Yeah, he passed almost 4 months to the day. He was an amazing guy, would have fit right in with the wrestlers back then, and would have kept a lot of them in line, as he was no slouch with his fists, lost only one fight (split decision) while boxing in the USMC. I was pretty sure he would bury me, but a brain tumor showed up. It was hard watching him go from picking me up in bear hugs (I'm 260lbs) at Christmas, to being non-ambulatory by June.
The game is grinding along, Don Muraco seems a little underwhelming at his debut, but otherwise its okay. My fed is out of Buffalo, so I've brought in Mark Lewin as my local hero, however he's 0-3 in mainevents against Ron Reed, who just allied with a young kid from France named Andre. I have distant plans of Lewin being champ for a while, then losing it to Andre who will go on to have a Sammartinoesque run for most of the decade.
I've teamed Rocky Johnson, Thunderbolt Patterson and Sonny King as a face group called The Dream Team, as a reference to Martin Luther King's speech. Also Don Ross and Billy Graham as The Heavenly Bodies.
