Another thing about season finales is that your roster will expect to be able to work it, and wrestlers will be irked if they get left off of it.

Howdy gang! Figured I'd do an update and possibly break some hearts. Thunderverse won't release in 2020, looking like it'll be some form of a release in the first quarter of 2021.
India is a sticking point currently which sorta killed some of my drive to work on this so for the time being, the first release you'll see will be India excluded. We have the ideas in place for India so it will come down the line but rather than wait for all the pieces to fall into place, we're going to work on the "core" version and then release India as a DLC type update.
I'll take what I can get! Looking forward to it when it comes out!

I prefer a lean, agile roster to a bloated, over-crowded one. I can always hire more, but firing can be expensive and generate ill will, so I try to be very selective in my hiring.
-
I had Aaron Andrews go into politics a day before his contract with me was to begin. It was very frustrating. Still, I enjoy the challenge that emerges when you lose a top star like that. Though a month's notice would have been appreciated.

At what point do workers retire from injury? How low does their health stat have to go before they retire? I ask because Fuyuko Higa just came back from an Achilles tear and now her leg health is 65. Should I be concerned?
Also, does having lower health affect in-ring performance?

Well three years in, what a difference that time makes. Half way through 2023 now, and we're doing great! We've risen to Medium, and I managed to lock down my roster to exclusive written deals, so no more poaching. I also managed to snag Mikey Lau and Jefferson Stardust from SWF, and they've been doing big business for me ever since.
I have also figured out what to do with television, FINALLY. I use TV matches to determine who gets placement on the event cards. I have a sort of bracket system that I've created, where winners remain where they are on the bracket while losers are sent to the bottom.
It makes booking really quick and easy. I can do a TV show in under 5 minutes now.
Likewise, my PPV events are similar. I have three title matches (Coastal Zone, Xtreme and Tag Team) and then four singles matches. The winners of those matches go on to compete for the titles at the next event, with the highest match rating facing the champion, the second highest facing the Xtreme champion and the remaining two facing the tag team champions.
I basically abolished the tag team division in the process. But I'm rubbish at booking tag teams so at least this way the workers are being used.

First poachings, now a retirement. I'm losing 40-year-old Melody to retirement in three months, alas. Time to make good use of her remaining time!

I love the challenge of having stars signed from me and having to figure out what I'm going to do from there.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Yeah, it does force you to be creative. And some wrestlers have certainly benefitted from getting a push they otherwise wouldn't have gotten, such as Hugh de Aske and the tag team of Heartbreaker and Mr. Lucha III, who until recently were largely relegated to job fodder just because there wasn't any room to push them. </p><p> </p><p> Some of it also serves me right. I signed a lot of big names (Atom Smasher, Greg Black, James Prudence) when they became available and I should have expected that the predatory hiring system wouldn't let that kind of talent stay on the indies for long.</p>

I'm a year into a CZCW save, and part of the "joy" of playing an indy fed is having the top of your card mercilessly poached by SWF, CWA and TCW. So far I've lost Frankie Perez and Al Coleman from the original roster, plus Kate Lilly, Atom Smasher and Greg Black. Most frustrating of all was having James Diaz, whom I had built up from nothing to be a star, get poached by TCW.
-
This is so exciting! I can't wait for it to drop!
-
Did a restart on my QAW save. Besides signing a handful of low level workers (Reese & Wells, Black Diamond, Joy Ryder and DupliKate), I'm sticking with the main roster as it exists at game start.
Ran Star Show and had a really good time with it. Commissioner Bomb is reliable for 60+ rated entertainment segments so I've been using her rather heavily.
-
I just started a QAW game and feel pretty good about it. Still trying to wrap my head around stables, though. I always struggle to use them.
I avoided doing my usual mass hiring and restricted myself to just three signings: Lilly & Rose and Electric Dreamer, all of whom seem like a great fit for the product. I always sign Dreamer because she has the Bailey factor and she moves merchandise like crazy. She'll probably be Shockwave champion before too long.
-
Ambassador's Club is a must-sign for me. I push them hard as both a team and as solo acts.
-
Glad to see some life in this thread, and in the mod itself. I'm eagerly awaiting its release. In the meantime, TEW2020 has been sitting collecting dust.
-
My biggest struggle right now is deciding who to play as for my first Thunderverse Diamond 2020 game. Do I go with my usual AWF? Or maybe give HCG a go.
-
Anyone play MHero's conversion yet? How's it play?
-
I want to see AWF overtake PWI as No. 1 company in the world. Shane Allman's fall is overdue.
It'd be neat to see Casey Skym start his own wrestling company, though I'm not sure what niche that would fill that isn't already covered elsewhere. Maybe a Lucha Underground-style fed? The setting absolutely needs one of those, and I did that in one of my games.
-
Can you use distraction finishes? I thought the fans hated dubious finishes? I never tried because it adds nothing if you don't use storylines.
Has anyone else had their workers poached? I've been lucky so far as USPW only came for the road agent (Dylan), who is easily replaced.
Marvel Malloy got poached by Burning Hammer in my game. Not Storm Spillane, mind you, *just* Marvel Malloy. Very frustrating.
-
How long are you having your matches be?
-
I'm playing CZCW until the Thunderverse comes out.
-
So something that CZCW is lacking is stables. Who do you think should be in a stable in CZCW?
Masked Cougar, El Jaguar and Tiger Salvaje Jr seem like a natural fit for a unit.
-
Can I just reiterate how excited I am for this to come to TEW2020? Because I am *really* excited for this to come to TEW2020.
-
So how do you book a company like CZCW, where there's no storylines. I'd love to hear what people are doing with them.
