal with FOX but leaving the remaining 1 year contract with USA would have cost $5.5mil. Well, the deal I was able to get with FOX gave me $900k PER SHOW (RAW) and 10% of the ad revenue to WWF. It was a no brainer for me as I would be able to recoop that $5.5 in six month -- by the way my deal with USA gave me nothing.

Look at the deals of what you are negotiating (how much the broadcaster will pay per show and how much ad revenue % you can get without having to pay anything -- also, the longer the deal, the more money you will usually get per show).

    I hope that helps.

Oh yeah, I bet the finances on a FOX deal would be swet. It just feels funny from a roleplaying perspective though, to jump from TBS already, especially if I can reach max size while still at TBS, you know?

  12. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="d12345" data-cite="d12345" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47811" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><p> You can try shorter matches for those wrestlers. Match those low psychology workers with high psychology workers, that can keep the match from not making sense.</p><p> </p><p> Or put them in matches where psychology is less important. Like High Spots, Car Crash, Mayhem, Wild Brawl or even Steal the Show.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Thanks. Yeah, I was definitely dialing the match times down, but I hadn't thought about putting them in those other types of matches.</p>
  13. I wouldn’t pay money to break a TV contract ever, unless you were racing to Big/National (but even then you’d get access to even better networks from hitting that level).

It’s been confirmed that you can still reach max size without having maximum size coverage, so really the money might be better spent elsewhere. You’d also likely have to take a smaller cut to be on a larger network, for not much in terms of popularity gains.

    Thanks!

I'm only getting a 10% cut from TBS as is, and I'm sitting on 23mil in cash (and we're talking maybe 6mil to break free of TBS entirely). I'm getting a sweet 30% for my new SkySports deal to show WCW Saturday Night in prime time across Europe though :)

Good to know that I can still reach max size without max coverage - that's the most important thing. In that case it probably makes sense (and certainly makes sense from a roleplaying perspective) to stick with TBS.

I figure when I hit a realistic year (around 2000) I'll break ties with TBS and go Internet, since that's something that potentially could have happened then.
