  2. I don't say this often, but Greg Maddox is a very attractive man. I can see the girls going nuts for him.

That said... I kept expecting punk to run in with a chair and blast Maddox with it for the DQ contract-win or something. That fact that nothing happened was somewhat disappointing... and makes me wonder where they're going with this. One of those "He doesn't have a WWE contract... but he is now an employee of Paul Heyman, Inc, and as such, will be accompanying me at all times" is probably where I'd go with it right now.

Also, yay Miz face turn. Gotta love the old, "Look, I don't like you. You don't like me. but we both -hate- that other guy, so let us work together."

  3. So, watched TNA for the first time in forever last night. Had the boy watch it with me. He got slightly confused ("If it's a different company, why are they talking about AJ?") but in the end, he said "I like the other guys better... but the fights on this one were more fun."

Pretty much sums up how I feel about it. TNA has better action, WWE has better characters. But I gotta say... the Dudleys as singles stars are far better than they have any right to be. And I like what I see from Bobby Roode and Hernandez (Yes, it's been a -long- time since I last watched TNA).

  4. I really hope they go 'The Full Spinal' and get 3MB a new drummer every week. Doubtful, tho.

And is it bad that, as soon as they announced Team Punk vs Team Foley, I said "Lesse... Foley will take Kofi, Ryback, Orton, and either Hell No or Cara and Rey. Punk will take Del Rio, Miz, and either Rhodes Scholars or Prime Time Players."

When you can make ten people almost completely predictable... you need to try a bit harder.

... which makes Team Sheamus vs Team Big Show... Sheamus, Rey, Cara, Gabriel, and Swagger vs Big Show, Cesaro, Prime Time Players, and Barrett, right?

  5. Getting some nice, long matches tonight. Sure, the Divas match will be a five-minute quickie between main events... but the rest have been getting good time. Even Cesaro/Gabriel and the Random Tag Match.

Also, loving the chemistry the announcers have been getting.

JR: "Getting Mysterio to slow down is like trying to pour smoke through a keyhole."

    *beat*

Cole: "Who would want to pour smoke through a keyhole?"

    JR: "Well, a Texan..."

You could hear JBL biting his lip to not laugh at that one...

  6. WM 29 poster revealed (unless it's fake of course):

    http://t3.gstatic.com/images?q=tbn:ANd9GcRjzCefcU_EKPNfCRHdiAxMtVEUVats7R_mbq1_X2u40YEb6ZAH

So how about this WM 29 lineup:

Cena vs Rock vs Lesnar - WWE Title

Ryback vs Sheamus vs Orton - Heavyweight Title

    Punk vs Austin

    Ziggler vs Undertaker

You're assuming the three guys on the poster are going to be fighting each other. Could just be they put their three biggest names on the poster.

So it's still possible to see Punk/Rock, Cena/Ziggler, Lesnar/Ryback... and I still say they'll give Taker an easy match this year. Ryder, probably.

  7. Personally, I think Rock/Punk is Wrestlemania-worthy. The Rumble doesn't need a big star-power match -- it has the Rumble.

I, for one, would love to see Rock/Ryback at the Rumble (R vs R at the RR). Ryback beating Rock when even Cena couldn't would be great... and Rocky would probably sell the Shellshock like nobody's business.

Of course, you could go with Rock beating Ryback (going by the 'there's no shame in losing to the Rock' theory), and Punk winning the Rumble to set up Punk/Rock. Heh. Punk Rock. I get it now. Someone needs a manager named Blues and a valet named Country...

    ... where was I...

  8. Dolph should audition for the US Gymnasts team for the next Olympics.

I've always said that Pro Wrestling should be in the Olympics. Just treat it like Pairs Figure-Skating. Each pair of wrestlers gets, say, five minutes to do a match that must incorporate at least one suplex, one top-rope move, and a thirty-second sequence of chain wrestling... after the match, judges grade it on a scale of 1 to 10, losing points for each botched move, but you can get more points for using more complex moves, etc.

    I think it could work.

  9. Quite simply, part of wrestling is the wrestlers trying to make people feel like it's not planned ahead of time. If you know Guy A wins the match, then every time Guy B goes for a pin... even if it's after three finishers and a run-in... you know it's not going to happen. It takes away from the drama.

How many times have you watched a PPV match, and been pretty sure Guy A was going to win, when Guy B kicks out of his finisher and makes a comeback? You're not so sure Guy A is going to win anymore. You're more interested in what happens next. But if you know the outcome already, you're not as involved.
