Hopefully UFC 235 will be an inspiration haha
At this point the best thing any of us can do is update our own data on at least a monthly basis if not weekly. Missing even two months time is a nearly insurmountable slog for mod makers with this game if they have anything else going on. At least this way if enough people are doing it we can piece together a proper update or just not need one. :/

You’d have to try real hard to go broke. It’s more about progressing the game and booking more fights.</p><p> </p><p> Regardless- I wouldn’t be able to book those fights even if it was Ppv, unless I’m missing something.</p>

Isn't PPV $ influenced by the rating of the previous show? If your show that did big $ was immediately following that 87%, I bet that was it.
-
The vast majority of the first UFC on ESPN+ card is impossible to book with the current popularity settings (and I have matchmaking skill at 10). Just a heads up.
-
What are the most realistic settings for a modern day real world game in terms of injury frequency, training effectiveness, relationship generation etc.? I haven't played WMMA5 deep enough to get a sense of this.

He's going up to chase the guy who took his title, a fight that he immediately wanted to rematch anyway and never got the chance. Aldo wins, you now have an immediate LW contender. Aldo loses, then he's not in a position to fight for the title at FW for a bit. Aldo - at least in real life - is waaaaaay too big for 135 at this point in his career. He looks like death cutting to FW as it is.</p>

<p>How is pay-per-view intended to work with the game mechanics? As far as I can tell, it cannot effectively replicate how pay-per-view actually works. In real life, there are several pay-per-view broadcasters available in large markets that all carry a particular event. In WMMA, you cannot have multiple broadcasters in one area.</p><p> </p><p>
Every real world mod I've seen has a mix of distributors and broadcasters which are not the same thing. If it's intended to be distributors and not broadcasters, then the game mechanics make a bit more sense but then the mechanics for range stop making sense as this would be more impacted by which broadcasters carry it.</p><p> </p><p>
The only real solution I can see is making one broadcaster per area for each range designed to represent all of the broadcasters.</p>

Any chance we get an update soon? Just got the game and I’d really like to get going on a current UFC.

While I agree with everything you said I also have to say that I hope that any future WMMA games continue to be more in depth to improve game quality. The game has room for improvement and instead of being simplified to increase interest I think that the mod maker should be the only thing that's made easy or simplified and that the game itself continues to grow.
That wasn't a criticism of the game or an expression of my desire to simplify it. That's just a fact about mod making, and yeah, there's no way to simplify the mod maker more than it is.

WMMA1 had very frequent mods. WMMA2 was more complicated so mods were less frequent. As a result, a lot of people who play RW mods only stopped playing the game entirely. WMMA3 was even more complicated, and I think the effect has been just as bad. I'd be willing to bet a lot of WMMA1 fans don't even know there is a WMMA3 out, or just don't care. The better and more comprehensive the game gets, the more work it's going to take to get mods out.

It's a smaller niche. TEW has a much longer history, dating back to the EW games with EWR having a particularly huge community. Also, it's important to note that at last check, there may be a lot of scenarios out there but most of them are awful.
I think with WMMA, you have a smaller fan base and the vast majority of those are UFC/Strikeforce fans, maybe a decent number follow Bellator. In order to create a solid MMA mod, you kind of have to follow everything. Getting those stats right seems much more important in regards to MMA than pro wrestling. Also, in TEW you don't have to update records, fight histories, and momentum for every wrestler on an update-to-update basis.
-
I'd be interested, but the time it'd take to come up with anything near what TOS or MW have done from scratch would be enormous and WMMA4 would likely be out before I reached a point I deemed acceptable. I've toyed with the idea a few times, but modding this game is a *lot* of work. I feel like if you really want to get a solid update going you're never going to have time to actually play outside of testing. I'm also kind of anti-team in this instance. You end up with too many guys stepping on each others' toes and even if they don't, stats will be out of whack simply because they're coming from different people. I'm too much of a perfectionist.
-
Mine tend to do alright with fan feedback. I mean, I don't deny fighter popularity needs work (neither does Tag, he's said numerous times it's a work in progress), but still.
-
I work at crack speeds, dawg.
Right.
-
You can always go through the update the UFC (or whatever company you wish to play as) roster yourself. It's really not that hard, and shouldn't take longer than 15 minutes depending on whether or not you want to also tweak some stats and all that. =P
I do that already, but it takes much longer than 15 minutes and it's nowhere near as good as a complete update. Moving people around, adjusting win/loss, adding fight histories, and adjusting stats alone takes awhile. Then you throw in adding new people who often times I haven't seen before, adjusting contracts/popularity if you want to be ambitious. I do not envy Tag doing all that and more alone.
-
He said a couple of weeks ago he hoped to get something out soon. I gotta level with ya here, Tag, I have three days off and no AC. Getting my new UFC game going sure would help me forget about the heat.

Wanderlei in his prime was notorious for taking big shots and popping right back up like a bobo doll. Leben definitely deserves a great chin, his is one of the best in MMA.
-
No way, PRIDE never die!
I know you're being facetious, but I don't even think Wanderlei in his prime deserved that kind of a chin. Tag must have been listening to Sandstorm when he did those stats. Prime Wanderlei to me should have very high stun recovery, above average chin. Now I'd say they should both be average or worse.
-
As sad as it is to admit, i'm afraid Wanderlei's chin needs a significant downgrade (if it hasn't been done already). Currently it is at 98% & unfortunately that's no longer the case.
Wow. Never noticed that. That's a big one. His recovery is probably too high as well.
-
Yeah, I assumed after that rush of events was done but before 133 we'd get an update and Tag has seemed to indicate as much. Can't wait!
-
I've fantasy booked as far into the future as I can without getting too hypothetical (winner of the winner of versus type fights). I cannot wait for the next update! I fear I mentioned too many things to work on!
-
When is the planned release for the next data?
There is never really a "planned release" for MW.
-
The payscales need revisiting but that's not something that's going to get fixed quickly. Everyone under Zuffa contract should have 100% medical coverage now though.
