  1. I hadn't even thought to check the TEW 2013 section, but I'm glad I did. What a way to end. I just read through the last couple pages and loved the build-up and write-up for Starrcade. Really fitting.

Bravo on an excellent job, making it a year with that many shows and write-ups is impressive! Five star job!

  2. I always feel like the RW stuff doesn't tend to get enough love and there is some hard work that goes into it (as there is on the c-verse side, don't get me wrong! Hahah).

  3. Post Homecoming Recap / Meeting

Well well well, this show was slightly tougher... except for the bonus, which appears to have been very obvious! I do love Petey so it worked out, and the tie-in with Steiner seemed like a good use. I need to build the X-Division up and I think Chris Bey is a future stud in the division so stealing a win here seemed like the right idea. It'll build into a story. One of the big goals for this diary is to really wrap 60-70% of the roster into their own storylines and in order to do that I'm having to think big picture and long-term. It has been really fun so fair, and my head is brimming with ideas. It also means developing midcard and lower midcard guys well beyond what I'm used to. And I love it. The two best examples here in this show were the Bey/Williams match and the Rae/Rayne match. Both are leading to something more feasible for all of those characters.

The Knockouts division has 14 women in it including Tessa. We have three of them (Rosemary, Susie/Su Yung, and Havok) in an active story, and Grace/Taya in another. So seeing Madison Rayne beat and bully the happy-go-lucky "rookie" seems like a nice tie in to bring more women to the forefront.

In the X-Division I think there are a number of routes I want to go, one is bringing back Destination X as an Impact Plus event in the summer, likely the month before or after Slammiversary (July). Blodyxe is right, Ace Austin is red hot, and for good reason. He is putting up great in-ring numbers, cutting solid promos and is 23-years old. Call it lucky destiny roll paired with strong skills or just strong booking, but he's got some qualities I really like. Bringing back Suicide fits with both reality and the story we are telling. Ace Austin needed a foil and Suicide's mysterious character instantly brings credibility, it could be anyone under that mask. Pair that with TJ Perkins wanting his shot, and the fact that Ace has been injecting himself in the Tessa/Sami feud by involving her fiancé, Daga and we have quality storytelling (at least in my mind haha).

Eddie Edwards continues to be a stud in-ring. He's the best in-ring performer for us and that's what drew the victory over Elgin in the third match. I did debate a draw for a long while (actually slept on it) with the plan of Sami vs. Elgin vs. Edwards at Rebellion, but eventually decided that wasn't the route I wanted to go, at least yet. Edwards and Callihan should be great, and of course, Tessa should be healthy come April.

Raven has long been one of my favorites. Originally, I just planned for him to do the spot in the six-man tag and be done (like he did in reality in March), or maybe make sporadic appearances... but then I got to thinking, how do I want to develop some characters moving forward... and then the rating popped up for Raven's segment after the match and boom, I knew I had to have him for a bit... so that got the wheels turning and ICU's new slant was born. Keep reading/watching/thinking because RealityIsLost and while Sami is involved we are taking this a totally different route than Impact did in reality.

Moose is one of my favorite things going on TV right now and I do plan to incorporate some of what he's done during these pandemic tapings... It is just too good to not include.

Speaking of COVID-19; I originally was thinking I was going to incorporate it much harsher than I'm going to now. I even wrote a narrative to tank the economy (it hit last week in-game and the economy plummeted from 85 in the US to 23... OOF). Ultimately here's what I'm doing... I created a custom venue with 50 seats to represent staff/etc and give a TINY financial boost to represent Skyway Studios where Impact taped there no fan shows for all of April/May/June. I plan (note: Plans are subject to change haha) to use it for all the shows through April including the PPV. This will hurt me financially while keeping it realistic. BUT I will not directly reference COVID in the shows unless it is necessary for the story or in comedy (we are all going through this to different degrees, who needs that remember) and I am not planning banning Canadians/Mexicans from the tapings either (though I did think about it as a way to create some storylines but ultimately it would mean pausing too many things). I am planning on forcing the WWE to make their actual releases and letting the game world sort out where those guys go. I may pursue one or two if I think they fit (honestly there are only one or two that I think do fit right now and they are former Impact people).

Beyond that, I'm strongly considering relocating the company to South East USA, in-game it is Ontario as Anthem is based there, but for game purposes and really in reality this is an American company... plus I'm tired of all my workers relocating.

Six episodes of Impact will be the build-up for Rebellion, the next true PPV (remember we are only running four true PPVs this year, Hard to Kill, Rebellion, Slammiversary and Bound for Glory). I've run the final set of tapings for March and as those wrap up I've already got all four title matches lined up and a couple other matches scheduled, so we will be able to do some nice build-up.

Again, thanks for the comments and support. I'm feeling really good about this thus far and really like the route I see this going.

  4. Homecoming Pre-Show // Last Call

    sPi4J8u.jpg

    -------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Figured I'd wrap this month up (here on the east coast) with the pre-show match and make it a last call for Homecoming which I expect in the next day or so. Thanks again for the predictions and of course following along. Just a reminder this is a Impact Plus show, so they tend to be more designed to push us forward to the quarterly PPV show, Rebellion in six weeks!

  5. Early March Tapings and Homecoming Card Preview

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Quick reminder, Homecoming is more of a nostalgia, throwaway event. We are building to Rebellion at the end of April. So these two weeks are more just to give some reasoning behind the matches at Homecoming, and set-up/continue stories for Rebellion. So here is that card/preview.

  6. First Talent Announcement for Homecoming

Impact News and Notes: First Talent Announcement for Homecoming

With Homecoming only two weeks away we wanted to pull back the curtain a bit and make our first talent announcement for the event! This Impact Plus Special will feature numerous call backs to the TNA-era including the logos and the arena itself as many things will make you feel like you are back at one of our original TNA PPVs. We at Impact feel it is important to not run from your past... But with that said, we've made the decision to not bring back the six-sided ring... While that may be a disappointment for some we guarantee this won't be... so without further adieu our first announcement for the Homecoming....

... That's right folks, "Big Poppa Pump" Scott Steiner is back in the "Asylum" for one night only and we are giving him a live microphone to talk about absolutely ANYTHING that comes up. He'll, I think its safe to say that Big Poppa Pump may even be the guest MC for part of the show...

Additionally, we can confirm that we will be announcing who the newest member of the Impact Wrestling Hall of Fame is!

Stay tuned to Impact this week as we will make the remainder of the announcements and reveal the card!

    -----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Dam, Susie is free. Nice show, though it felt like Shamrock didn't get much fanfare after losing

Just a quick update tonight, but hopefully one that people enjoy, or at least chuckle at.

Susie is indeed free! That'll play out more over the next few months.

As for Shamrock, ya, I went that route because I thought it would get some heat for Moose... plus technically Shamrock just has to give up his in-ring career ;-). He might still be around for a bit outside of the ring. We shall see.

I ran the two Impact's that lead to this show, and while Homecoming is a bit of a throwaway it will get over some of the points and will definitely move us toward the six episode build to Rebellion. Should be fun.

  7. I should know this but how do workers pick where they are prioritizing to work? I had an announcer sign a handshake with another company; I'm based in Canada, where he lives and is in the 30s popularity... this company is in Japan and he's 10 popularity there... Additionally my company is 4th biggest in the world, and the company he signed with is 14th. Any logic to why he's picking them over us? Only thing I can think is they are touring so he's prioritizing the tour over a TV Show.
  8. <p>Post-Sacrifice Recap</p><p> </p><p>

Well I wound up doing a long write-up for the show, because I wanted to tell some of the stories with more detail. Wound up being really happy with it. The Feast or Fired was a bit of a mess, but Bhupinder and Gama Singh had ZERO chemistry and I wanted to test out some things, so Bhupinder is heading to OVW as a reassignment. I have no plans for him (or the Desi Hit Squad). I've been really impressed with Rohit Raju's work recently in Impact! so he will stick around. Raj Singh and Shera are probably going to remain as jobbers. Gama, I'm not sure what i'll do as of now.</p><p> </p><p>

Homecoming is only two Impact! episodes away (intentionally as this is a throwaway show with some old TNA wrestlers making a return, it is also an Impact Plus special).</p><p> </p><p>

We are building towards the end of April's big PPV which is Rebellion. I've already got the four title matches planned out and their feuds are either already underway or moving towards that as this show ends. </p><p> </p><p>

I've always had trouble with the Knockouts divisions, but this division has some solid talents, and it's getting an infusion of new talent to make the division way more robust, I'm actually looking forward to booking them.</p><p> </p><p>

    Couple notes from the show:</p><p>

Eddie Edwards and Michael Elgin delivered the match of the night (44 rating, vs our local popularity of 39), both matches in this series have been 44's which thus far is our highest rating.</p><p> </p><p>

Tenille's debut squash was poor, but served a purpose.</p><p> </p><p>

Moose is one of my favorite current characters, and I like the angle of him wiping out the past of TNA, it fits well with the upcoming Homecoming show too.</p><p> </p><p>

If you are a big Impact fan, you'll notice some differences in how I'm booking the ICU angle; I'm honestly not quite sure the route I'm going with it at the moment but it is a different take.</p><p> </p><p>

Rob Van Dam remains our most popular worker; and is still putting up solid ratings so he's worth it.</p><p> </p><p>

As we head into March in the game, I'm dancing around the thoughts of how to execute this whole current pandemic. It won't be exactly like reality with a shutdown; but I may book shows in a custom venue with TINY attendance to represent the lost finances of no ticket sales... I also may ban some foreign workers but we shall see.</p><p> </p><p>

The WWE fell to Medium (this has been a constant in every test game I ran); but they are still strong overall and the #1 company in the world.</p><p> </p><p>

<span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>Predictions (this was a pretty obvious card with very few surprises by design):</strong></span></p><p>

    Kijar: 8/8 (no bonus)</p><p>

    Blodyxe: 8/8 (+3 bonus)</p><p>

    Powerbrock1000: 8/8 (+3 bonus)</p><p>

    Nobby_McDonald: 8/8 (no bonus)</p><p>

    Munit: 7/8 (no bonus)</p><p> </p><p>

    <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Overall After Two Shows:</span></strong></p><p>

    Powerbrock100: 15/16 (+3) </p><p>

    Olivertaylor276: 5/8</p><p>

    Munit: 12/16</p><p>

    20Legend: 4/8</p><p>

    Kijar: 8/8</p><p>

    Blodyxe: 8/8 (+3)</p><p>

    Nobby_McDonald: 8/8</p>

  9. Sacrifice Pre-Show

    hGQMRck.jpg?1

Pre-Show here, writing up full-show now, should be up in the 18-24 hours. Thanks for the early predictions.

    Impact World Championship

    Hardcore Rules

Sami Callihan {C} vs. Tommy Dreamer

    Ultimate Sacrifice

If Shamrock Loses He Must Retire

    Ken Shamrock vs. Moose

    Impact Tag Titles

The North {C} vs. The Rascalz (Trey and Wentz)

    Impact Knockout Title

Taya Valkyrie {C} vs. Madison Rayne

    Tenille Returns to Impact

Tenille Dashwood vs. Jessie Belle (OVW)

    Undead Realm Tornado Tag

Crazzy Steve and Rosemary vs. Jessicka Havok and Su Yung

Match Two of Best of Three

    Edwards Leads 1-0

    Eddie Edwards vs. Michael Elgin

    Feast or Fired Elimination Match

Bhupinder Singh vs. Cody Deaner vs. Jay Bradley (OVW) vs. Jessie Godderz (OVW) vs. Rob Van Dam vs. Willie Mack

(Feast or Fired got a bit convoluted, basically just pick the overall winner above, he'll get the Impact World Title shot, below we will call it bonus and leave this here)

Will one of the OVW wrestlers earn a contract by finishing in the final two? (Yes or No?, If Yes, Who?)

Who will be the final elimination?

Who will be fired (First non-OVW elimination)?

  10. Impact Plus Presents: Sacrifice, Preview

    4yCfwzx.jpg

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Impact Plus special Sacrifice booked in coordination with Ohio Valley Wrestling is up next, I've hinted at this earlier but we will have four "main" Pay-Per-Views, one per quarter (Hard to Kill being the first) and eight "Impact Plus" specials. Sacrifice is one, and in two weeks game-time the next, Homecoming, will be presented. These Impact Plus shows will frequently feature talents from other promotions, or special appearances. They will occasionally feature a bunch of storyline advancement but may not always feature title defenses or huge matches. There are times where the local talents may win, so they aren't always slam dunks, but generally I'll be pushing my own talent. Much like Impact actually presents the shows currently.

    Quick Picks for Sacrifice

    Impact World Championship

    Hardcore Rules

Sami Callihan {C} vs. Tommy Dreamer

    Ultimate Sacrifice

If Shamrock Loses He Must Retire

    Ken Shamrock vs. Moose

The North {C} vs. The Rascalz (Trey and Wentz)

    Impact Knockout Title

Taya Valkyrie {C} vs. Madison Rayne

    Tenille Returns to Impact

Tenille Dashwood vs. Jessie Belle (OVW)

    Undead Realm Tornado Tag

Crazzy Steve and Rosemary vs. Jessicka Havok and Su Yung

Match Two of Best of Three

    Edwards Leads 1-0

    Eddie Edwards vs. Michael Elgin

    Feast or Fired Elimination Match

Bhupinder Singh vs. Cody Deaner vs. Jay Bradley (OVW) vs. Jessie Godderz (OVW) vs. Rob Van Dam vs. Willie Mack

(Feast or Fired got a bit convoluted, basically just pick the overall winner above, he'll get the Impact World Title shot, below we will call it bonus and leave this here)

Will one of the OVW wrestlers earn a contract by finishing in the final two? (Yes or No?, If Yes, Who?)

Who will be the final elimination?

Who will be fired (First non-OVW elimination)?

  11. I am not familiar with Ace Austin, but you're booking him so strong that I'm googling him in a minute :p

    Enjoying RVD's "skits" too :D

Not sure if there's a prediction contest, but looking forward to Sacrifice

Appreciate it, I think you'll be impressed with Austin. He's got those real heel qualities in a "I just want to punch this guy in the face way". Pretty gymnastic, and creative in ring. YouTube has a solid Top 20 moves video.

He's only 23 also, so some real upside. Eddie Edwards had a really enjoyable feud with him over the summer.

Impact's done a great job with him in reality building him into a top name, and I want to build some of the youth on the roster.

Speaking of Impact, RVD's skits in reality are great and I'm glad they are coming through... We haven't even be banned from Twitch yet like RVD and Katie were haha!

Predictions are always welcomed and I haven't formally announced a contest, but I am keeping track and will likely incorporate one.
