  1. 16 booking would be great as well. Also, this is not something "you get used to". Its inherently slower, clumsy and badly designed. Its a step down from its predecessor.
  2. There has been major discussion about this, but none on the front page. It is the number 1 issue plaguing this game right now, imo. Booking arrows need to go. It's slow and cumbersome. You cannot even keep track of what you are moving as the text is so small and far away from the arrow. Drag and drop booking needs to be implemented here. Or, use the 2016 style. Make matches a different color from angles. If color cannot be used, use some designation to make it easy to differentiate between the two. Maybe default matches to be in all caps. Also, the match/angle designation under the "Type" is too far away for it to be useful.
  3. if i download this game, start a save file (on 1.07), and a new patch comes out... if i update to that patch, will it effect my current save file?
  4. I plan on buying this game if there's enough fixes. Question, if I buy the game, say tomorrow, start a save, and then 3 days after that a new update comes out that sixes things... will that update apply to my save game?
  5. <p>The discussion about tearing the game apart to remake it with the same engine echoes my opinion 3 weeks ago when I played the demo. Reposting it here, as its currently relevant discussion, and the release of the game hasnt changed much of my issues that I have. The UI, while improved, is still very bad. Booking issues werent even attempted to be fixed. Worker contracts still hidden. Keyboard mouse still has less functionality than 1995s RollerCoaster Tycoon. Angles and viewing stats is cumbersome. Luckily we got rid of yellow as the top stat, though I still go to bed wondering how that call was made in the first place</p><p> </p><p> <em>Looking at this thread, a significant chunk of problems I have or others have get labelled as "limitations". That, despite it being very weird for a developer to not move on past 1991 programming.. for all I know he isnt a developer as much as he is someone who enjoys ****ing around with VB. For all I know, his day job is completely unrelated to all of this. But the issues are so prominent, yet at the sametime downright silly. Who asked for QoL nerfs from 16?! I dont understand how we got here.</p>
  6. Anyone else tired of valid threads being shut down with the justification of "its turning into personal attacks", despite there being either very little or, more commonly, no personal attacks whatsoever like the "Keyboard Arrow/Scroll Support Process" thread? If action is to be taken, it should be taken against the users in question-- not against everyone like its third grade. Communist china sympathizers Reddit/google/Facebook/etc dont even do that. I for one would love to have a thread dedicated to any progress involving the keyboard and mouse. That is one of the major fixes I am waiting on before I purchase this game. This is a necessity for me, and I know I am not alone. Having a top thread regarding this issue (along with discussion in the suggestions forum) will go a lot further than it being lost on page 132 of the beta thread, or page 7 on the release thread. People disagreeing should not warrant a thread being locked, especially on such an important manner

It's like I'm looking at a Word or Excel document from Windows 98. I have to manually click tiny arrows and scroll to find information that was easily accessible in TEW2016. The font is anemic. The bottom bar is <a href="http://greydogsoftware.com/forum/showthread.php?t=546690" rel="external nofollow">pure redundant space</a>. The windows in the layout are thrown on the screen with no thought given to where they should logically be, e.g. the workers screen has contract details on the left side, skills squashed in the middle, then more contract details on the right side. Information is repeated in multiple places on the same screen but other useful information is hidden behind tabs or scrolls.</p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p> <a href="https://i.imgur.com/1j0T14J.jpg" rel="external nofollow">https://i.imgur.com/1j0T14J.jpg</a></p><p> </p><p> Contract details on the left, skills in the middle, contract details on the right.</p><p> </p><p> On the left it tells me that the worker is employed by TCW. On the right it tells me (again) he has a contract with TCW, it also tells me how much his contract with TCW is worth, and when it expires.</p><p> </p><p> All of these things should be in the same box. The information is just all over the screen.</p><p> </p><p> Also, what on earth is this screen?: <a href="https://i.imgur.com/rWP6Hz6.jpg" rel="external nofollow">https://i.imgur.com/rWP6Hz6.jpg</a></p><p> </p><p> Why is it not alligned properly? Some text will presumably be filled in here when there are incidents that affect her morale but there's no box for that text, and there's still heaps of empty space all over, including a big gap underneath the biography. There's another sub-menu for chemistry, which is bizarrely on this screen. I'll be surprised if anybody even finds this menu because to get to it they have to do the following:</p><p> </p><p> <a href="https://i.imgur.com/sfmbyT4.jpg" rel="external nofollow">https://i.imgur.com/sfmbyT4.jpg</a></p><p> </p><p> Do you see on the left under USPW Status (yellow text)? If you click "has normal morale" you get to the screen above. That isn't even a button! It's a random piece of white text contained in a larger textbox. To make things worse - if you click the white text above it saying "has neutral momentum," THAT piece of white text leads... nowhere. No menu pops up if you click the momentum text. The text the links to a menu looks exactly the same as the text that doesn't link to anything. How are people supposed to find the screen they need? Just click every piece of text and hope something pops up? That's insane. No game should be designed that way.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Thank you. Sums up my criticisms.</p>
  8. <p>First tew game I havent bought since 05. My major issues-</p><p> </p><p> Booking arrows</p><p> No way to view worker on angles</p><p> Lack of scrolling</p><p> Still has general awful UI (skills, small text)</p><p> </p><p> Was expecting these to be fixed during the two week delay. Will purchase once these are fixed.</p>

Batista or Grand Khali? Not so much</p>
  10. Ultimately, this seems to be where most of the issues come from. I have been able to get some more playtime in the demo (or beta, as its now being called) these last few days. Looking at this thread, a significant chunk of problems I have or others have get labelled as "limitations". When I read this game was being rebuilt from scratch, I assumed we were getting in line with modern times- That TEW2020 was being built from scratch as we were going to use a program that was created in the 21st century. We were building it from scratch to get rid of 1991 programming so we could, at the very least, have the game be able to use full screen. Finding out this is still being built on the 1990s program, the same one that EWR was using, was mind blowing for me. It seems odd, counter intuitive even, to go through the trouble of rebuilding something while still using the same program that gives you all these limitations in the first place. For all the great things this game does (talk to worker, new attributes and Daniel bryan yes movement recreation being my favorites), it takes big steps back in the worst ways possible. So I do feel the need to mention it here. - Arrow keys/scroll bar. I hear its being updated. We will see. I hope so. - Booking changes being so cumbersome. How did this happen? Why is it so hard to move things. - Quick view worker on the booking screen is gone. Why? - Navigating worker contracts. If a common question in a fanbase that has been playing these games for 5-20 years is "how do I fire someone?", something is verh wrong. - Less severe, but not giving the option to have letter grades and then also making it so yellow of all colors is the top stat. Yellow?? Nowhere on the planet is yellow going to be a universal color for a higher end grade Less clicks and more optimization should always be a priority in these games. But for whatever reason, intended or not, we seem to be going in the opposite direction. For me, right now with the demo/beta, the pros do not outweigh the cons. I love EWR and TEW. I think adam is brilliant to make these games, not to mention during his free time. Thats also why part of me feels bad having criticism- knowing this isnt Adams day job. 11. Tried to post this yesterday and both threads got locked. One of them got locked while I was typing up my post. Been playing since EWR. I love these games. Ryland is nothing short of a genius to have started making them in C+ or Java or whatever he used (its been 18 years and I dont remember the exact details lol) I always give the UI a pass in these games. It isnt great usually but the mod community helps it out. But, and it seems this a common complaint, 2020 has worse UI than the games did in 2002. It is very offputting, to the point where the mod community I dont think can fix it. The lack of functionality (arrow keys, mouse wheel) is bizarre, as is using yellow for the top stats. These issues shouldnt exist, I really dont know how it got passed the beta testers (if there was any), but its really hurting my experience. User interface and ease of accessibility need to be a priority in a game like this. In nearly two decades of playing EWR TEW and being on forums for this game, this is the only time I have ever seen questions like "how do I fire someone" come up consistently. And they are not isolated questions, from new players. I think that says a lot.
  12. If I downloaded the beta to create my characters that I want to use... would I be able to easily import them to a real world mod when the game comes out next week? Or do I need to start from scratch?
