  1. I'm in December 1993 in the Peaking Tides mode.

I couldn't get the belt off Hogan one year ago so I did a screwjob with him and Flair at Tuesday in Texas. He left and went to WCW and I had Warrior go over Flair at Mania IX and become the new figurehead.

Right now, Warrior is still the champion and in an extended feud with Sid Justice, and producing terrible matches that forces me to NEVER have him in the main event. The only time he's main evented was against Flair at Mania and Michaels at KOTR 1993, so this thing isn't going well. At least we're making lots of money.

HBK is still with Sherri and is the I-C champ since he beat Bret at SummerSlam 1992. He's also Tag Champs with Diesel since beating LOD at SNME in October 1993. Razor is gaining steam, so I'm going to try to do a ladder match between Shawn and he at Mania X.

The BIG storyline has been a "Passing of the Torch" storyline with Bret and Savage. They started a friendly rivalry where Bret wanted to become the new standard bearer for the company, but Savage felt he could still go. This led to the main event of SummerSlam where Bret submitted Savage in the sharpshooter. After this Savage said that maybe Bret was the guy, but he thought they could do great things together. Savage said that he's held every title in WWF except for the tag titles. Bret accepted and he and Savage started working tag matches and started a mini-feud with Michaels and Diesel.

The ORIGINAL plan was going to be Michaels and Diesel winning the tag titles (which they did) and Bret and Savage challenging them at the December SNME, which would end with Savage turning on Bret, saying he is still the standard bearer. This would lead to Savage and Bret being the last two in the Royal Rumble, which Savage would win. Savage would then go on to defeat Warrior at WrestleMania X and then would duck Bret until they have their rematch at SummerSlam 1994 when Bret finally goes over and becomes champion.

What actually happened was Bret broke his orbital bone in late October (out for 6 months) and I was forced to turn Savage early (being the cause of the injury) and put him in a feud with Perfect for Survivor Series and December SNME. The rest of the plan can proceed as planned, maybe with Bret showing up after the Mania main event, assuming he's healed by then.

  2. I’m not sure, I’ve never tried it, but you can switch titles in angles in 2020 (i can’t remember if you could in 16) so why not switch the belt onto whoever you want and give them a major success in the process so they get a nice momentum boost?

Yeah I guess that’s a way to do it but this might be my only opportunity for a screwjob. Does anyone on the board know the requirements for getting a worker to agree to a screwjob?

Then announce a new main event to crown a new champion.</div></blockquote><p> </p><p> I mean, yeah. But this is 1992 WWF and we run a classy shop. What ingredients are necessary to convince Flair or Taker to take part in the screwjob?</p>

I do think he had gone a bit stale and possibly hit 'time decline'<p> </p><p> im just autobooking through the game and in December 1992 just able to get creative control off hogan.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> Yeah, I didn't realize he had creative control until I tried to get him to lose to Undertaker at Survivor Series 1992. I had him win with interference and hopefully will renegotiate him without creative control so Taker can get the belt at 1993 Royal Rumble.</p>
  5. <p>I'm currently large sized running my A-show as Monday Night Raw on NBC (enormous).</p><p> </p><p>

So you're saying that they will eventually increase their caps over time?</p><p> </p><p>

I guess my hang upis that no one can get close to Hogan. The idea that 1991 Hulk Hogan had 100 drawing power is kinda nuts, he wasn't doing close to that in reality. If Hogan is at 100, and Savage and Warrior are at 91-92, Michaels, Bret, and Undertaker should eventually be able to peak at 90 or 91.</p><p> </p><p>

    But I guess that's just a mod issue.</p>

  6. Posting this here as no ones been able to provide guidance in the Small Questions

    thread:

Still trying to figure out the popularity caps thing. Any guidance would be appreciated.

So I'm using the Peaking Tides 1991 mod and am currently in November 1992. I'm trying to build my New Generation (Undertaker, Bret, Shawn, Razor, Diesel, Warlord {believe it or not} and Sid) to take over from the remaining Rock N' Wrestling guys (Hogan, Warrior, Savage, DiBiase, Slaughter, and Perfect) but am having trouble with popularity.

Just to give you a heads up: Undertaker has been stuck at 82 popularity in the US for three months, Shawn has been at 78 for two or three months, and Bret moves between 72 and 80 based on him winning or losing. With this I had a very curious outcome after the Survivor Series.

Shawn beat Bret (tainted with interference from Diesel and Sherri) in a 94 rated ladder match to retain the I-C title

Hogan beat Undertaker (with botched interference from Flair) in a 97 rated match to retain the WWF title

After these matches both Shawn and Undertaker remained where they were in popularity but Bret jumped up from 76/77 to 80. How did this happen? Shawn won, and with similar charisma and star quality to Bret, he's at the same spot. If we're talking about match quality, Undertaker had a better match, wasn't beaten clean, and has better star quality and charisma yet he didn't jump in popularity.

Can anyone explain this to me? (I can provide exact skill numbers if neccessary).

  8. Yeah I think that is the right idea. I'd say by that point in the game you're at least large so you should be able to get a station above medium sized like the Syndication in the mod.

Yeah, I was able to end Superstars and create Raw on NBC.

My hope is to be able to get someone (hopefully Undertaker, but possibly Sid) over enough to be able to beat Hogan. My New Generation has stalled in popularity: Undertaker at 82, Michaels at 77 and Bret at 77. Is it likely I can raise their popularity above those numbers with the NBC deal?

  9. <p>So I need some broadcasting advice.</p><p> </p><p>

I'm currently running WWF (we're in August 1992) and a bunch of my wrestlers are capping at popularity. I've read that 2020 calculated caps based on a combination of broadcasting coverage, star quality, stats, and destiny.</p><p> </p><p>

The only thing I can account for is broadcasting. My main show is currently Superstars that has First-Run Syndication as its US coverage (Medium). Should I try to get a larger broadcasting deal? Would that increase the caps?</p>

  10. If you check out the help file on the subject, it tells you that broadcaster size, company size, worker skill, and a random element factor into the popularity cap.

The one skill I know DOES contribute is SQ. I think experience does as well but I KNOW star quality does. They arent a direct conversion though. So if HBK has a SQ of 76 you may find his pop cap out at say 82. Or it might be 70. Depends on those other factors.

However I can tell you this as fact: If your worker has hit a cap in pop and cant gain any more, increasing their star quality by enough will increase the cap eventually. How much so is not an exact science thats all. And high SQ doesnt guarantee high cap.

    Thank you, this was helpful.
