1. Well, speaking from the perspective of 47, I have to say I feel exactly the opposite when it comes to Omega. I've never enjoyed and appreciated him more than I do in AEW. I can finally see the guy in the moment in an atmosphere where he belongs and what he's doing is actually my business. When he used to visit Ring of Honor, he used to drive me nuts because it was just about all Bullet Club related. Which meant it felt like it had nothing to do with me and just made me wish they'd show an undercard match instead. Bullet Club was a New Japan thing to me for most of that period and as such felt like it really was none of my business. I couldn't relate and trying to do the homework to get clued in required more effort than felt sensible for a wrestling show. Now that he's somewhere that he's a key piece and easily followed, I have much more room to invest in the guy. And while some of his stuff is quirky and confusing, I get that's his nature and can just freely go with it. Rather than rack my brain trying to get some interloper whose relevance is remote to me to start with.

Darn, I'm younger than you! :D

From what I've seen, I can't get behind Omega -in ring-. Just does some good looking spots, nothing special. If he'd won every match in AEW, I'd have said AEW found its John Cena.

  2. From YouTube and some recent TV showing in Belgium (we got WWE about a year now)...Luke Harper is, I think, one of the best big workers you got. He looks legit, I think he can work better (face and heel) than Stroman.

Not sold on the Fiend/Bray stuff...seems like Undertaker v2 over and over again. Never liked Undertaker (undead, can't be beaten, etc from the start....I'll give him props for being a great worker back then. Bit like Cena).

The Women's division at this stage looks gold for WWE...they should be pushed to main eventing PPV's. Get a great face, give her a year (or 2) run, establish heels....etc, what they did for Cena, Orton, etc...would be excellent. The talent is there.

  4. I haven't read any graphic novels in a long while but the other day I bought Batman Volume 1: The Court of Owls (The New 52), Batman Volume 2: The City of Owls (The New 52), Batman Volume 3: Death of the Family (The New 52), Batman Volume 4: Zero Year - Secret City (The New 52) and Batman Volume 5: Zero Year - Dark City (The New 52). Haven't read any of them yet but intend on getting some time over the weekend to sit down and get through a couple of them at least.

    Thanks for the intel! :D

If the ambition is to run against WWE, you got Moxley, Jericho and (perhaps) Rhodes.

The tag division looks strong but than again, main-stream....you got the New Day, you got Styles & The Club....the Bucks looks something like The Hardy's 0.5.

From the footage, AEW have some talent of their own...

  6. Let’s put it in TEW terms Jericho is at least a B- in popularity maybe even closer to B but still. Cody would be about a solid C and Omega, The Bucks, Page are all D. Maybe D+ for the Bucks but that’s it because they’re pretty much unknowns past the IWC. Last year Jericho wasn’t even a real part of the All In he just did a run in he wasn’t advertised so even a year ago he was head shoulders knees and toes above 90% of the roster.

My 0.02 (from Belgium, where we only get a 1 hour version of Raw/Smackdown at best)...Jericho looks terribly out of shape (compared to how in shape he used to be) but can still deliver what is required. Age will catch up...with a wonky back weight will get to you...but he can still make a match against anyone.

I'm not known with the work of most of these...what I've seen from Omega has been a psychology-lacking spotfest. Young Bucks look like a second division Hardy-team (no harm meant at that).

Looking at what AEW thinks as their segment (being on TV, going against WWE) they can use all of Jericho, Moxley and Rhodes they can get.

  7. Question for the European gamers out there. Have seen some Tour de France games on PS Now when trying to decide what I want to play next. So I was wondering what y'all thought of these games and how they played. Are they management sims or are you riding the race yourself? Would they be worth the time for someone who doesn't really know the sport or particularly care to watch it? Been curious how such a game would work but haven't been able to talk myself into trying them yet. Should I look into changing that? I haven't done any sports games on Now since getting it in January so it owuld be something different at the very least.

I got the Pro Cycling Manager from last year. Has improved in the last couple of years but set-up is still the same. You do have a career mode now as well (<> management only mode). Replace the default DB with a better one (PCM Daily I think) and you got a decent (but still buggy) game.

  8. Getting a top 20 movie list seems impossible for me....there's a few I keep returning to and that I think are top of the list. One of them is always The Usual Suspects....the cast is just phenomenal and the plot has been copied by a lot of movies. I'm also a fan of some of the early M. Night Shyamalan movies....thought they had more new stuff in them than a given Tarantino-movie.

Stone made some top quality movies as well (his Vietnam-trilogy was great, JFK, Nixon, Any Given Sunday....). Add Ridley Scott and James Cameron to that...

Star Wars 1-3 (the second trilogy) all qualify as overrated to me. Gave them one look, and that was it.

  9. Gloomhaven is on my list. I hear the digital version releases this week. When setup is eliminated, I'm sure it's just fine. I'll buy it eventually, as there only seem to be a couple of classes at first.

Pathfinder plays exactly the same as the boardgame. I bought a tablet initially especially for that, but got it double on Steam now. Finished it so I'm not really playing it again, though harder difficulties are an option.

LotR cardgame on Steam is also quite fun for a while, but gets boring very fast.

But as mentioned before time is the real issue here. So many games nowadays...

Time is always an issue. Up to a few years ago we managed to play a Ad&D session every month...lasted a year or two.
