    So Don Destiny, did you do us proud?

     

    After catching all the other wolves, he got to the end and showed who the last wolf was, and an MU scrub mislynched Destiny anyway. Still was a very impressive effort.

    In other mafia related news, I will be representing GDS in the Mafia Championships next week if you are interested in cheering me on from the sidelines. Who would have thought I would be representing GDS at the Mafia Championships fifteen years ago when I started playing?

    I'm banned from MU for a few more months because I made fun of an anime avatar. (its that kind of place and attracts those kinds of people).

     

    That said, if you are serious about doing well, I know that the judges tend to like town players that get nightkilled early, as it shows that scum perceived you as a threat. So, if you are town the game may favor you as I think the set up this year is supposedly town sided. If you rand scum then, hey, stay out of the POE. Good luck. :cool:

    We have moved the discord stuff over to the main GDS discord. Things seem to have slowed down at the moment but hopefully Darr wil be feeling better and ready to run her game soon. You should sign up!

    And I posted my review just to let GDS peeps know that while there are good players at MU, there are some terrible ones as well and really there is no reason to give the opinions of those folks any credence whatsoever.

    So, how's it going at MU? ;)

     

    In fairness to the GDS mafia community. The game at the other place featured a supposed "good player" trying to enlist the help of a Mafia member and the SK to mislynch the town Cop, resulting in that "good player" having to out themselves as bullet proof D1 thereby negating the utility of the role. Once that moron was replaced the new chump didnt comprehend the reason that they were left alive for final three was that their biggest Scum read was town.

     

    DUH

     

    Anyway was nice to follow along, sorry I couldnt play in time, now it looks like GDS is done there and the discord is closed too? Ah well. GGs all.

    Just wanted to thank you for being cool. I know you mainly from Mafia back in the day and wanted to tell you you had the best "scramble" of any of the players back then. Was always fun to watch you talk yourself out of being lynched.

     

    GG's and (if you are still thinking about running some mafia games Outlaw has something going on at another site now if you are interested).

    Invitation to the Mafia Championships Season 6

    If you read, this started on a week that I redded. Meaning I couldn't play. But they played it that week anyway to accommodate several others. I chose to play thinking I would have enough time to keep up, but that didn't turn out to be the case. If I had lasted the day phase my time would have opened up and I would have had more time to devote to the game. But alas, my buddy Apoc helped the wolves out by tunneling on me. Hammer vote by the guy that I was going to check. A wolf by the way, and the player voted Champion.

     

    I have played this format 7 times. Final was the only game I didn't win and only one of two that I didn't survive to the end. 6-1. FTR. 3-1 as town. 3-0 as a wolf.

    The town was... surprisingly inept. Once you claimed either they could wait and test you or scum would kill you, no need to rush your lynch. I think the weight of all those awards Beck and Apoc had did you in.

     

    Although, the way I read it, when you did that fast vote switch it looked so bad I thought, maybe he's trying to get himself lynched? Between that and Beck turning Apoc against you, and the town being not good at that point, you were sacrificed.

     

    That's how I read it. BTW will mafia be starting back up here again?

    Also, now I have to wonder what ham is a euphemism for... :D

    Fine with this but tbh Anti seems more squirming than coming from a place of truthfulness. Like grasping at straws.

     

    It seems to be the case, I just thought that maybe it would be more beneficial for the town not to rush a vote, since it is still early, and there are still some of us that haven't posted since the write-up. I just want to give them time to speak I guess.

     

    No I am running late for work as it is, but I wanted to tell my side quickly before everyone just jumped on the vote train. Give me ten hours (it is a pain posting from the job site via my phone) and I can share more thoughts if that is alright.

    Without quoting from your role PM obviously do you know how you kill people? Is there any flavour that mentions a gun?

     

     

     

    I'll admit that when Arrows asked people not to target him during the night phase it raised some eyebrows. I also remember you worrying about things last night though and not wanting to talk much...

     

    A manner consistent with shots fired, there is a paraphrase for ya :D

     

    And yes I hated it when I saw my name even come up. To wit I don't know if I got bus drove or even maybe that that bodyguard is an assumption and its a roleblocker targetting me. Could be Arrows is town, I don't know. I thought he was scum then, I think he's scum now, but all that night talk probably just screwed everything up. Who knows

    That would imply a botched VIG attempt and a botched mafia kill...seems a stretch to me. Unless you're claiming you vigged the scum roleblocker by blind luck/busdriver.

     

    Its entirely possible, but I dont know, I did (along with others) mention a possible Busdriver. If I killed EP I got no result notice for it. I assume thats just Outlaw changing the guns to protect the real hitman, but who knows, my PM doesn't specify a gun caliber lol

    So you wanted to vig Arrows?

     

    Yes, would be a gamble for me because if he was town I'd have to leave out of guilt, but after Derek I wanted to prove myself and can see no one scummier this game than arrows. Plus, if he is in fact town, well, I do have other things going on in the real world... I gave it a shot. Unfortunately i failed.

     

    Fortunately now I dont just think he's scum, i think he's probably the Don.

    So you are the Vig, and the mafia killed their own roleblocker? Is that what we're going with here?

     

    And I, as the Don as you seem to think, magically knew that you targeted me? What would I even be targeting you for, as the Don? Certainly not a kill. There's enough of those to account for everyone.

     

    So I've got a built in Don Bodyguard, a night ability of my own, and a way to know who targets me. Gotcha.

     

    Know you got a group to do all that for you :D

     

     

    Town Aligned Vigilante

     

    I dont know what other people did, didnt you mention a busdiver, or was that someone else? I figured you, MLT, and Archer. Started with you first since you were like 'don't target me ill be dead anyway :sigh: ::stares at a lily pad floating on a lake::

     

    The write up doesnt show you targeting me, it shows me targeting you.

     

    He eased up to the side of the house and looked in the window. He could tell no one was home. “Damnit, where the hell are you.”

    Suddenly from the dark he heard a voice, “Can I help you?”

    “Nope I don’t think so.” As he reached under his arm.

    All of a sudden out of the dark from the side of the two men another man threw his body into them. Knocking all three to the ground. The one man got up and ran off.

    “Are you ok?”

    “Well, well, well I am now. You want a beer?”

    “Sure.”

    With that they went inside the house. Not seeing the man sneak out from the darkness and pick up something and then disappear back into the shadows.

    I don't remember there being a rule against posting at night but with some people not being around much during the day and me being around I was trying to encourage a bit of discussion. No harm done, Anti. I'm off to bed now will be at work tomorrow but will try to read the write-up and check in during the morning.

    It's not that, we have had games where people said what they wanted to do and scum used it to win. We have had games ahem where scum questioned people at night to help them figure out what to do. So, just know it may help scum win and can make some people look scummy if they do it. Yeah there's no rule, just possible bad repercussions we've seen before.
