1. You underrate the burden of having to keep enough over guys on a card at all times to keep those ratings high enough. Especially in SE feds where breaking 75 is incredibly hard without burning through your main eventers.

I’m going to have to disagree heavily here.

I’m in October in my SWF game and my show ratings are consistently between 85-91 for both of my prime time shows.

I have main event spotlight and tight angle focus. Oftentimes my shows aren’t even main evented by “major stars” , but as long as I have workers in there that can put on a decent match, while using my stars and major stars for great angle ratings for at least 1-2 angles, my shows grade out tremendously while still being able to book my undercard however I please

Edit: For example, my last episode of SWF ELITE was main evented by ZWB (Star - 75 pop across ) vs Killer Shark (Well known - 71 pop across) and scored an 83

My world title feud between Angry Gilmore and Des David’s was and usually is the primary focus of this show so they had a couple killer angles in the high 90s

The rest of the card was used to flesh out some undercard storylines, a few squash matches, and whatever else I wanted to do to get some lowercard guys on the show

    My show rating? 90

It’s almost TOO easy to get consistently good ratings this year using main event spotlight and tight focus settings.

  2. Just because your understanding of "Left the business" is different to Adam's. It doesn't make the game wrong. In the games universe. Your "left the business" is TEW's "on hiatus". "Left the business" IN THE GAME means gone forever. Not gone on hiatus for X amount of years.

    Done.

And as someone else suggested just add them back in before you start. If you've already started, clone an active character and alter their stats to match the inactive character you want.

There's many work arounds. And they're all quicker than wasting time on this topic.

Doesn’t make my opinion wrong now either, does it? Just because you worship adam and think his games can do no wrong doesn’t mean you’re right, either.

Some of you need to get a serious grip

  3. Well I guess he didn't really leave the business, did he. If I was making a mod I would put Rock on Hiatus because he left to do movies but keeps coming back. He never cut ties completely.

He did, however. Being gone for 7 years and not being involved in wrestling in any capacity screams “left the business” to me.

It’s not a problem to admit this is completely flawed in TEW and the game doesn’t offer enough options to such a broad scope of how “left the business” actually is IRL

  4.
The Rock left the business for SEVEN years before he returned and had a match. Everyone thought he was completely done with wrestling forever, and guess what, he came back for multiple matches across two years, and STILL does sporadic appearances here and there at the height of his movie popularity.

Lesnar was gone for 6 years and came back.

The list goes on and on of people who “left the business” and came back either out of loyalty to Vince or the love for wrestling.

To say that it would be unrealistic to talk someone back for a couple appearances or a match or two would be ludicrous

  5. Sorry guys but you just interpretate way too much into it, it's unfortunately just the truth that Ryland codes in some weirdass language so there are certain limits it seems and one probably is that you just throw some numbers out there in these calculations, combined with some randomizing effect.

We’re not interpreting anything too much. This is how the game is meant to operate. You’re not willing to learn the mechanics, thats your problem, not ours.

I promise that one of us could take your save game and book a 90-99 rated show on our first try. Because we’ve learned the mechanics and we know how to properly book a show within the framework of the game.

You’re not willing to learn then that’s your problem, mate. We’ve all tried to lend you a helping hand and you’re too hardheaded to take any advice. Good luck to you.

That makes a lot of sense. Most fans watching that product indeed expect longer matches and will rate the shorter ones a couple of % lower than they should technically be. An all-out note will probably mitigate that penalty already so no harm there.

The problem is that it's tied to perception and not tied to the product. It's just weird that somehow fans put a worker on a shortlist for 20-min matches after a win, and when he loses again they're once again fine with shorter matches. This shouldn't just change back and forth overnight.

Again: it's a small penalty people.

I’ve found that once they’re firmly established, it’s hard for them to lose their major star spot unless they start really losing every week and their momentum is in the toilet

I have 6 major stars in my SWF game right now

Rocky golden

Remo

Angry Gilmore

Mikey Lau

Randy Unleashed

Scythe

All of these guys I’ve been pushing pretty hard except Randy. I think the fans just took to him because even after 3 PPV losses in a row, he’s still a major star.

I feature these 6 guys prominently. If they lose, it’s by DQ, count out or some other shenanigans. If they lose clean, it’s to one of the other 5 guys.

Once you start learning your roster and what your fans want, it’s easy to establish major stars and keep that in that position.

I’m in July now and I’ve had these 6 major stars since mid March in game

  7. Ofc they don't... New Japan Cup first round matches don't go 20 minutes as well and I got penalized for letting Okada beat Chase Owens in 9 minutes and for exampl Moxley vs. Juice Robinson 18 minutes as well, so the game always wants 20 minutes on literally every match that isn't undercarders.

Brother people have told you time and time again it’s the mod you’re using, combined with the product and settings you’re using.

In all honestly there’s not one real world mod ready for TEW 2020 just yet. There’s a lot of errors and kinks that need to be worked out before they’re ready for prime time.

In your settings, turn off the worker overuse penalties and book your matches within your product. You can also turn off crowd burnout because it seemed like you were having trouble with that as well in a previous post.

I’d recommended practicing in the default data with BHOTWG or another Japanese promotion that runs a similar model to NJPW. The default data will give you a clear indication on how to Properly book the game and get you ready for a true real world mod when they’re ready.

  8. Playing as SWF, Matty Faith was in line for a pretty big singles push after Brandon James said he saw something in the kid so he’d be willing to put him over.

Well, Mr. Faith thought it would be cool to get busted with steroids 2 weeks before his PPV match with Brandon James.

I suspended him, he now has simmering tension with me and his push is going to Masked Patriot instead.

Bad news is the press got a hold of the story so I’m caught in a scandal right now. Thanks, Faith.

His contract is up in 7 months so if he’s still mad at me I’ll let him walk right into the unemployment line.

  9. You can try to use the new Talk to Wrestler feature, though.

This is true, which is sort of a silver lining. I guess that’s one of the things the feature was intended for. Although wouldn’t this really only work for retired wrestlers?

If I’m treating champagne lover like the rock, a guy who left the business for years and years and years and then made his return. Had two matches at mania two years in a row, and even won the WWE championship is second run. Is that no longer possible to do with the editor?

Or, can we talk to guys who have left the business and try to convince them to come back?

  10. I think I’m getting hang of the mechanics and how booking works. My last three SWF shows, (2 TVS and a PPV) have all scored an 86 rating or better.

Only problem I’m having is that I can’t seem to keep any major stars. At one point I had 5. (Golden, Remo, Scythe, Des Davids and Valiant)

I am now down to 1. Golden. If I can figure out how to keep guys at a major star level we’ll be in much better shape because right now we’re losing attendance for not having enough stars.

Other than that, booking has become routine as it was in 2016 for me. I’m having genuine fun here.

Now if we could only get a confirmation of that release date so I didn’t have to limit myself to booking 2 shows a day

  11. One thing I know is that the Ruthless Aggression and Attitude Era of WWE used a LOT of blood, so the fact that we can't simulate that product accurately is a bit of an issue for me.

Classic sports entertainment and attitude entertainment products allow me to use high risk, brutal matches with crazy bumps and blood.

I’ve found classic sports entertainment and surprisingly, competitive joshi are the two best products in the game for me.

  12. I will say I was VERY vocal on here with my displeasure of the game, but, I’m going to give credit where credit is due and salute Adam for all the hard work he’s put in this past week. We’ll probably hit 11 patches today and the amount of work he’s had to have done these past few days is unprecedented.

Adam, thank you for listening to your fan base and thank you for delivering on your word that you will do your best to iron out any bugs and glitches while still upgrading and improving features.

I can’t wait for the full game to drop. Hopefully before the 14th with the amazing progress being made. Thanks for all you’ve been doing for us!!

  13. At the least I believe the demo should be at least 4 months. Technically speaking, all of us are beta testers right now. There could be a multitude of issues that aren’t showing up because of the limited amount of playtime .

For me, I want this game to succeed SO badly, but I fear that once the full version is released we’re going to be close back to square 1 with bugs and glitches because two months just isn’t enough time to get the full scope of what we might uncover
