  1. Just thought I would stop in and remind everyone that, for the second straight day, here in late July 2011...

THE PIITSBURGH PIRATES ARE ALONE IN FIRST PLACE IN THE NATIONAL LEAGUE CENTRAL!!!

...you know, just incase you were waiting for **** to freeze over :D

The Browns have fans?!?!? <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/eek.png.0e09df00fa222c85760b9bc1700b5405.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p><p> </p><p> </p><p> Sorry Steeler fan here, couldn't resist <img alt=":o" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/redface.png.900245280682ef18c5d82399a93c5827.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png" /></p>
  3. I must admit, that was a pretty good match,

and I think good things might be happening for Shiima Xion...

(thats whats was his name on the Indy's)

Seen Shiima upclose at a few local indy shows about two years ago (ringside seats so maybe 6 feet from the ring) Great high-flyer type with some innovative moves...unfortunetly he is pretty small and that will make it hard for him to get very far in the US. Shame though 'cause he's got a ****ton of talent

    ...

  4. Same thing with the WWE, really. They rushed the Nexus & NXT to buy time, ended up crippling the momentum of everyone to come out of NXT except for Daniel Bryan (his own fanbase and already a veteran outside the WWE), Wade Barrett (currently mid-carding with Ezekiel Jackson) & Alex Riley (face turning against his mentor).

Honestly, it seems ROH is the best promotion when it comes to elevating talent.

The big difference is the WW_ has a huge marketing machine, massive fanbase, multi-generational brand loyalty and as much as I hate to say it...John Cena. They will be fine till the next 'Big Thing' come along. TNA on the other hand is basically a big indie show with a nice TV deal. If it weren't for Panda Energy (Dixie Carter's parents) owning the promotion they would be doomed

I like Gunner alright but i love crimson he's awesome I hope he is TNA by BFG. Also Gunner is underrated in the ring He carried Murphy in that tag team and has a bright future.

Gunner, in a previous life as Phil Shatter was quite good on the indie scene for awhile before joining TNA. I haven't seen alot of him myself, but I'm willing to give him the benefit of the doubt and hope he works out. Don't know much about Crimson though.

  5. At least they're trying to make new stars.

    Hey, it's a start.

    :o

I think the problem is they are about 5 years late on this plan. AJ, Daniels, Joe and to a lesser extent Matt Morgan, Beer Money and Abyss had/have great potential to be big stars but have been buried, misused, poorly booked and basically ****ed over so many times for soooo long that they (TNA) missed the boat with them. Now, after 8 years in business TNA has to start over with a new batch of guys, some worthy some not, and try to build them up. Also, I'm sure Hogan and Bischoff want "their guys" in place, not the guys who were already employeed when they got there. (See AJ Styles: from longest reigning TNA World Champion to jobbing to 40 some year old Tommy Dreamer.) It's a shame because they had/have a talented core of wrestlers but can't seem to figure out how to use them

Of course, that's just my opinion...I could be wrong

  6. Cole's heat makes me long for the heady days of X-Pac heat. There is no irony in this statement at all, Cole has reached a level of "I just wish this guy wasn't here and never existed" that is pretty hard to fathom. WWE seems to really specialize in this kind of heat these days. These are the heels that don't really provoke a reaction like anger or jealousy so much as just force you into a quiet resignation that wrestling will probably never be what you want it to be again so you might as well just go do something else. Kind of like what reality shows did to TV, Over-reliance on CGI and 3d is doing to film or autotune has done to music.

What he said....Seriously couldn't agree more here. I've watched more old wrestling clips via YouTube over the last year than I have actually watched WW_ or TNA

  7. People say the smart thing would have been to save the storyline for later on when other people's contracts ran out, but honestly I don't blame Vince for jumping right into it. I think anyone else in his position would have done the exact same thing. People forget how fast-pace and exciting wrestling was 10 years ago. I'm pretty sure when the buyout happened, hearts were racing and people wanted to see WWF vs. WCW right away. It was like a massive explosion just popped off and no one was prepared or knew how to contain it. So Vince jumping into the WWF vs. WCW storyline didn't really bother me, I can see how it didn't come off well at first.

However, once the storyline shifted into the WCW-ECW Alliance phase, Vinnie had no excuse. That **** was incredible, I don't know how he messed that up. I didn't even care about Sting, Goldberg, Flair or any of those guys at that point. I had forgotten about them completely. IMO, ECW made up for the lack of big WCW names. It was a nice recovery for the storyline, but still failed somehow at the end. I think I blame Stephanie, she really did kill a lot of the momentum when she was made the partial owner.

I have to say I agree with the first part...what else could Vince have done at that point but the invasion? As far as paying millions (...and millions) to bring in Steiner, Sting, Goldberg etc...why would Vince do that? Yeah a few of those guys were over but, at the risk of stating the obvious, the WWF won! They won the Monday Night Wars big and had no reason to spend a small fortune on a handful of overpaid talent.

Where I disagree was, and maybe I'm in the minority here, but I thought overall the Invasion was really pretty good. And how else was it going to end? Of course the WWF was going to win at Survivor Series!

  8. Fun fact: MVP wouldn't technically be a "new" face in ROH. He had a match with Homicide in 2005, but it was very forgettable and he was not brought back. Of course, his profile has risen exponentially since then, and I don't think he's a half-bad worker. I wouldn't mind ROH bringing him in.

Punk coming back would be all kinds of awesome, but I think it's a pipe dream.

I never was a big MVP fan but I got to admit...WWE Armegeddon was here @ 3 1/2 years ago....at the time MVP was US Champ and he totally CARRIED Rey Mysterio in their match...I think he could survive in ROH...Just hope, as I live in a 'Sinclair' market that we get it on TV
