Hmmm. Hadn't really thought about it, but I have a couple of workers set to debut shortly. One of them is Scythe, freshly stolen from SWF. I'm thinking about letting him do a big, Undertaker-like entrance, and then squash a mid-carder, with Dominate, Decisive Finish notes. I'd love to be able to add a road agent note about it being his debut to juice the segment rating a bit....

Do we ever get any sort of progress report from the Performance Center? How do we know if as worker is benefiting from being there?
-
Makes perfect sense. Smaller companies today will sometimes spend the money to bring in a bigger name.

Most of the matches you mentioned aren’t the same style. They are blow off matches for programs or are matches designed to humiliate the loser (lashes, weasel suit, gets painted yellow) and aren’t a potential career defining moment (like a mask versus mask).
Mask v Mask is only career defining in Mexico. Spoiler got unmasked in Texas, and continued to work under the hood in Texas. Might have been unmasked as Spoiler more than once, also at least once as Super Destroyer. Tom Renesto unmasked himself on live TV and it didn't even kill the Assassin gimmick when Jody got back. Dick Beyer got unmasked as Dr. X in the AWA, and continued to work as Destroyer elsewhere. Bill Watts unmasked as Dr. Scarlet to get a shot at the NWA Title in St. Louis. The Irwins got unmasked as the Super Destroyers, and just switched to their Longrider gimmicks. Etc.

Yes it is, active. But... In bad momentum and bad finances.
Hmmm....what if Jim Cornette finds a money mark to buy the company and take over as booker, but remains available as talent....yeah....I can dig it.

Hair and Mask are mechanics in the game because wrestlers have an independent status for hair and mask. Loser Leaves Town can be simulated by literally releasing somebody or giving them time off. The painted yellow, chicken suit, and lashes can be simulated by following the match up with an angle.

I know they can be "simulated". I'm asking for a way to do them without "simulating". A stipulation match like that should get some sort of ratings bump, similar to the mask and hair stipulations, and you can't "simulate" that.

If you ever do something like that with a 70s-80s mod, I'd be in.

If you push whoever you want in spite of fan perception, well, then you're Vince McMahon.

Not necessarily. This game seems to draw at least two distinct types of players. Some people are less into the gaming aspects than they are fantasy booking. I do a little of both. My current TCW save is virtually unedited from the default CVerse, and I'm trying to knock off USPW for the top promotion in the world. I also have an 80s mod with a heavily edited database and an improbably loaded all star roster for pure fantasy booking. I stacked the deck...gave myself plenty of money, created a broadcaster, turned off anything I find annoying, and now I book stuff like I used to watch as a kid. Totally different approaches to playing TEW, and equally valid.

Right now we can do hair or mask matches. I'd like to add others, like maybe a loser leaves town, or wears a chicken suit, or gets painted yellow, or gets lashes, etc.

Dunno if I mentioned it, but Andrews qualified for the Hall of Immortals after the main event at Total Mayhem. Hawkins is about 65% of the way there, and Jay Cord already has about 40%.
I ran Road Riot #2 last night-it's a second monthly event I run on the 2nd Saturday. Main event was a triangle match with AA/Cord/Gauge that was rated 88. Mo/Hawkins 3 got an 85 rating, show was 88 overall. Gauge is now perceived to be a Major Star.

I don't see the point to the game if everyone can become a star.
Fine. Play the game your way. All we want is an option to do it differently. Allowing people to turn the pop cap off doesn't affect anybody else or the way they play. Let the fantasy bookers put the belt on one of the Mulkey brothers if they want.
-
And the best part of it all...coming up with tons of hero/villain identities and keeping them all as far from plagerising actual DC and Marvel. So if I can help it, no Super Kid.
Wish me luck!
Back in the 80s, Marvel had an Unlimited Class Wrestling promotion mentioned in The Thing's books. Thing was their champ. I'd be tempted to create a rocky character with a blond buzzcut and facepaint....ya know...the Man Called Thing.

And you can do that. You just have to deal with the consequences of someone not being a effective figurehead.
Because what is the point if there is no difference between Steve Austin and Brian Christopher as WWF figurehead?
The point is letting players experience the game the way they want to play it. It harms no one if somebody wants to make a lesser talent into a superstar. It's just fantasy booking, and unless someone shares the save game, no one else will ever even know. This is not a competitive game. Nothing I do in my game affects anyone else in any way, and vice versa.

I usually just assume there's an intro package between my last dark match and first event match. Sometimes I'll use one of the "Modern TV Opening" angles to set up the main or semi-main. After reading this thread, I think I'll look at some sort of video package to start some events. I like to mix things up....

Another vote in favor of having the option to turn off popularity caps. If somebody wants to put George Gulas at the figurehead of JCP, let it be.

Ouch, Wolf leaving is a huge blow to TCW in 2020 especially
I'm hoping he won't be gone too long. He seems to be snake bit in my games. In my first save, he left the business to enter politics before the first PPV. I saw that as unrecoverable, so I started my current save. By the end of July, other guys are ready to step up to the lead heel spot. I'll miss him, but if it's only a month or two, I can work around it. I think.

Of course Wolf has The Syndicate to help him out but Andrews is almost on his own except for One Many Army.

Who did you have win at Malice? how? and how did you book the World Title the next 3-4 months?

I booked several draws between them on PPV...I think the first was a regular match, then an Iron Man, then an Ultimate Submission, and finally put Andrews over in Hell in a Cell at Mayhem. Sadly, TCW fans pissed all over my Hell in a Cell, and it only got an 88 or so, for a disappointing blow off.

Can't put the belt on Hawkins because he's leaving at the end of July for a TV show, so I'm using him to put Mo over while Jay Cord steps up to feud with Andrews. Cord will get the belt, then work with Mo.....and that should get me to the end of the year, just about.

I've slowed down on my booking lately, but I added a US Title as a floating championship to put something on Mighty Mo, and I added a Trios title.

On the promoting side, I added a 2nd monthly ppv, held on the 2nd Saturday of every month. I call it TCW Road Riot, and I number the shows. The first one featured Hawkins v Mo on top and drew a 91 overall. Also added a B show, which will probably be mostly my lower card getting wins over talent I borrow from my development company.

Still stockpiling talent. Stole Scythe, Dr. Rudo, Emily McQueen and another big name I can't remember lately. Hawkins leaves the company for a tv show at the end of this month, so he's putting Mo over, and Scythe will come in to feud with Mo while Hawkins is away.

I really like the total point value approach. That gives more flexibility to run some lower card feuds to help guys get over.
-
Any idea of a tentative release date? Even a beta release?
-
I've been asking for this for a long time.
-
That would be cool.

For some reason I've had the hardest time getting Wolf Hawkins really over in TCW. I don't seem to have any problem getting anyone else I want over, but Hawkins topped out at 80 and then after a loss to Andrews sat at 75 for like a year and a half despite doing a ton of winning, and is now down to 73. He's in very highly rated angles and matches all the time, but just doesn't seem to bump up like other guys have. Anyone else seen this at all?
I'm having the same problem. Wolf is in all 5 of my top 5 highest rated matches, has only lost twice in 5 months, first in a triangle math where he did not take the pin, and then in the main event at Total Mayhem. He's got white hot momentum. And he's been stuck at 80-81 pop the whole time.

Sigh. There should be a better way than manually monitoring each worker's skill. And maybe knowing when they've gotten all the increases they are going to get, so someone else can have the slot in the PC....
