  1. This topic can be closed, because I have resolved the issue. (There was a macro in Access blocking the pstats.dat file, which is why I couldn't save it correctly)
  2. I am trying to use a mod for BBCF, and am having a persistent issue with Run-Time Error 3343. Here's the basic setup. The mod itself (JaCeLo's 2020 mod) is stable. When I download that directly and replace the pstats and psetup files, the game works. However, I wanted to change some of the team nicknames, because I am doing some testing for making my own mod. Microsoft Access will of course let me open and edit the pstats and psetup files, but it is not letting me save the pstats and psetup files as .dat. I then tried simply opening JaCeLo's pstats file in notepad and changing one nickname (and NOTHING else) manually. The second I do that, I get a runtime error 3343 when I try to create a new league within BBCF. Any ideas? I don't understand why simply opening the .dat in Notepad and saving 1 name differently is corrupting the database.
  3. I would like to bump this up with the weekend approaching to see if anyone has any ideas for what I can do to find a program that will let me properly edit and save the .dat files in BBCF. Any information would be welcome.
  4. I am attempting to make a mod of BBCF, and I have been trying to use Microsoft Access, because the last time I did a BBCF mod (which was over a decade ago), that seemed to do the job. However, I can't figure out how to make it work now. I can open the pstats.dat and psetup.dat files in Access, but I can't find a way to save those files in a way that works for BBCF. Even after going through a couple of steps to change the pstats.accdb file that Access spits out into the pstats.dat file that BBCF recognizes, I am still getting the following error: 'Run-time error 3443:' Unrecognized Database format Any suggestions/tips would be appreciated.
  5. I am looking for some advice on starting a college football dynasty. I have had the idea for a number of years of creating a promotion/relegation structure, which would basically be set up with 180 teams split over 15 conferences. In each "region" of the country, teams would be able to get promoted or relegated to higher and lower conferences based on conference championships/relegation games the year before. I would also want to have a playoff structure, though ideally only limited to the highest "Power 5" conferences. (The goal for teams in lower-level conferences would be to get promoted into the Power 5) I have familiarity with Bowl Bound College Football and have even used Microsoft Access to try to develop mods for BBCF in the past. I am looking for some advice on some questions that I have regarding my idea. Specifically..... *How many teams can BBCF handle before it starts losing normal function? *Can BBCF handle making a playoff structure where only SOME conferences are eligible for the playoffs? *Is there any difficulty in manually changing what conference the team is in while using BBCF? *Is there any way BBCF will allow you to force teams into a "relegation game"? For example, I would prefer to do a post-season game during conference championship week between the SEC East's worst team and the SEC West's worst team, with the loser getting demoted to the Sunbelt the next season. If anybody has any general recommendations on how I might go about making this idea into reality, I would greatly appreciate it!
