  1. Its all a matter of perspective and scale, my friend. From where I live, its about 750 KM to the nearest major (in excess of 1 million people) city. Its 1750 KM to get to the west coast. And about 2600 KM to go the opposite direction and hit the major population centers in Ontario.

What makes it interesting is that for all of this size and space, we only have 35 million people. England has 53 million alone. And the entire UK could fit into my province a couple of times over.

Pretty much why we were thinking about it, at the time you could get a 3 bedroom place with 10 acres & a lake for C$50000 (at the time roughly £22000), sounded like a great idea... then we looked at the hoops we'd have to jump through to relocate and changed our minds :o:(

  2. Been wondering something, jhd1. Which promotion in Thunderverse Japan is most like Golden Canvas/Black Canvas? Heavyweights all the way, rich history but sort of down on it's luck, etc... I know UPJ sort of promotes that Heavyweight-over-Cruiserweight style, but it's much more NJPW than GCG style.

All you'd really need to do in UPJ is finish what the owners started and fire all the Juniors....

  3. <p>Yeah, sendspace is great provided you hit the right link. </p><p> </p><p>

In the middle of the page is a rectangular light blue box with a 'Click here to start download from sendspace' written link in it. </p><p> </p><p>

    That's the one you want to click <img alt=";)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/wink.png.686f06e511ee1fbf6bdc7d82f6831e53.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>

  6. <p>Roughly half way through the series and with the majority of 'lesser' articles out of the way, figured I'd share the cover to show what's coming up over the next few weeks <img alt=":)" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/smile.png.142cfa0a1cd2925c0463c1d00f499df2.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> </p><p>

  7. Here is the third 'scan' in the series of articles from the January 1980 issue of the North American Wrestling Observer, this time the article regarding the state of women's wrestling in North America

... and I like the preview snippets that give us hints as to what's going on in the world at the time.

Cheers, glad you like them ;)

  8. So, while we were researching for the ThunderVerse circa 1980 I happened to find ( ;) ) a near mint condition copy of the January 1980 edition of the North American Wrestling Observer in a box in my basement!

I mean yeah, the NAWO was always full of ads, probably around 50% of the mag to be honest and usually for businesses linked to the US scene, and quite often rammed with typos, but there were some interesting articles in there that gave us some insight into the scene at the time too.

So I've scanned in a few of the pages, here is the first one (of at least five) for your viewing pleasure, with the article on a new style that was sweeping the nation at the start of the 80s...

  9. Well more than one Season Finale a year WILL incure penatlies. Personally I'd run it as both "end of season" shows are longer events and choose between either the June or Decemeber show to be set to the Season Finale setting. That way both shows are bigger than standard, but one of them is slightly more exciting to fans.

Either way it makes sense cos they could either do a big summer blow-out or a spectactular end-of-year extravaganza which would account for the season finale boost ;)

  10. Can't say I've ever thought about it that way but I can see where you're coming from. Virgil's an old-school AWC guy so no doubt it'll come through in BCW's booking and roster.

I agree to some extent... however with his sons in the mix he is probably likely to push younger talent than the old guard, children are the future an all that, using the old guard to train up the next generation.

But then, the AWC was always about giving younger workers a shot, sink or swim, back in the day...
