  1. PWInsider reported yesterday that Roode was supposed to win at BFG, but Hogan nixed it Sunday afternoon. I wouldn't be surprised, and honestly, it's disgusting if it's true. Link
  2. Drew Brees threw more picks than he did. Every QB in the league throws interceptions - except Tom Brady - so that's really unfair. They're giving up a good amount, yes, but he's still a far better option than Terrelle Pryor or Kyle Boller. Besides, they have a history of picking the wrong guys in the first round. Palmer is less of a gamble than anyone they could have taken in the draft. Then again, next year's class is loaded with talent at QB. Maybe someone like Matt Barkley falls to the second round.
  3. I love the trade. Palmer is still a great Quarterback. He threw for nearly 4,000 yards last year, 6th in the NFL. The Raiders are a running team, but Palmer is still a threat throwing the football, and will make the team better.
  4. Just as it was with Dolph Ziggler, it's great to see Cody Rhodes getting some love here. He's probably 5a. on my list, with Ryder. I love his promos, he's very good in the ring, and his character has more depth than anyone else's right now.
  5. Same here. I was a fan of him as soon as he called himself "Dolph Ziggler". I thought it was funny, but he certainly had "the look". Then, he seemed to get better and better in the ring. Now, he's definitely one of my favorites, and I can't wait until he gets a real reign with a World title.
  6. 1. CM Punk 2. Daniel Bryan 3. Wade Barrett 4. Dolph Ziggler 5. Zack Ryder I couldn't care less about the divas. As for the Bryan/Kidd question, I'd rather see Punk vs. Bryan go an hour, one fall to a finish. As much as I loved the Hart vs. Michaels WrestleMania XII Iron Man Match, I've become less and less interested in them. When you know a match is going 60 minutes regardless of what happens, it kind of cheapens it, in my opinion. I'd rather see false finishes that keep the match going, making it look like it may never end. See: Any Ring of Honor main event.
  7. I actually went to this year's Rumble in Boston, MA. It was great. The Nexus domination was epic, and the crowd just died when Cena cleaned house. It was priceless. We picked up again when Diesel came out, though.
  8. I was wondering why Barrett was "elected" to speak on behalf of the superstars, myself. That just didn't make sense to me, since he hasn't done anything of note since being excommunicated from the Nexus. As for why Beth was speaking for the divas, I assumed that was simply because she's the Divas Champion. You didn't see Kelly Kelly or Eve out there at all.
  9. Actually, I also love Michael Cole's character. I'm just saying everyone else in the IWC. Not the few of us who like him.
  10. Really? Because, to me, Flair's take always came off as someone who was jealous that while he worked his ass off to get over, Foley found a niche and got over almost immediately. The Lawler/Miz storyline was from December to February, with Lawler/Cole continuing through May. Honestly, in retrospect, it makes sense, since all of the top names on Raw needed to be in the Elimination Chamber to determine who would be challenging Miz. Foley is far better on the mic, and by far more entertaining at this point. While everyone focuses on how horrendous Cole's play-by-play is, Lawler's color is just as bad. I certainly don't want that in charge of the show. Besides, storyline-wise, Foley has experience as the Commissioner.
  11. The whole point in the walkout was over how Triple H was running Raw. Teddy Long still runs Smackdown, so there's no "gaping plot hole." Well, at least not regarding Smackdown. It's fairly obvious that this is going to lead to Triple H appointing somebody to take over Raw. I'm hoping for Mick Foley, but expect something stupid like Jerry Lawler.
  12. I definitely agree with you in that the stipulation was a terrible decision, especially this early. If it was WrestleMania, yes, the stipulation makes perfect sense. And if I had my wish, Punk would win with the Pepsi Plunge. But unfortunately, WWE decided to rush a storyline... Again.
  13. I wouldn't say Trips won cleanly, since there was interference from Laurinaitis, R-Truth, The Miz, and Kevin Nash. And again, it was so obvious that Triple H was going to win anyway, given the stipulation. I'm interested to see where this goes, but I certainly don't expect it to lead to something great.
  14. Don't worry, I pointed it out to my dad haha. Some of us can already see the bigger picture: - Mark Henry keeps the belt until Big Show comes back. - John Cena keeps the title for a while, before losing it inside the Elimination Chamber, probably to CM Punk. I expect The Rock to screw him. - Triple H was obviously going to win, it was just unfortunate that there was no real screwjob. Triple H should have turned heel and joined Nash, Miz, and Truth. Unfortunately, the rumors of a Team Punk vs. Team Triple H match at Survivor Series is now out the window, because WWE can't do anything right these days. There is your "bigger picture."
  15. Okay, let me give you a different example: Brock Lesnar agrees to return to the WWE for a main event match at WrestleMania against The Undertaker. The match is announced months in advance. If Lesnar officially competed in a match at Survivor Series, wouldn't that take away some of the value of the match at WrestleMania? It's no longer Lesnar's return match, it's simply a match against The Undertaker, regardless of how big it is. One of the major selling points of the match was that The Rock was returning to in-ring competition. Now that he's wrestling at Survivor Series, that is no longer the case. Will it cost them WM buys? Of course not. Will I buy it? Of course I will. But the fact is, I won't be nearly as excited as I would have been if it was his first match.
  16. I'm with you on that one. I honestly never liked The Rock anyway.
  17. Like I said earlier, I agree with Fantabulous here. Obviously, putting The Rock in a match at Survivor Series won't take buys away from WrestleMania, but that's really beside the point. For 6 months now, they've been building up the match by saying that it'll be the first time he'll wrestle in over 7 years. However, if he wrestles at Survivor Series, that allure is gone. Now it's just a big match between John Cena and The Rock, who will be in the ring for the first time in... 5 months. That's nowhere near as big as it would be otherwise. Again, of course it won't take buys away from WrestleMania. It just seems to me like it's a cheap way to gain some extra Survivor Series buys, not to mention overall detracts from one of the things that makes their 'Mania match so special.
  18. I guess we'll take this as official confirmation: http://fcwwrestling.info/cesaro1.html
  19. This is my biggest problem. The allure of the WrestleMania match, to me, is the fact that it will be more than 8 years after he last wrestled. Now that he's wrestling at Survivor Series, and probably the Royal Rumble, the match won't feel as big. It will still be huge, but it'll feel more like Cena vs. Orton than Rock vs. Cena.
  20. And have you noticed that ratings are down in the second hour? Punk typically isn't on in the second hour, Cena is. So, right now, Punk is drawing better ratings.
  21. Exactly. There are far more "legitimate stars" than just Cena and Orton.
  22. Define "legitimate stars". Being the WWE or World Heavyweight Champion isn't the only thing that makes you a legitimate star. CM Punk became a true superstar, on par with Cena and Orton, simply by cutting a couple of promos. At the very least, you need to add him. The Miz is up there, as well, with all of his promotional work, and Zack Ryder (yeah, I said it) is one of the most over WWE employees right now. Depending on the criteria you're using for a "legitimate star," there is either Cena, or a group of 5 or more.
  23. This, coupled with the fact that Triple H just took over makes it painfully obvious that Punk's getting screwed and Triple H is turning heel. Punk vs. HHH = Austin vs. McMahon, only better because Trips can go in the ring.
