  1. It went up lolz. Seriously guys if you don't like the direction they are giving you right now stop watching/spending money on them and/or also start supporting the competition be it ROH, CHIKARA, PWG, CZW your local indy, extreme rising, DGUSA/Evolve, international companies or current TNA.

Good point. I watch Raw myself, but haven't spent a dollar on WWE in over four years. It's really helped the product I think :p

  2. I've never understood the "Thown in our face" comments. What does that mean? That it's much more obvious now? Is it more literal? With me, the only thing that I can see different is that wrestlers in the last 30 years have openly admitted to it, rather then pretending. However, the rest of the world already knew... I use 100 years because around that time it had a huge slump because it was all over the papers about it being "fake". Ever since, most of the civilized public has known of it's pre-determined match's just from simply watching. Vince said in an interview he just didn't want to belittle his audience with that pretense, as he knows everyone is smarter then that. Yes, you will find here and there people who swear "this" or "that" was real, but for the most part, wrestling has been "entertainment" and not thought of as an actual sport for 100 years (actually longer).

Look, I'm sorry you don't like the term, but the feeling still stands. NWO was great because it felt "real". People loved Austin vs McMahon because of the real life feelings toward bosses. It honestly wasn't long ago that heels we're being run out of buildings by crazy fans with knives. Saying that the large part of wrestling's audience pre-1980, found the wrestling to be fake... Is a bit silly.

I admit. I don't want the old southern style back, but I do watch most of my wrestling from outside of the country, because at least the sports aspect of wrestling is whats important. I'd rather watch something where the marque word is wrestling. I know WWE isn't ever going to do that again, but I do take offense to you saying Vince was doing anything BUT mocking his fans intellegence the past 30 years. Especially to the fans that take any real interest in the buisness past his company.

  3. I will probably watch every show but the Russell Brand show. I cannot stand that dude.

I do love Wilfred and Louie two very funny shows. If you get the chance, check out the Australian version of Wilfred it is very funny and is a bit more darker than our version.

Yeah, for me Russel Brand is a guy I can only sit through for small time periods, but I'm willing to give it a chance. He has his moments.

I watched some of the Australian version, but the video was really bad quality. On a side note, FX has a new show in January with Australian comedian Jim Jefferies, called Legit ( I think). I think may take the cake as my favorite show.

  4. I do not own the latest version, I buy it every other year.

Oh, my bad BHK. I forgot the way sports game naming works for some reason. I do the same, but on the opposite schedule as you apparently. The new random historical draft order thing is pretty sweet. It was worth the purchase this year for me, hopefully it'll have something awesome next year too

  5. I was playing Out of the Park Baseball 12 today and a pitcher with an interesting name popped up in my draft. Kenny Powers!

I must admit to laughing over that one.

If I know anything about Kenny Powers, is that he's going to be awesome for the first year or two, but you should be shopping him around before too long :p

Out of interest, have you come across any storyline yet, that you have input on? My star 3rd basemen has had a charity game every winter for a couple years, but other then that... Nothing.

  6. Thursday is going to be awesome.

Russel Brand, Louie, Wilfred and the possibility of either an awesome show, or a train wreck in the new Charlie Sheen show.

The only channel I tend to watch is FX. This line up is already half proven, and I think at least one of the two others should be good too.

  7. I live in Rhode Island and I was thinking about going up there just to see if they actually try to enforce it. First I had to look it up on a map to see where it is, for some reason I thought it was on the Springfield side of the state (I really do not know of anything west of Springfield, I guess I know nothing in the Eastern part of the state as well). Turns out I was wrong about that...:o

I look forward to the first lawsuit. After all those years with Lenny Bruce, do you really think Middleborogh has a chance against a real lawsuit? It's going to be amazing!

Yeah, I have no intention of driving down there. It looks like a nice place, but I'm not sure if its worth the ride just to end up waiting to find someone getting fined.

  8. The main reason why you will never see me in Middleborough, Massachusetts. They have made swearing in public a finable offense in Middleborouch, Massachusetts.

I am not sure how they are going to enforce this law, because the first person that is fined for it will go straight to the ACLU and have them fight it.

Saw this on the news recently. This is so not going to work.

Drive by shoutings. People random words instead. What word is in fact, a curse word?

If I was ten years younger and more of a jerk, I'd be going on a short fieldtrip. Honestly though, I just want to go there and follow the police around. If I know anything about Mass police, is that they curse like ... well, anyone else around here.

  9. I never really got this line of thinking when it comes to fans. The same thing happens here as well, the fans are loyal to the Red Sox no matter how good or bad they are doing.

However, if the Celtics, Patriots, or Bruins suck for an extended period of time nobody gives a crap about them. The one that really bothers me is Patriots fans because they are the least loyal of the lot. Before Bledsoe and Parcells got there nobody gave a crap about the team. The minute they started winning they all of a sudden had all of these loyal diehard fans.

Funny when they were 1-15 none of these diehard fans went to any games. I guess it is easy to be a diehard fan when the team is winning.

What I do not get is all of these people are from the same fan base. The same people who stick by the Red Sox no matter what are the same people who will only cheer on the other Boston area team if they are winning.

Back onto the topic, I did not bother to watch the Finals last night. I did not want to see him win a championship. I actually have no problems with him joining the Heat and making a super team (After all I am a Yankees fan so I could hardly begrudge a group of superstars coming together on one team.), what turned me against LeBron was the whole decision thing.

I miss it when the Celtics we're bad. The tickets were just so easy to come by! That, and I miss the guys we had just before the big three. Gerald Green, Mike James, Scal, Delonte West... They may not have been the best, but they we're really entertaining!

Then again.. I might be the odd one out on this occasion.

On LeBron: Although my opinion doesn't account for much, he really impressed me this off season. He did very well. He finally founds his groove, and people took notice. He's not a 3-Point shooter, and he doesn't need to be. He's a power guard. Or whatever they want to call it. I wanted any other team to win but Miami, but in the end I'm happy he won it. He deserved it.

  10. To be perfectly honest, that casts you in a worse light than the comic book store in my opinion. :p If you order something on a pay-on-collection basis the least you can do is cancel the order if you no longer want it.

To be fair though, I never heard from them once in those 9 months. If I had, I would have gladly paid for them. But to be honest, I completely forgot about it. They apparently call everyone once a week, and didn't have me on the call list.

I guess its partially my fault for not checking up on them, but really I was a bit miffed because I felt like it was there loss and not mine.

Alas, I went down there yesterday and talked to them. Somehow they talked me into purchasing some stuff I never even asked for. I'm a bit of a pushover, it's quite annoying :o

On Rodney King: He never cleaned up his life. He had a great deal of support from a wide range of people, and he continued to get into trouble. I have nothing to say about the earlier incident where he got beat, because I was too young to care at the time. All I can say is he lived a wasted life, and its sad really.

  11. http://news.yahoo.com/blogs/lookout/rodney-king-dead-swimming-pool-160339712.html

So this is all over Facebook. I'm honestly sick of hearing about it, but figured those who don't go to Facebook, or Yahoo news may not know this, but then again I doubt many actually care..

    Enjoy...:p

Literally made a joke about him last night. Jeeze, my bad sense of humor has terrible powers! :p

Ehh, its too bad to see anyone die... however there isn't anything postive I can think of to say of him.

  12. You know what grinds my gears? I was away from the boards for a week and in that week several people actually came to the conclusion (or stopped being so timid to say something) about Remi's apparent super life. For years people fell all over themselves because he'd say something on here and everyone would crush hard for the guy (because you know if you say it on a message board with less than zero proof it MUST be true). So it grinds me gears I was not around for that. Although sometime soon he'll be back around he's spending time with his pro football playing and aparently soul singing father while he hacks the DOD while writing novels while playing nine million mmo's at once all while him and his friends chart every play in the NFL.

So yeah that grinds my gears that laptops that seemingly fall apart shortly after purchase.

    Sorry to double post but,

Damn! I missed it too! And I was here! Why didn't I check this thread before today!

  13. Last year in September I believe it was, after the new 52 in DC comics came out I made an order at a local comic book shop. They were out of the first issue of Batman, and I told them I'd really like it and and I'd set myself up with the program they had for some of the new series.

I originally went in the store because I knew their buisness was bad, and I had just gotten a pretty ok job. So, I was doing less as in interest of ever going to the shop, as much as giving them an extra twenty or so dollars a month to try and help keep it going. I would give more, but its what I had.

The girl I was talking to at the store was nice and helpful. She signed me up, told me she would see if she could get the comic for me, and that they would call when it came in. I was pretty happy I could do something to help the community with my meager paycheck.

Its now June 16, 2012 and they called and left me a message in a rather nasty tone of why I haven't picked up anything in the past two months. It took me aback because all of this started what seems like a lifetime ago. I've since lost said job, I've unfortintly come down with a "physical condition", and I really don't go out as much as I should. So getting reemed like I was a kid over an order I barely remembered making really ticked me off.

No real end to the story yet, because I'm trying to think of how to politely tell them that they're poop out of luck, unless they're willing to take ten bucks and a smile :p

  14. <p>As a Celtic fan, I'm looking forward to the big three being over. They've aged too much. Even if they somehow squeak out a championship, I still hope Danny lets the old dogs lay. Rondo diserves a chance to run with a team that can run with him.</p><p> </p><p>

Man, I miss Perkins defensively and as a big man down low. Where did he go again? Oh yeah, thats right. To the best young team in the league, who'll hopefully finish what we can't even start.<img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p>

Honestly though, I can't root against Duncan. Not even if its Timmy vs Boston. I'll still root for the big man.</p>

  15. I've come to he conclusion that Netflix gives very bad suggestions.

I started watching Switched at Birth, and I have Being human on Insta queue.

One of the suggested movies was called Bedways? Has anyone heard of this. After doing some looking online I doubt it's something I'd be interested in. Well quite frankly I won't be interested in it, but maybe some of you guys will.

    Have fun with it.

Yep, it does that. But give it time, on occasion it gives you a gem. That one however, is a real doozy.

  16.

I'd take Bogut for half a season over Thabeet any day: the guy just doesn't have it, and he's making mid-level contract money to not play.

How much longer is Thabeets contract versus Boguts? My guess is Thabeet is almost out of contract.

I don't see Bogut ever being a full season player again. His ankles are just the first thing to go. His knee's will go sooner then later, with all the added stress. If Bogut stayed healthy, it would be great. I just don't see that happening.

  17. They actually keep the pick if it's in the top 7. Unfortunately, right now they have the 9th worst record in the league, so they only keep that pick if they get passed by a few other bad teams or get a lucky bounce in the lottery. But the franchise has really been a case of missed opportunities. I like Curry and I think they can build around him, and trading Monta is probably a good move since he's not sure if he's a 1 or a 2 and he can't defend either position, so he doesn't fit into this new image of Golden State as a "defensive" team. Trading for Bogut does make it seem nuts to continue paying 10 mil a year for a center that averages about 2 points per game, so the Bell amnesty was a huge mistake. Jefferson is/was another amnesty candidate, so maybe they're hoping to just grow next season and then have a bunch of cap room in 2 years when they get out of these awful pre-lockout deals. Unlike Portland, which was just giving talent away (and picking up guys that look like busts in Flynn and Thabeet), the Warriors are getting talented players, just guys that aren't worth what they're being paid.

I'd prefer pay Flynn and Thabeet because they may in fact play, over Bogut who most likely won't due to injury after injury. Plus Portland got JJ Hickson. A much better signing over Bogut in my opinion.

  18.

I mean listen to whatever you like. But am I wrong in being disappointed that you have your child referring to women in that way?

I agree with you totally. The guy is an adult, who can hopefully understand that women are not all ho's and bitches. His kid, however is not. Especially since his father is apparently a bit of a tool. I like rap, at least some of it.

I don't know why, but I'm okay when I hear 2-Pac say most things, but when I hear it from some punk kid now adays, it annoys me. Maybe because at some point or another 2-Pac made it clear his respect for his mother.

Same thing with Eminem, I understand why he "hates" his mother and ex-wife. So when he goes at them, it's somewhat (at least in his charicter), it's deserved. But, he of course goes overboard too.

It's insane that a kid would call his mother a bitch, and his father doesn't see the issue. Ironically, I can tell you from growing up around racist music, it's not a great feeling when you grow a little older and see what certain words meen. But unfortinitly as he said, and you've alluded to before, there is a difference.

I grew up and understood racism is wrong because it's pretty obvious to people. Respect for women sorta needs to come early. I was lucky in that I had a strong female role model. Pop culture shows us that racism is wrong. I think the women's movement came and left too quickly. Race took along time to work out to this point, womens equality got just a few minutes in the limelight, and currently has no good leaders from a mans point of view.

I'll stop rambling now. I guess I have veered way too far off subject.. :(

  19. I know this is not going to happen, but I think it would be great if WWE used those chants and calls , and put them into one of Taker's videos. Hell, if they are putting Taker as the underdog, and being pushed so much like a old washed up dude, why not use the disrespect he got to his favor.

To be honest, the way they're doing the storyline, the reaction he got was justified. He's been made to look like a joke versus Triple H. There has never been a real mention of him winning last year. It's just constant talk about him getting beat down so bad. Trple H and Shawn have both basically insinuated Taker has no chance. Heck, Taker himself looks awful from what we've seen. The worst thing was, up until last night, Taker himself was only bringing up the fact that he had gotten so badly beat. And I still don't remember him bringing up his win.

I heard it said recently and it explains why I'm just so annoyed by the whole storyline, how is Undertaker going in 19-0 and yet he's still the underdog?

As far as I'm concerned, if their going to try and make him into the Rocky Balboa type, they might as well use everything they can. Those chants are something that were gifted to them. I would never have expected that in a million years, but now that it's happened, hell yeah. Use that shit.

  20. RF Video is releasing ECW DVDs...

    Cactus Jack: The ECW Collection

    ECW: Raven vs Sandman

    Public Enemy in ECW

    ECW: Dreamer vs Raven

I read a review of the Raven vs Dreamer set and RF Video copyrights are slapped on everything in it, but I thought WWE bought the entire ECW library?

    Sorry to double post but

RF Video owns the right to the video, as well so to speak. Or I believe at least, what they taped they own the rights too. They have alot of ECW stuff, including all the comm. tapes and years of telivision..
