1. Yes, Shlak. The one connected to skinheads. Prazak tried but that was just brutal. Good for broski though. Really fun buzz coming out of that match.

That was some real thoughtless nonsense spouted above about this being halfhearted.

I gather we're getting ICW New York (they gave us Gage vs. Big Poppa Pump, so they'll always be cool in my books). Are you able to divulge anything else being added for August? I've tweaked the June set a bunch and was going to go deeper altering stuff for a draft game for a save with some friends, but I'm not sure if I should hold off or not.

Thanks for your time and effort, as always.

Edit: I recognize that the data is already at maximum capacity for promotions but any chance we can get ChocoPro/Gatoh Move down the line? I pretty much am at the stage where I watch AEW and ChocoPro with few exceptions. Lulu Pencil vs. Chris Brookes was wonderful.

  2. Couple suggestions:

Strong Puroresu should drop the lengthy important match expectation, considering that Strong Style era NJPW main events tended to go 15 minutes on average.

Royal Puroresu I don't know why crazy/stunt bumps are taboo, considering all the crazy s--- the Four Pillars did in the 90's.

Just a couple of tweaks for added realism is all.

Agreed to both of those. I would also add in some angle time for Strong Puroresu, as NJPW featured quite a bit of angles and promos over the years, more so now but also in the '80s and definitely the '90 onwards.

My suggestion is for something representing joshi pro-wrestling of the '80s and '90s. Stylistically it would be like the Fast & Furious product but with some larger than life characters that joshi often featured, such as Dump Matsumoto, Bull Nakano, and Akira Hokuto. A little bit more orientated towards entertainment and larger than life characters but not all the way. Blood wasn't featured often but it certainly didn't turn off viewers and added to the drama when it was used. Hair matches should carry extra weight, and overbooked matches shouldn't be penalized because they often featured weapons and some interference though nothing crazy. VICTORY THROUGH GUTS was AJW's motto and would be a very cool product name if that's allowed.

Apologies if something like this was suggested earlier.

  3. That's the one. It's like the high school pretty boy jock vs. the ugly duckling dork underdog with the FANTASTIC Hakata Star Lane crowd pulling, as per the usual for them, the underdog like their lives depended on it. Sadly, there are a lot of UWF matches that involve a lot of laying around in the guard or even in a dominant position like mount (TAKADA!) but when done right there isn't much better than a great worked shoot match.

Once MMA came to the forefront, particularly PRIDE, the need for a worked version of wrestling kind of died off and every promotion trying to resurrect U-Style has died a death. Even RINGS which started as a work eventually became a shoot (brother). If it's something like Big Mouth Loud in 2020, I'm all for it though there are not so many freelance legends these days and they need their Shibata to get beat up by them. Battlarts was cool because they combined worked shoot with stuff like lucharesu and it was awesome.

Conspiracy Theorist: This worker can stir up drama in the locker room by spreading constant tales of flat earth, hollow moon, and other conspiracy theories.

  5. I made a decision on AAA. After going over it multiple times I've decided not to have the promotion open at the start, and they will open in May 1992. Several reasons for the decision but ultimately that was the outcome.

I've been adding a few more people in and so far I've completed 90% of the rosters to a point I am happy with. I'm currently trying to work out what was on TV around that time - I think Superstars was the main show for WWF(E) and was about an hour or so long.

I was a bit annoyed with myself as I moved all my images into the nGo pack and couldn't undo it so that has made me very angry as I cannot remember who I got to.

I'm enjoying researching this time frame as this was 2 years after I started watching so only ever saw it from the Kayfabe WWF side.

Want to say thanks for all the work your putting into these mods Fleisch.

Yeah, Justtxyank's '91 and '92 mods were among my favourites and of an era that I find interesting because of the transition going on in so many different promotions and regions. Thanks so much for bringing '92 forward!

  7.
Was thinking of how to best replicate somebody like Brock Lesnar who often has his best matches against significantly smaller opponents...

Flat-Track Bully: This worker receives bonuses when wrestling against opponents at least two sizes smaller than they are.

    and the inverse:

David-vs.-Goliath: This worker receives bonuses when wrestling against opponents at least two sizes larger than they are.

Did a quick search of the thread but couldn't find anything about smaller opponents, so I apologize if this has been suggested earlier.

  8.
That looks spectacular! Really gets me in the mid '90s vibe.

Edit: Not sure if this was from BH's data or not, but didn't Liger just book the juniors and Choshu was the head booker during this period? He was the one who booked and negotiated the UWFi feud and was later criticized for how he treated Liger and the juniors having them always get smashed by heavyweights.

  9.
I am adoring a lot of the new game now that real life mods are starting to release. As much as I try, the C-verse just isn't for me.

Most of the new features are already clearly present and having a strong positive impact. Attributes are an absolute game changer and I love the gimmick system. I also really like the ratings being a bit less predictable than they used to be in terms of people having off nights and money promos not always being in the >95% range.

There are things I hope get a look at before patching becomes almost entirely bug squashing and I think all of my current gripes have been brought up numerous times:

I really hope we can eventually click and drag matches and angles around in the show order or there are bigger buttons included because it's very frustrating as is.

Japanese and Mexican companies tying down foreign stars to long term exclusive written deals. Touring contracts returning and/or adding in hiring rules to address this would help a lot.

Show and match grades being so small.

Skills on bio pages not being organized into their groups.

Nothing game breaking and the return of the mouse wheel and keyboard in road agent notes was a game-changer for me no joke. I LOVE the different eras having unique homepages as I do the return of non wrestling tv shows. Helps with immersion an awful lot. I haven't really touched the editor so maybe some of the complaints raised about it would throw me off too but I've yet to feel that pain.

  10. December '96 is when Fighting TV Samurai launched and I know AJPW shortly signed a deal with them and that's where we see a lot of the full matches that are around today (well that and Classics as well as commercial tapes). I don't have access to the giant book of Jeff Lynch but I'm just about positive NJPW was also on Samurai early on. But yeah, that's not until December. I think during this time it was just the clip shows and commercial tapes.
  11. Okay, so I fired this up running it as Flair in charge of WCW and gave Herd a swift kick out the door. Signed up a bunch of upper card free agents that make sense but the roster is already fun as is. Then WWF pulls a dirty trick on me claiming WCW is backed by an evil cult, haha. Nice. I'll remember that when Savage's contract is up in a bit here. I do have Sullivan. Maybe he can head up a Heaven's Gate type cult with weirdos like Sabu and Cactus. I'll lean into it.

Having a blast so far! Thank you for your hard work on this! You're working with a helluva base to start with but I can only imagine how much work goes into converting and fine tuning. Game world looks great so far. NJPW went on a bit of a spree signing up five or six foreigners on 2 year deals like Eddie, Stan Lane, and Mark Rocco. Hopefully a future patch gives us something like touring contracts to avoid such situations.
