Road Warriors in the Four Horsemen is a good call, like it!

I double dog dare you to call Hall and Nash by their rumoured WCW names... The Bad Guy and Axle. :D

Glad you enjoy my having the Road Warriors in the Four Horsemen. Can you imagine this group back in the 80's?

As far as calling Hall and Nash by those names? Nope. And I wouldn't call Steve Austin Chilly McFreeze, either. LOL.

I'm late to the start of this but I was considering a crack at this a dynasty.

You've captured the voices and the time period nicely. Good luck. I'll be following as often as time allows.

Welcome to the diary! Better late than pregnant! But I'm glad to have you here and reading. I really appreciate you saying that I've captured the voices nicely. That is one thing that I worried over is making sure the promos fit the characters.

Comments: Probably wrong about this but the Swolverine can be a major star.

The Good Brothers vs Hangman Page & Jon Moxley

  4. We've come up with an idea but we need to take the temperature of the room.

We think it would be really great if we had our readers post independent reviews of the shows. 100% their opinion, nobody's beholden to kiss up to us and our shows etc. Preferably this would be a weekly or at least bi-monthly thing and doesn't have to be a novel length just the person's feelings on the shows, stories, and so forth.

If anyone would be interested in pitching in and giving their 2 cents on a regular basis hit us up and let us know.

First of all, I read through the diary from the beginning today. I just want to say that this is one amazing diary, both from the writing standpoint and from a visual standpoint. Everything is leading towards greatness right now. Looking forward to seeing who the opponent is for Lashley at Crown Jewel.

Could it be a Hall of Famer like Goldberg? Could it be Ron Simmons? Could it be the return or re-signing of someone like Bray Wyatt or Braun Strowman? On the Smackdown side, will Finn Balor get another deserved rematch with Roman Reigns? More importantly, will he get the title, maybe as The Demon.

Secondly, in regards to the roster itself, it's great to see some guys like Ciampa and Adam Cole on the main roster. I have noticed some particular signings in NXT. I assume that NXT is still the developmental company and that the signings are on developmental deals. Wrestlers like Allysin Kay and Dave Finlay Jr. are great signings for the company and for the future of WWE.

Finally, in regards to the question proposed above, I think that would be something very fun and interesting to do. But it's not something that I could specifically guarantee each and every week or anything. I am focused more on my diary than on anything else right now and don't want it to lose any focus. But I will definitely be reading and if something pops up in my mind, I will let you both know.

  5. Monday, Week 2, September 1995

Live from The Dahlberg Arena, Missoula, MT...

Broadcast via TNT at Prime Time...

    WCW presents...

    WCW MONDAY NITRO!

    Pay The Piper!

Following the opening video, WCW Monday Nitro opens inside the Dahlberg Arena at the University of Montana! 7,022 fans are in attendance for this second ever Monday Nitro. The crowd here erupts as the sound of bagpipes begins to play. Eight bagpipers step out from the back lining up the entrance ramp with four on each side. Then we have the arrival and the WCW return of none other than the Hot Rod Roddy Piper! The crowd erupts louder as The Rowdy Scot steps toward the ring and then up the stairs and inside. He has a big smile on his face and a microphone in hand.

Roddy Piper: "Thanks everyone. Thank you very much. I guess my invitation for last week got lost in the mail, huh? Well, the Hot Rod has arrived and now this is truly the place where the big boys play. You know, I've got a rap sheet longer than my arm and you fans still cheer for me? Thank you so much for that. After talking with the higher-ups, I can tell each and every one of you that next week two wrestlers will be going into the Pit With Piper. Those two men are the Jolly Green Giant and the WCW World Heavyweight Champion Hulk Hogan. Hulk, I remember another time where you were in the Pit with a giant. But you both need to remember that just when you think you have all the answers, I change the questions!"

A pause is all that is needed at this moment for someone else's music to begin to play. Piper has been interrupted by the arrival of V.K. Wallstreet! In the background, a sign goes up that reads: 'RAW. Really Awful Wrestling.' Wallstreet walks to the ring and steps inside with Piper giving him a look.

Roddy Piper: "I think you got lost there, Mr. Wallstreet. This is my ring. This is the Hot Rod's ring. You're stepping in the Pit with Piper, Captain."

V.K. Wallstreet: "Your ring? Listen here you cross-eyed halfwit. Do you know who you're talking to? I am V.K. Wallstreet, the greatest wrestler to come out of Syracuse University. You're just some idiot in a skirt. You're some guy in a skirt that doesn't know when to quit. But you're going to learn when to quit when V.K. Wallstreet is finished with you because V.K. Wallstreet is a real player."

Roddy Piper: "You think you're a tough guy, huh? I say you prove it. At Fall Brawl, you and me one on one. I can promise you that, in my ring, I will put you to sleep. You have to remember that what doesn't kill me, makes me stronger and I'm feeling mighty powerful."

In answer to the challenge, Wallstreet tries to sucker punch Roddy but Piper blocks and then pokes Wallstreet in the eye. Piper sends Wallstreet over the top rope with a clothesline and then celebrates in the ring alone before exiting and heading for the back.

    Match #1

The Shark vs. 'The Total Package' Lex Luger

Our opening matchup is a match of power against power as The Shark along with The Taskmaster takes on Lex Luger in Luger's return match here on Nitro. Luger starts the match strong, colliding with The Shark several times and finally taking him down with a big clothesline. Luger pulls The Shark back up and goes to whip him into the turnbuckles but The Shark blocks it and sends Luger into the corner instead. The Shark runs in and catches Luger with an avalanche in the corner. The Shark takes control both inside and outside the ring, including sending Luger into the ring post. Back in the ring, The Shark goes for a running seated senton but Luger rolls out of the way and The Shark collapses on the mat. The crowd gets behind The Total Package and Luger pulls himself up using the ropes. He catches The Shark with several clotheslines and then hits him with a powerslam! Luger calls for the Human Torture Rack! Can he even get The Shark up? Luger lifts The Shark to his feet and starts to lift The Shark but he gets grabbed around the throat by an interfering Giant! The referee immediately calls for the bell at 7:43.

Lex Luger d. The Shark =72

    The Fight Continues

The bell has sounded but the action has not stopped in the ring. The Giant uses one hand to choke Lex Luger. The Shark drops to the mat and strikes Luger from behind. The Giant releases Luger just so that The Shark can pick him up and drop him with a body slam! The Giant calls for the Choke Slam but here comes Hulk Hogan! The WCW World Heavyweight Champion rushes into the ring with a chair, striking The Shark and knocking him out of the ring. Hogan turns his attention to The Giant but The Taskmaster steps between them. The Taskmaster grabs The Giant and pulls him back and out of the ring. Hogan helps Luger to his feet and the two men go face to face. Hogan drops the chair and Luger smirks, patting Hogan on the shoulder before exiting the ring.

    Mystery Backstage Attack

With that, we go backstage where we find The Mouth of the South Jimmy Hart laid out! He is bloody and battered and barely awake as officials check on him. He doesn't seem to know what happened or who attacked him. Hulk Hogan shows up, looking down at his manager.

    Hulk Hogan: "What happened, Jimmy?"

The man known as The Mouth of the South cannot even talk at this point. Hogan helps him up and escorts him toward an ambulance in the back. Hogan helps Jimmy Hart into the ambulance and then climbs in with the two of them headed to a local medical facility. That being done, we head to the ring for our next match.

    Match #2

'The Arabian Nightmare' Sabu vs. 'Das Wunderkind' Alex Wright

This match marks the WCW Monday Nitro debut of the daredevil high flyer 'The Arabian Nightmare' Sabu. He is joined at ringside by wrestling legend The Sheik. This was a rather short match that was mostly dominated by the debuting Sabu. Sabu gets Wright outside the ring and then drags a chair inside the ring. He sets up the chair and then bounces off the ropes, using the chair like a step stool to the top rope. He gets his balance and then catches Wright with a cross body outside the ring! A sign shows up in the background that reads: 'SA-BOO!' Referee Mickey Jay tosses the chair out of the ring as Sabu brings Das Wunderkind back in. Sabu hits a fallaway slam and then heads to the top turnbuckle. He leaps with a somersault legdrop! The move known as the Arabian Facebuster when used in conjection with a chair. There's no chair this time but Sabu gets the cover: One, Two, Three! Sabu picks up the win at 3:07.

    Sabu p. Alex Wright =43

    Road Warrior Surprise

Once the ring is cleared, 'Iron Man' begins to play and here comes Road Warrior Hawk! Hawk has his spiked shoulderpads on as he stomps down to the ring. He climbs the stairs and steps inside, asking for a microphone.

Road Warrior Hawk: "Well! Last week, I came out here and promised a surprise this week on WCW Monday Nitro. I am nothing if not a man of my word. So without further..."

Ric Flair: "Shut up! It's time for you to shut up while you're standing in the ring that belongs to Ric Flair and Arn Anderson."

Ric Flair and Arn Anderson walk out from the back and walk directly into the ring. Flair gets on one side of Hawk and Anderson stands on the other side.

Ric Flair: "Take a good look in this ring, Hawk. There's two of us and only one of you. That means you need to stand there and listen to the Nature Boy and The Enforcer. Whooo. We can't help the fact that we are the two best wrestlers in the business. We were born to be the best because we were born to be Horsemen. The Four Horsemen will always be the..."

Road Warrior Hawk: "Well, Ric! You can talk about being the best and I don't mean to cut you off here but we still have a surprise to go. Let's take a look at what that surprise is."

'Iron Man' begins to play again and out from the back comes long-time Road Warrior Manager Paul Ellering! Ellering has the Wall Street Journal in hand before he points to the back and here comes Road Warrior Animal! The Road Warriors are reunited! Animal and Paul join Hawk in the ring and they move to one corner opposite of Ric Flair and Arn Anderson. Ric and Arn huddle together in the corner for a moment before Arn steps forward with a microphone in hand.

Arn Anderson: "Ric, you were right about the Horsemen being the best. I have a little bit of history when it comes to tag teams, though. I can say that these two men right here are one of the best tag teams in the history of professional wrestling. That means that they deserve to be Horsemen."

Arn Anderson offers his hand across to Hawk! The crowd boos, trying to get the Road Warriors not to listen. Hawk accepts the handshake and then raises four fingers! Paul Ellering raises four fingers! Animal raises four fingers! Ric Flair struts across the ring and the four men embrace in the center of the ring before raising their arms. We have a new Four Horsemen group and they might be the most dangerous group yet! The five men exit the ring together and head for the back. Just how in the world did this get set up? Was this the surprise that Hawk was really talking about?

    Match #3

Zodiac vs. 'The Macho Man' Randy Savage

Our third match of the evening features Zodiac, along with The Taskmaster, against The Macho Man Randy Savage! The match features some back and forth in the first minute before Savage takes control for the rest of the match itself. With control, Savage catches Zodiac with an inverted atomic drop and then a clothesline. He waits for Zodiac to get to his feet and rushes him with a high knee to the back. Savage points toward a sign that reads: 'MACHO MAN > NACHO MAN!' The Macho Man plants Zodiac with a body slam and then heads to the top turnbuckle. He raises his arms and then leaps, connecting with the Flying Elbow Drop! Savage makes the cover: One, Two, Three! The three count comes only 3:38 into the match.

    Randy Savage p. Zodiac =71

    Flyin' Fighter

The camera cuts to the ramp where Gene Okerlund is standing by. Take it away, Mean Gene!

Gene Okerlund: "Thanks Eric, Brain. Mean Gene here to remind you to call our WCW Hotline! It's only $5.99 the first minute and .99 each additional minute. You'll get all the latest updates on the action here in WCW. Speaking of action, let's welcome down my guest at this time. He is a former NFL player and current WCW wrestler, 'Flyin' Brian Pillman!"

The crowd cheers as Brian Pillman comes out from the back. Flyin' Brian high fives some fans in the front row before joining Gene-o and adjusting the tie of Gene Okerlund.

Gene Okerlund: "Thanks, Brian. We all saw earlier that your opponent tonight, Ric Flair, has reformed the Four Horsemen with Arn Anderson, The Road Warriors and Paul Ellering. Momentum seems to be on his side. Can we get your thoughts going into that battle tonight?"

Brian Pillman: "Gene, we've both been around this wrestling business for many years, right? We both know that Ric Flair is going to take whatever shortcuts he can get away with in this match. He is the dirtest player in the game, after all. He proved that earlier tonight when Sting got attacked backstage."

Gene Okerlund: "Sting was attacked backstage?"

Brian Pillman: "Yeah, he says he doesn't know who did it but I have a strong suspicion that the newly formed Horsemen have something to do with it. That means that I go into this match with Ric Flair tonight looking for revenge for my friend, Sting. RIc, tonight, you're going to get a crash course in the value of friendship when I take you downtown."

Gene Okerlund: "Thank you, Brian. Now, let's head up to the ring to see our WCW World Tag Team Champions in action."

    Match #4: Non Title Match

Bunkhouse Buck and 'Dirty' Dick Slater vs. The Armstrong Brothers

In action are the two members of the Stud Stable with Col. Robert Parker at ringside as they face off against Steve and Scott Armstrong. The Armstrongs start things quickly but they are soon taken over by Dick Slater, who carries the match. Scott gets isolated in the corner of Bunkhouse Buck and Dick Slater. They use frequent tags in and out to keep a fresh man in. When they have Scott outside the ring, Buck chokes him in front of a fan with a sign that reads: 'HARLEM HEAT MELTED MY OTHER SIGN!' The match ends when Dick Slater catches Scott Armstrong with a Leaping Piledriver in the center of the ring. Dick makes the cover as Bunkhouse Buck rushes over and knocks Steve Armstrong off the apron. The referee drops down to make the count: One, Two, Three. The three count comes at 5:27.

Bunkhouse Buck and Dick Slater p. The Armstrong Brothers =33

    Diamond Or Coal?

From the ring, we move to a pre-taped promo with the WCW World Television Champion The Renegade. He looks into the camera with the title belt around his waist.

The Renegade: "Diamond Dallas Page, you dared to issue a challenge to The Renegade for my World Television title? You are a giant fool and I will prove that to you this Saturday on WCW Saturday Night. I have been programmed to destroy any and all victims that step into my path. When you get in my way, you will be terminated by the toughest man in World Championship Wrestling. I will take you from a diamond to dust. I will free that Diamond Doll from you and you will be left alone with nothing to hold. You will be destroyed!"

The Renegade snarls and yells, waving his arms in the air. He turns and slams a fist into a wall before we head back to the ring for our main event.

    *MAIN EVENT*

    Match #5

'The Nature Boy' Ric Flair vs. 'Flyin' Brian Pillman

This contest is definitely a contrast of styles as the technically sound Ric Flair goes up against the high flyer in Brian Pillman. The pace of the first few minutes is dictated by the high flying Brian Pillman. That means a quicker pace where Pillman catches Flair with an early Tornado DDT. Upon landing, Flair's foot falls on the bottom rope so when Pillman makes the cover there's not even a one count by senior official Nick Patrick. Flair quickly rolls out of the ring and here comes Arn Anderson down to ringside. Flair and Anderson have a conference before Flair comes back in the ring. Ric immediately rakes the eyes of Brian and then backs him in the corner, lacing his chest with chops. When Pillman staggers free from the corner, Flair immediately hits a chop block. The next few minutes are spent with Flair working on the knee of Pillman. This attack includes Flair ramming the knee on the ring post. Back in the ring, Flair goes for the Figure Four but Pillman pulls him into a small package: One, Two, Thr--Kickout! Both men get to their feet and a double clothesline sends them both down to the mat. As the referee checks on Pillman, Arn Anderson slides a pair of brass knuckles on the hand of The Nature Boy! Flair backs into a corner, hiding the brass knuckles from view. Pillman slowly pulls himself up and moves toward Flair -- WHAM! Flair strikes with a punch to the head with the knucks! Pillman drops like a sack of concrete. Flair rolls him up, placing his feet on the ropes: One, Two, Thre -- Shoulder Up!

Eric Bischoff: "Bobby, how in the world did Flyin Brian kick out of that?"

Bobby Heenan: "I don't know! That was a slow count! That wasn't fair to Flair!"

Ric Flair gets up and begins arguing with referee Nick Patrick. The two men begin getting into a shoving contest where Nick actually shoves Ric to the mat! Ric pops back up and then drops face first on the mat. During this time, Brian Pillman manages to pull himself up to his feet. Pillman grabs Flair by the arm and sends him toward a corner but Flair flips up and over the turnbuckle! He rushes along the apron and climbs up the turnbuckle but Pillman is there to meet him. Pillman punches Flair, crotching him on the top turnbuckle before climbing up and bringing Flair to the mat with a Superplex! Pillman grabs his knee in pain when they land. Pillman stands in control until he makes the mistake of rushing Flair in a corner with a running knee. Flair is pushed out of the way by The Enforcer and Pillman hits that hurt knee on the turnbuckle pad. Flair trips Pillman and immediately locks in the Figure Four. Pillman shakes his head, refusing to submit at first. But Flair just tightens the hold and Pillman finally has to submit to save his leg from being broken.

Ric Flair d. Brian Pillman =80

    Horsemen Beatdown

Speaking of breaking legs, the bell sounds but Ric Flair refuses to release the Figure Four on Brian Pillman! Arn Anderson enters the ring and tosses referee Nick Patrick over the top rope to the floor. Ric finally releases the hold as Road Warriors and Paul Ellering come down to join the other two Horsemen in the ring. They each take turns stomping on Brian Pillman. Road Warrior Animal gives a double thumbs up and everyone knows what that means. Road Warrior Hawk heads to the top turnbuckle while Animal lifts Pillman in the electric chair position. Hawk leaps and catches Pillman with the Doomsday Device flying clothesline! Pillman is left laid out in the middle of the ring as Flair asks for a microphone.

Ric Flair: "WCW! Take a good look at what just happened to Brian Pillman. That is what's going to happen to every single wrestler that steps up against the Four Horsemen. You're looking at four diamonds in a promotion filled with coal. Next week, we are going to continue just the way we started tonight. Hulk Hogan, the WCW World Heavyweight Champion, well, you know the old saying that to be the man, you have to beat the man. Next week, you are going to walk that aisle against not Ric Flair but against Road Warrior Animal! Whooo! Hulk, you're gonna bleed all night long and that's the bottom line."

Ric begins strutting around the ring as the Four Horsemen and Paul Ellering stand side by side. All five men raise four fingers in the center of the ring before we go up to the announce booth.

    The Big Surprise

At the announce booth, of course, are Eric Bischoff and Bobby Heenan.

Eric Bischoff: "Bobby, we're going to wrap things up here and it's just like I thought: that man Hall is all talk and no action. There must not have been a big surprise."

Suddenly, Hall comes walking through the crowd and walking toward the announce booth. The Brain takes off his headset and takes off away from the scene, leaving only Eric Bischoff there at the announce booth. Eric stands to go face to face with Hall.

Eric Bischoff: "Well, I'm here, Hall. Where is your big surprise? You have done a lot of talk, now where's the walk?"

Hall points behind Eric Bischoff and Eric turns to come face to chest with the former Diesel of the World Wrestling Federation! This big surprise grabs a microphone from Bischoff.

Big Surprise: "You and everyone else around you have been sitting out here running your mouths without any repercussions. This is where the big boys play? Well, look at the adjective - play! We're not here to play. Now, he said last week that he was going to have a big surprise this week. Here I am. Now we want you to get three of those fossils you call wrestlers together to face us."

Eric Bischoff: "I don't have the authority right now and there's only two of you guys."

Big Surprise: "You let us worry about that. I'll tell you what, we will be in the building at the end of the month at Fall Brawl. You get that authority together by then and we'll see you then."

Hall: "Hey, hey big man, I say me and you, we go to Fall Brawl and maybe these fossils will want to fight."

Big Surprise: "The measuring stick has just changed around here and you're looking at them."

The Big Surprise and Hall push Eric Bischoff down in his chair and laugh as security steps in to escort them away. The show comes to an end as Eric looks in the camera shaking his head.

  6. The Shark vs. 'The Total Package' Lex Luger

Comments: Good way to show off Luger's strength, that's for sure.

Zodiac vs. 'The Macho Man' Randy Savage

Comments: The greatest Hogan BS in the history of Hogan BS is when he said he planted Zodiac in the Dungeon as a mole to feed him info.

Thanks for the predictions and comments. The Shark is definitely an interesting matchup for Luger. Both men are power wrestlers. Which power will pick up the victory?

I had forgotten that about the Zodiac, honestly. I looked it up after you posted. That is absolutely crazy. Definitely BS.

The Shark vs. 'The Total Package' Lex Luger

Comments: Good debut showcase for Luger but I do feel sorry for John Tenta, The Shark is such an awful gimmick for an otherwise talented big dude.

'The Arabian Nightmare' Sabu vs. 'Das Wunderkind' Alex Wright

Comments: Hopefully Sabu sticks around longer for you than he did in real life.

Other Comments: The formatting is okay, I always prefer pictures and more visual presentation but that's up to you of course :)

Thank you for the predictions and comments. The Shark is definitely an awful gimmick but it is fitting inside the Dungeon of Doom, after all. It is a grouping of bad gimmicks.

I plan on and hope for Sabu to last longer than he did in real life. He definitely brings something different to the ahem table.

Thank you for your comments on the formatting. I understand that most diaries have pictures but the less pictures makes the formatting a little easier. I hope that the lack of visuals is made up for in the full presentation of the diary.

Speaking of which, I am hoping to have the next Monday Nitro show up tomorrow barring some rt situations. Thank you to everyone for reading so far.

Oooo, the nWo is happening early then! Interesting.

Something like the nWo is definitely happening early. Will it be the same as what happened in the real world? Maybe. But if I said something, there'd be no reason to tune in. ;)

Thank you for reading, though, and, especially, for commenting. One of the reasons I post here is to get feedback. Very interested in reading thoughts on the formatting and all.

  8. Saturday, Week 1, September 1995

Taped from Generic Venue, Mid West.

    WCW presents...

    WCW MONDAY NITRO!

Match #1: WCW United States Title Match

Sting© defends vs. 'Nature Boy' Ric Flair

The very first WCW Monday Nitro begins with a match inside the ring because one of those W's stands for wrestling. Two of the top veterans in the world of professional wrestling go one on one for the WCW United States title. These two men have great chemistry in the ring and it shows in the match. Sting dominates the early going, hitting Ric Flair with moves like a press slam and then a leap over the top rope with a cross body to the outside of the ring. Back inside the ring, Sting goes for the Stinger Splash but Flair moves and Sting hits his knee in the corner. This miss sets up Flair for the advantage and a focus on that knee in Ric Flair style. The match and title looks like it might go to Flair when he manages to lock on The Figure Four Leglock with Sting in the center of the ring. Flair uses the ropes for leverage one too many times and gets caught by the referee, forcing a break of the hold. Flair and referee Nick Patrick get into a shoving match that leads to Sting rolling up Flair for a two count. The crowd gets Sting back into the match and Sting takes down Flair with a big body slam in the center of the ring before grabbing that hurt knee. He Irish whips Flair into a corner and Flair flips up and over to the apron. Flair runs along the apron but is taken down with a clothesline by Sting. Sting drags Flair back in the ring and moves him into a corner, climbing up and raining down ten punches on The Nature Boy! Sting drops down and Flair puts up his dukes for about five seconds before falling face first on the mat. Sting waits for Flair to pull himself up in a corner before hitting the Stinger Splash! A moment later, Sting locks the Scorpion Deathlock on The Nature Boy and Flair has no choice but to submit at the 10:42 mark.

    Sting d. Ric Flair =83

    Horsemen Reunion Halted

The bell sounds but before Sting can release the hold, he is struck from behind with a tire iron to the back of the head by Arn Anderson! Double A has entered the ring and has had some issues with Ric Flair but on this first WCW Monday Nitro he has struck Sting from behind. Flair slowly pulls himself up and puts his hands up to ward off Anderson. After a moment, Anderson offers a handshake with four fingers. The two men shake hands and Flair smiles, stomping on Sting! He grabs the legs to lock on another Figure Four but someone else comes running in from the back. It's Brian Pillman! Flyin' Brian leaps to the top rope and hits Air Pillman on both Flair and Anderson! A pair of dropkicks sends them scurrying outside the ring. Pillman checks on Sting and helps him to his feet. Brian Pillman and the WCW United States Champion Sting stand side by side in the ring with Ric Flair and Arn Anderson staring at them from ringside.

    War Games No More?

We move to the announce booth where announcers Eric Bischoff and Bobby Heenan are shown.

Eric Bischoff: "Bobby, it's time to welcome everyone to the very first edition of WCW Monday Nitro! Of course, I'm Eric Bischoff and this is my broadcast colleague Bobby 'The Brain' Heenan. Bobby, are you as excited as I am to be here in Duluth, Minnesota for this show?"

Bobby Heenan: "Are you kidding me? It's the only reason I would even come to Duluth. You know that the smartest person in this town only made it to the second grade, right?"

Eric Bischoff: "You know that's not true, Bobby. But what we also know is that we have a major announcement to make this evening. The decision was made by the WCW Championship Committee that the former War Games match set for Fall Brawl will no longer take place. Instead, we will see the WCW World Heavyweight Champion Hulk Hogan defend his title against The Giant. But that's not all. You want to take the next part, Brain?"

Bobby Heenan: "I still say it's not fair but we learned that if The Giant loses that match, The Dungeon Of Doom must disband. However, I don't think that The Taskmaster has any concerns because who can beat a man the size of The Giant?"

Eric Bischoff: "Hulk Hogan is the only man that I can think of. But talking about The Giant, he is in action in his in-ring debut next on this first edition of Monday Nitro! Let's head to the ring for that contest."

    Match #2

The Giant vs. 'Jumping' Joey Maggs

Back in the ring, The Taskmaster escorts out The Giant to take on the veteran in Jumping Joey Maggs. There is a huge difference between the two when they go about face to chest in the center of the ring. Maggs tries a dropkick early but it doesn't phase The Giant. There seems to be nothing Maggs can do to even move the larger athlete. The Giant finally stops playing around and brings down Maggs with a headbutt. He sends Maggs to the ropes and drops him with a big boot. A few moments later, The Giant wraps his hand around the throat of Joey Maggs, lifting him up and dropping him with a Choke Slam! The Giant places his foot on the chest of Maggs and the referee makes the three count at 1:42.

The Giant p. Joey Maggs =56

    Did Hogan Make A Mistake?

The Taskmaster enters the ring to celebrate the victory with The Giant. They are joined in the ring by Gene Okerlund, who has a microphone. Take it away, Mean Gene!

Gene Okerlund: "Hello Duluth! Gene Okerlund here alongside The Taskmaster and the number one contender to the WCW World Heavyweight title, The Giant! Kevin Sullivan, The Giant made short work of Joey Maggs tonight but his big match has been scheduled for Fall Brawl at the end of the month when he takes on Hulk Hogan for the WCW World Heavyweight title. What plans do you have for that match?"

The Taskmaster: "Gene Okerlund, take a good look at the man standing here between us. This is the world's tallest athlete. He's a freak of nature. The only plan we need when it comes to Hulk Hogan is to decide what to put on the tombstone of HulkaMania. This man, The Giant, is going to do what I have been trying to do for a long time: he is going to force Hulk Hogan to retire. Hulk, look down at the title belt around your waist and enjoy it because at the end of the month this man is going to take the belt from you and there's nothing you can do to stop him."

    The Giant roars.

Gene Okerlund: "Thank you, Kevin Sullivan. We'll be back soon right here on WCW Monday Nitro!"

    Macho Madness Monday

Following the commercial break, we are taken to a pre-taped promo by Randy Savage!

Randy Savage: "OH YEAH! The Macho Man is here for the very first WCW Monday Nitro! Tonight, it will be The Macho Man stepping in the ring against Mr. Wonderful. Paula, you and I have been around a long time, yeah. But the difference between the two of us is that I've gotten better with age while you have aged like milk. It's gonna be wild! It's gonna be crazy! Macho Madness is going to show up right here tonight on the very first WCW Monday Nitro! And the Macho Man is going to take over the show. OH YEAH! DIG IT!"

    Match #3

'The Shooter' Dean Malenko vs. 'The Mysterious' Mr. JL

Unlike the opening contest, the two wrestlers in this match have bad chemistry in the ring and it shows in several botched moves throughout the contest. In the early goings of the match, the masked JL uses his speed to his advantage. He stays away from Dean Malenko until Malenko reverses a flying headscissors attempt into a power bomb. Malenko picks up JL and brings him over with a belly to back suplex. Malenko keeps JL on the mat with several mat-based moves, including locking on a rear chinlock. JL works his way to his feet but Malenko shifts around and catches JL with a gutbuster. Within moments, Malenko twists JL into the Texas Cloverleaf and JL has no choice but to submit at 5:11.

Dean Malenko d. Mr. JL =46

    Big Surprise Part 1

Following the victory by Dean Malenko, the cameras begin panning around the crowd as Eric Bischoff and Bobby Heenan discuss the things that have already happened on Nitro so far. The camera suddenly stops and zooms in on someone walking through the crowd. The man is known to wrestling fans as the former Razor Ramon in the WWF. The man leaps the guardrail and grabs a microphone before entering the ring and standing in the center.

Known Man: "Hey yo! You people. You know who I am. But you don't know why I'm here. Where is Billionaire Ted? Where is that WCW Franchise Stung, I mean, Sting? He's in the back getting medical assistance after a little lump on his head. Those people who do know me know that I go wherever I want, whenever I want. And where oh where is Scheme Gene? I got a scoop for you. Hey Ken Doll, I know you're listening right now. I've got a big surprise coming for you next week. You wanna go to war? You want a war? You've got one."

The man looks around as security begins filling the ringside area. He is compliant, though, exiting the ring and being escorted to the back as Bischoff and Heenan wonder just how he got here.

    The Road Warrior

Once the area is cleared, Gene Okerlund walks out and steps onto the ramp along the entranceway.

Gene Okerlund: "Hello ladies and gentlemen! Mean Gene Okerlund here. Make sure to call the WCW Hotline to get all the updates following this episode of WCW Monday Nitro! We have already had several surprises on this first night and I am sure we will have more. They will all be talked about on the WCW Hotline! Now, to my special guest, at this time. He is a former WCW World Tag Team Champion now striking out on his own. Please welcome Road Warrior Hawk!"

The crowd cheers as Road Warrior Hawk comes out from the back. He looks around for a moment before turning his attention to Gene-o.

Gene Okerlund: "Hawk, thank you for taking the time to join me this evening. We have learned that Kursawa has made his way back to Japan. With that being said, what are your plans as we move into the Monday Nitro era of World Championship Wrestling?"

Road Warrior Hawk: "Well! That Kentucky Fried Colonel has sent his prized stallion back to Japan. That means that both of those bozos are in my rear view mirror. Now it's time for me to look toward the future. The future means a big surprise that is coming next week. You will not know that surprise until it happens in one week but I can tell you that it is a great surprise."

Gene Okerlund: "Can you tell me something, Hawk? Something that can go on the hotline?"

Road Warrior Hawk: "Because it's you, Mean Gene, I will give you a hint. That hint is that beginning next week I will once again snack on danger and dine on death. Ohhh WHAT A RUSH!"

Road Warrior Hawk's music plays once again as Gene-o sends us up to the ring for our next match.

    Match #4

'Mr. Wonderful' Paul Orndorff vs. 'The Macho Man' Randy Savage

Two veterans square off in the ring in this match as Mr. Wonderful takes on The Macho Man. After a hot start by Randy Savage, Paul Orndorff takes over with a rake of the eyes. Orndorff slows things down, focusing on the neck of Savage. A brainbuster by Orndorff draws a two count. The crowd members here in Minnesota are strongly behind Savage and begin clapping their hands as Orndorff locks on a rear chinlock. Savage fights his way to his feet and strikes with two elbows to the gut, breaking the hold. Savage bounces off the ropes and a double clothesline has both men down. As referee Randy Anderson begins the count, Kamala comes down to ringside. The Ugandan Giant climbs on the apron, getting the attention of the referee. Both Orndorff and Savage get to their feet and Orndorff throws Savage into the referee, knocking him down. Orndorff grabs Savage by the arms as Kamala enters the ring. Kamala beats his belly and then rushes but Savage ducks and Kamala strikes Orndorff with a vicious forearm shot. Kamala looks shocked and Savage grabs him, tossing him over the top rope. Savage heads to the top turnbuckle and leaps, connecting with the Flying Elbow Drop! Savage wakes up the referee and then makes the cover: One, Two, Three at 6:45!

Randy Savage p. Paul Orndorff =75

    HulkaMania at PastaMania

With the crowd cheering on the victory by Randy Savage, we are brought to a pre-taped video that takes place inside the Mall Of America in Bloomington, Minnesota. It starts with a focus on a line in front of the brand new PastaMania restaurant in the food court. The cameras turn and zoom in on a table with Tony Schiavone and Hulk Hogan! Before the interview gets started, a fan walks up to Hogan with a sign reading: 'WHAT YA GONNA DO WHEN PASTAMANIA RUNS WILD ON YOU?!' He asks for an autograph and Hogan autographs the sign before the fan returns to the PastaMania line.

Tony Schiavone: "Wrestling fans, we are here at the Mall Of America in Bloomington, Minnesota for the opening of PastaMania! I'm Tony Schiavone and I'm here with the WCW World Heavyweight Champion Hulk Hogan. Hulk, congratulations on opening the new restaurant."

Hulk Hogan: "Well, let me tell you something, brother. PastaMania is here to stay in the Mall Of America, dude. Take a look at that line filled with all those Hulkamaniacs here in Minnesota. These are all people that know to say their prayers, eat their vitamins and train each and every day, brother. That's what it takes to become the top of the ladder and become the WCW World Heavyweight Champion."

Tony Schiavone: "Speaking of that title, you have two big matches coming up against members of The Dungeon Of Doom. Tonight on WCW Monday Nitro, you face off with Big Bubba Rogers and then at Fall Brawl you take on The Giant. Your thoughts as we move closer to those matches?"

Hulk Hogan: "Well, you know something, Tony, first things first and that is Big Bubba Rogers tonight. I know that Minnesota is filled with the power of Hulkamania, dude. There are all these Hulkamaniacs filling each and every arena. They are the ones that will give me the advantage over Big Bubba Rogers tonight. Bubba, you and I have gone up and down the road together, brother, but tonight is just another night where the power of Hulkamania will run over another wrestler. Then we have that big, stinky, smelly Giant. Giant, if that is your real name, brother, our match is going to be the finish of The Dungeon Of Doom sticking their nose in my business. When I beat you one on one, dude, all of the Hulkamaniacs are going to destroy that Dungeon until there is nothing left. Bubba, Giant, you're going to have to ask yourself one question. That question is whatcha gonna do when the power of Hulkamania and all these Hulkamaniacs runs wild over you?!?!"

Tony Schiavone: "Thank you, Hulk. PastaMania is running wild! But, now, let's go back to Duluth, Minnesota and Eric and Bobby!"

    *MAIN EVENT*

    Match #5: Non Title Match

Big Bubba Rogers vs. 'The Immortal' Hulk Hogan

It is main event time and American Made brings out the WCW World Heavyweight Champion Hulk Hogan! This main event match was awkward from the start as both men showed zero chemistry with the other. But the match must go on and it did with Hogan getting a brief advantage in the beginning before he missed an early Legdrop when Rogers rolled out of the way. This gave Big Bubba the strong advantage which he took during the middle portion of the contest. At one point, Bubba was choking Hogan on the middle rope to a four count by the referee. Then he bounced off the ropes and baseball slid underneath the bottom rope. He gave Hogan an uppercut and then slid back in, making a pinfall and hooking the leg: One, Two, Kickout! Big Bubba got up quickly and pulled up Hogan, bringing him back in a corner and catching him with an avalanche. Bubba sends Hogan to the ropes and drops him with the Big Bubba Slam! Bubba makes the cover in the center of the ring: One, Two, HUGE Kickout that sends Bubba flying across the ring!

Eric Bischoff: "Hulk is Hulking Up, Bobby! He's got the fans in here chanting his name."

Bobby Heenan: "No, no, no! I hate when this happens!"

Hulk Hogan gets to his knees and takes some punches from Big Bubba Rogers. He shakes them off and moves to his feet. He walks around the ring before pointing toward Rogers and then waggling his finger! Bubba moves in and throws another punch, blocked! Hogan fires back three straight punches, knocking Bubba back to the ropes. Hulk grabs Bubba by the wrist and sends him across the ring before firing off a big boot! The Immortal one cups his ear to the fans before bouncing off the ropes and dropping the big legdrop! Hulk makes the cover: One, Two, Three! Hulk Hogan gets the win at 10:44.

Hulk Hogan p. Big Bubba Rogers =71

    Big Surprise Part 2

It's celebration time for the WCW World Heavyweight Champion! Hulk Hogan is given the title belt by Jimmy Hart, who enters the ring. Hart joins Hogan for the celebration, though, there is no chemistry between the two. As Hulk celebrates, a sign goes up in the background that reads: 'HOGAN IS WEARING HALF A WIG!' Bobby Heenan, on commentary, chuckles as that sign appears on the show. It looks like the celebration might end the show. Instead, we go to a pan of the crowd where we see someone moving through the crowd and toward the ring. That person is none other than the Total Package Lex Luger! Everyone wants to be on the first episode of WCW Monday Nitro! Luger pauses by a sign that reads: 'WWF. WORST WRESTLING FEDERATION.' He actually autographs the sign before continuing through the crowd. Luger jumps the guardrail and slides into the ring, going face to face with Hulk Hogan. Luger asks for and receives a microphone.

Lex Luger: "First of all, it's good to be back here in WCW where the big boys play. I've grown tired of playing kids games up north so I've come to face the fiercest competition in the world. That competition is right here in WCW. That competition is right here in front of me, the WCW World Heavyweight Champion Hulk Hogan. Hulk, I have a proposition to make to you. I know you have a title defense at Fall Brawl against The Giant. I'm going to make my bet that you're going to walk away with the victory in the match. So I am challenging you to a World title match next month at Halloween Havoc. What do you say?"

Hulk Hogan paces around with the crowd telling him to agree to the match. They seem to really want this match!

Hulk Hogan: "Well, let me tell YOU something, brother. We all know who you are, Lex. It's good to have you here in WCW because we want the best wrestlers here. I also want to face the best wrestlers, brother. So I don't need to think about your challenge. I accept it. You and me at Halloween Havoc for the WCW World Heavyweight title. Just shake my hand and it will be official."

Hulk puts his hand out there and Lex doesn't hesitate in shaking that hand. The two men raise each other's arms and stand side by side in the middle of the ring. We're out of time here on WCW Monday Nitro! We'll see you this Saturday for WCW Saturday Night!

Thanks for the predictions and comments and the Fabulous Fun Fan Sign! I tried to keep things as close to the original show as possible, which is one reason why I have the Sting/Flair and the Big Bubba/Hulk Hogan matches.

Love the fan sign. I have the perfect place to put it in the show. This is definitely a great time period to pick things up. I have plans to make things a little different than the way they were back in the real September 1995. It should be very interesting, at least in my head.

  14. Sunday, Week 3, July 1994

Taped from Flowers Hall, Florence, AL.

    WCW presents...

    WCW Main Event!

A video plays to start the show recapping the happenings from WCW Saturday Night last night. The main focus of the video is the face-to-face confrontation between Ric Flair and Hulk Hogan. That confrontation ended with Hogan on the mat grabbing his knee and Ric Flair standing tall.

    Match 1

Jean-Paul Levesque d. Joey Maggs with an Indian Death Lock.=C

In a taped promo, Stars & Stripes members Marcus Alexander Bagwell and The Patriot introduce their partner for tonight's six man tag. That partner is none other than 'Hacksaw' Jim Duggan! Duggan says he is here to fight for the good ole U S of A. He says that he will prove that this is a country for everyone. All three men wave small USA flags as the promo comes to an end.

    Match 2

Scott Stud p. The Gambler after an American-Plex.=D+

Backstage, Diamond Dallas Page discusses his match tonight against Johnny B. Badd. Unfortunately, though, he will be unable to wrestle as he suffered an injury last night having a little too much fun with his Diamond Doll. He was able to find a suitable replacement, though. He introduces Big Bad John as his replacement tonight. John simply stands there and looks menacing as the video fades out.

The camera is taken elsewhere backstage where we see Steve Austin talking to someone off-camera. Austin says that the plan is in effect tonight and that Ricky Steamboat won't know what hit him. Austin turns and sees the camera, getting angry. He shoves the cameraman down and stomps on the camera, breaking it and sending us to static.

    Match 3

Johnny B. Badd d. Big Bad John via disqualification after Diamond Dallas Page interferes.=C

The bell sounds but Diamond Dallas Page and Big Bad John continue to beat down Johnny B. Badd. John holds up Badd and Page strikes with the Diamond Cutter. Diamond Dallas Page and Big Bad John stand over the fallen Johnny B. Badd as Chris Cruise, on the announce team, cries foul.

The show ends with a hype video for Bash At The Beach. We are shown recaps of the current feuds, including Hulk Hogan against Ric Flair and Steve Austin against Ricky Steamboat. Huge matches coming tonight. Make sure you call your local cable company or pay-per-view provider and order WCW's Bash At The Beach!

    WCW SATURDAY NIGHT

Match #1: WCW World Television Championship Match; 10 Minute Time Limit

Lord Steven Regal© vs. Erik Watts

This week's WCW Saturday Night begins with Erik Watts in the ring and the arrival of Lord Steven Regal and Sir William. In the ring, the two men face off against each other and Regal offers a handshake. When Watts accepts the handshake, Regal strikes him with a boot to the gut. Watts gets in a few shots early on but this match is focused on the talent of Regal, despite his having been beaten down last week. Regal shows his talent with a butterfly suplex on Watts. In the end, it was Regal locking Watts in the Regal Stretch that put the match away at 5:41.

Lord Steven Regal d. Erik Watts =C

    An Angry Brit

From the ring, we head to the interview stage area where Gene Okerlund is waiting. Take it away, Mean Gene!

Gene Okerlund: "Thanks, Tony! This is Gene Okerlund here, reminding everyone that we are one day away from Bash at the Beach. Make sure to call your local cable company and purchase the show. There will be some pre-show rumors and news on the WCW hotline. Kids, get your parents permission before calling. I am joined here now by WCW World Television Champion Lord Steven Regal and his manager Sir William. Mr. Regal, last Sunday night on the Main Event, you were assaulted by the group of Ron Simmons and Harlem Heat. May I have your comments on that assault?"

Lord Steven Regal: "You want my opinion on those filthy toerags? SIr William, give them my opinion."

Sir William: "His Lordship would like to say that those three men don't belong in the same ring as him. However, His Lordship would like to extend an offer to the three of them to step in the ring with him next week on WCW Saturday Night. He is extending an offer for the three of them to apologize and bend a knee to His Lordship. Thank you."

Gene Okerlund: "Thank you, Sir William and Lord Steven Regal. Now, let's head back up to Tony and Bobby for our next match."

From there, we head to the entrances as Lord Steven Regal and Sir William walk off.

    Match #2

Johnny B. Badd vs. 'The Hustler' Rip Rogers

Our second match of the night features a couple of wrestlers who could both be considered veterans. During the match, the commentators spoke more about Johnny B. Badd's feud with Diamond Dallas Page than the match at hand. In the ring, Badd catches Rogers with a frankensteiner and then hits him with the Tutti Frutti, the left-handed knockout punch that drops Rogers to the mat. Badd heads to the top turnbuckle and catches Rogers with the Shooting Star Press. He makes the cover and hooks the leg, scoring the pinfall at 6:23.

    Johnny B. Badd p. Rip Rogers =C

    Feeling The Bang?

Following the sound of the bell, Johnny B. Badd stands and gets his arm raised by official Nick Patrick. Badd moves over to the turnbuckles and climbs up, raising fists high in the air. As Badd celebrates the victory, someone comes out from the back. It's Diamond Doll! The Diamond Doll is applauding this victory as she stands at the top of the ramp. Johnny B. Badd sees this and drops off the turnbuckles, pointing toward The Diamond Doll. She smiles at him and then looks concerned. She points behind him and Badd turns around.

    BANG!

Diamond Dallas Page drops Johnny B. Badd with the Diamond Cutter from out of nowhere. DDP makes the Diamond sign and the BANG in Badd's face. He rolls out of the ring and that's when he sees the concerned look on Diamond Doll's face. An angry DDP grabs her by the arm and yanks her to the back, yelling at her off-microphone. As they disappear, we head to a video.

    Executive Vice President Speaks

The video takes place in CNN Center in Atlanta, Georgia. The camera follows WCW President Nick Bockwinkel as he is walking down a hallway. He stops in front of a door and the camera zooms in on the name on the door:

    Eric Bischoff

    WCW Executive Vice President

After a moment, Nick Bockwinkel opens the door and steps inside. The camera follows him inside the office where Eric Bischoff is seated behind a large desk on a leather chair. He isn't dressed as most executives would be as he is in leather and cowboy boots. He motions to a chair for Nick Bockwinkel to sit down and Bockwinkel sits.

Eric Bischoff: "Thank you, Mr. Bockwinkel, for joining me here today. You can call me Eric."

Nick Bockwinkel: "Thanks, Eric. Call me Nick. I understand you'd like to speak about my decision regarding Vader and The Guardian Angel. I hope you're not thinking of overriding me."

Eric Bischoff: "I wanted to start by saying that you're doing a great job as President of WCW. For the most part, I want to remain hands-off when it comes to WCW. I will stay in the background and you will stay in the foreground. But I did wish to talk to you when it comes to the Vader and Guardian Angel situation. I am not going to override your decision but I am going to alter it slightly. As you know, I wish to do what's best for business and I think that is Vader and The Guardian Angel having their match at Bash at the Beach. However, that match will be non-sanctioned by WCW and can only end when one of the two wrestlers cannot answer the ten count."

Nick Bockwinkel: "I am not sure I agree with that but what about the suspension?"

Eric Bischoff: "The suspension for both Vader and The Guardian Angel will begin the day after Bash at the Beach. With that, let's go into some other details to get set for Bash at the Beach."

The camera shows a bit of a dejected reaction from Nick Bockwinkel about this news. Then the video fades to black before we go back to the ring for our next match.

    Match #3

Kevin Sullivan vs. 'Mr. Wonderful' Paul Orndorff

Our first hour main event features two men who will be facing off in tag team action at Bash at the Beach. As one would expect, this match is a complete brawl between these two wrestlers. The match begins in the ring but quickly spills to the outside. Kevin Sullivan rams Paul Orndorff up against the guardrail. Orndorff drops to his knees, holding his back in pain. Sullivan turns and comes face-to-face with Paul Roma. Roma runs around the ring with Sullivan on his heels. When they make a complete circle, Roma drops to the ground and Orndorff catches Sullivan with a clothesline. Orndorff rams Sullivan's head against the apron of the ring, which Tony Schiavone reminds us is the hardest part of the ring. Orndorff slides Sullivan back in the ring and takes control. Orndorff strikes Sullivan with an elbow to the back of the neck and begins focusing on the neck and head area of one half of the WCW World Tag Team Champions. As the match progresses, Orndorff throws Sullivan in the ring with a German Suplex and goes for the cover: One, Two, Kickout! The crowd gets behind Sullivan in the ring as Orndorff tries to cover his ears. Outside the ring, Roma yells at the crowd. In the ring, Orndorff sets up Sullivan for his signature Piledriver. He lifts Sullivan but Sullivan blocks him! Sullivan blocks a second time! Sullivan pulls himself free and takes down Orndorff with a clothesline. Both men lie on the mat and the referee begins a ten count. At eight, both men are on their feet and they begin exchanging punches in the ring. Sullivan backs Orndorff up into a corner and begins to work on tying him up in the Tree of Woe. Before that can happen, though, Paul Roma climbs on the apron. The referee and Kevin Sullivan walk over and begin arguing with Roma. Roma grabs the referee, pushing his head down slightly. It's just enough for him to be able to toss something in the ring. Sullivan punches Roma off the apron and then turns into a solid right hand punch from Mr. Wonderful! Orndorff puts something in his trunks and makes a cover: One, Two, Three! Orndorff scores the victory at 17:53.

Paul Orndorff p. Kevin Sullivan =B-

    Where's Cactus Jack?

Following the victory, the team known as Pretty Wonderful are immediately on the attack of Kevin Sullivan. Paul Roma and Paul Orndorff lay down heavy punches and then a body slam by Roma. A chant for 'Cactus Jack' begins by this crowd, looking for the return of Sullivan's tag team partner. Instead, Roma motions to Orndorff and then climbs to the second turnbuckle. Orndorff sets up Sullivan in the Piledriver position. If this move is completed, Kevin Sullivan may not be able to wrestle tomorrow at Bash at the Beach! But before the move can be completed, here comes Dave Sullivan! Dave rushes down to the ring and slides inside, knocking Roma off the turnbuckle to the mat below. He puts his brother, Kevin, down from the Piledriver position and begins throwing blows to Orndorff! Dave winds his arm up and then catches Orndorff with a clothesline that knocks him to the mat. Orndorff quickly leaves the ring and Dave checks on his brother. Tony Schiavone and Bobby Heenan wonder about Cactus Jack and whether he will be there tomorrow to defend the titles. As Dave helps his brother up, we go to the interview stage.

    The Living Legend

To begin the second hour, we are taken to the interview stage where Gene Okerlund is standing by, alongside The Living Legend Larry Zbyszko! It's all yours, Gene!

Gene Okerlund: "Thanks Tony, Brain. I hope you enjoyed the first hour of WCW Saturday Night. We begin this second hour with another man who is very smart and that is the Living Legend Larry Zbyszko. Larry, the last time we saw you was at the Clash of the Champions where you lost the Television title to Lord Steven Regal. What are your plans as we move forward to the second half of 1994?"

Larry Zbyszko: "That's a good question, Gene. Usually I would come out here and say something like, 'When everyone else is playing checkers, I'm playing chess.' Well, I have been doing some thinking about the next step of my career and I want to give someone the opportunity to prove that they know something about the human game of chess. Beginning next week, I am issuing an open challenge to anyone in the back to come out and face me one on one. A win will get you the opportunity to have me as your mentor. Good luck, gentlemen."

Gene Okerlund: "That sounds like an interesting proposition from The Living Legend. Now, let us head back to the ring for our next contest."

Gene Okerlund motions to the entrance. The cameras focus in and it's time for our next contest.

    Match #4

The Nasty Boys vs. Brad & Brian Armstrong

Get ready for a Nasty Sensation! Get ready for Pitty City! Brad & Brian Armstrong are both in the ring when we return to the ring. We are gifted with the entrance of The Nasty Boys as Tony Schiavone reminds everyone that The Nasty Boys will face Sting and Road Warrior Animal at Bash at the Beach. Highlights of the match include several double teams from The Nasty Boys, including a double shoulderblock on Brad Armstrong. Brian gets tagged in and tries to speed up the pace but he's even less successful in the ring against The Nasty Boys. In the end, it's Brian Knobbs hitting the running powerslam on Brian Armstrong that sets up the finish. Jerry Sags catches Brian with a top rope elbow drop and makes the cover: One, Two, Three! The Nasty Boys win at 5:46.

The Nasty Boys p. Brad & Brian Armstrong =B-

    When Sherri Met Jimmy

From the ring, we are taken to a hidden camera somewhere in the backstage area. In this hallway stands Sensuous Sherri, who we know will be with Ric Flair later on tonight. Sherri turns a corner and comes face-to-face with Hulk Hogan's manager Jimmy Hart. The Mouth of the South begins arguing with Sherri but there's no audio to this camera. After what looks like a heated argument, Sherri kicks Hart between the legs! Hart drops to his knees and Sherri strikes him in the head with her high heeled shoe! Sherri smiles and walks off, leaving Hart lying there. Tony Schiavone calls for help to the backstage area as we return to the ring for our main event.

    Match #5

Terry Funk, Bunkhouse Buck and 'Stunning' Steve Austin vs. 'Double A' Arn Anderson, 'The Natural' Dustin Rhodes and Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat

It is time for our main event and we have six of the top WCW wrestlers involved, including the WCW United States Champion. Colonel Robert Parker stands at ringside for this match. Two veterans in Terry Funk and Ricky Steamboat begin the match. There is some sharp technical wrestling in the early few minutes with the end result being a stalemate and both wrestlers on their feet. Funk tags in Bunkhouse Buck and Steamboat immediately catches him with a couple of arm drags and then a dropkick. Buck rolls out of the ring to break the momentum of Steamboat. Steve Austin comes into the ring behind Steamboat and takes The Dragon down with a clothesline to the back of the head. This causes Arn Anderson and Dustin Rhodes to come in but the referee immediately steps in to escort them back to their corner. With the referee's back turned, Buck and Funk catch Steamboat with a double clothesline. They place Steamboat in their corner and take turns kicking and stomping him until the referee turns back around. Steve Austin tags himself in and goes right after his Bash at the Beach opponent, focusing on the right leg of Steamboat. Austin drives his knee into the back of Steamboat's knee before dragging Steamboat to the ropes. He ties up Steamboat's leg in the bottom rope, twisting and wrenching the knee before giving it several stomps. He pulls Steamboat back in the middle of the ring and bounces off the ropes, driving a forearm into the head of Steamboat before making the cover: One, Two, Thr -- Kickout!

Tony Schiavone: "Brain, I thought that the United States Champion had it."

Bobby Heenan: "Steve is just playing with him, Tony. He can end this match any time he wants."

Moving forward in the match, we have had several changes in momentum before the nineteen minute mark. At this point in time, Dustin Rhodes has been the face-in-peril for several minutes in the ring and out of the ring. Terry Funk goes for the Spinning Toe Hold on Rhodes but Rhodes pushes Funk off with a kick. The crowd gets behind Rhodes and he manages to get to his feet and exchange punches with Funk. Both men bounce off the ropes and hit a double clothesline. The referee begins the ten count as both men lie on the mat and then crawl toward their corners. Funk tags in Steve Austin but Rhodes leaps and tags in Ricky Steamboat! The Dragon comes in with a chop for Austin! He hits a chop to Bunkhouse Buck! Arn Anderson comes in and we have a pier six brawl! Arn Anderson is paired up with Terry Funk, Dustin Rhodes is paired up with Bunkhouse Buck and Ricky Steamboat is paired up with Steve Austin. Anderson, Funk, Rhodes and Buck all end up fighting to the back, leaving only Steamboat and Austin in the ring! Steamboat takes down Austin with an armdrag and then a dropkick but grabs his knee when he lands, still suffering from the earlier attack on it. Austin is first to his feet and grabs Steamboat, tossing him over the top rope and then turning his back. This would have been a disqualification but Steamboat skins the cat. Steamboat pulls himself back in the ring and then limps up the turnbuckle. Austin finally turns around and Steamboat leaps -- Flying Cross Body! Steamboat hooks the leg: 1...2...3! Ricky Steamboat has pinned the United States Champion!

Arn Anderson, Dustin Rhodes and Ricky Steamboat p. Terry Funk, Bunkhouse Buck and Steve Austin =B

    The Fight Continues

Following a long match, we go backstage where Arn Anderson and Dustin Rhodes are still doing battle with Terry Funk and Bunkhouse Buck! Rhodes manages to take down Buck with a bulldog and then grabs a chair that was lying around. Rhodes moves over and swings the chair at Funk but Funk ducks and the chair strikes Anderson in the head! Anderson falls with Rhodes looking at him. From behind, Meng strikes Rhodes with a kick to the back of the head. Meng locks in the Tongan Death Grip on Rhodes until he stops struggling. Funk helps Buck back up and they throw boots to Anderson before security and EMTs come in to break things up.

    Icons Go Face-To-Face

We go to the ring for the main event portion of our show tonight. We will see two Icons of the industry go face-to-face before they face each other tomorrow for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship. The first man to come out is the WCW World Heavyweight Champion Ric Flair, along with Sensuous Sherri! Flair stands at the top of the ramp and circles around, showing off his robe. He walks to the ring and has Sherri hold the ropes open for him as he steps inside. He is given a microphone by Sherri and smiles as he stands in the middle of the ring.

Ric Flair: "Alright, everything that I have to say, I want to say right to Hulk Hogan's face. So Hulkster, Mr. California, Mr. American Made, come walk that aisle and go face-to-face with the Man. Whooo!"

After a moment, 'American Made' begins to play. We are told by the announcers that Jimmy Hart will not be here with Hulk Hogan due to the attack by Sherri earlier on. The crowd goes wild as Hulk Hogan walks out from the back. He pauses at the top of the ramp and cups his ear, listening to the cheers of all of his Hulkamaniacs in this building. Hogan makes his way all the way down to the ring and steps inside where he is handed a microphone. He looks Ric Flair in the eye, staring the WCW World Heavyweight Champion down.

Hulk Hogan: "Well, let me tell YOU something, brother. You better enjoy wearing that title belt right now because in one day the power of Hulkamania is going to bring you down and that title will be put around my waist, brother."

Ric Flair: "Really, Hulk? You think that this belt will fit on you after being around my slim, trim waist? Let me tell you how tomorrow is really going to go, big man. Tomorrow, you are going to walk that aisle and step in the ring with the man. Sherri, tell him who the man is."

Sensuous Sherri: "Ric Flair is the man!"

Ric Flair: "That's right. Hulk Hogan, you are going to step in the ring with the man who styles and profiles. You are going to step in the ring with a limousine riding, jet flying, kiss stealing, wheeling, dealing son of a gun who kisses the girls and makes them cry. They cry because they know that they can't keep The Nature Boy for themselves. Hulk, tomorrow, I am going to prove why I am the best. Whooo!"

The whoo is right up in Hulk Hogan's face! Hulk takes a step back and smiles as he raises a microphone.

Hulk Hogan: "Before you make those girls cry, Ric, can I recommend a breath mint?"

Ric Flair looks very upset but gets held back by Sherri for now.

Hulk Hogan: "And another thing, Sherri, you heard what he says? No woman can keep The Nature Boy for themselves. What about you? Can you keep The Nature Boy to yourself? We'll come back to that. Tomorrow night, Ric Flair, you are going to face Hulk Hogan and all the Hulkamaniacs in the audience, brother. That means that you are going to have to face the greatest power in professional wrestling and that is the power of Hulkamania. Whatcha gonna do? Whatcha gonna do when the power of Hulkamania runs wild over you?!?!"

Ric approaches Hulk and throws a punch but Hogan blocks it! Hulk has Flair by the wrist as Sensuous Sherri sneaks around behind Hogan. Sherri catches Hogan with a low blow, sending Hogan to his knees! Flair kicks Hogan in the face and then goes right for his right knee. He does various moves, including the seated senton on the ropes. Security and EMTs finally reach the ring after Flair has Hogan in the Figure Four Leglock for about a minute. The hold is broken and Flair and Sherri leave the ring with their arms raised. The camera zooms in on a hurting Hogan as Tony Schiavone reminds everyone to purchase WCW Bash at the Beach tomorrow live on pay-per-view!

    Entering The Building

This week, the show begins outside the DC Armory. A large group of security guards are in front of the door. In front of them stand Harley Race and Vader. The guards are keeping the two men from entering the building. Head of security Doug Dellinger steps forward.

Doug Dellinger: "Sorry, Mr. Race and Mr. Vader but Nick Bockwinkel has told us that you are not to be allowed in the building. The Guardian Angel has a match. That is why he is allowed in the building. Sorry but we cannot let you in."

Dellinger motions and the security guards line up across the door. The camera zooms in on Harley Race, who just slowly smiles before we fade back to the ring.

    Match #1

The Guardian Angel vs. 'The Hustler' Rip Rogers

The opening match is a showcase of the power and strength of The Guardian Angel. Rogers only gets a few punches in to Guardian Angel before Angel takes over the contest. Angel catches Rogers with a right hook, knocking him over the middle rope. The Guardian Angel bounces off the ropes and then baseball slides out of the ring. He turns and catches Rogers with an uppercut. The Guardian Angel slides back in the ring and sends Rogers into the turnbuckle, running and catching him with a body avalanche in the corner. Within a few more minutes, The Guardian Angel catches Rip Rogers with a Spinebuster and makes the cover, scoring the three count at 5:48.

The Guardian Angel p. Rip Rogers =C

    Guarding Vader

Following the opening match, we are taken to the interview stage with Gene Okerlund. Take it away, Gene!

Gene Okerlund: "Thank you, Tony. Now, remember, we have some exclusive content on the WCW Hotline tonight. There has been a huge international injury. We have the exclusive about it on the hotline. Now, my guest at this time is none other than the man who will face Vader at Bash at the Beach, The Guardian Angel. Guardian Angel, in eight days you will step in the ring against Vader. May I have your thoughts as we move closer to this event?"

The Guardian Angel: "I'm here to tell you, Gene, that the reason Nick Bockwinkel kept Vader from the building this week is so that the match will take place at Bash at the Beach. If Vader was in the building right now, we'd finish it eight days early and he'd be serving some hard time."

A split-screen shows up and shows the entrance to the building. The group of security guards that were blocking the entrance are now laid out on the ground. Back to the interview stage, Vader and Harley Race are approaching The Guardian Angel! Angel doesn't back down, immediately meeting Vader with punches and forearm smashes! The two large men begin to brawl with Gene Okerlund ducking out of the way. Vader grabs The Guardian Angel and whips him into the interview set, nearly knocking it over. More security rushes out to break this up and they are led by Nick Bockwinkel!

Nick Bockwinkel: "That's it! You're both suspended for one month and your match at Bash at the Beach is off! Security, get them out of here!"

The brawl continues amidst the security trying to restore order. Finally, one of the security members is forced to use a taser on both men before they are dragged away.

Bash At The Beach Control Center

As order is restored at the interview set, we are taken to a video featuring Gordon Solie!

Gordon Solie: "Good evening, everyone and welcome to the Bash at the Beach Control Center. We are only eight days away from this big event. We will see matches such as Ric Flair defending the prestigious WCW World Heavyweight Championship against The Immortal Hulk Hogan, 'Stunning' Steve Austin defends the WCW United States Championship against Ricky The Dragon Steamboat, The Nasty Boys face off against Sting and Road Warrior Animal and we will see what has been challenged to be a No Disqualification match as The Stud Stable take on these two men, Arn Anderson and Dustin Rhodes."

The video flips to a promo style interview featuring Arn Anderson and Dustin Rhodes.

Arn Anderson: "When Dustin Rhodes came to me and asked me to be his partner, I really thought that I was losing it. A Rhodes and an Anderson on the same team? But it works because we have a common goal and that goal is to take out The Stud Stable. Terry Funk, Bunkhouse Buck, you want our match to be no disqualification? You must not realize who you're messing with. I can say without a doubt that I accept the invitation."

Dustin Rhodes: "I'm not so sure. No disqualification is not where I am at my best. It would play to the strengths of The Stud Stable, especially with Meng and Colonel Parker at ringside. But I am going to leave it to your veteran leadership, Double A. Whether it's no DQ or not, we are going to be there taking care of business when it comes to The Stud Stable. Double A and The Natural will get it done naturally."

Dustin and Arn give each other a fist bump before we go to the ring.

    Match #2

Bunkhouse Buck and Terry Funk vs. Brad & Brian Armstrong

Our second match of the night is a tag team match where The Stud Stable takes on The Armstrong Brothers. The Stud Stable have a little more pep in their step during this match after the no DQ stipulation was accepted in the prior interview. Brad Armstrong plays a face-in-peril during the match, being kept in the corner of The Stud Stable for the first few minutes. He manages to block and reverse a Piledriver attempt by Bunkhouse Buck into a back body drop. Brad quickly makes it to the corner and tags in Brian. Buck tags in Terry Funk and Brian begins throwing punches to Funk. Brian bounces off the ropes and goes for a clothesline but Funk ducks and catches Brian with a kick to the leg. Within a few more moments, Funk ties Brian up with the Spinning Toe Hold and gains the submission at 6:19.

    French Invasion

From the ring, we move to a promo involving the French Aristocrat Jean-Paul Levesque!

Jean-Paul Levesque: "In just a few moments, I, Jean-Paul Levesque, am going to lower myself by stepping inside the squared circle with Ricky Steamboat. Ricky, you have something that Jean-Paul wants and that is a title shot. You see, that is the one thing that Jean-Paul has never had here in WCW and that's a title. When Jean-Paul defeats you tonight then Nick Bockwinkel and the rest of the championship committee will see that Jean-Paul deserves a title match. I will go through you and anyone else that I have to in order to secure this title shot. It begins with you tonight, Ricky Dragon Steamboat, but it will only end when Jean-Paul Levesque is WCW World Heavyweight Champion!"

With that, it's time to head to the ring for our first hour main event.

    Match #3

'The French Aristocrat' Jean-Paul Levesque vs. Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat

This is our first hour main event as Jean-Paul Levesque steps into the ring with Ricky 'The Dragon' Steamboat. The arrogant Levesque starts things off by slapping Steamboat in the middle of the ring. Steamboat responds with three straight hard chops to the chest and then a kick to the gut. Steamboat brings Levesque up and down with a vertical suplex, making the cover but only scoring a one count before Levesque kicks out. Both men get to their feet and Steamboat brings Levesque down with several arm drags before cinching on an armbar. Steamboat keeps up this momentum for around eight minutes without letting up on Levesque. However, it seems like he cannot put The French Aristocrat away. Levesque keeps kicking out of any pin attempts. Around that eight minute mark, Steamboat lifts Levesque in the Chicken Wing submission but Levesque manages to power out of it. Both men are laid out on the mat.

Tony Schiavone: "Jean-Paul Levesque has shown us a lot in this match tonight, Bobby. The young wrestler has been able to hang with the veteran in The Dragon."

Jean-Paul Levesque is the first man to get up. He pauses, waiting for Ricky Steamboat to gain a vertical base. Levesque charges in and catches Steamboat with a high knee. He goes for the Pedigree finisher but Steamboat manages to block it. This causes Levesque to shift, striking Steamboat in the head with two straight knee lifts and then a short-arm clothesline. Levesque goes for the Inverted Indian Deathlock but Steamboat blocks the finisher yet again. The crowd gets solidly behind Steamboat and The Dragon manages to gain a vertical base. Steamboat takes down Levesque with a body slam and then heads to the top turnbuckle. He waits for Levesque to get to his feet and then leaps, catching him with the Diving Crossbody. Steamboat hooks the leg and scores the victory at 18:04.

    Ricky Steamboat p. Jean-Paul Levesque =B+

    That's A Wrap

Following the sound of the bell, WCW United States Champion Steve Austin rushes out from the back and slides in the ring. Ricky Steamboat gets his hand raised by referee Randy Anderson before Anderson moves out of the way. Austin catches Steamboat with a chop block to the back of the knee. Stunning Steve grabs the knee and wraps Steamboat in his inverted figure four known as That's A Wrap! Referee Randy Anderson calls for help and security comes out from the back. Doug Dellinger and security slide in the ring, working to break the inverted figure four. Austin smiles as the hold is broken and he grabs his title belt, raising it up to boos from the crowd. Austin slides out of the ring as EMTs come out and check on Steamboat.

    Flyin' To The Top

To begin the second hour, we are taken to a pre-taped promo with Brian Pillman.

Brian Pillman: "Ric Flair, you better get ready for tonight. You better have your wrestling shoes on. Tonight, when we step in the ring, I am going to prove my worth as not just the best Light Heavyweight wrestler in the business but the best wrestler in the business. You talk about walking that aisle and being the man? Well, tonight, I am going to prove that I am worthy of being the man in this company, Ric Flair. You better get ready to speed things up in the ring because Air Pillman is coming for you."

Pillman poses briefly as we cut away.

    Old Glory

Returning to the ringside area, the fans are on their feet as Stars 'N' Stripes make their way out from the back. The Patriot and Marcus Alexander Bagwell are waving the American flag as they walk down the ramp. When they reach ringside, they pull out a large bag filled with small American flags. They begin handing those flags out to the fans around ringside. With Ron Simmons and Harlem Heat in action next, Stars 'N' Stripes take to chairs at ringside to watch and scout their opponents at Bash At The Beach.

    Match #4

'The All-American' Ron Simmons and Harlem Heat vs. Mark Starr, Frank Andersson and 'The Thumper' Frankie Lancaster

Though they're not usually in a good mood, Ron Simmons and Harlem Heat members Booker T and Stevie Ray are in a worse mood tonight. The presence of the American flags and Stars 'N' Stripes members are both a distraction and a motivation for Simmons and the Heat members. Simmons definitely shows that he is head and shoulders above the competition in this ring by dominating from the early going. He catches Lancaster with a powerslam before tossing him in the corner. Mark Starr is tagged in and Simmons clotheslines him down. After a few tags by Simmons and Heat, Simmons is back in the ring and he catches Starr with the Dominator before making the cover: One, Two, Three! Ron Simmons and Harlem Heat pick up the win at 5:42.

    Flirting With The Diamond Doll?

From the ring, we are taken to the interview staging area where Mean Gene Okerlund is standing by. Take it away, Mean Gene!

Gene Okerlund: "Thank you very much for that, Tony. We have a great crowd here tonight. We are in the DC Armory in our nation's capital, Washington, D.C. These fans are something else. I wonder what kind of reception they are going to give my guest at this time. Please welcome Diamond Dallas Page!"

The crowd boos in the background as Diamond Dallas Page and Diamond Doll walk out from the back. They join Gene Okerlund at the interview stage. DDP makes Diamond Doll stand behind him.

Gene Okerlund: "For those who did not see it, last week on WCW Main Event, you, Diamond Dallas Page, assaulted Johnny B. Badd. Let's see a clip of that attack."

A clip of the attack by DDP on Johnny B. Badd is shown before we return to the interview stage.

Gene Okerlund: "Diamond Dallas Page, the question on everyone's mind is just why you attacked Johnny B. Badd. Can you answer that for me?"

Diamond Dallas Page: "Gene-o, let me tell you this, Johnny B. Badd got lucky last week. He got lucky that he walked away without an injury. For those who don't know, Johnny B. Badd has been flirting with my Diamond Doll backstage. He thinks he can steal the Doll? Everyone knows that I am chiseled stone and b a double d, bad to the bone. Johnny, the next time you step close to my Doll or even look in her direction, you are going to feel the BANG!"

DDP throws up the diamond symbol and back down as he says 'bang.' He grabs the Doll by the arm and pulls her off with him as we go back to the ring.

    Match #5

Sting and Road Warrior Animal vs. The State Patrol

Last week, Road Warrior Animal made his return to WCW by saving Sting. This week, the two men are partners facing off against the veteran tag team known as The State Patrol. The match, though, sees very little offense from The State Patrol and a lot of offense from the man called Sting. In the ring, Sting was head and shoulders above everyone else. This is shown when he strikes Lt. James Earl Wright with a Stinger Splash and then the Scorpion Deathlock. He scores the submission at 6:27.

Sting and Road Warrior Animal d. The State Patrol =B-

    The Sullivans

It's time to go back to the interview staging area and everyone's favorite interviewer Gene Okerlund. Here we go, Gene!

Gene Okerlund: "Hello everyone. While we get prepared for our main event tonight, please welcome my guests at this time. They are the current WCW World Tag Team Champions Kevin Sullivan and Cactus Jack along with Kevin's brother Dave Sullivan!"

Surprisingly, only Kevin and Dave Sullivan come out from the back with Kevin's title belt. They join Okerlund at the staging area, leaving people wondering about the status of Cactus Jack.

Gene Okerlund: "To begin with, gentleman, I must ask you where is your partner, Cactus Jack?"

Kevin Sullivan: "That's a good question, Gene. Honestly, we don't know where he is. All we know is that he better show up at Bash at the Beach to defend our WCW World Tag Team titles."

Gene Okerlund: "Speaking of which, you and Cactus Jack will defend those belts against the team of Pretty Wonderful. That is two veteran wrestlers, including Paul Orndorff and Paul Roma. What are you going to do if Cactus Jack doesn't show up?"

    Dave Sullivan: "ME! ME! ME!"

Kevin Sullivan: "That's right, Dave. If Cactus Jack isn't man enough to show up and defend these belts, then my brother will step in as my partner. I can tell you that my brother is more of a man than Cactus Jack has ever been. He will make a great partner to defend these belts if Cactus Jack doesn't show up. Pretty Wonderful, you picked the wrong time to pick on the Sullivans."

Gene Okerlund: "Thank you Kevin, Dave. Now, let's head to the ring for our main event."

Kevin Sullivan raises his title belt and we are taken to the entrances for our main event.

    Match #6: Non Title Match

'Flyin'' Brian Pillman vs. 'The Nature Boy' Ric Flair

This match is a definite contrast of styles as the high flying Brian Pillman takes on the more technical-minded Ric Flair. The pace of the match is very quick to start things out. Early on, Pillman and Flair exchange chops in the corner with Pillman gaining the advantage. Still in that corner, Pillman grabs Flair and brings him to the mat with a tornado DDT! Pillman makes the cover but Flair is quick to grab the ropes, preventing even a one count. Flair quickly rolls out to the floor at ringside and begins to pace. Pillman waits in the ring for Flair to return and Flair rolls back in. As soon as Pillman comes over, Flair rakes the eyes and then hits a chop block to the knee of Pillman. For the next several minutes, Flair focuses on the knee of Pillman, working it over, including ramming it against the ring post. Flair gives a strut in the middle of the ring and releases a 'Whooo' that is echoed by some of the fans here. Flair goes for the Figure Four but he wasted too much time and Pillman rolls him into a small package: One, Two, Kickout! We came so close to Pillman upsetting the WCW World Heavyweight Champion! Flair and Pillman get to their feet and Pillman takes Flair down with a flying headscissors! But Pillman grabs his knee upon the landing. Flair drags himself into a corner and, behind the referee's back, he pulls something from his tights. Pillman walks over and Flair strikes him with brass knuckles. Flair rolls up Pillman: One, Two, Thre -- Kickout!

Tony Schiavone: "How did Flyin' Brian kick out? I thought he was knocked out, Brain!"

Ric Flair turns and argues with referee Nick Patrick but it's officially only a two count. The crowd gets behind Flyin' Brian Pillman, clapping their hands. Flair pulls up Pillman and backs him into a corner. He lays in a few knife-edge chops to the chest of Pillman. Suddenly, Flyin' Brian grabs Flair and turns him around in the corner. Pillman strikes with several chops of his own. He brings Flair over with a vertical suplex and then moves outside to the ring apron. He waits for Flair to start getting to his feet and seems to be preparing for the Air Pillman. Pillman goes for the springboard off the top rope but his knee gives and he crashes to the mat. He grabs that knee, wincing in pain. Flair pulls himself up and grabs Pillman by the leg, twisting him around and locking in the Figure Four! Flair leans back, grabbing the ropes behind the referee's back. He releases the rope before the referee turns back around. The referee checks with Pillman again and then he calls for the bell at 17:36.

Ric Flair d. Brian Pillman =B+

    Flair And Hogan

The match is over but Ric Flair refuses to release the Figure Four on Brian Pillman. Referee Nick Patrick tells Flair to let go but Flair refuses! Sensuous Sherri enters the ring and argues with the referee before Flair finally releases the Figure Four. Sherri hands Flair the WCW World Heavyweight title belt. Flair raises the belt up high, drawing boos from the crowd. As Flair and Sherri stand in the ring, the jumbotron lights up to show Hulk Hogan and Jimmy Hart!

Hulk Hogan: "Let me tell you something, brother. Ric Flair, you're going to have to go face-to-face with me next week on WCW Saturday Night. I will be right there, brother, so whatcha gonna do when the power of Hulkamania runs wild over you?!?!"

Hogan poses on the jumbotron screen while Flair and Sherri look shocked! We'll see those two go face-to-face next week as we head toward the Bash At The Beach! We'll see you tomorrow for Main Event!

    ---

I'll definitely be following this. 1994 WCW is always a personal favourite of mine as there are so many different directions you can go in with huge feuds done correctly like Hogan vs Vader etc. yet to come.

Ron Simmons and Harlem Heat vs. Mark Starr, Frank Andersson and Frankie Lancaster

Comments: That's a wrap. Love the idea of an early Nation of Domination, interested to see what stable name you come up for them!

Sting and Road Warrior Animal vs. The State Patrol

Comments: Great idea putting Animal and Sting together. Sting was underused and shelved in 1994 in favour of Hogan so maybe a tag run is the best thing for him rn.

Keep up the good work, man.

Absolutely, what a fantastic time that was for WCW. Hogan vs Vader

I agree with both of you about July 1994 being a fun time for WCW. Hogan has just arrived but we haven't yet signed all his friends. Will I be signing them? The only way to find out is to watch. So far Simmons and Heat don't have a stable name. I don't want to use the Nation name. I'm glad you enjoy my putting Sting and Animal together. In real life, he wasn't even used at Bash at the Beach but I like to switch things up a little bit. Glad you all enjoyed the first show and I hope you all enjoy this one.

Can we get your thoughts this week?"</span></span></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Col. Robert Parker:</strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';">"My name is Colonel Robert Parker and I run this here Stud Stable. Take a look at these guys. Whether it's Terry Funk, Bunkhouse Buck, Meng or anyone else that just might be in my stable, they are headed straight to the top. That means going through Arn Anderson and Dustin Rhodes at Bash at the Beach. Anderson, Rhodes you think you're tough men? How about we make this a no disqualification match at Bash at the Beach? Are you tough enough to accept our challenge?"</span></span></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Terry Funk:</strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';">"Colonel, you know that they ain't nothin but egg sucking dogs. They got a yellow streak running right down their backs because they know they ain't tough enough to fight against Terry Funk. When we get those dogs in the ring, we're going to treat them like old yeller. One shot to the back of the head is all it's going to take to bring them down and we will bring them down."</span></span></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Gene Okerlund:</strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';">"A big challenge from The Stud Stable. We can only wait to see if it will be answered. For now, though, let's head to the ring for our next match featuring Arn Anderson and Dustin Rhodes."</span></span></p><p> </p><p> Okerlund makes a motion and the camera pans back to the ring as we prepare for our next contest.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Match #3</strong></p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47083" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">'Double A' Arn Anderson and 'The Natural' Dustin Rhodes vs. Bad Attitude</span></strong><p> Four veterans of the squared circle meet in this match as Anderson and Rhodes take on Bobby Eaton and Steve Keirn of Bad Attitude. After a hot start from Anderson and Rhodes, Eaton manages to get Rhodes in his corner and makes quick tags with Keirn to keep Rhodes down. Eaton goes for the Alabama Jam only four minutes into the contest but Rhodes rolls out of the way. The fans get behind Rhodes as he crawls toward his corner. He makes the tag and in comes Double A. On the other side, Steve Keirn is tagged in but he gets taken down quickly with a left hand from Anderson. Rhodes comes back in and the two men get their opponents in opposite corners, climbing up and raining punches. Anderson drops down and sends Keirn to the ropes, catching him with a Spinebuster and then a DDT. Anderson covers Keirn and scores the three count at 6:01.</p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Arn Anderson and Dustin Rhodes p. The man in charge of the control center is none other than the Dean of professional wrestling <strong>Gordon Solie</strong>.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Gordon Solie:</strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';">"Hello everyone and welcome to the Bash at the Beach control center. We are only a couple of weeks away from this major event which will feature the great wrestlers of World Championship Wrestling. On this card will be matches such as The Stud Stable taking on Arn Anderson and Dustin Rhodes, Vader against The Guardian Angel and the main event. The main event contest will feature Ric Flair defending the WCW World Heavyweight Championship against Hulk Hogan. Speaking of Hulk Hogan, let's hear from the challenger."</span></span></p><p> </p><p> With that, we are taken from Solie to a boxing ring where we see <strong>Hulk Hogan</strong> throwing punches with former heavyweight boxing champion <strong>George Foreman</strong>. After a few punches, Hogan looks up and sees the camera. He looks into the camera.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Hulk Hogan:</strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';">"Well, let me tell you something, Hulkamaniacs. I'm here getting ready with my good friend, George Foreman, brother. I know that if I can get some hits on George Foreman then I can get some good hits on Ric Flair. We are just a few weeks away from Bash at the Beach, Hulkamaniacs. I know that all of you are saying your prayers to the big Hulkamaniac in the sky. You're taking your vitamins and you're training as hard as I am, brother. I need all of you in my corner because we all know that the weasel Ric Flair is going to have something up his sleeve. But no matter what he has up his sleeve, it won't be enough against the force that is Hulkamania. There's nothing that can stand up to me when I have all my Hulkamaniacs watching my back, dudes. So, Ric Flair, let me ask you a question, brother. Whatcha gonna do? Whatcha gonna do when the power of Hulk Hogan and Hulkamania steps into the ring at Bash at the Beash and runs wild over you?!?!?"</span></span></p><p> </p><p> Hulk Hogan poses for the camera as George Foreman nods along with all that Hogan has said. The camera goes back to Gordon Solie inside the control center.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Gordon Solie:</strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';">"Now that we've heard from the challenger, let's hear from the champion, 'The Nature Boy' Ric Flair."</span></span></p><p> </p><p> With that, we are taken to another pre-taped video. This one has <strong>Ric Flair</strong> sitting in a limo with his legs and feet outside. The WCW World Heavyweight Championship belt is over his lap. He looks up at the camera.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Ric Flair:</strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';">"Hulk Hogan, in just a few weeks time we are going to have the answer to the question on everyone's mind. That question is can Hulk Hogan hang in the ring with Ric Flair. I already know the answer, Hulk. I know the answer because nobody can hang in the ring with Ric Flair. That ring is Ric Flair country. You're looking at the best wrestler in the world and I can prove that by having the ten pounds of gold around my waist. Whooo. I am heading down to Bash at the Beach and I am going in style because I am a limousine riding, jet flying, kiss stealing, wheeling, dealing son of a gun. I'm going there to allow some of the most beautiful women around to ride Space Mountain. I'm going there to prove that to be the man, you have to beat the man. Hulk Hogan, I am the man. But before we get there, we have the matter of Sting tonight. Sting, you and I have gone back and forth in this game a hundred times. You've beaten me. I've beaten you. But you're not going to stop me from getting to Bash at the Beach. Tonight, when you walk that aisle against The Nature Boy, you're going to learn all over again that I am the man. Whooo!"</span></span></p><p> </p><p> Ric Flair stands up and exits the limousine, walking toward the building. The camera fades to black and then back to the ring where we are set for our next match.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Match #4: </strong><strong><span style="color:#0000FF;">WCW World Tag Team Titles</span></strong></p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47083" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Cactus Jack and Kevin Sullivan© defend vs. The Nasty Boys</span></strong><p> A very hard hitting tag team match main events the first hour here on WCW Saturday Night as Cactus Jack and Kevin Sullivan defend the WCW World Tag Team Championships against The Nasty Boys. Early on in the bout, it's all about the champs as Kevin Sullivan sets up Brian Knobbs in the Tree of Woe and catches him with a running knee. He only gets a two count, though, because the pinfall is broken up by Jerry Sags. A momentum shift occurs when Dave Sullivan gets overexcited at ringside and accidentally hits Cactus Jack in the back with one of his crutches. Dave looks wide-eyed but The Nasty Boys take full advantage. They drag Jack over to their corner and use frequent tags and double teams to keep him down. They send Jack to Pity City over in the corner and Knobbs takes him down with a body slam and a pin: 1... 2... Kickout! The Galen Center gets behind Cactus Jack, trying to will him to make the tag. Knobbs goes for a running powerslam but Jack slips down and shoves Knobbs chest-first into the turnbuckle. Knobbs pops out and is taken down with a clothesline. Hot tags are made on both sides with Kevin Sullivan rushing in and attacking Jerry Sags. Sullivan shows a little bit of power when he body slams both members of The Nasty Boys. He heads to the top turnbuckle and leaps, catching Sags with a Double Stomp! He makes the cover at 10:27: 1... 2... 3!</p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Cactus Jack and Kevin Sullivan p. The Nasty Boys =B</span></strong></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="color:#0000FF;"><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Pretty Wonderful Attack</span></span></strong></p><p> Just as <strong>Kevin Sullivan</strong> scores the pin, <strong>Paul Orndorff</strong> and <strong>Paul Roma</strong> rush out from the back and attack <strong>Dave Sullivan</strong> at ringside. They take out his bum knee and begin striking him with his own crutches. The crowd boos this dastardly assault. <strong>Cactus Jack</strong> exits the ring and looks like he might help out his partner's brother. Instead, he walks past the action, grabbing his belt and walking toward the back. Kevin exits the ring and begins throwing down with Pretty Wonderful! Kevin uses his belt to send Orndorff and Roma running. He checks on his brother, calling for help from the back. The fans are shocked that Cactus Jack just walked away. But probably not any more shocked than Kevin Sullivan himself. Replays are shown of what just happened as Kevin helps his brother to the back.</p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="color:#0000FF;"><span style="text-decoration:underline;">A New Nation</span></span></strong></p><p> Once we come back from the replay, we are shown <strong>Ron Simmons</strong> and <strong>Harlem Heat</strong> walking through the crowd. They're not scheduled to be here right now! They leap the guardrail and Simmons demands a microphone before the three of them enter the ring. Simmons looks around the crowd, taking in boos before he begins to talk.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Ron Simmons:</strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';">"You white idiots in the crowd need to shut your mouths and listen because I've got something important to say. I know that it's a rare thing to see three men who look like us in this ring together. You see, men that look like us aren't given as many opportunities as guys who look like you people in the stands. Men that look like us aren't given as many opportunities not just in this company but in America in general. You've got a guy like Hulk Hogan who hasn't done anything in this company but he's being given a WCW World Heavyweight Championship match. Why? Because of the color of his skin. The three of us are sick of it, right?"</span></span></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Booker T:</strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';">"That's right, Ron. When my brother and I came into this company, we were called Kane and Kole. Really? Those are the best names that we could be given? No, I'm Booker T and this is my brother, Stevie Ray. The three of us in this ring are sick of waiting on opportunities to be given to us. We're going to start taking them."</span></span></p><p> </p><p> Booker's words are interrupted by the arrival of <strong>Stars 'N' Stripes</strong> from the back. The Patriot and Marcus Alexander Bagwell high five the fans on their way to the ring. They step inside and The Patriot is given a microphone.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>The Patriot:</strong> <span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';"><span style="color:#FF0000;">"My partner and I were sitting in the back and listening. We decided that we couldn't listen anymore to the crying going on in this ring. You want to talk about opportunities? You want to take opportunities? Well, you can have all the opportunities you want. The problem with you is that you want equal results for everyone. That doesn't happen here in America. You get what you work for. If you don't like it, then you can leave America."</span></span></p><p> </p><p> <strong>Marcus Alexander Bagwell:</strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';">"But before you do, how about we have a match at Bash at the Beach? But you made a big mistake by coming out to the ring tonight. Tonight, there's three of us and only two of you."</span></span></p><p> </p><p> A brawl immediately breaks out between the two sides. The numbers game immediately comes into play with Ron Simmons and Harlem Heat quickly gaining the advantage. Simmons hits The Patriot with a Dominator, dropping him in the center of the ring. Booker T catches Marcus Bagwell with a scissors kick. Ron Simmons and Harlem Heat stand tall in the ring as Harlem Heat's music begins to play. We are shown a replay of what just happened as the ring is cleared.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Match #5</strong></p><p> </p><blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="47083" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div><strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">'The Man They Call' Vader vs. Erik Watts</span></strong><p> This match could not be any more one-sided as Vader immediately strikes Erik Watts with an avalanche in the corner as soon as the bell sounds. Vader pulls up Watts in the corner and begins striking him with forearm smashes to the sides of the head. As we move forward, Vader continues his domination of Watts. That includes going out of the ring where Vader rams Watts into the guardrail and then the ring steps. Back inside the ring, Vader plants Watts with a Power Bomb. He looks to go for another one but the referee stops him, immediately calling for the bell and stopping the match at 2:08.</p><p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Vader d. Referee Mickey Jay is telling him to let go but Vader refuses until <strong>Harley Race</strong> steps in the ring. Race motions and Vader drops Watts just before they are joined in the ring by another man, <strong>The Guardian Angel</strong>! These two men have been feuding for awhile now. The Guardian Angel goes right after Vader! The two men begin exchanging punches and forearm smashes. Officials flood the ring, working to separate these two men. The officials are joined in the ring by WCW President <strong>Nick Bockwinkel</strong>.</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Nick Bockwinkel:</strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';">"Harley, you keep your man back. Guardian Angel, you keep back. If the two of you touch each other again before Bash at the Beach, not only will your match be cancelled but both of you will be suspended from WCW."</span></span></p><p> </p><p> At the very least, The Guardian Angel and Harley Race hear the words from Nick Bockwinkel. Angel is the first to be removed from the ring and walk toward the back. Race does his best to keep Vader from going after him as we cut to a pre-taped promo.</p><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="color:#0000FF;"><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Will Ric Flair Be Stung?</span></span></strong></p><p> The pre-taped promo features one of the two men who will be in our main event, <strong>Sting</strong>!</p><p> </p><p> <strong>Sting:</strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';">"Stingers in the audience here tonight, it's almost showtime! It's Ric Flair and Sting for the WCW World Heavyweight Championship one more time. Ric, I heard you running your mouth earlier tonight. You're focused on Bash at the Beach. But you better be focused on our match tonight. The only reason you beat me at the Clash is because of that Scary Sherri in your corner. This time, I know what to expect and I can promise you that when the final bell rings tonight there's going to be a new WCW World Heavyweight Champion. The first few minutes are spent with Flair playing cat and mouse with Sting, using the ropes and the corner to keep Sting at arm's length. Flair manages to get Sting in the corner and lays into him with several knife-edge chops. Sting fires chops back to Flair's chest and then picks up The Nature Boy, lifting him and bringing him to the mat with a press slam. Sting beats his chest and releases an 'Owww' to the crowd here in Los Angeles. Flair exits the ring and paces before climbing back in and going to the eyes of Sting. Flair turns this momentum shift into a focus on the left knee of Sting. Tony Schiavone reminds the fans at home about the knee injury that Sting suffered at Clash of the Champions X. Flair places Sting's leg across the bottom rope and then leaps, coming down with a seated senton on the knee. Moving forward, Flair has been focusing on the knee of Sting. He drags Sting into the center of the ring and bounces off the ropes. He goes for the running kneedrop but Sting rolls out of the way and Flair crashes on the mat. Both men are down on the mat.</p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> <strong>Tony Schiavone:</strong> <span style="color:#FF0000;"><span style="font-family:'CENTURY GOTHIC';">"Both men are down on the mat. The stronger Sting starts getting several in a row and then catches Ric Flair with a swinging neckbreaker. Sting makes the cover: One...Two...Thre- NO! Flair manages to somehow get the shoulder up at the last moment. Sting pulls up Flair, favoring that injured leg. He Irish whips Flair into the corner and Flair flips up and over, landing on the apron. He runs across and climbs to the top turnbuckle where he gets caught by Sting. Flair yells no but Sting body slams Flair off the turnbuckle. In the process, though, Sting's knee buckles and he collapses to the mat. The match continues with back and forth action by both men until we hear the announcement of one minute remaining. Sting has taken the advantage. He brings Flair to the mat with a vertical suplex and then Irish whips him into a corner. He backs up and catches Flair with the Stinger Splash! Flair takes two steps and falls face-first on the mat. Sting grabs the legs of The Nature Boy and locks in the Scorpion Deathlock! Flair shakes his head, crying out in pain but refusing to submit. Sting leans back, dragging Flair to the center of the ring. Referee Nick Patrick asks Flair if he submits but Flair continues to refuse. Suddenly, the bell sounds.<p> <strong><span style="text-decoration:underline;">Ric Flair Draws Sting =A</span></strong></p></div></blockquote><p> </p><p> <strong><span style="color:#0000FF;"><span style="text-decoration:underline;">A Big Return</span></span></strong></p><p> Following the sound of the bell, <strong>Sting</strong> releases the Scorpion Deathlock. He stands up and raises his arms in victory. Did <strong>Ric Flair</strong> submit before the bell sounded? Nick Patrick is given the title belt and he walks over to Sting. He lowers Sting's arms, informing him that the bell sounded and the time limit expired. Flair grabs the title belt from Nick Patrick and clocks Sting in the back of that already injured knee from behind. Flair drops to his knees, throwing punches to Sting until we get a rather large shock. Out from the back comes <strong>Road Warrior Animal</strong>! He rushes the ring and slides in under the bottom rope, meeting Ric Flair in the center of the ring. Animal ducks a belt shot and takes down Flair with a clothesline. Flair grabs the belt and rolls out of the ring as Animal stands tall. </p><p> </p><p> Road Warrior Animal checks on Sting as the night comes to an end. We'll see you Sunday for Main Event.</p>
