  1. Decided to spoil myself and just (literally) bought an Xbox One with Titanfall (I was originally an "Xbox guy" but changed to the PS4, but I had a feeling I'd eventually end up with an Xbox One, I just didn't think it would be this soon but after seeing both the games already out that are exclusive for the Xbox and those that are in the pipeline, I couldn't resist) and pre-ordered Infamous: Second Son and Metal Gear Solid: Ground Zeroes (I'm hoping it's not a glorified demo) so I'm looking forward to my week. Oh, and I gave in and bought South Park a couple of days ago and haven't put it down since. This is the game every "TV game" should be based on from now on. When you can walk in on a man having intercourse with a horse, you know you're in for a ride... no pun intended.

  3. I enjoyed the show as a single entity but as the road to Wrestlemania, they've got it all wrong. I, for one, can understand and actually enjoy (maybe that's the wrong word but I'll stick with it) the constant losses bestowed on Daniel Bryan because you just know that the pay-off at the end of it is going to be unfathomable. Where they've gone wrong though is with the timing because you'd think the ultimate pay-off would be to have him come up against the odds at the biggest show of them all, right? But without some really messy booking in the coming weeks where he first has to deal with Kane, come up with a reason to be inserted into the match (which also leaves Brock Lesnar high and dry) and then have some sort of involvement with a Batista who genuinely looked like he had injured his arm and is getting shat on by the WWE universe, there is no way for him to get into that match now. I think one thing is for sure though, the future actually looks great for the WWE. The Wyatt Family, The Shield (whether they split up or not), Antonio Cesaro and Daniel Bryan, they're going to be the faces of WWE for years to come and there is no denying that; it's a matter of when, not if. P.S - Second best bit of Elimination Chamber behind The Shield Vs. Wyatt Family? AJ Lee doing this: http://i.imgur.com/iP7344E.gif
  4. Got to admit, never been that impressed with Big E, I always thought he was a bit clumsy but he's been gradually getting better and tonight, he really impressed.
  5. You're right, his accomplishments aren't that great but I'm pretty sure Drew Carey and Mike Tyson didn't win anything either. The Hall of Fame has lost a lot of credibility in recent years because it's become a popularity contest rather than basing the nominees on what they've done for wrestling and as that's the case, Jake Roberts deserves to be inducted more than most. You couldn't watch the WWF for a period without seeing a Jake Roberts sign in the crowd and he was a merchandise machine. Like Teh_Showtime said, he was years ahead of his time in the promo stakes, he pioneered the DDT (he didn't create it, don't let the WWE tell you those lies) and I think people take his wrestling skills for granted, if he didn't grow up with Grizzly Smith as a dad and therefore didn't turn to drinking, I think he would have been one of the greats on the microphone and in the ring. He may have never actually won a title in the WWE (although that doesn't matter, remember WWE induct people who are/were famous in other promotions, not just the 'E) but he was always there or there about and I think anyone who is still remembered today - which he is - needs some sort of acknowledgement, it simply just doesn't come down to accomplishments any more. It certainly doesn't come down to personality either because half of the people in the HoF are egomaniacs/jerks but that's because the best usually are. I'd much rather have people like Jake Roberts in there - who have offered something to wrestling even if it's not a rich title history - than say, Donald Trump. EDIT: Oh yeah, Antonio Cesaro in the Elimination Chamber and The Wyatt Family Vs. The Shield = Money. Cesaro obviously won't win but you can guaran-damn-tee some ****in' great spots, so I cannot wait to see that and The Wyatt's Vs. The Shield speaks for itself. I think that settles the "bad booking" argument, right?

It would be a hell of a lot better than Tensai, the guy is charismatic gold.</p>
  7. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="bigtplaystew" data-cite="bigtplaystew" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="25169" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Mammoth explain "real or fake" lol. You kinda sound like "it either is or it isn't... either way I'm right"</div></blockquote><p> xD What I mean is it's either real; it's exactly how it sounds, Punk has finally thrown his dummy out of the pram and quit. Or it's fake; what with the script changing last minute, Punk saw he wasn't needed so went home. There was no falling out. Punk hasn't quit. Basically what happened was someone saw Punk leave, realised he wasn't on Raw and put two and two together to make five, completely blowing it out of all proportion. When I say "fake" I don't mean it's a work, I simply mean the whole thing didn't actually happen, at least not how it's being reported.</p>
  8. If it is a work, he'll be back for/at Wrestlemania; they won't keep one of their biggest stars away from the biggest night of the year. It's another reason I think it's either real or fake because missing for a month or two doesn't really add that much to the storyline unless all they're doing is giving him a rest rather than intensifying the storyline. These types of things usually go on much longer than that to really make people think that he might not be coming back. By the way, me thinking it's either real or fake doesn't mean I want him gone from the WWE. I'd be as happy as anyone if it's a work, because CM Punk is one of the best things about the 'E.
  9. I think it's either fake or real, I don't think it's a work. If it was a work, WWE.com would usually be the first to release the news because they want the traffic. These things can often be misinterpreted though, even by the people "in the know". For all we know he was just written out of the new script so went home... none of the other nonsense, like telling Vince he "wasn't coming back". By the same virtue, I wouldn't be surprised if it was real. CM Punk can be a bit of a hothead and a stubborn one at that so if he has decided to call it a day, I doubt he'll be talked back around any time soon. I look forward to the fallout either way though...
  10. It's hard to believe KENTA is still only in his early 30's (which in wrestling terms is more often than not their peak as athletes) because he seems to have been around forever. I'm not confident they'll sign him but I'll kill to see him face either Daniel Bryan or CM Punk in the 'E.
  11. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="cappyboy" data-cite="cappyboy" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="25170" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Ethan Carter I'm definitely with you on. The guy may have the power of nepotism on his side. But like Jeff Jarrett or the Von Erichs before him, it looks like he has enough legit talent that it's reasonable that he has the role he does. If one were a mark and only followed TNA, one could easily suggest they wouldn't hire him purely for nepotism and avoid sounding stupid for believing that. I look forward to seeing more EC3 and seeing if that first impression holds.</div></blockquote><p> Who's he related to? He's not really the nephew of Dixie Carter, he's "Man-Tastic" Derrick Bateman from NXT. I liked him in his NXT run so I'm happy he's getting some spotlight over at TNA.</p><p> </p><p> To be honest, my problem with TNA at the moment is the very thing that made 'em; the X Division. It's lost all meaning and once you start pushing guys like Chris Sabin and Austin Aries into World Championship contention and then dropping them back into the X Division, it just doesn't work. I think they're heading in the right direction now but it's just a question of whether they can get to where they're going quick enough to save themselves as far as I'm concerned.</p>
  12. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="20LEgend" data-cite="20LEgend" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="25169" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Bryan losing and not being in the Rumble only makes him stronger <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/cool.png.f00d2562b2c1d873a09323753efdb041.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png"><p> </p><p> And WWE know that. Didn't mind Reigns not winning, but it's a good sign for him long term and the crowd are invested in him. What WWE do best is making me want more. Might be annoyed at certain outcomes but I know for a fact I'm a whole lot more behind certain guys after tonight. I think the 'internet fans' are the people who get most invested into their own versions of face and heels these days. Seems like a modernised versions of regular face/heel reaction to me, but who knows.</p><p> </p><p> No complaints from me, especially considering how invested I got in wanting Reigns to win it <img alt=":D" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/biggrin.png.929299b4c121f473b0026f3d6e74d189.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png">. Cena/Orton out of the way on the Rumble where it wasn't a main focus, so we know we won't see it again. Good show IMO, I enjoyed it.</p><p> </p><p> I do agree that there is increasingly good reaction to the new guys and think they're not far off (maybe after Mania) having a few guys really break out as stars. The future is bright <img alt="" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/cool.png.f00d2562b2c1d873a09323753efdb041.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png"></p><p> </p><p> WWE certainly know their audience as far as I can tell</p></div></blockquote><p> I do think the crowd are invested in Roman Reigns but not nearly as much as they were tonight. Most of the cheers for Reigns only came when only he and Batista were left so I think most people were just cheering for the lesser of two evils. </p><p> </p><p> As for Bryan, I think it would have made him stronger if there was a clear path for him to follow but now The Wyatts have clearly moved on to Cena, it kinda leaves him in the lurch. They can obviously save it on Raw tomorrow but just for tonight, everyone's negativity is justified.</p>
  13. <blockquote data-ipsquote="" class="ipsQuote" data-ipsquote-username="Rickymex" data-cite="Rickymex" data-ipsquote-contentapp="forums" data-ipsquote-contenttype="forums" data-ipsquote-contentid="25169" data-ipsquote-contentclass="forums_Topic"><div>Do feel bad for Rey Mysterio through. Poor dude had the most heat in the entire PPV.<img alt=":(" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/frown.png.e6b571745a30fe6a6f2e918994141a47.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png"></div></blockquote><p> This. I agree with I think everyone else here that the crowd - for once - were on form, but Rey didn't deserve that treatment. Fair do's, boo him on his entrance because you were disappointed but the boos on the 619 on Rollins and the cheers on his exit were uncalled for, Rey didn't book it.</p><p> </p><p> I think they're already feelings the effects of one world championship because they've almost got too many challengers for one title now. They've obviously found roles for Bray Wyatt, John Cena and CM Punk (Wyatt Vs. Cena and Punk Vs. The Authority) but then everyone else is either left fighting for the championship of which I can only imagine two spots available for Wrestlemania or doing nothing. Take Brock for example, he's just demolished a "giant", the commentators hyped him to the limit and he's already made his determination to win the championship known but where does this leave him? It's also the reason the likes of Alberto Del Rio and Dolph Ziggler have unceremoniously dropped down the card. Whether you like the new layout of a single world championship or not, you can't possibly like the fact that these guys no longer have the opportunity of some recognition whether that's a second-bit world championship or not.</p><p> </p><p> I'm glad Alexander Rusev and Roman Reigns got the spotlight they deserve (by the way, that dropkick Roman Reigns entered with was fantastic) but Roman Reigns just leaves them with another problem. Obviously the break-up of The Shield will probably be there Wrestlemania moment, but it's what they do with Reigns after that now people will see him as that main event guy. A lot could change between now and 'Mania, but as we've already witnessed, the 'E aren't as subtle as they like to think they're; whether you like it or not, Batista winning the Rumble was <strong>always</strong> a certainty.</p><p> </p><p> @Basmat01 - The punch usually "knocks out" most people but Brock took it and continued wrestling. What more do you want from him? <img alt=":p" data-src="//content.invisioncic.com/g322608/emoticons/tongue.png.ceb643b2956793497cef30b0e944be28.png" src="<___base_url___>/applications/core/interface/js/spacer.png"></p>
  14. Am I the only one who likes Stephanie McMahon in the authority role? Not only do you buy her in that role because, obviously, she's a McMahon but I also think she's more than adequate on the microphone to handle herself. I'd take her over an ex-wrestler or some random any day. I think a lot of people underestimate the McMahon's because they think they're there because of nepotism but I don't believe that for one second. Sure, they got their start in the business because they're McMahon's but I think they had to work hard to stay there. Take Shane (my favourite McMahon) for example and the things he did for the 'E. Go back and watch some of his matches and you'll see he's probably a better wrestler than half the roster today. Anyway, back to my initial point, I don't think bringing Stephanie back was such a bad idea. So, who do you think will be the surprises/alternates in tonights Rumble? Personally, I'm hoping Jake "The Snake" Roberts makes an appearance. DDP has worked wonders with him and it would be interesting to see him in a wrestling capacity again, even if it's just DDT'ing Heath Slater or someone before being tossed out. I'd also love to see some of the NXT guys brought up, even if it's not their official call up; I'd much rather see Adrian Neville, Alexander Rusev and Sami Zayn hold a number rather than some lower midcarders nobody wants to see. I'm also expecting the returns of Christian, Evan Bourne and Sheamus, but I can't say I'm truly excited about any of them.
  15. Granted, I don't watch wrestling as much as I used to but every time I've seen The Uso's, they've (the commentators) mentioned their connection to Rikishi and/or the Anoaʻi clan. More often than not it's just in passing though like when one of 'em hit a Samoan Drop or Running Hip Attack. Let's face it, they're both talented in-ring workers but they haven't got anything else going for them character wise so they should actually use the connection more. I haven't heard the connection mentioned in the same breath as Roman Reigns though, not since his stay in NXT and certainly not in connection with The Uso's but I do recall them mentioning he's a second/third generation superstar on WWE but without specifically mentioning which family. In kayfabe terms, it wouldn't make much sense to mention the relation. By the way, that JBL Bingo card cracked me up. I have to say, during his absence I was one of them calling for him to come back because he was genuinely funny with the headset and also believable as both the colour commentator and just as someone who knew wrestling inside out but since he's come back, he's been woeful. I don't know whether WWE have almost put the reigns on or he just doesn't care any more but he just doesn't add anything original to the programming. The colour commentator is almost a dying breed, and that's not just in the 'E. Gone are the days when that spot is reserved for the wittiest, most humorous members of the roster and it's a crying shame.
  16. Am I just being dumb when I say there is no reason for it not to be released globally right off the bat? The 'E take great delight in telling everyone they're the "global brand" of sports entertainment and yet they either won't wait to release it to everyone at the same time and/or they can't. I'm no technical-wizard by any stretch of the imagination, but if this is all going to be done through streaming (which is just a technical word for "through the internet", no?) then why can't it be done globally? If I could listen to some Japanese kid talking over a video of Fifa 14 two minutes after getting my PS4, why can't I watch classic wrestling at the same time as those darn Americans? Anyway, I'm hoping they delve into all of their libraries. As they own the footage of 99.9% (like every figure on the internet, this one is made up) of every bankrupt or closed promotion from the 1950's to now, they should should show a lot more than WCW, ECW and of course, themselves.
  17. I think that's just the state of the wrestling world at the moment, nothing Fleisch or anyone else can do about that. I mean John Hennigan, Brian Kendrick and Elijah Burke (you haven't named anyone, but these are three guys I usually try to sign so I'm just using them as an example) are all free agents but have proven they deserve the grades handed to them; you can't dumb them down just because they're free agents. Perhaps go to the "Give Me Rules For A Game" Thread and ask for some rules to increase the difficulty of your game? Or copy Fleisch's data and mess around with the statistics a little until you develop something you're comfortable with.
  18. You can add my gimmick file and/or my skin to this list if you wish. I don't know if you can classify a gimmick file or a skin as "freeware" but if you can, they are. xD
  19. Why are they pushing the Rhodes' so much? Don't get me wrong, I like Cody and Dustin; Cody has been brilliant for the past couple of years both with his gimmicks and in-ring ability, and Dustin looks like he's in the best shape of his life, but really? You'd sacrifice the momentum of the best stable you've produced in years, The Shield? It was obvious they'd win at Battleground, but I wouldn't have handed them the straps a couple of weeks later. I'm glad the 'E are seemingly trying to reinvest in the Tag Team division, but to reinvest in it you don't weaken your best team. You might say they've not been weakened because it was Show who cost them, but as long as they're no longer the Tag Team Champions, they're weaker... as a Tag Team and a stable. There was plenty of other ways it could have been played out with Show still interrupting, Triple H being aggravated and Rhodes' "winning" without them dropping the belts. I just don't understand it, that's all.[/2cents]
